Been a few years since I've been to Branson. Liked this restaurant last visit so I decided to come back. Fortunately , I had essentially the same experience. Ended up trying out the chicken tikka masala, dal makhani, chicken biryani and chicken tandoori. The chicken tikka masala was great, although the flavor of gravy was a bit more watered down compared to the paneer tikka masala I had a few years ago. The dal makhani and biryani were both delicious and had the right amount of spice in them (not too bland or spicy). The chicken tandoori (pieces of chicken on a hot plate) was okay, although could have had more seasoning to it. As for service, it was great as the food was bought out only about 10-15 minutes after ordering it. Overall, the restaurant was still good and does retain its 4/5 rating! read more

I was in town for a Tuesday night on business. I didn't want to go to any of the tourist places and the Yelp reviews were pretty solid so I gave it a chance. You can't get lamb in most places so I was looking forward to a lamb dish. I took my time looking over the menu and asked the server what he recommended. He went straight to the chicken items. I told him I would prefer a lamb dish and he said they were out of lamb. That was disappointing. I went with his recommendation of Chicken Tikki Masala #53. The food came out pretty quickly. The bowl of chicken and rice were both decent size. He also brought out some garlic naan. The chicken was excellent. The sauce was flavorful and the chicken was very tender. I was able to cut every piece of chicken without a knife. The garlic naan was very good. The garlic slivers must go on the dough before the dough goes in the oven. They were not crunchy but they were firm and added good texture. My only issue with the meal was the naan. Not the food but the bill. I'm not sure if the server said it and I missed it, or if he didn't say it but I was charged for the naan. When I went with his recommendation I thought I was getting #53. When the bill came there were 2 items, #53 and garlic naan. It was $3 or $4 so it want a huge deal. I just thought it could have been communicated better. The next time I'm in town, I'd rather come back here than go to one of the tourist traps around town. read more

The food, the owner, the staff, and the atmosphere are all fantastic! We been here twice, once for takeout and once dine in with friends, both times were excellent! We are always on the lookout for good South Asian food which is not easy to find in parts of rural America, but India Clay Oven met all of our expectations. The curries are delicious and the flavoring and heat from the spices is spot on. My wife likes the milder side while I enjoy more heat and they did it to perfection. During our 1 week trip here we ate at India Clay Oven twice. We travel often and few places, while on vacation, see our faces twice. It is that good! We've eaten Indian food all over the country (and our daughter-in-law law is second generation Indian) and this establishment is second to none. Both experiences were full house and we were still served a full dinner in a hour. Naan bread is beyond compare- especially the "filled" offerings. Had seen the billboard a few times and finally on a Branson getaway we checked it out for lunch. Warmly greeted by who I imagine was the owner and sat it what was a clearly busy and popular place. We started with the vegetable samosas and mulligatawny soup, both delicious. Side of yummy papadums. Entrees arrived piping hot, chicken curry served hot and butter chicken served medium with fluffy rice and fluffy garlic naan bread. Have not had a truly delicious butter chicken like this for many years, was perfect. Chicken curry was spicy hot and delicious. Restaurant was clean and staff were polite and hard working. Owner seemed confused when I asked him if it was possible to get a traditional chicken curry with bones in it. Having grew up with close Indian friends I know they don't eat boneless skinless chicken breasts, this has been adopted for the mainstream audience. Can't wait to return. read more

We love Indian food. As frequent travelers, we've tried it in many different states. Branson doesn't have a ton of unique dining options (so many mom and pop diners) so Indian felt like a good bet. I give it 3.5 stars--our family of five all agreed that we enjoy our hometowns Indian offerings more, but this was decent. The staff was friendly and prompt. Our group was a little crowded in a booth, and we ordered so much we had no room on the table. Highlights were the vegetable samosas, and the nice kick of spice all the dishes had. I'd steer clear of the salty Lasi, and the chicken tikki naan. The flavors just didn't gel on either of those items. But overall, we left full and happy. And the waiter even gave us a pudding to go as a thank you! read more

I was disappointed that I got the mild because it truly had no spice at all, but you never know! Mild is definitely for the no spice folks here; maybe try the medium if you are looking for some spice :) they kindly gave me a complimentary dessert to take home after we paid! On a little vaca and was in the mood for some Indian comfort food, this place had really good reviews online and have to agree with everyone. We ordered take out and was very impressed, fresh good flavor , very large portions. We ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka, Curry chicken, tandoori chicken, samosas and garlic naan. The service was fantastic, took our order and said it would be 20 min so we waited in the car, the host came out to our vehicle with the food in less than 15 minutes, he didn't have to do that it was like 15 degrees outside super windy, that's great service. This is a must if you're visiting the Branson area and you are -vegetarian -vegan -not big on pork / beef / barbecue -lactose intolerant or if you have any other dietary restrictions that make finding a substantial meal in this region difficult. Excellent food quality of course, fabulous service, really reasonable prices - it was a lighthouse-in-the-storm moment for us when looking for a good meal started to feel like a headache.
