I don't usually like lemon desserts but had faith.  I was not disappointed.  It had a dense crumb, lemon curd and the creamiest yellow frosting.  Just delish Also: great Americano Funny story:  This was always Taylor's Coca Cola Counter when I grew up in Monmouth. It was a drug store with a bar where you could order food or drink.  The sign painted outside advertised Coca Cola 10¢.  And you could order it. - you'd get a sundae glass topped off with ice and a few squirts of Coke. read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this one. A great stop in independence for a quick bite, some wine, and of course dessert. They usually have a great selection of cupcakes which you can eat here or to go. I usually do both. Service is order at the counter. It's a great place to meet your girlfriends to dish and have a drink. I'm sad to learn that this hip little corner of the world will be closing permanently on February 1, 2025. I wish I had a place like this where I live! Any one who knows me knows that mimosas and sweet treats are two things I could never live without. Right on the Main Street of independence, this place is the perfect spot to grab a drink and some desserts. A friend and I stopped here while visiting Independence and staying at the hotel downtown the street. We ordered a couple mimosas and the owner asked if we wanted to add glitter to them, which we obviously replied yes to! The owner of this little shop was such a sweetheart, and I'm so glad we were able to meet here. We ordered the Baked Brie to snack on while we enjoyed our mimosas and it was melt in your mouth delicious, topped with brown sugar and fresh berries. While my friend and I were sitting on the patio, we heard an older gentleman walk in and ask "Champagne and desserts, who's your clientele?!" And the owner pointed to my friend and I and said "Those two." We were cracking up - thanks for a wonderful welcome to Independence! read more

Met girlfriends for brunch on a Saturday when the chef was on vacation so the menu was limited. I had to order my third choice as they couldn't make anything that involved cooking eggs or making sauces. The biscuits and gravy were good with a nice touch of spice to them. The soup, an asparagus, mushroom, Brie was well balanced...just not my thing but the London Fog tea latte was one of the best I have had in the area. Our server was great. Would I go back, yes but hopefully next time they will be working off of the full menu. read more

I want to love this place.. as to the eyes it's very appealing other than the frumpy waitress, and blow up doll owner. They do how ever make great eggs Benedict probably the best in town, but that's not really saying a whole lot. While eating you hear lots of gossip and whippers in the back which make it an uncomfortable atmosphere. The owner seems to be in quite a bit of drama from the things I heard in there. read more

Oh man! This place is adorable and sooooo delicious! Please go here, especially if you have special dietary needs too. We were so impressed and help with everything. What an enjoyable experience! We weren't very hungry or we would have (and could have) eaten so much more. Our table of 3 enjoyed avocado toast and waffle with lemon curd and fresh raspberries, coffee and Irish Coffee. Oh my! Everything was phenomenal, the ambiance was great. The lady and I have been going to this spot on random Sundays after initially stumbling upon it discovering and exploring Independence. If I remember correctly, the first time we visited was around Halloween. I remember this because of a flavor mimosa they were serving at the time. Maybe called the witch's potion? It was dark and sparkly and tasty.... They also have other flavor mimosas. If you opt to do the sampler, just note that they may choose the flavors for you. (We were allowed to choose a few times before our most recent trip back in June. Not sure what changed). The lady loves their lox sandwich and we get it every time we visit. We've gotten pastries before and they were flavorful and moist. It's a nice and quaint little gem. read more

