A teeny tiny little building and the 'dining room' is big enough only for booths along the north and south walls, with a central aisle between the two rows. The atmosphere is fast food, and I'd say, a little rundown. You aren't going to impress anyone by bringing them to Shanghai Star; I believe most of their business is takeout via the drive through window. HOWEVER: The food is cheap and good and they give you a lot of it. They have a varied selection of items, (standard mid western Chinese fare) and my meal was served with an accompanying egg roll without having to order it separately. Despite the fast food atmosphere, the server does wait on you at table, service is minimal, fast, and the place is clean. Everything we ordered was extremely fresh and the food was made to order, not waiting around in a warming pan in the back. If I didn't live an hour away, I'd be here routinely. Edit: This place is in Branson West, on the north side of hwy 76, near the junction; not Reeds Spring.

No complaints. We are in from out of town, constantly looking for decent Asian food. The outside isn't much to look at and might scare some away. Also, when you walk in, don't be alarmed there are no Asians working there. Food is good, flavor is good, lots of veggies (almost too much- chicken and broccoli is supposed to be just that), food is HOT, vegetables are fresh, decent sized portions. Only complaint is the fried rice. If you want pork fried rice, you have to pay for a full batch, another $8-$9 on top of this $8.50 for the dinner sizes entree. Fried rice that comes with dinner is ok... Food isn't knock your socks off, but I'm leaving this review for anyone staying near Silver Dollar City. It's good enough to leave a positive review!!

This is the 3rd time in a row that this has happen. They wouldn't even resolve it.

Chicken fried rice was good but the rest of the food we ordered like kung pao shrimp and Mongolian beef were too spicy.

The chow main noodles were lukewarm, the sesame chicken, which was an upcharge, wasn't very hot. There were zero tables clean, and when my wife asked for a rag, the cashier rudely said "there's a bucket by the drinks." When we looked in said sanitizer bucket, there was nothing. At all. Out of coke, cherry coke and no tea to be found. Sticky floors. Overcooked egg rolls. If there was anything to say positive, the manager on duty was working her tail off to get things squared away. As a former manager of a food establishment, I get it. Rushes happen. But what I experienced today was so far beyond that. Definite culture of status quo in that restaurant. Will be hard pressed to ever set foot in this establishment again.

The girl serving was young so I'm guessing she was trying to impress them? The total wasn't any higher.

The lumpia was really good with a sweet dipping sauce. They poked holes in the takeout container to prevent the lumpia from getting soggy. The pork was crispy & flavorful with the garlic rice being the surprising star of the show for my husband. I think it was a family ran food truck and everyone was really helpful & friendly. We showed the lady a picture of what we saw from a different review and she quickly identified it. It was fast service & someone else came out later to check on how we liked the food. We were also given some dumplings to sample! They're located in a small court with other food trucks. Great location when the weather is nice.
