I need to report an extremely disturbing experience at a Nordstrom Rack store during a recent visit…read morewith my husband. We were shopping for outfits for our son's graduation, which should have been a positive and memorable occasion. Instead, I was subjected to unprofessional, confrontational, and ultimately abusive behavior by a fitting room associate. Upon approaching the fitting room, I followed the associate's directions regarding where to place my cart, although her instructions were inconsistent and unclear. Inside the dressing room, I found a shirt that had been left behind by a previous customer. After trying on approximately seven items, I returned them to hangers and exited the fitting room. At that point, the associate demanded that I remove and hang the shirt that I had not brought into the dressing room. I explained that it was not mine. She became visibly frustrated, entered the room herself, and then shifted her focus to insisting that I return all of my items to the exact locations on the sales floor where I had found them. I placed the clothing neatly on the rack provided near the fitting room, which is standard practice in most retail stores. I declined to return the items to the sales floor, as that is typically handled by store staff to ensure proper organization. The situation escalated significantly when the associate followed me out of the fitting area and toward the front of the store, continuing to confront me. She then called me a "horrible human being" and used an additional demeaning term toward me. Racially motivated ! Being followed and verbally insulted while exiting the store was both shocking and unacceptable. I think she forgot what her job actually was and that was too curate the clothing, and to rehang them up she had the nerve to continue following me and would have exited the store to follow me. Had someone else stopped her I am a 50-year-old customer who has shopped in retail stores my entire life, and I have never experienced anything remotely like this. This interaction was not only unprofessional but crossed the line into harassment. this incident be investigated thoroughly. No customer should be treated in this manner under any circumstances. I would also appreciate a response outlining what steps will be taken to address this situation and ensure it does not happen to others. Huge thumbs down to this store and this horrible little twit

This was a Lion and Tigers and Bears OH MY situation! It's quite crowded in here. Not cluttered but crowded. They have soooo much stuff and it's all in order. This place could be 2-3 floors easy!! I saw all of my fav brands at great prices. They have a huge selection of high-end wear for a great price. They have a huge selection of summer, spring and winter wear. The cosmetics and body care... chef's kiss!! They have everything in every color/ scent/ size!! Cool accessories, luggage galore, etc. I did not take a gander at the shoes as I had a show nearby to attend. I bought 2 gorge blouses and a short sleeve loose fitting denim blue top. I will revisit very soon for some more shopping greatness.

It only gets better! One of the employees (Krista) noticed that there was a small fix that needed to be done on the shoulder. Before I could even blink she had a seamstress in from a local shop, who came and got the dress to repair on their dime. I honestly didn't notice the issue until Krista pointed it out, she's got an eagle eye. Krista was amazing at coordinating the dress pickup a few days later. I couldn't get out of calls from work so she got the dress delivered to me! I cannot get over how amazing they are, and will ALWAYS recommend Ella Rue. Consider me a customer for life!

Their home decor consists of mirrors, pottery and glass pieces (including Polish pottery) and plenty of evil eyes. The owner is always very friendly and he told me they are doing fantastic in this new location, which makes me happy.

Can a place be banned for odor pollution? Seriously, as soon as you walk out of the metro this place lands a Patchouli-punch in your face. No, it's more like a Street Fighter II combo kick to the nose. I get it. You have incense. Great. If I wanted some I'd come inside. But guess what? I'm eating outside at Italian Pizza Kitchen and what I didn't order was the Lotus-Blossum-Sandalwood-pepperoni pie. Give me a break! Even eating indoors, next door at District Kitchen, feels like you're dining in an incense den. As if there weren't enough reasons to run from Woodley Park (tourists and the restaurants that cater to them), I have to, literally, hold my breath while waiting to cross Connecticut Ave. I'm not impressed with your smells... but the silks are lovely. read more

This place smells up the whole block with their incense - it's insanely intense. I can't even enjoy dinner next door, inside, at District Kitchen die to the smell. If there was such a thing as noise pollution they would be guilty of it in the third degree. read more

When I first started consigning, I was told that if there was something I *really* didn't want donated, I could let them know. If they decided not to sell that item, I was obligated to come back immediately to get it. I thought that was a nice thing to do, especially since it creates good will with their consigners. One of the last times that I consigned, I explained to the shop-person that there was a piece I wanted to hold onto if they didn't want to sell it, and I was given some eyerolls and told that this is not something Secondi does. They did complete a quick assessment for me, which I appreciated, but the attitude around it made me feel very uncomfortable. It might be helpful if all the shop folks were on the same page about guidelines! Otherwise, Secondi has been around since I was in high school (and probably even before that), so it's a real DC institution. It's one of the most well known consignment shops in DC, and I do think they do a great job curating their wares and they do not sell mass-market/lower quality items.

I stumbled across this shop after almost two years of working right by it and never noticing it…read morebefore, as it's in an apartment building with only a small sign indicating that there's a consignment shop inside. The store is really small, but I was really excited upon walking in, as the racks were really well stacked-they manage to cram lots of clothes, shoes, purses and accessories into that small space. I'm used to consignment shops in DC being fairly upscale though, and so I was surprised to see lots of mid-range labels-Jones New York and Anne Klein and the like. What shocked me most was when I spotted a pair of shoes which I recognized immediately as being from Payless, as I happen to own the exact same pair. The people working there must not be familiar with the label, as the shoes were marked at $25, whereas I bought them new for $18.99. In fact, I got the impression that as a whole, they weren't very knowledgeable about labels, as lots of inexpensive brands seemed to be overpriced. There were bargains to be had though, as some things seemed to be very under-priced. A $15 Zara skirt comes to mind (sadly a couple sizes too small for me though), as does a cashmere Sacs cardigan, which would have been a bargain were it not for the hideous bright pink color. Like many consignment shops, you could potentially find some great deals here if you have a lot of time and patience and have a basic idea of how much various labels are worth. Additionally, it could be a great place to consign if you have a lot of stuff that doesn't quite meet the standards of Secondi or some of the other more upscale consignment stores in the area, but want to try to make a few bucks rather than just donating it to Goodwill.

They weren't rude, they were actively not friendly. Who's this boutique for? Your one friend in the world who has an unlimited bank account? I also got a ring and I really need to go back to see the new-style Indian shoes that have grippy bottoms, and other small things I haven't gotten a chance to see as of yet .... The woman running the shop stayed open late to help me find a lehenga that I could wear without significant alterations. While the shop isn't huge, there were a couple of different options that met my requirements. She made a small on the spot alteration to adjust the top to fit me better and invited me to come back later for a free more thorough job. I wish I'd gotten her name, but she was a lifesaver!
