Mike Desoyers used the credit card I gave him to pay himself $500 without my consent. He only had my credit card to pay my new premium. I have called, send texts and emails regarding this, and now Mike has completely ghosted me. I will file a lawsuit if the money he stole is not returned immediately. I am also reporting him to the Attorney Generals office in addition to the BBB. The website clearly states there is NO CHARGE for their services. I am so angry. I take no pleasure in rating a small business so harshly. The abridged description of the events that spanned over a week will justify the rating. My recount of the events that led to this review can be substantiated. First, let us start with the premise that those who employ an insurance agent/broker do so because of the complexity of insurance plans, and figuring out which one suits your needs. An insurance agent should be familiar with the nuances of a plan, if this is something one could navigate solely then presumingly an agent would not be necessary. During open enrollment, I purchase an Individual Plan from an agent who sold me my previous year's plan. Other than an address change, the agent confirmed that all my information and specifications for my new plan would be the same. Based on the information that I received I purchased the plan. I was sold the wrong plan. I did choose an HMO policy, which I was informed requires a referral from my PCP. Here is the caveat I was not told to me that I needed to find a New PCP in one of the far western suburbs of Illinois where NM has other facilities. The closest facility to my location is 27 miles, whereas the location I used and requested is only 2 miles away from my residence. The proximity of my residence to where all my doctors are located was non-negotiable, nor was changing the existing doctors that I've seen for years. This was so important to me that I stressed this to the agent In an attempt to change the policy, I reached out to the agent that sold me the plan. He informed me that he sold me the right plan for NM, that I needed to choose a PCP (after I told him that I already had one), and needed to change the hospital from the one stated on my insurance card, and this could be accomplished contacting the insurance company directly. The representative from the insurance company informed me that my policy is not accepted where all my doctors are located. I spoke with 3 different agents at iHealth and I was met with jeers, insults, and no responses to emails from both me and my lawyer. The manager's behavior was curt, rude, condescending, and placated me. He stated that he would make an appeal for policy change with the insurance company. When I asked what would the timeframe be for an appeal, I was told "If you keep me on the phone any longer then it will take more time". He made ridiculous statements in defense of their business malpractice. One example, the manager stated that NM sometimes does not post the accepted Individual plan until past the open enrollment season. I refuted this by stating that would be impossible, imagine the lawsuit they would encounter. There were a couple of others that were equally nonsensical. As a result of the manager's poor communication, and ongoing disrespectful and dismissive attitude, I felt the need to provide others with this Yelp review. Please note this is the second time I posted a similar review of this agency. Ironically, as soon as I posted my original review my phone rang- funny the manager can respond quickly. I was given an ultimatum stating that if I don't take down the review he will refuse to make an appeal to the insurance company to change my coverage prior to open enrollment. I asked what is the timeframe for the appeal, and I was told "If you keep me on the phone any longer then the appeal will take longer", this from the manager. I have no update, nor do I expect to receive any, that would require a modicum of professionalism. I deleted the review. In short: (1) I was sold the wrong insurance policy. (2) The agent refused to respond to my urgent emails. (3) complete disrespect for clientele, even an agent jeered at me visa vie an online chat. (4) The manager lacks managerial skills and an understanding of good customer service. Note, I purposely left out the names of the employees involved only to spare them the embarrassment of their behavior. read more

I called because my daughter suddenly had her ACA health insurance canceled. I needed to help her get it reinstated since she could not accomplish that on her own because of a mental disability. Jasmine quickly researched the reason for cancelation and determined that the information we had directly from the ACA was either incorrect or misunderstood by my daughter. We now know what to do to fix the error. The solution came from Jasmine who was competent in her knowledge of the ACA and very polite and helpful to me. And she dealt beautifully with my hearing difficulties repeating herself frequently when I could net hear her words! Following an Internet search we were able to talk with Mike Desnoyers who was incredibly well informed on K1 Visa holders health insurance questions and policies. Following a few telephone calls and texts we selected a short term (12 months) policy that we feel will provided needed health coverage while we wait for the next steps in the immigration process. My two sisters and I were looking for a way to save money on my father's expensive prescription medications. He lives in Illinois and we live out of state. Andrew had an online tool and ran my father's medications through it to determine which plan would offer the lowest cost between premiums and out-of-pocket on specific medications.
