Have taken many cars here and been happy with the service in the. past. Recently a thermostat went out in my Chevy Colorado. Because Adams Automotive have always seemed to have fair pricing I did not shop around. While they were repairing it I did some online searching that showed their cost to be about $400 more than what other people quoted. I spoke with them about this and the manager told the front desk person that he wouldn't budge. I do not know if there has been an ownership change or they are just getting greedy, but I will be looking elsewhere for my vehicle service. read more

We were driving through Colorado when our truck broke down. We had it towed to Adams on a Friday, late in the day. We had to take a hotel while we waited to hear what was wrong. They were able to squeeze us in on their bust Saturday. Unfortunately for us the motor was done. But we received excellent customer service and compassion. They let us leave the reuck there for a week while we figured out how to get it home (we live in Missouri). They didn't charge us to leave it there and they were kind enough to not charge us for the diagnostic fee, out of kindness for our situation. Been there twice now and very happy. I work on my own cars when I can, so I hate paying for things like light bulbs or oil changes. When I took my car this last time, I had both the check engine and check oil lights on. They thought they had to replace two sensors and quoted me accordingly. But when I picked up my car the bill was lower because one of the sensors was fine. It was just a bad wire. They had my OK and approval for the higher quote, yet they didn't do unnecessary work on my car to get more money. Who does that anymore?! I'm impressed. Thanks Chad and Adam's Automotive. We had been going to Adams for over 5 years and experienced a recent decline in service and quality. They missed a screw in a tire twice before plugging it. Plugs haven't been used in over 30 years as they fail and they are dangerous. My new "lifetime brakes" were not trued on the axle, meaning that on the truck they vibrate under moderate to heavy braking. On our last two visits they attempted to sell us shocks and then struts, which I validated with another mechanic as not requiring replacement. It seems as though they have let quality slip and are just going through the motions. I preferred the old service writers and the original quality of work. We have since found a new mechanic. Wow am I impressed! My vehicle was flashing and squawking that it was time for new brakes. What's worse is I had procrastinated having some other minor problems diagnosed and now my car was really starting to act up. Clearly, it was time to get it in the shop. When I finally spoke with a few repair places, the estimates that I received were astronomical! Upon the recommendation of a friend I tried Adams Automotive here in Castle Rock. They were terrific from the get go. They went over the car with a fine tuned comb and gave me a list of everything they found as well as a breakdown of costs to repair or replace all items in need. The estimate was less than half the rates other shops had quoted me....done! When I got my vehicle back it was like new...seriously. I cannot express how impressed I am with the quality of the work done, the price charged as well as the caring and expediency of this shop's manager. They have a customer for life! read more

I have three vehicles that I have serviced regularly. We used to take these to the dealership and after a few mishaps we decided to switch to Adams Automotive. Since switching, we have not only not had any mishaps, but the staff at Adams have been amazing. They have always been able to get our cars serviced the same day and I don't feel like they upsell me on useless services my cars don't need. I have had a van and two cars that all have over 100K miles serviced by them and all three vehicles have been running great and Adams have been able to take care of all of our service and repair needs without issue. They are an authorized Napa auto parts location and can usually get any parts needed within hours. I would highly recommend them for either repairs or services as I have have had nothing but great experiences with them for several years with all three of my vehicles. I bought a Ford Escape in July, and was very happy to have gotten a great deal. But a couple weeks later my car broke down, so I called Brandon Linderman. He got my car in right away, yay. It took them a little while to find the problem, but they did. They even found and fixed a steering pump leak for me and I didn't even know I had that problem. They ended up towing and fixing my car with "no" charge. This is an old school business with old school customer service. Hands down, THE BEST auto mechanic shop in town. I was referred to them and couldn't be happier with the quality of their service. As a young woman, mechanics often try to rip me off thinking I don't know anything about cars. It's such a relief to find a good, honest mechanic who does the repairs needed and doesn't recommend work that isn't needed just to milk me for money like SO many other auto shops try to do. I have been taking our cars here for the past year or 2 for minor services, oil changes and alignments. No complaint except I did notice a significant price increase within that time. Then my car wouldn't start and after some tests, they told me they were guessing it was the starter so I trusted them...I'm not the mechanic and they replaced it...$500, incidentally the same price as the dealer. A month later the car wouldn't start again. This time they determined it was the computer that wasn't shutting off and they downloaded updated software...$150. I asked if they would help me out on the labor on the starter repair because it wasn't the issue and they claimed because they told me they were guessing, they wouldn't refund any part of the previous repair. I can't afford guessing at $500 and I'm not very confident that this repair will fix the problem Time to move on. read more

