Cutting chai was tiny but delicious
    AJ A.

This is my favorite Indian resturant in the dmv area. Every dish is full of flavor and the staff are also extremely friendly. I always have a pleasant experience here. We have tried probably 15 or more dishes here and each one is 5 star. Can't wait to go back and have more yummy Indian.

This place used to be one of my staples as I lived right next door and it was the perfect comfort food. Loved the butter chicken and chicken madras and the daal. However, I went recently with my family and was little dissatisfied. Ambiance and service is still great, however the food was not up to standards of Indian food in nova. We got the same dishes that I used to get but they did not taste fresh nor tasty. Chicken madras was too salty and the chicken in biryani was rubbery. Portion sizes were also small. Unfortunately, family was not happy and we might not return. Giving it 4 stars for the all the good memories I had in the past.

I came with a specific craving for channa bhatura (or chole bhature), having not gotten it at the last Indian restaurant I visited. I found this place at the base of a mixed use development. It had garage parking nearby. My chickpeas were spicy as ordered, and came with two nicely puffed breads, and an array of pickled onions with a fried chili pepper. It was a proper rendition of the dish. Someone else ordered the same thing and asked for extra salt to dump on the chickpeas, which just baffled me. The flavor was ample. I also ordered a chai, and while they call it a cutting chai (which I understand to mean cut in half in size), it was a decent amount and a nuanced mix of spices. The owner was a little odd and was making calls to various tables and being kind of pushy such that it made one little girl uncomfortable to the point where her party complained about it, which was acknowledged by staff. I would advise them to put the customer's well-being first, but neither I nor the offended parties would seem to have any compunctions about coming back for the food.

    Palak chicken with plain naan

Great Indian restaurant near work! Decided to try something different ---palak chicken: since I like spicy the waiter recommended this dish over butter chicken and I was happy to get some more greens in my diet since its spinach based! Yummy and tender dark meat chicken. The spicy level has definitely got a kick! ---Naan plain: good crispy and chew together! ---malai kulfi: the waiter recommended the as the most popular, its kind of like cookrd milk flavor, not bad but I think i would have enjoyed my typical pistachio more Will be back to try more!

3.5 stars. Whenever I go to this garage I can smell how delicious the restaurant is. Went here for a friends birthday and it was pretty good. The amritsari tandoori chicken masala was yummy. The panipuri was probably my favorite item. I liked the side sauce which was more vinegary. Paneer tikka was also a great cheese dish. I was not a fan of the desserts. It has a strange chemical taste to it. But the best flavor was the rose ice cream. Also there's no specials for birthdays which is okay but I want other diners to know. Their drinks are stellar. The old fashion is super amazing and their house soda has mustard seeds in it and it was super delicious! The service was great for me but not perfect for a person in the group who was of Indian descent. I like spicy and he doesn't. I eat with my hands and he doesn't. The staff seemed to wait for him to make decisions for the group and was a little judgy that he wanted mild.

Bansari is always our go to for Indian Restaurant. We live in Centreville and we still make the drive and it's definitely worth the drive. The Kadai Goat is always tender and flavorful along with the rest of their dishes. The lassi and the drinks are always good. The only callout I have is that they don't offer iced water but I would still give it 5's simply because of the food.

    Amritsari Tandoori Chicken Masala
    Liv W.

First off, I'd like to say that the Amritsari Tandoori Chicken Masala is probably one of the best Indian dishes I've ever had. The sauce had a touch of sweetness, but also a good amount of spice. I could drink the sauce honestly... The lamb curry was also tasty, but nothing can compete with the amritsari. The naan was also fantastic. We got two.. the garlic and cheese naan. I'm always a fan of garlic naan and get it every time I eat Indian food, but the cheese was also such a pleasure. The cheese naan was filled with peppers and they added a nice zing! We sat outside and it was a nice night so it was perfect. Cute little lights are hung around and it's honestly great for a date or cute friend's night out. And everything came out so fast! It was perfect. I'd come back 100% and look forward to trying more dishes (and revisiting the chicken curry!).

The butter chicken was incredibly flavorful, tender, and creamy. The garlic naan was very soft and the bhature was perfectly chewy. The rice tasted a bit off this time, somewhat dry and the saffron note was a bit overpowering. Staff are all nice and attentive. The interior has laidback and cozy vibes, and outdoor seating is available as well. Free garage parking is just around the corner.

