Once inside, there was a fish counter on the left side that featured live seafood and sashimi grade fish. I got some bluefin tuna at $29.99 a pound. Quality was good and the price was comparable to other specialty markets. I also got some ripe avocados for $1.19 each, which was way cheaper than Safeway. Aside from fresh seafood and produce, they appeared to carry a good variety of Asian staples. However, I was unable to check out that area because a shopper lost her pearl earring and multiple workers were helping her to find it. :-P This is a good place to shop if you live in the area, especially if you don't want to drive to Concord or Dublin for Asian items. 4 stars.

I've almost been hit several times and have had to honk to avoid accidents. The parking lot layout itself doesn't help, making what should be a quick grocery trip much more stressful than it needs to be. If you're a newer or less confident driver, this parking lot definitely isn't beginner-driver friendly--it can be pretty overwhelming, especially during busy hours.

I tried using a Safeway raincheck that been issued to me when salmon fillets were on sale and they were out of stock at the store I went to. After selecting the fillets and waiting in line to check out, I showed the cashier the raincheck. The cashier looked at the raincheck and told me that they could not accept it because it had been issued at a different store. She referred to the store number on the raincheck. I have several thoughts about this interaction. 1) Not a single Safeway customer knows the store number of any of the stores they shop at. They might have a preferred store close to home, but most customers probably shop occasionally at a different Safeway near work or a friend's or elsewhere. 2) Not only does the raincheck not say anything about only being accepted only at the store where it was issued; it lists 12 partner stores that should also accept it! Safeway's own policy (https://www.safeway.com/foru/coupon-policy.html - see #25) clearly states that rainchecks will be accepted at any Albertsons banner store that has the specific item in stock. 3) Even setting all of this aside, I was in disbelief that the cashier would prefer to have the salmon (that, for what it is worth, had been packaged a couple days earlier and had to be sold soon) continue sitting out rather than purchased by a customer. If you have any decent alternative, I would avoid this Safeway entirely.