I'm a weekend mechanic. I recently changed the front struts on my wife's car. What I didn't realize was the rears were struts as well since I have an older version of her car which has shocks, which are much easier to remove and replace. I made the attempt at removal of one side and realized quickly that it was more than I could handle in the time constraints I was working with. Adams was open Saturday and so I took the car in and had them complete the job I started because I made a mistake in removal. You never learn or get better unless you make mistakes. I learned an expensive lesson today. They were able to get the rear struts installed for me. They saved my backside today. One thing I did learn is that while I was told the mechanic had 40 years in the business, his experience with my make of car was a bit lacking, again no fault on their part. I would take that as they're more experienced with domestics. I was told he was a bit miffed at me which is fine too as he had the right to be. I'm not offended in the least. Not every day on the job will be an easy one for the mechanic or cheap for the customer such as me. Again, in the end the product they delivered to me was a working car with rear struts accurately in place and working correctly. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. COST ME THOUSANDS!!! WHAT A NIGHTMARE. I wish I too could give these people O stars. I live in Florida. I drove out to Denver just fine in an older Lincoln which was meticulously maintained and only had around 70K miles on it. The car ran great.. While there, I heard a noise and thought my compressor was going. The guy that ususally answers the phone is nice at first but then his true colors start to show when he gets sick of you wanting things done right. He said the A/C was fine but that I needed the following: oil pan, oil change, tranny refill, serpentine belt, inner tie rod, alignment. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't, but it cost me over $1000. When I left my "check coolant" light came on immediately but I checked it and it was not getting hot. He said bring it back when you can it probably just burped. So, the next day I take off to go to the mountains. I stop to get fuel only to see the tranny smoking and I check and there's no fluid! I walk miles to get fluid, put it in the car and return to his shop two days later (Monday). They work on the car, say the light's taken care of and there's no leaks from the tranny. So, I start home via Pueblo and I no sooner get there and the tranny is smoking and slipping again! I said, "your web site say's everything's under warranty", he says, "that's right" and gives me the number to call. Problem is, and this is actually fraud, they don't cover transmissions...Well every tranny place from Pueblo back to Denver wanted days and days to work on it; all saying it was probably pretty serious now that it's been getting so hot. I couldn't afford to keep paying hotel bills while I waited to shell out for a major transmission problem so I kept putting fluid in it and tried to make it home. I made it as far as St. Louis and then realized it would be too dangerous to try and make it much further. I had the title but no one wanted the car with transmission issues so I sold it to an auction yard for $800 (the car was immaculate with new Michelins) and paid almost that much to get home in a one way rental. That was the biggest rip off I've ever gone through and I used to be a Used Car Manager. I paid them over a thousand dollars to ruin my car. If you are gullible enough to use these guys, be forwarned, not only may things not be fixed right, they may be far worse than when you brought your car in in the first place. This a perfect example of how these review sites should be taken with a cubic yard of salt. I should sue them, but I'm back in FL and it was a work vehicle so I'll be deducting everything accordingly. read more

Three repairs and they got me in on the same day all three times. They are fast and as best I can tell they have really reasonable rates.

I hate to be the first bad review of Adams but I took my car there to have two transmission cooler lines replaced. I took them the 2 new lines. When I picked it up I immediately noticed there weren't installed correctly but didn't crawl underneath until I got home. The lines were bent so bad they were destroyed, one almost broken. One line was actually touching the exhaust pipe where it attaches to the header, the hottest part of the exhaust. This would have either destroyed the transmission or worn through the line and probably caught fire, hard to say which one first. Another line was pressing against the wiring for the starter. Other parts of it touching the undercarriage. It was really unbelievable to me that anyone with half a brain would not only cause damage like this but then give it to a customer, and call themselves a mechanic, ridiculous. In their defense it did get repaired correctly the next day, they did replace the new lines that they damaged. But I never once got a "sorry" or we "apologize for the inconvenience", nothing overly rude but more like an oh well attitude from Doug the manager. Then later I noticed I was also charged for two cans of de-greaser for $5.50 each which makes no sense because there is no grease under my car and no signs of it being used, nor any reason to use it for this job. So in closing had I not checked this work myself I would be replacing the transmission soon or watching my car burn to the ground from an oil fire. Needless to say, I will not return for any reason, you can't fix stupid and rude. read more
