This was a disappointment from the start. Incredibly slow service...took 45 min to bring 2/3 of our appetizer. They some how managed to screw up edamame and miso soup. Then another 20 min until the entrees and once again, very disappointing! I could understand if the restaurant were busy but it wasn't. I've eaten a lot of sushi from many different places and restaurants and this place managed to top the list of worst of the worst. The seaweed salad resembled more of old pickled lettuce or something. One of the nigiri wraps looked like tuna fish from a can. Overall way way overpriced for the quality of food. Wow and double wow! Some of the best sushi we have ever eaten! Who would think you'd find the freshest sushi and tastiest meal ever in Whitefish, MT ... well we did, and did several times over the past 3 weeks. To start off, it all starts with 2 Rock Stars of the Sushi World, Stacy and Tiffany ... we were greeted with warmth and love and simply the most delightful service. These two ladies and their staff obviously take pride in what they do ... we pretty much had it all, and each of the three times we just told them to bring us what's good, and they did! Yes, we had miso and sunomono and salmon and tuna sashimi, which all sounds simple ... but it was really, really good! The tuna and salmon was definitely "the good stuff". I'm not sure I can tell you what rolls we had, but we had a lot of them as "chef's choice", and they hit the cover off the ball with every roll! They also took the time to ask what we might enjoy and explain things to as sushi is quite unique. If you're looking for plain vanilla this place will be enjoyed ... but if you're looking for a great restaurant, a great experience, terrific and creative food ... you'll find it at Indah Sushi. We live in LA, Aspen, and Whitefish, and I would put this place up against any sushi place we've been and call it THE WINNER! Thank you for opening up such a great place in Whitefish ... I don't often leave reviews, but Indah sushi stinking earned it. I've long been a fan of Wasabi, and Indah feels like a new and different addition to the sushi scene in the valley. The rolls were great, high quality fish, and subdued concoctions that felt fun and tasty without trying too hard. Furthermore, the service was top notch. Eating with kids can be a stressful endeavor, but our waitress was thoughtful and prepared with extra snacks and distractions for our 2-year old exactly when we needed it. On a recently visit to Whitefish my wife and I were looking for a place for sushi, our hotel told us about Indah. We arrived with our two little girls in tow and were immediately greeted and welcomed as though we were old friends. The food was excellent and they were very accommodating to our family. The clientele at other tables, we couldn't help but notice, were engaged in conversation and no one was staring at their iPhone. Coming from Los Angeles, this was a rare sight. Have been here a few times and had bad experiences. The sushi itself is good. It is extremely expensive and the service is horrible. One time our order was entirely forgotten. The next time we went, willing to give it another, the service was incredibly poor. There was 1 other table in the restaurant and the chefs were ignoring our table and the other one to socialize with their friends at the bar and make them special non-menu items. A quiet midweek night in Whitefish, feeling like a little sushi and this place is just fine. The ambience was little too brightly lit, the track lights and plants too 70's but heh, its young loose and local. The Miso soup was made with Red miso and had some different flavors, definitely hand made, the fish and rolls we had were light and fresh. The ginger was cut small enough to eat without cutting up and the wasabi lofty. We didn't test a big variety but everything we had was excellent. The negs... a little on the expensive side and the food came a little slow considering it was the end of the night and there were like 4 parties in there. Yep, about as good as it gets, sushi-wise! Never had smoked trout in a sushi roll, wowsers. I have eaten sushi all over the western US and this is in my top 10. Great service, nice atmosphere, and really good food. Definitely going again. We only live 110 miles away, worth the trip! read more

We were excited to go to this restaurant, but left hungry and had to get more food elsewhere. We were not respected and every time we wanted something we had to go out of our way to get a waiters attention. I even made eye contact with a waitress as I finished my water and it took a very long time for someone else to come fill it. It took 45 minutes for each of us to get one roll . . . I understand sushi can take a while, but they didn't apologize for the wait at all. The place was maybe half full that night. They brought out two of the three rolls, one of which was wrong. It was tasty and we were hungry for more, but it was clear the other tables were more of a priority so we left. Terrible service. Maybe try take out, those orders seemed to get fulfilled pretty quick. This establishment needs more friendly staff who respects patrons of all ages.
