I have been wanting to visit India Bazaar since I found out they sell Old Spice shaving cream. I first stopped at the chaat bar. I had no idea what the items on the menu were, other than samosas, so I asked the lady to choose something for me. She was very friendly, and asked what my spice preference was. She ended up making me some Aloo Tikki Chaat, and it was very good. She told me I could try another kind next time, and I agreed I would certainly come back! They are reorganizing the store right now, so many of the products were stacked in carts, but another girl helped me find some shaving cream. Unfortunately they were out of Old Spice, but she found some Dettol cream, so I got it, as I have read good reviews for it. Great price. I ended up also getting some rose water for my wife, and a couple of packs of cookies. If I had more time I would have looked around more, but I honestly had no idea what many of the products were. To answer some of the negative reviews; they did seem to have a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. In fact, most of the people in the store were stocking up on veggies. Maybe they go pretty quickly? And everyone I spoke to spoke English well enough. They were all friendly and helpful. Not too quick to smile, but I think that's just a cultural thing. Nobody was rude. I'll definitely come back here for more chaat, and some ghee and other things I recognized. I might even learn to make some Indian dishes! read more

The supervisor at Richardson store was rude, arrogant and useless. He did not know about his company's survey program, which gave me a 10% discount coupon. He refused to scan and kept arguing and arguing, before gave up. The cashier also said that he is rude to him too. I wonder, how they employ useless people, unless it must be a family store and a bad apple from their family must be hired. They should take a page of good customer service from a good American store. No complaint about the grocery products offered at the store, but the customer service is awful and extremely bad. read more

Let me just say , I strictly came in here not knowing this was a grocery store . When I read "Bazaar " groceries didn't come to mind . Anyhow, I was looking for specific incense and they didn't have them , so I just browsed . I was impressed by the huge bags of rice! LOL, like industrial size rice bags . There was also a restaurant inside to buy cooked food. There wasn't a lot that caught my interest , but I did find some Vanilla and Cardamom Essences (Same as extracts ) for only 99 cents ! And they have more that the usual flavors, which I can't find in other stores . I will be back just for those :) read more

We LOVE the India Bazaar!! Two in the family love Indian food and we come here to buy all of it :) When we are lucky, we come at snack time and get a samosa for the small chaat bar inside the store. When we haven't planned as well, we get a pack of Indian sweets and an exotic basil seed drink for later. Everything we need (even the really exotic stuff) is easily found at the India bazaar. This is like the dollar store or Walmart of India maybe? They had a lot of food items but thats not what I came for. -- I came in search of Henna to try using on my hair and there were many options stacked along the wall. I'm not sure how long the items have been on the shelf, or how old the items were but, they did the trick. Don't expect anyone to ask if you're finding everything alright, or to receive a smile while checking out. This is a come in, grab what you need, get out type of establishment. This India Bazaar location is brand new and several weeks old. I needed some colors for Holi so I decided to try it out. When I walked in the store I was greeted by the front cashier. The store is very clean, the isles are wide and the store has a great selection of goods. Checking out was easy and everything rung up at the correct prices. The cashier was very friendly and bagged my good separating my colors from my food items. The only draw back is that they do not sell Bollywood DVDs but they do rent them in a self serve DVD machine. I am a fan and will be shopping there again. read more

India Bazaar will now be my go-to place for anything remotely having to do with me making an Indian dish. I love their packaged Paneer Butter Masala and my wife is a fan of their Palak Paneer (the brand names illude me right now). If you can't find the Basmati or Jasmine rice you want here, then it must not exist; their selection is mind-blowing. Not only do they multiple types of different rices, if you need a 20 lbs bag of it, BINGO, you're in the right place. Amazing selection of anything and everything you could want relating to the cuisine of India and the surrounding areas. If you're a potato chip fan, try their selection of Lays No self checkout, but the employees at the checkout are very friendly and quick. read more

My wife loves tea from India. I went here to find some. I was overwhelmed by the wonderful scents as you walk into the store. I have been to India several times and just love the unique smells that you experience in an Indian market. I was able to recall my time in India just by walking down the isles and inhaling the exotic spice fragrance. I found the tea that I was looking for but there is so much more here. I wish I knew how to prepare Indian food, it looks like I could find all of the ingredients right here. read more

