After reading the reviews, I had to try this place while staying in Branson. It was so good on the first day, I ate there the very next day, too! Day 1: Line waiting to get in. 15 minutes passed fast as I was talking with some folks that were eating there for their 4th day in a row. They invited me to sit with them, and we had a wonderful conversation. Literally made new friends before ever eating a bite. The coffee was very good. My eggs benedict was very good, not excellent but still yummy. Our server forgot my orange juice which I remembered hours later. Checked my receipt and I did pay for it. Day 2: No line. I opted to sit upstairs as the downstairs is noisy due to the crowd. Upstairs was quiet and the view is beautiful from up there, too. I had the eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns with biscuit and gravy. All were very good, but I'll pass on the biscuits and gravy next time. Again, the coffee was very good and the server brought the OJ I didn't get the day before. Servers are very good and friendly. Super busy handling a lot of orders. Overall, they get 5 stars. The owner stopped and said hello and she's very friendly as well. The overall feeling of the place is all are welcome; families, couples, and singles. Food was served quickly so it was easy to be in and out and on my way. Paying at the time of ordering is great! No waiting on the ticket to pay so you can get up and leave much faster. Tipping can be done at the time of the order or afterwards. Gift the server cash and they'll appreciate it. Parking is easy right out front. Use caution pulling out onto the highway when leaving. Some folks drive that road like it's a racetrack. The restroom is right at the front door which is convenient. It's nice and clean. Pricing in comparable to other places in Branson. I didn't try their cinnamon rolls because nothing could beat the cinnamon rolls at Cinnamon Nook A Small Batch Bakery a short distance from Steamy Joe Cafe. Next time I'm in the area, I will be back to Steamy Joe Cafe. read more

We came here today for breakfast. It took a server good 10 minutes to come to us to get our order and few extra minutes after that to get our water. After that someone constantly popped by the table to check or to chat. This was our first experience of table service where we were asked to pay and tip right away. It's like, we have not have a cup of water yet, but here is a tip thing? Husband got fancy coffee that he enjoyed and a stuffed French toast that he said was great. A Disappointing Experience in Branson I believe it is yet another time I fell victim to the positive reviews of a restaurant, and this time it happened in Branson during a recent customer meeting. My experience was nothing short of horrendous, and I regret spending any money whether mine or my company's on food that was absolutely terrible in taste. The atmosphere was chaotic, with staff constantly moving around, yet they seemed utterly useless when it came to basic tasks like drink refills. It was frustrating to watch them bustle about without addressing the needs of the customers. To make matters worse, you pay upfront and tip in advance. This means you have no opportunity to evaluate the service before parting with your money, leaving you feeling trapped. You can't express appreciation for good service or condemn bad service when you've already committed to tipping. If you find yourself visiting Branson, I would advise you to steer clear of this café. It truly is the last place you want to stop unless you are desperate for something to eat. If that's the case, just grab a few slices of bread and move on. Overall, it was a terrible experience in every way. Save your time and money for a place that values its customers and provides decent food. read more

3.4 star out of 5 for my visit. Due to lots of hype this was our second attempt to eat here the day before the wait time was over 45 minutes so we came back to try again and got in within 30 minutes for our party of 5. 3 Adults one teen one 5 year old. They have many reasons for the low review during my experience. Once we were given a table and seated our drink orders were taken about 5 minutes in not bad however it went down from thier. We ordered two cortados two iced coffees a chocolate milk and sweet tea. The water came then 10 minutes later one cortado and one iced coffee came. The about 8 min later the chocolate milk abd ice tea followed by the last ice coffee and my cortado as well. What I witnessed was people coming in to order drinks from the person making coffees and then waiters and waitresses putting orders in so they would bounce between people ordering just a drink and people dining in for breakfast This is not a fluid concept and if that is not what is suppose to take place it is what I physically saw causing delays in drinks to people's tables and servers. We ordered a variety of items but it was a small type of breakfast items. The food came out about 35 minutes into service. The kids pancakes were done well and the chicken salad sandwich was fresh, the broccoli chedder soup was good as well. I had a platter with smothered hash browns, ham, 2 eggs and a biscuit and gravy due to the hype for the homemade biscuits. My eggs had three instead of two on the account one broke and they cooked another to put on top of the broken one. The hash browns had a burned edge and then raw middle so to high heat i guess the worst thing was waiting for the food and then main star the biscuit and gravy came out. They lost me fully with the biscuit and gravy. The gravy was cold and the biscuit during my second bite tasted too raw upon using my butter knife to cut the biscuit in half it slid out raw with batter from the under done biscuit. Being a foodie this broke my heart - she asked me if I would like a whole new biscuit I said no thank you. Upon further request if everything was fine they still insisted on bringing another one to try. That biscuit did have a flaky buttery top half with hot gravy almost redemption worthy then I took a bite from the other bottom half and it was raw so I gave up. The ham was tasting off so I did not finish it to follow my own instinct. Now I paid for everything they had offered to take it off my bill however I came for the full real experience of this place and declined. This is still worth going too and trying my experience though is mine and mine alone which has made me consider other options in the area moving forward. We actually were heading to another breakfast spot when we spotted this one on the road, the other place was closed so we circled back. The line was pretty long but moved quickly, you could also wait outside but it was cold as heck. Once seated the servers are friendly and talk about the menu items in good detail. I personally loved the stuffed hashbrown- the flavor was amazing and went really well with hot sauce from the table. My partner and I were in Branson on vacation this past weekend and I was jonesing for some good breakfast I did a quick google and this place caught my eye. When we got here you could tell it was busy but our wait only ended up being maybe 20 minutes. I will say that the server we ended up with was not very friendly at all but I don't like discounting a place to eat just because a server had a bad attitude. As other reviews mention, you do pay BEFORE you get your food which is different than most sit down restaurants but it didn't bother me too much. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and it was so delicious; fair warning as it is a sugar bomb but I would order again in a heartbeat but a smaller portion for sure. I also got a caramel latte which might be the best one I've had EVER. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area and will be back again for another vacation! read more

