SERVICE: Both the person who answered the phone and the person who greeted us when we walked in were very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, they told us that it was their last day and that they were moving to Portland, so she was training a new person. The new person who took our order didn't know much about the menu items, but since we knew that she was in training, we asked for help and she got someone who could answer our questions about gluten free options and pasta sauce options. We waited a a good 15 minutes or so for ginger ale and 2 cokes. We waited easily over 50 minutes for our food. MENU: The menu is very limited, meaning there are not many options to choose from. They didn't have any juice or any "kids menu" items to choose from. Limited appetizers. FOOD: Probably the worst food I've ever had at a sit down restaurant in Monmouth/Independence. We ordered few things to eat family style since it was our first time and we wanted to try a few items. Every pasta dish was undercooked and flavorless. Every single thing we ordered tasted either old, microwaved or way too salty. Nothing looked or tasted fresh BESIDES the salad, which took longer to get than the actual food. I only gave one star for the nice person who greeted us and kept checking on us throughout the long wait. Otherwise, I'd give zero stars. It was a hefty price to pay for really BAD food. It was so bad that we went to get something else for dinner after we left there. I'm not sure if we went on an off day, or if we ordered some items that aren't usually made, but I was surprised by the quality of food, especially with such good ratings. Will not be returning.

It was a drug store with a bar where you could order food or drink.  The sign painted outside advertised Coca Cola 10¢.  And you could order it. - you'd get a sundae glass topped off with ice and a few squirts of Coke.

Sadly we never made it to the original location (we live in Salem) but the new restaurant & bar is absolutely fantastic and a place worth driving for. We finally decided to come by and do trivia with Aaron (Oregon Trivia Company) and were so glad we did--Aaron has been one of our favorite hosts around Salem for many years now and when he said he was starting to do shows at Divine Distillers on Thursday nights (ya'll need to come have fun with us! :) we knew we'd be there. As usual, it didn't disappoint--just the right amount of challenging/fun questions, great hosting & an enjoyable way to break up the work week! The space is quite large with plenty of seating for groups and they're working on putting in a beer garden with fire pits--looks like it'll be a super fun place to meet up with friends & hang out this summer. It's usually pretty chill there on a weeknight so it's easy to relax and take your time. The drink menu is very creative & fun with everything from beer to cocktails to ciders, all featuring pours made right in-house by the talented staff. Check out one of their flights to get a taste of multiple sips & pick your new favorite! Also, the food here BLOWS US AWAY. Seriously some of the best food we've had in a very long time. I personally can't stop dreaming about the Tri-Tip (cooked to tender, juicy perfection & topped with chimichurri), the Elotes with Pulled Pork (rich, smoky & creamy), the House Burger (simple yet spectacular) or the Shrimp Fajitas (a delicious pile of tasty fixings that made me very happy). We were told the chef is a BBQ master and it shows--can't wait to try everything else on the menu soon!