OMGee. This place was perfect for my after run/walk at Oregon Wine Country half marathon. Service was top notch! I was sweaty and the wine tasting after the race was meh. Saw this place on my way to the start line and made a mental note to check it out after. Delish peach/orange vodka with champagne. Took home the pumpkin bar, lemon raspberry tiramisu and gooey butter cake...DELISH! Highly recommend. Cute decor and just the perfect place in this small town. This place is as pleasing to the eye as to the mouth. Seriously, it's Martha-Stewart-worthy pretty, with white walls, tall ceilings, pastel treats -- clearly set up by someone who is equally passionate about design. The cupcakes and treats are oh so pretty, there's beer, wine and bubbly for the grown-ups in the party. I had macaroons -- they were packaged so prettily and they were yummy! Blood orange and ... I think the other was toasted marshmallow. Decor-wise, some might find it too perfect -- while others will find it exactly perfect enough. There's also an extra room in the back for overflow seating, bet you can have parties or game nights or bridal showers or whatevs back there! From the main seating area in front -- a lovely view of sleepy main street, America. Nice folks at the counter, including the owner (I think) and a very helpful teenage young woman. For the small town of Independence this is probably a great addition. It was very charming and had a nice feel. But I got an arrangement of different desserts, all were on the dry side of things, which was disappointing. There are also 2 tables next to the front window but one was being used as an office space including a printer. Which I found an interesting design choice. read more

We were passing through town and stumbled upon this adorable little place. We had a couple different flavored mimosa's which were both great. We also ordered a lemon bar which was amazing too. I often drive by Jubilee for work and have been wanting to try it forever! The other did I finally did, and man! I'm kicking myself for not going in sooner! Right now they're doing to go orders only due to the shutdown, so I grabbed some goodies from the bakery. Vanilla macaroon, OMG! Soooo good! I also got a salted caramel chocolate cupcake for later (which was heavenly!) and a lemon bar for my fiancé. He loved it! The gal that helped me was super sweet! I so wish we could sit down and dine in, but definitely will be back to try the food options once the state opens back up. But for now. Just a gorgeous shop in a perfect downtown location. It's very pleasing the minute you walk in. All the desserts look incredible; I had to just make a quick selection or I would have never been able to decide. Fortunately they had cheesecake, which is my favorite dessert so that made it an easy choice. It was perfect. Nice and creamy without being too heavy/dense, very smooth, and delicious. Graham cracker crust was on point as well. We also got a blonde brownie, which wasn't as impressive. It was a little dry and didn't have that melt in your mouth taste or feel. This place is absolutely adorable! It's all white and classic and gives you a fancy feel. They offer coffee and little pastries for the morning. And near the end of the day they offer champagne and other little cocktails. The owner here is friendly and helpful and she makes really good coffee. You can also reserve this location for any kind of meeting or party. It's located in the small town of independence so keep in mind you will have to drive past a lot of farm land to find this spot, but it is worth it! read more

Frosting cup from a cookie dipper. It's practically empty... disappointed as I drove 40 min just for these. I've been buying these for years since the business was Sugar Sugar in Salem, and the cups were always full and the cookies were twice the size and soft. I'm so disappointed. The cookies were tiny and so hard I could hardly eat them, the frosting was nil, and the service wasn't great. When I remarked that there's barely any frosting and they used to have a lot more, I was told it's the same amount just piped in now so it's prettier... I trusted and paid more for the cookie dippers than for the cupcakes. I'm in the market for a better cupcake shop! I was also told I couldn't buy the champagne bottles due to their OLCC licensing, but then told that I could order a Valentine gift bucket for pick up the next day with two bottles of it? I thought it was odd but didn't question until I saw the almost empty cups of frosting that were supposedly "the same amount" as before. read more

The place is darling, beautiful decor and lovely staff. The goodies are beyond delightful! Here is the reason for the lack of a fifth star. I find 7.50 for a macaroon and a cup of coffee very pricey! In fact they raised the price of the macaroons another dollar since I was last there two months ago. These are Manhattan prices!! I really will question going in the future. I mean it's just getting out of my budget. Please consider lowering your prices a bit or offering more specials so it's a more affordable option to people that are not rich and famous. read more

Although the ambiance and food is pretty, I have on 2 occasions dealt with the owner/manager. For someone starting a business in a small community I can't for the life of me understand her rudeness and lack of respect. Her unwillingness to be engaged with her customers and the community that she has decided to start a business in are the reasons I will not support it any longer. She is in it for the money and we all are, to live and pay our bills sure, however twice in this establishment we have been treated rudely, unwanted and unwelcome.
