I never come straight home to do a review, but I am this time. Exceptional meals require it! We are from out of town (like many) and were so happy we waited for a spot even though we had no reservation on a holiday weekend. It's obvious they are suffering from being shorthanded like everyone else and we feel it only makes sense to be sensitive to that. And oh, boy the food!! We followed the good recommendations from our server Jeff and were truly blown away! So fresh, so original and soooooo good!! Feeling like we need to seek out more than our usual sushi spots in Raleigh, NC after this. We were happy to close down the place only because we had an opportunity to speak with Jeff, Jamie and the sushi chefs to tell them how much we loved it! Top of our list when we return!! Indah sushi is by far my favorite restaurant in Whitefish! Their menu is super creative and their rolls are some of the best I have ever had. Being from San Diego I consider myself a Sushi Snob because we have some great sushi restaurants. I was at a private event in whitefish Montana that had a few food trucks for the 250+ guests. I love sushi but found myself very hesitant to try sushi from Montana FROM a foodtruck. I was more than pleasantly surprised! Extremely creative and different sushi combinations. I found it a bit tough to find things I absolutely loved because some of the combinations were really out there, but the versatility was refreshing. We went for dinner for a friend's birthday. There was one other table and we had set aside 2 hours for dinner before we had tickets to a show. It took 1 hour and 45 min to get our food. Everyone's food came out at different times. The owners had friends come in and sit at the sushi bar, we watched them make their friends food while our order sat. I got my food last and everyone else was done with their meal. This is the 2nd time we have been prioritized below their friends coming in, we had previously gone to their pop up place in Columbia Falls, they forgot our order, made food for friends and did not give us a discount after they admitted to forgetting our order for over an hour. I gave them ample opportunity, coming from the hospitality industry I am patient when it comes to backed up lines but I have zero tolerance for being pushed aside for owners to have social time with friends and charge us $100 for a miserable dinner. My husband and I went to Indah tonight, and it was everything we wanted and more. The service, the atmosphere, and the food was amazing. We sat at the bar and chatted with the owners/chefs throughout our dinner. They were the most incredible hosts. The sushi was fantastic. The rolls were unique and tasteful. We wanted to like this place but it was an overall underwhelming experience. All of the food looked great but was lacking seasoning or any real attention to flavor. The miso soup, a staple in any sushi restaurant, was creative in its addition of enoki mushrooms but was very bland. The agedashi tofu was more of a rice bowl with greens and over fried tofu. We also ordered the chirashi and poke bowls which had small amounts of fish, dry flavorless rice and a ton of greens at the bottom. It was all very meh. read more

Stopped after skiing all afternoon, super hungry and excited for sushi! The menu was a bit funky with names of rolls that required a deep dive to relate to other sushi restaurants but that seemed ok. On staff recommendations, I ordered four rolls for three people. I also added 2 miso soups. The order took FOREVER! I walked in when the doors opened at 5 pm, walked out with my "to go" order at 5:45 pm! Spoiler alert - the food, every roll, was awful, and I mean terrible! The tempura spiderroll looked and tasted like it had been fried in recycled motor oil. The "Linger something" roll had a ridiculous sauce that tasted like that cheap Mexican jarred green sauce verda crappola. Presentation was horrible, taste was even worse. The small bag of gob was a wallet numbing $98.00! Nothing at all redeeming or recommendation worthy whatsoever! If DENNYS starts serving sushi, I'd go there before returning to this hack job! The fish here is super fresh, though a bit pricey. The sushi was delish and we will definitely be back for more of that! I did not like the tempura. The batter was heavy and super salty- really gross. The wait was crazy long while the restaurant was at 50% capacity. Ok that was fine but it would have been nice if someone told us. The appetizer took 1hour to be served. Then we get our main dish and it was as good as gas station sushi rolls. I guess I'm spoiled being in LA with amazing sushi all over the place servers by real Japanese chiefs. When the waitress came to our table later she asked how was everything and I said well it was "yeee" and she said "well you must have liked it cause your eating it". Indah sushi was a truly the most pleasant surprise. These ladies really know sushi! Great quality fish, very thin layer of perfectly cooked rice: not to soft and not too crunchy. The combination of the ingredients taste somewhat sweet, yet tangy, slightly floral, yet with just the right amount of spice. And yes, the cut rolls are a perfect bite size. I have to say that there was something delicate, almost feminine in the taste and texture. I have been eating sushi all around the world, and this is the first time I have experienced this taste. Food was not good but not bad, took forever to get food, 45 minutes or so. Edamame tasted like something you would get at a store. Our 3rd appetizer was canceled because it took to long. I would say McDonalds is better than that. I would not go back there. The staff is very low so I can see why it took so long, but the restaurant wasn't crowded ether . The people next to us got there a little bit after us and waited 15 minuets for there appetizer. We were seated in the worst place ever, they couldn't even see us. read more
