I started out with Rick and his crew many years ago for my Acura. Never has he tried to sell me things I didn't need or want. Rick was always honest and helpful. I referred my elderly parents to Rick and some friends from work. My parents had an older Toyota 4runner and Rick really worked with them to get it running great. Rick never took advantage of my elderly parents such as other places had, and he really took extra care, over and above what I would consider customer service with them. Wow! I found these guys looking for a shop to give a tune-up and replace a couple of body parts on an old Ridgeline I bought. I scheduled an appointment and--unlike SO many other mechanic shops--they were actually ready for my vehicle at the appointment time! Rick and Joe are just great. Not only did they make the repairs in a timely manner, they brought to my attention a couple of other things that should be taken care of at some point, but weren't critical; I had them make the repairs. At no time did I feel that I was being pressured to pay for more repairs than is necessary and I guess because I'm an elderly woman, people try to take advantage of me sometimes (especially mechanics!). Hey--I may be old, but I'm not stupid. The price I paid was reasonable and better than other mechanics I've used in the Denver metro area. I was so happy with their work that I asked if they could take a look at my classic BMW (the last shop, Saul's, did more harm than good); I wanted to know if the work I paid for was actually done, and how well (the car had new issues after taking it to Saul's). Even though they don't advertise as a shop for BMWs, or for classics, they did a little work on it and made a huge improvement in the sound and feel (complicated stuff) of the car. I think I'm going to have to bring it back in to try a couple of new things to make it perfect, but it's like night and day already. I am spreading the word, and I know plenty of people who aren't thrilled with their mechanics--yet! read more

I haven't actually taken my car in for servicing yet, but the prices I was quoted were very reasonable and were for Honda parts, but quite a bit less than a dealership. I did have a check engine light on, and Rick let me swing in with no appointment, ran a diagnostic for free, and reset the diagnostic code. The light stayed off for a week, but is now back on. I'll be taking my car (2009 Honda Pilot) back for servicing here, without a doubt. read more

I am somewhat new to Parker, needed work on my Honda Odyssey, but had no recommendations for shops. I checked Yelp and Independent seemed to have good reviews. I called a few places and Independent gave me a reasonable quote so I decided to give them a try. When it was all done I was very pleased. Rick (owner?) called mid-repair noting an additional repair item. It was something I could do on my own and Rick completely understood my desire to save a few $$ and no pressure to have the shop fix it. A bit later Rick called and the car was done on time and at the quoted price. The car is all sealed up so I can't see the repair work, but there were a few nice touches. Rather than just slapping everything back together, silicon grease was applied to my snap on plastic engine cover pegs and the perimeter of the working area in the engine was clearly wiped down after the job. All signs that the mechanic does nice work. When I picked the car up I had a question about my sliding rear doors and Rick came out to take a look and give me a few suggestions on what is going on. Rick and his mechanic have both come from dealerships and seem to really know Hondas, well at least my Odyssey. The interaction with Rick on the phone and in person were also very pleasant and helpful. If you have a Honda I don't think you can go wrong taking your car here. read more