We had just wrapped up our Branson, Missouri vacation and were getting ready for the 10 hour drive back to New Orleans. Located directly next door to The Bradford; a bed & breakfast, this charming wood framed restaurant is very inviting. This is counter service with a charm, as the staff were very inviting. We were seated in a glass atrium styled dining room that offered incredible views of the Ozark Mountains. While we waited for our food, I was pleasantly pleased at how delicious the coffee was. In fact, it was so good, it immediately brought me back to the movie Pulp Fiction when Samuel L. Jackson's character (Jules) stated "G0d damn Jimmy, this some serious gourmet sh!t, but I digress. Let's just say it was a great way to start the day before a long drive home. Since I had feasted for several days, I went with a lighter option for breakfast and got the veggie omelette, with grits and sourdough toast. Let's just say it hit the spot. We stayed at the Motel for a quick weekend away and had to eat breakfast the next morning. There were lots of good reviews so I was excited to try it. It didn't disappoint. It was busy and the place was hopping. Service was great. All the staff seemed to watch the tables so we never ran out of drinks or needed anything. It was a bit noisy, but it's busy! The view is fantastic. The only weird part is you pay as soon as you order. And of course if paying via Credit card the tip is asked up front. Having no clue if I would get good service I tipped a little light. After our meal I felt bad about that but I guess that's the businesses fault. If I'm ever there again I'll tip better since I know. Anyway. Food was fantastic, service was stellar, prices are fair, and the view was great. Definitely give this place a go if you're in the area. read more

The atmosphere is comfortable, the servers are all super friendly, the view is excellent and the coffee bar is . That being said, the food isn't anything special. It's always decent, for sure. The pancakes, hashbrowns and grits were tasty, but the veggie omelette left something to be desired. Not bad, by any means, but it's hard to find any GREAT breakfast spots in this area and my hopes for this place were higher. We visited Steamy Joe's twice during our trip, hoping to see what the hype was about. First time we didn't anticipate the wait and so left and tried again the next day. The food was pretty good, solid breakfast options, and overall no complaints there. That said, the experience didn't quite justify the effort. Even when we tried to go early, the wait was still long, around 45 minutes and they don't take call-ahead seating for small parties, which made timing tricky. The coffee was okay, but not the kind of place you're gonna get a well executed latte. Steamy Joe's has a nice local feel, and inside was nice, lots of natural light and good view but between the long wait and the just-okay coffee, it probably wouldn't make my list for a return visit. When we pulled into the parking lot, we weren't sure if we would be able to get in to eat in a timely manner, but the line went very quickly. They have expanded the dining area from the last time I was there so it feels very roomy. The staff is friendly, and I learned that the owner is from my area in Illinois. That was a nice surprise! Steamy Joe Cafe is everything a breakfast spot should be! Polite service, not overbearing, helpful staff. Every single employee was hustling to provide service for the customers. I'm someone who is very sensitive to sounds, it wasn't excessively loud inside (major plus). There were a lot of people inside, but it wasn't overwhelming. They have a ramp to enter the building, but I believe the only customer restrooms are downstairs (could potentially pose a problem for those with mobility aids). I ate here two mornings in a row, it was a 15 minute wait both times for a party of two. It was astonishingly fast, the owner is very polite. Loved the muffins and hash browns! Excellent service from every single staff person that came by our table to check on us. As for the food: 10/10!!! I had the breakfast burrito. But without peppers/onions...and I added hash browns. Delicious! The avocado toast was just okay. The bread wasn't toasted enough for my liking. The broccoli cheese soup was absolutely delicious! My wife had Levi's Pile Up, and loved that as well. Ambiance: 4 Stars It a charming White House nestled between other white buildings that are rented as vacation homes. It has a small country cottage feel and has a beautiful mountain top view of downtown Branson. However, we caught it when it wasn't too busy and they seated us before we ordered. There are plenty of tables and they have three floors where you nestled your party of hungry patrons. We caught the breakfast and lunch time so opted for the lunch items. Food: 3 Stars Note to self: order breakfast even though you had breakfast all ready. So the lunch options were okay. The breakfast portion looked hefty and large! Definitely would satisfy your appetite. We ordered the following: 1. Soup and Sandwich combo $11.75 - 3 Stars. The soup of the day was beef vegetable. The soup itself was good. Tendered beef with lots of autumn vegetables and the broth was light. Good with crackers or bread to dip in. The sandwich was okay. I got the Spicy Turkey Bacon Panini. It was flavorful and cheesy but it is portioned as a half size. So if you are hungry don't order a half size. It perfect for a light eater or someone who wants to watch what they are eating. 2. Grilled Chicken Berry Salad $12.45 - 2.75 Stars. The "grilled" statement is misleading. The chicken was poached, bland, dry and cold. The "grilled" part is from supposed to be "grilled seasoning" sprinkled on the chicken. This is what our server told us by the cooks. The salad itself was large and wonderful with berries but chicken wasn't so good. Server: 4 Stars Our server was friendly, professional and a wonderful smile. She was pleasant to talk to and gave us recommendations about Branson. Also, due to our disappointed experience with the chicken salad, she received approval by the manager to offered us a free muffin of our choosing. So would we come again, I believe so but we would try their breakfast items. NOTE: they get busy on the weekends and parking is limited so be ready to wait. read more
