Food: I must have ordered the wrong things. I see reviews calling this authentic, and fantastic. I'm going to disagree on that. Being a Mexican from the Southwest...hard no. I had the Pork Verde Chimichanga (I'm aware that chimi is not authentic) and the pork filling was so bland. So bland. The rice was flavorless, and the beans lacked salt. My husband had a chili Arellano, which he enjoyed, but he felt that the enchilada lacked flavor. We felt the chips & salsa were generous, and thank goodness because we slathered our food in that salsa. I knew better than to order the margarita...I had something called the diva. It was weak, and not cheap. Ambiance: The bar was very large & the restaurant had lots of tables. The Music was on a loop & we both commented that we felt like we heard about 4 songs over & over. It just felt lazy when there is so much tech available to put in a decent sound track. Customer service: Very good. The staff was friendly & efficient. Wow. This is authentic Mexican food. I decided to visit Agave Cantina and Grill Mexican Restaurant in Kalispell just to taste the food. I am giving this restaurant a 5 star and if it was possible to give this place a 10 star I WILL BECAUSE IT DESERVES IT the reason is because the food was so good, the service was super and the ambience was nice. This restaurant is very cute and Mexico style. I'm so glad I decided to come here and try it OUT. I'm so grateful I came here . I'm giving an 100% to all of the cooks they deserve 90 % of the credit. I'm Mexican and I have travel to many places and try many different kind of food and trust me that this food is one of the best. . I came here for lunch today, as I wanted to try this new addition to the area. This new restaurant is in an old Applebee's building and the parking lot had been full since I saw it was open. First, the ambiance is great - they made great use of the space, updating and upgrading the decorations, tables, chairs and booths - pretty much everything. I also liked that you can hear yourself think - its not super noisy! There is just a nice quiet hum of happy diners. Next, I was pleased to find out they have fresh brewed ice tea - the only way to have it. That with the chips and salsa came, and we were off to a good start. The salsa has a nice little heat to to it. I ordered a cheese enchilada, a shrimp taco and rice. All were very good. The food is classic American/Mexican food, which I love.The service was also fantastic, while the kitchen was a bit slow at the lunch rush, the server checked on me several times and gave me an update. Tried this New Mexican restaurant and it was pretty good. I'm giving it only 4 stars because the chips seemed like they were poured out of a bag of cheap chips. Salsa was good just needed them to make their own chips. I had an enchilada rice and beans. All very tasty and hot. My fiancé had the fajitas and liked them too. I suppose rating a restaurant on New Years eve isn't really fair, but here goes anyway. As you can imagine, it was swamped! We were a party of 3 adults and 2 small kids, 1 in a high chair. It took a good 20 minutes to get a table, but we did get our drinks pretty quickly and put in our order. The service was very friendly and didn't appear to be overwhelmed. There looked to be plenty of staff. And, as far as ambiance goes, it didn't really feel like a Mexican restaurant. If you visited when it was Applebee's, it just felt like an upgraded Applebee's with lots of brick arches. It was nice and all, but not very Mexicany. It did take a good half hour to get our order though. I ordered the enchiladas with fried eggs and sauce with shredded beef. Those were good although the eggs were over cooked with the yokes being hard. The beans and rice were terrible, however. If you're looking for very good Mexican food with fast service and a more authentic ambiance, I recommend Casa Mexico. Especially on a warm summer evening on their spacious patio. read more

I came from California & I kept being told come to this restaurant & try the Mexican food, & when you are serving you expect your server to greet you nicely & also mention any specials that were for the day our server was a bigger girl with glasses & was SO RUDE we wanted to leave mid meal because of how rude & everything she would say if we asked a question was full of attitude, every table that was in her section she greeted them nicely & also told them the special but her demeanor & the way she spoke was so kind then she would look at us & have attitude. We are about to be moving here & we willl not be coming here again specifically because of how rude she was. I hope the restaurant sees this & does better with customer service. read more

Went to Agave tonight (Nov 9th). Got seated right away. 10 minutes no water, chips or salsa. Waitress came to take our drink order. We asked her for chips and water. She said someone would be right over. 5 minutes later still nothing. Busser (not to be rude, but the big one) walks by and I ask her for water and chips. She rudely waved her hand in my face, completely dismissing me and walked away. We got up and left. This is the second time this same employee has been overtly rude to my family and I. This is the one & only good mexican restaurant in all of kalispell! The food & drinks are spot on & the service is great. It's hard to find decent tasting mexican food this far up north so i was pleasantly surprised that they exceeded my expectations. Finally we found a delicious Mexican restaurant! I had adobada pork street tacos, they were awesome. Diced meat was flavorful and tender. The tomatillo sauce was very different than I was accustomed to eating. It was spicy, which I love. After arriving home I immediately googled recipes to duplicate my meal. The service was very good and inside decor was traditional looking. However the cushion booth seats were old and saggy. The complementary salsa was very good. My friend and I decided to try this after driving by it. We were greeted immediately as we entered and seated in a booth. The decor was nice, and it seemed to be steady, but not too busy. Our waiter was decent. He came over after a few minutes, my complaint is the food was not very good. The chips it tasted like they were from a bag. Salsa could use improvement. Tasted like a jar salsa. We ordered beef chimichanga and a chicken chimichanga. After a couple bites of eating a chicken chimichanga, the waiter comes over and says I gave you the wrong one. Instead, I gave you the seafood?!
