I usually have a good experience here. The service is typically very friendly, although the last time I went the staff member helping me wasn't particularly welcoming. That said, the food is really good. The curried chickpeas are amazing and one of my favorite things on the menu. A billion 5 stars for this spot. I'm from queens NYC so I'm SOO happy to have Ravi near me. I grew up on Pakistani kabobs and naans and was desperately searching for something to fill that void. So far have tried their boneless chicken kabob, ground beef shish kabob, and nehari. Their food is insanely fresh. Both the kabob combo platter and the nehari came with their chole which is probably the best I've ever had. Addicting stuff, would get an extra side of it next time. They also came with rice, salad, and tandoori naan. So much food!! Highly recommend stopping in. I'm excited to try all their daily specials!! We were in DC for the cherry blossoms and this came up as one of the recommended spots for good food. Husband being a big on kabobs we decided to give it a try. It's a small place for dining but the food makes up for it - trust me. We ordered chicken karahi, chicken tikka kabab, Ravi special kabab, and some samosas. All kababs are served with rice, naan and chickpeas (chhole). The chicken karahi takes a while cos it's made from scratch but trust me it's worth the wait. It was absolutely scrumptious. The chicken was so tender and I've never had a karahi like that and the naans were again made from scratch thereby served hot, they weren't like the usual Indian naans you'd find, but a tad more rustic as a counterpart from Pakistan. The chicken tikka kabob was juicy and did complete justice to all the flavors and spices I know of. Since I don't eat beef, the husband said he was gobsmackingly impressed with the beef kabobs, in his words they were tender, juicy and absolutely heavenly. The chhole were yummy and the samosas were a bang for the buck, they were not the typical Indian samosas I was used to but they were delectable no less. The food was soooo good that the day we were returning back to cleveland we actually ordered takeout for chicken karahi and samosas. TBH I think I still have a couple of samosas in my freezer, don't look at me like I'm loopy they're really good. This place deserves all the rave reviews they have and some more. I like their food and serivce. However, the place is small and seating is hard to get. It's fast service so it keeps the crowd moving. Not sure what they tried to do with the bathroom with one door and two toilets, made me laugh a little. I loved their chai and enjoyed my visit. Will recommend. read more

The food here is exceptional. It's so ridiculously flavorful. I hadn't been here in a while and was excited to see it's as good as I remembered. I got one of the daily specials--a lamb and spinach dish that comes with a bread, chickpea side, rice, and a salad. The salad was just iceberg lettuce and raw onion and wasn't very exciting. One of the greatest place to get Pakistani food in Northern Virginia. Food is great. Amazing taste. I've been coming here for over 20 years. Quality never changes service is always great and friendly place is not more than a little hole in the wall small restaurant it's always pack, but that only goes to show the level of food and service the bacon sometimes you gotta wait a long time to get a table, but it is worth it. At the recommendation of a patron while we scanned the menu, we tried the Chicken Karahi and it was slammin'! The flavors and spices were all there. And, it tastes very authentic! The menu stated portion for two, but the dish can easily appease a party of 3 which we were. The karahi comes with 2 naans which were absolutely delicious....perfect for dipping and slurping up the bits of juicy marinated chicken and sauce. Also, our dishes came with a small side salad and tzatziki (cucumber-dill) like sauce that was a bit on the lack-lister side, but edible and complimented the spiciness of the main dish....which was all about the Chicken Karahi. Overall, great food! My coworkers and I left this place bellies full and half comatose from the delicious eats. We were useless at work to say the least for the rest of the day....and I desperately needed a nap. lol If you're looking for a decent desi place, with authentic Kabobs, Pakistani and Punjabi taste...then this is a place is worth a shot. If I could give 10 stars I would! RKH is by far the best kept secrets in Arlington, Virginia. Selfishly, I hope it stays that way, because parking can be atrocious! But, the food is absolutely divine! This no-frills restaurant offers the best kabobs I have ever had. When I stop by to visit this past week, I ordered my usual. I ordered the boneless chicken kebab. It came with rice, a small salad, and curry chickpeas. I could have made a meal with the chickpeas and rice alone! They are so darn good! If you are looking for service with a smile, you may or may not get that. I don't think they do a lot of smiling. But, you will receive good customer service and great food! I came here with a couple friends for lunch today and we were super excited to try the kabobs here! We saw that the portion sizes were pretty big, so I shared the "Ravi Kabob Special" with one of my friends, which was $16.99. The food came out pretty quickly and theres a heaping portion of rice, chicken and ground beef that looked extremely appetizing, a bit of salad, one large tandoori bread, a cup of beans, and chutney. We were all ready to dig in and eat. My first bite was the chicken kabob, which was extremely flavorful and seasoned perfectly. Also, this chicken was extremely juicy which is amazing. I was so impressed, which is rare for me