The gentlemen here were professional and kind and easy to deal with dispite all of my many questions :) I got a MAJOR 100,000 Mile work done here on my MDX and couldn't be more thrilled. They truly tried to save me money where they could and accomplished their goal of getting my car in and out in ONE day so I didn't have to get a rental. I have been going to Independent Auto Care for about 15 years. Rick and his crew are top notch, always courteous, professional and trustworthy, even when I ask those "stupid questions". We've had several models of Honda's and they have serviced every single one of them. I never feel pressured and the cost for all services I've had done is on par or cheaper than other local dealers and shops. I chose this place off of Yelp for ratings and proximity. I called and right away the guy who answered was knowledgeable about Acura which is what I had. I had a bad experience at the dealership on the first oil change. He asked what code it was showing and told me exactly what was needed on this oil change and never acted weird about having to see it first etc. I took it in and they did exactly what they said..I did not have oil sprayed all over my engine that I could smell for weeks and no dings or scratches on my doors like I got at the dealership. They were knowledgeable and professional! To top it off..they were cheaper than the other 3 places I had called for synthetic oil changes. Independent auto owner Rick and his auto technician Joe where friendly and experienced on Honda and Acura. I had them change my oil and filter and rotate my tires. I would say they were quick and helpful in completing the job within time promise. The only thing I found was the tire pressure monitoring system on my Honda Accord showing that it needed to be calibrated. This was due to the tire rotation. I called Rick and he said to bring right in. I was able to correct this after reading my owners manual. The service was great and Rick gave me a 15% of service fee. This available on Yelp. This is a fantastic Honda-Toyota-Acura auto repair place--I don't live particularly close to Parker, but it's a no brainer for me to drive here if I need work done to my car. I needed a new battery for my Corolla, so I bought one at Costco, but as soon as I opened my hood, realized that without the right tools, this wasn't going to happen. Though I felt a little awkward bringing my own battery, Rick was happy to install it, and for a very low cost. Well worth it. I was VERY pleased with my experience - this is an old-school, honest/trustworthy, fair-priced auto repair shop with impeccable customer service. You can tell if a shop has their act together by how organized the work area is, and the work area is immaculate...so is the waiting area, which features complimentary Keurig coffees, a nice touch on a frosty Colorado morning! Rick and Randy went above and beyond the call of duty to identify the source of some electrical issues with my Acura TL. My car has been virtually trouble-free since I purchased it new in late 2003, but started having some electrical dash control issues after moving to Colorado from California. I had NO idea where to go, so I turned to Yelp.com and was very happy that I looked here... The guys isolated the source of the problems quickly, and even went so far as to help me out with alternative transportation solutions, going WAY above the call of duty in the process. I received old-school service like my Dad used to tell me about, and in this day & age, it was really great to experience firsthand. I'm used to the estimate being about 3/4 of the final bill, but Rick's estimate was right on the money, and Randy walked me through the repairs to the fan problem, answering my questions thoroughly and patiently. If you are looking for a friendly, professional auto repair shop with fair prices, superior quality customer service, don't pay the high prices at the dealership, take your Honda/Acura or Toyota to Indepdendent Auto Repair. This is the kind of shop that you'd feel good about recommending to your Mom. As Laura L. said, the Google Map directions steered my wrong too - all you need to do is go east on Lincoln Avenue from I-25 to S. Dransfeldt and make a right to the shop on the left of the street, a block or two South of Lincoln - it's in an auto repair complex that has a green sign out in front that says 10322 S. Dransfeldt (Auto Image, I believe is the lead business), and the shop is in the second bank of buildings on the left of the main driveway. read more

Amazing! I have been a loyal customer to the Acura dealership in Littleton. But customer service has fallen to the wayside. I made an appt at Independent Auto Care. We have a 2008 Acura RL AWD with 92,000 miles. Owner, Rick Greenlee, specializes in HONDA & ACURA, has a clean facility off Parker Rd in Parker, CO 303-840-4400. We have always lived 120+ miles from a Certified Acura Service Department and relied on Firestone to change liquids/brakes. HUGE mistake. Acura vehicles do best with Acura Parts. Called them before noon and Rick was able to take me in the afternoon. Usually, when you go get a brake job, you'll ending up with long list of stuff that need to be repaired, but not here! I saw that this place had a five star rating which is very rare for an automotive shop so I decided to give it a shot. I needed an oil change and I thought about getting the tires rotated as well and I had a concern about a noise coming from the A/C. They did the oil change and gave me a discount because they were running a special. They could have charged me full price and I wouldn't have ever known there was a discount available. They told me to wait on the tire rotation until the next time because they didn't feel it was quite time yet. Again, they could have just done it and charged me like most places would have. He was unable to hear the noise that I was concerned about, but he went ahead and did some research and found that there was a bulletin from the manufacturer describing exactly what I was talking about. The waiting area is clean and quiet and theres coffee, magazines, and a TV to kill the time. Speaking of time. I was there for a total of 35 minutes. No wonder the prices seem so reasonable, these guys work to get to the next job not to milk the clock and charge the customer. The integrity of the staff here is abundantly obvious. I'm sold on Independent Auto Care I will not go to any other auto repair shop. read more

I had to find another place to take my car to; I can't afford dealership prices for work anymore and the place I used to take it has seen their quality fall off the cliff. I was happy to find this shop close to my house to do my maintenance on my Civic. For the code which I had, if I had taken it to the dealership it would have cost $100 more than it did to get it done here. This shop is only open Monday to Friday and closes fairly early in the evening so getting my car to it is a bit of an inconvenience but for the savings I will put up with it. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly and professional. read more

This is a reliable & affordable place for acura/honda repair. This shop has serviced my '98 integra regularly (timing belt, water pump, brakes, 90k service, etc.) and the prices were always the lowest around with original honda parts. I went there to get an oil change, my car uses synthetic oil and I only need an oil change every 10,000 miles, after they changed my oil they said that I have to get my oil changed every 5,000 miles, I asked them why they say every 5,000 miles and when Toyota changes the oil it's every 10,000 miles? The guy got all huffy with me and said well if you want to go to Toyota then go ahead. read more

Not wanting to hassle with a Honda dealer I took a look at Yelp and decided to try Independant Auto Care. Call me old fashioned, but there is just something to be said when everythiong goes as discussed. I called the shop and talked to Rick about what the manufacturer recommended, what he suggested, and received an estimate of cost.