So this message is directly for the manager on duty for yesterday in the evening. There were 2 ladies that exceeded my expectations with our non typical desi grocery store customer service. I had an issue with my lone star card (ebt). That I was issued during this whole pandemic. The cashier called over the downstairs manager and then went up the stairs to get another manager. I really thought that it was just a matter of putting some money back on my Store account that I had accumulated. (SHOP HERE AND YOU GET POINTS THAT WILL GET YOU CASH BACK TOWARDS YOUR NEXT PURCHASE) So I called my husband to come get the cart and start loading. When manager looked into it apparently the card or the cashier accidentally voided the transaction. Well she tried to do everything possible to resubmit the transaction but was unable. The only other option was to scan everything again. So I nervously went back to the car to get all my groceries. Brought them back inside. And the 2 ladies worked fast and efficiently scanning and baging. They were apologizing and probably saw my tears starting to form in my eyes. I had done about 3 months of shopping. So I had a lot. Since I haven't been to the store. See I have a low immune system. So my husband did majority of shopping at American stores. This wasmy first time out. Yes I may have bought the whole store...but our family needs it. Oh my what does this have to do with anything...back to my review. Many other desi stores would probably not have cared so much and asked me to use some other form of payment. But these 2 ladies really showed how the new generation of shopping in a desi store will be. She saw the worry in my eyes and even was trying to help me take the groceries out to the car. I declined. And i never got to turn around and smile or even say thank you because I was trying to rush to my car. And I was wearing a mask so she wouldnt have been able to see my smile of thanks. It was late so we needed to get home. Everyone was required to wear a mask at this establishment. Great prices, and great fresh products. I wish I had their names. If you are lucky enough to live close by and visit one of their locations, do it. They have all sorts of Indian groceries you wont find at Wal-Mart or Kroger. Keep in mind some items are pricey since a lot of what they have is imported. They have pretty fresh produce, and they have all the spices you need to make any type of curry. The hot deli is the highlight of the store, where you can have samosas and chat at anytime. Its super cheap and super tasty. Does a grocery store really deserve five stars? Wellll, yes, even if for no other reason than this: it plays the best music! Sure, sure, you can get a 14lb. bag of raisins here and garlic paste by the gallon (not really but almost!), but the music is the icing on the cake. The variety of foods here is good, as are the prices. But if you don't eat this kind of stuff, you'll have very little reason to shop here. read more

Im a fan! Very organized, lots in stock, freezer full of yummy goods. Im not sure what I'll do with 10lbs of almonds but will and must find a way!! If I could give it 0 stars I would. I ordered items from this place online and they have the WORST customer service ever. I ordered 6 items - was never given an update on when they would be shipped, and was told different information whenever I called - either they didn't have enough items, they were going to send me a substitute (which I didn't want and was never asked about), and when I finally got my shipment, I was only sent 4 items, not 6 as I was told. I called to speak to the manager and was told she would call me back in 30 minutes (still hasn't called) and the person on the phone wouldn't even give me the manager's name, which is very strange and seems quite shady. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE - it's very disorganized and you will end up regretting it. And if you have an issue, you will never be able to talk to anyone who can solve the problem because the people that work there are incapable of thinking and won't even let you talk to the manager - could be because that is the manager and that's quite pathetic in itself. read more

I love this location. I've been to most other India Bazaar (Irving, South Irving and Plano) and this one has been in its best. Its clean and very well organized. Mostly friendly customer service (4 stars) and the chaat is pretty decent (4 stars) for its price. The rest, you name the Indian product and you will definitely find it here. I shop here twice a week and the price I pay here is for sure less than other Indian grocery shops. Occasionally they bring up some good sales and love the $20 discount when you reach a certain purchase limit. read more

Good place to get groceries and snacks. Their produce is cheaper and packaged goods are reasonably price. Always check the expire date of the good before you throw them in your cart, a must do for any indian grocery store. They do have a snack bar and make fresh to order indian snacks and have $.99 cent deals and they taste good too. read more

India Bazaar offers many hard to find items that other Indian grocers often lack, while it may be difficult for many as myself some years back to use and utilize much of what they offer, it can become a cornucopia of culinary wonder with a little translation. Many of their items have a translated meaning so ignorant/non-informed people such as myself can tell what the item is. Case in point Sooji equals semolina. read more

I really love this store. It's huge, well stocked, and clean. Other Indian markets in the area were lacking, but this one does the trick. Lots of produce in the back and it's cheap. I can easily stock my refrigerator for $20. I haven't had their chaats yet but there's always a line and people sitting to eat them. Great store! Always happy when I get to walk around in here and see what else they have. I love Indian but I cook mostly Arab and Persian dishes and can easily find what I need and more. Even slightly harder to find staples like tamarind paste and every type of flour and rice I need. Best part is they have more than one brand of everything so I can bargain shop as needed. I go to India Bazaar, different locations, many times for grocery and other stuff. But when ever I have purchased lentils from these stores, it's too bad to eat. I wash lentils before cooking as almost people do. I saw red color from kidney beans, yellow color in split moong dal and too many stones in horse gram. Now I don't buy any lentils from India Bazaar stores. Other stuff is fine. read more
