It was warm and muggy when I walked but it isn't a big deal. First off, you cannot compare this place to HMart!!! They are completely different grocery stores because this one is 100% Korean and it's older. It is clean but it could be cleaner. All items sold at this store are in Korean and a little bit of English. There are English speaking people here (not a lot of them) however everyone does speak Korean which is fine by me because the staff were very very kind! Also, they do not sell fresh herbs or produce. Most of their food sold are packaged or frozen which come straight from Korea. They do have fresh meats and fish but I personally wouldn't buy meats here. All the fresh produce that they have like apples or Napa cabbage which aren't kept in coolers. They are on the floor around the open freezers which was odd because the store itself was not cold, it was warm throughout the store and I went here when it was 50 degrees outside. There array of numerous choices of frozen products are AWESOME! I will come back to buy dumplings and kimche and the selling point of this grocery store is that the prices are GOOD! for authentic imported Korean products, prices are so reasonable which is the best selling point of this place. Just so you know, the country is Myanmar (formerly Burma), but its adjective is still Burmese. The selection is pretty good, and handy if you plan on cooking Thai or Burmese dishes. It looks like a small market from the outside, and even when you step in - but they have a lot of stuff in the freezers in the back - but they're old-school freezers that you have to open the hatch up to see what's inside. Well, luckily I did and I could see they have a plethora of frozen fishes, and even frogs. They seem to have everything basic, and also game meats, to make any kind of dish a Burmese could request for - but I wouldn't know for sure. But really, this place could use some dressing up. And it would look a lot less tacky if they would stop doubling their store as some kind of phone business. That said, I feel like this place really deserves a fair and balanced review because it's definitely a hit or miss. Over the years, I've learned you have to be very careful when shopping here. I've come across packaged spices and snacks that were already expired, and in some cases, it even looked like new dates were printed over old ones. The quality didn't help either, the taste and texture were clearly off. Even with staples like lentils, it's worth double checking before buying. One experience that really stood out was when my dad bought cinnamon sticks from here. He was convinced they were fake because they literally tasted like plain wood...no aroma, no flavor, nothing. He was so frustrated that we actually went back to return them, even though we didn't end up getting a refund. Another ongoing issue is pricing at checkout. I've noticed multiple times that I've been overcharged, never less, always more. Sometimes I've been charged multiple times for a single item. When I've gone back to point it out, the response is usually just a quick apology, and nothing is really done to fix it. Because of this, I've started checking my receipt before I even leave the store. That said, I do want to highlight something positive. Recently, they opened a pani puri stand, and it was genuinely impressive. It tasted just like authentic street-style pani puri, fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying. i visited two h-marts and i like this new one on royal better…read more came here a few times as I was staying nearby and interestingly, there is a day time strip club pretty much across from it. this area looks to be getting korean-fied... there is alot of restaurants and even ktv.. and a big bathhouse asia style.... back to this supermarket, plaza, food court. it just seems much newer than the one at carrollton. the food court has the same vendors. i think it is pre-set. i thought the food inside the h-mart like the sushi and stuff seems better at this location, like the kimbap and slice jokbal. it has smaller portions. at the other location, its a whole damn pigfeet like $30+ bucks. here, they have smaller slice portions for like $10 bucks, i forgot, just not the whole big a** pigfeet... better get ready for the 4pm rush.. that's when they do the 50% discount on nearly all the ready food items... there are ajummas that come and hoard nearly everything.

I absolutely love Meat Larb and Papaya Salad, and I also picked up some small sticky rice and a container of cabbage pickle. I remember the gentleman at the counter quoted me around $42.00 for everything, which seemed right based on what I ordered. When I paid by card, I honestly didn't get a clear view of the amount on the terminal, and I was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn't think to ask for a receipt at the time. I totally regret that now! It wasn't until I checked my bank statement a couple days later that I noticed a charge of $282.20 from Overseas Market. As you can imagine, I was pretty surprised, as it's quite a bit more than the $42.00 I was expecting. Spoke with the man by the phone he said I don't have a receipt and refused to work with me. At this point he left me no choice I got back online and did a partial dispute. This type of incident can happen to anyone so, please ask for a receipt and take time to look at it.