to say because I find most chicken at restaurants dry and relatively tasteless. Honestly, really, the chicken was amazing, and my friends loved it as well. The ground beef was mixed with other garnishes that gave it a good flavor, but overall, I really think the chicken was the winner here. I'd come here just to get the chicken again. The rice was seasoned by itself and can be enjoyed on its own. But the flavor is great when you eat it with a kabob. Large portion of rice and will satisfy any carb lovers. The salad was a nice healthy, crunchy touch to the meal. It is simple, but definitely a light and necessary side. The tandoori bread dipped into the chutney was tasty too. The chutney was creamy and flavorful! The bread can also be enjoyed by itself or with a bit of the kabob. I love the all the flavors here. Sadly, because I was distracted by the food I mentioned above, I was unable to try the beans because everything else was too good. So I don't have anything to say about the beans. My friend and I both don't eat a lot, so this was an appropriate portion to share between the two of us. Will definitely come back to get their "Chicken Kabob" next time. This has become one of our go to spot for kabobs. Really enjoy their kabobs and OMG their chickpeas are SO good! We have been getting an extra side each time haha (the kabobs come with a small side of chickpeas already). Put simply - this is the real deal. Nothing to look at (zero ambiance), but the food is just spectacular and always has been. I've been going to this place for more than 20 years - and the only change is now they accept credit cards! The lamb chop kabobs and regular lamb kabobs are DIVINE. Their chickpeas are epic. I get multiple side orders in order to freeze some! Their special oven churns out the absolute best naan, and be sure you get their yogurt sauce (crack!). Don't be turned off if the guys taking orders at the counter are brusque. The food is just too good to care. I've gotten their homemade curry dishes that are inside the case when you go to the counter to order, and they're quite tasty. But the lamb is just too good not to order. Inside is very basic, but well maintained and the staff are very kind and helpful. I will try again at some point, but not necessarily in a rush to go back. I've been hearing for many years how amazing Ravi kabob was and have driven past this place sooo many times, but never had the opportunity to stop in, so today, while in the area, I was happy to finally stop in and give them a try. I tried a seekh kabob with some naan and a small cup of channa. I asked for, and got a large serving (a cup) of chutney as well. Service - The guy working the counter was very friendly and helpful. In fact, I didn't initially ask for channa, but he insisted I try it and gave me some to go with my kabob and naan. As a result of me ordering such a small order, he didn't charge me for the full meal of a seekh kabob. Seekh Kabob - It was spiced quite nicely! Not the absolute best I've ever had, but it was a legit Panjabi/Lahori style and it was pretty good. It was definitely tender and cooked to a perfect temp, unlike many places that tend to burn their kabobs. I id ask for it to be spicy and it wasn't very spicy at all. The flavor from the flame wasn't quite there, which tells me it might have been cooked over a gas flame versus on a spit down inside the Tandoor or over coals (which are both acceptable and preferred). Overall, I still really did like it! Naan - The naan was good... Dough is legit! Texture and density was really on-point with what I'm used to when it comes to authentic naan. Again, when it came to "noticing" the coal taste, there was none... tells me it might be made in a gas-powered Tandoor. It was nice though. Chutney - This was totally legit! Not spicy at all and of the three styles I know (one that's sort of like Raita with cucumbers, one with cayenne and one that's simply "cool" and very flavorful), this definitely was the "cool" style with lots of fresh, great flavors of cilantro and a very good yogurt! When it's that good, I tend to eat it straight for dessert as well! Channa - There channa was perfectly spiced and made with the proper style of reconstituted, dried beans! The thickness came from the loads of spices and tomatoes in sauce. Flavor was excellent and so was the texture! The place was clean... Staff was wearing masks (I wouldn't care if they weren't) and there was hand sanitizer in several places for use. Overall, I would return! read more

My brother used to talk about the best kabobs he ever had when he used to live in Arlington (upon investigation we discovered it was Ravi). My coworker, born and raised in Pakistan, frequents Ravi and swears it is the best kabob she has had in the states. I recently eavesdropped on two strangers waxing poetic about the authenticity of Ravi Kabob and the inability to find any kabob to rival it in the DMV area. Suffice to say, my expectations were high. I can say with confidence the kabobs lived up to the hype and I will be back for more. I ordered the Ravi Kabob Special - one chicken and one beef kabob served with rice, chickpeas, and fresh bread. The chicken was perfect, each piece tender yet firm with a slight char that accentuated the marinade. The beef was beautiful and flavorful, but just a tad dry for my liking. The chickpeas were the real winner. I have no idea what they put in them, but I am 100% getting a double order next time. The wait was a bit long (20ish minutes) but that was due to the chef starting a fresh charcoal fire for the dinner rush - totally justified and welcomed. The bread was great and paired oh so well with the chickpeas that I will undoubtedly be thinking about for days.