This has got to be the best North Indian restaurant in the DMV area. One of my friends is a regular here. He has been hyping this place for a while. So decided to drive to Vienna all the way from DC. Also, a couple of my friends drove all the way from Baltimore to try it out. I must say that it was worth the hype. To begin with we ordered chai. It's a must have when you try Indian food. A couple of them ordered mango lassi as well. You cannot go wrong with either. For apps, we ordered paani poori, dahi poori and Gobi Manchurian. These are some of the fan favorites. Paani poori was our favorite. We didn't like Gobi manchurian as much. I have had better ones else where. For entrees, we went crazy. We ordered their most popular dish - amritsari tandoori chicken masala. Absolutely delicious. They have nice chunks of chicken marinated for hours in their tandoori masala and then cooked to perfection. It's a must have if you're visiting this place. Next fav - the goat curry. Oh my. This reminded me of some of the best curries from my favorite restaurants in India. So authentic. Goat was very tender and delicious. Other images such as palak chicken, cholle and assortment of rotis were great as well. To end your meal, highly recommend trying the rose falooda. Mind blowing taste. Love the crunchy texture of nuts and flavor of rose milk. Ambiance and service was great. I am definitely coming back here.

This place is absolutely amazing! They are super busy for dinner so you might want to get a reservation. Their curries are so flavorful and full of meats. The portion sizes are hefty. They also have a variety of interesting styles of naan. I heard the goat cheese and cranberry naan is delicious. We got the garlic and cheese naan which were perfectly baked and paired beautifully with the curries. Caution: if you aren't good with spicy foods, make sure to get the mild or medium. Their spices are really strong!

    Dahi Batata Puri ----- good!

Finger licking north indian food near Mosaic district! This restaurant replaced Punjabi by Nature which was pretty good but dare I say this even better! Service is prompt, food is delicious! The Malai kofta, the paneer burji, naan, Chinese bhel - everything is great! I've heard good things about makki roti and sarso ka saag. Highly recommend.

    Dyrbin A.

One of those rare places where you can pick anything on the menu and it'll taste amazing! I haven't found a better mango lassi anywhere. They definitely use fresh ingredients that aren't ultra-processed, all at a mid-tier price. Definitely make a reservation if you're dining in because the 8+ times I've been here, it's ALWAYS poppin', rain or shine. Ambiance: 5/5 Well designed and comfortably lit. Great for groups and dates Food: 5/5 High quality at affordable prices. Anyone who comes once will be a repeat customer. Overall: 6/5 This is a business that knows what it's doing and does it well, from the interior design, courtesy of the staff, and the kitchen. Keep it up!

I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the dmv area. A friend brought their "rajasthani laal maans" (goat curry in chili gravy) and I loved the curry so much that I had to get it again and try out other menu items as well. Fast forward to 2 years and we try to go here a few times a year. I love their biryanis, naans, their lamb and goat curries. My brother loves their chicken tandoori as well. On weekends it can get a little packed during dinner time and there might be a wait to get a table but we usually are able to get a table at other times during the week. The service is quick and the vibe is relaxed with Bollywood music in the background. You can get mocktails and cocktails as well for decent prices.

And let's be honest, I was there to judge their famous Tahdig. The inside is beautiful, clad in dark green colors and velvet chairs, it's definitely going for a romantic dinner energy. The floor buzzes with staff and families giving the whole dining room a lively energy. The group had a few picky eaters that got their own dishes, but for the cool kids we shared the Gilani Kebab platter which came with prawns, chicken, lamb; ya, a little bit of everything and was perfect for sharing. The grilled/charred flavor showed through on top of rice and fresh herbs. We also got the whole roasted branzino, cause, who's not up for the challenge. Served in a pistachio citrus sauce over rice, it was very lightly flavored and succulent. The Tahdig did not disappoint, perfectly crisped rice, beautiful color and good flavor! A few dings because the cocktails (and all the drinks) come out very slowly (bar is probably under-staffed) and everything need juuuuuust a little more omff flavor wise. I'm a huge fan of Persian cuisine and the DMV is no slouch here so color me spoiled. The bill is also on par with being neighbors with a Tiffany's; so if you can get your boss to treat you, then go in!!

This establishment seems to be Egyptian owned, as the walls claim that Egyptians created bread, cupcakes and falafel. The service was fine, though the tables could have been cleaner. I appreciate that they allow you to substitute some of the rice portion for lettuce/spring mix although the spring mix was wet. They also offered both spicy and regular options for rice and chicken. I got spicy rice with spicy chicken, and for my toppings I got Mediterranean salad, hummus, and tzaziki. I didn't realize you could also get white sauce, green sauce, etc, so I probably wouldn't get tzaziki and get olives or something else next time. The chicken and rice combo was a bit overly spicy for me and upset my stomach slightly. I'd probably get regular for both the next time. I also got tiramisu which they recommended over all the other "cupcakes" which they claim (via the wall) is Egyptian. The tiramisu was surprisingly good. There was soft music that seems Arabic-speaking. They have fountain drinks as well as bottled beverages. They also include a service charge - it was like $0.42 for me.
