Nice place, but I would say the staff is a bunch of rude people. My wife and I went there to check out the place and get some details about membership. We asked the person at the lobby if we can take the membership form home so that we can fill it out and bring it back some other day. The person gave us a couple of forms and then there was this extremely rude lady who literally snatched the forms from us saying she doesn't want us to take the forms home. Very rude, arrogant and stupid. We were annoyed and we didn't think twice about leaving the place. And we don't bother to go back again. Hire a couple more staff like her, this place will close down in no time. read more

I am writing about the ICC Preschool Our son has been attending the ICC preschool and we were a bit reluctant in the beginning as its a relatively new Preschool, and we had no reviews about it. We are so happy now that we plan on sending our younger one to the same place too. This place is a great blend of Cultural and Acedemic environment for the kids. The kids learn a lot about indian culture using small art and craft projects, there is a lot of attention to the details. It provides a very safe environment with lots of brain stimulation for those little minds. Kids learn everything in such a fun way, and there is a LOT of learning everyday. I am very impressed with the teachers, they are super friendly and know all the kids, their likes,dislikes, and they really work on all their behavioral issues in a very professional way. This happens since they know kids so well, they go above and beyond all the times. The daily schedule is very impressive too, there are a lot of activities with equal focus on learning acedemics and learning lessons for life! We opted for the optional homework too, my son is so excited about the homework sheets always! it helps kids getting ready for the real school. The preschool programs are amazing, i am so touched by the little kids performing on indian kids songs I grew up learning. All in all, we are super happy with this place, it satisfies all our needs and we see lots of learning everyday! read more

ICC is a one of a kind place. It makes me feel like there is India in America. ICC not only brings back the cultural values to which everyone wants to have whether they come to a country for the first time, or have been born here. When I visited ICC at first, I was unaware of what to expect from this new facility when I joined as member two years ago. I can proudly and honestly say that ICC has truly surpassed my expectations. The values, affordability, cheap pricing, community-feel, and glamour makes it a unique community center that shines in the light for the Indian and non-indian community. My two years as a member here have clearly shown to be nothing but mere happiness. The fitness center has state of the art equipment with personalized televisions. Futhermore, I feel I bonded with a close group of new friends at the center because of the homely and amicable environment encouraged here. Although many people on this site have seemed to show bad reviews for the Bawarchi restaurant, there seems to have been a change in the restaurant ownership with the Amber Cafe, franchised from the Amber Restaurant in Santana Row & Mountain View, for discounted and quality food. I really encourage all my friends and anyone else who is reading this to review to go and check out this facility. I am very sure you will be excited to see the affordable pricing and the great events/fitness/classes/workshops/etc that ICC has to provide for you and your family. read more

When it was new, the kitchen serving goat meat biryani (no lamb biryani crap) was to die for - excellent spices and properly cooked flavorful meat. I was all praise. But over time the quality has been going down. I have given them benefit of doubt but I cannot do it any more. It has been consistently bad for last few months: - The goat meat seems to have been replaced with smelly, hard and fibrous lamb meat - probably much cheaper than authentic goat. Prices have gone up as well. The only saving grace is the boiled egg. Spices seem to be undercooked. I am sure the guy said "goat meat biryani", but lied about the meat. - The chicken tikka masala had dry pieces of chicken thrown into a half-cream half-cooked gravy - very poor quality cooking. The pieces felt like chunks of jute thrown in half-and-half with some tikka masala mixed in. The 'tandoor roti' was actually undercooked naan. never going back ... read more

We held a breakfast at the ICC for about 300 people and we're treated well from the beginning. Their staff worked with our group to provide for every need, and were very dedicated to making sure that our event was a success. They were kind, helpful, flexible, and very service oriented. Late in the planning stages, we needed to reduce our expected guests to ~230. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and even let us set up the night before without additional cost! Beyond gushing over the staff, the facility is gorgeous. I wish that we had a similar facility within San Jose, but since we don't, I'll be sending my business back to the ICC in Milpitas! read more

My daughter went for TT camp and took her first TT paddle from her dad. I saw the paddle on the table the first day I was there until I left. But when I went to pick her up, it was gone and no one knew where it was. Everyone who goes in has to go through the front desk and they have way more staff than people enrolled. Even after asking every day moring and evening, they could not find the paddle. If they can keep track of evey kid and every paddle ICC owns, it is hard to belive our paddle dissapeared into thin air. Her name was written on it on two sides with a perm. marker. All of our family and friends feel bad about this. The staff were very nice, especially the person who runs the ICC TT camp. The TT classes are also good. My kid enjoyed it. We have taken many classes in many centers and never have lost anything. Is it that we were unlucky with ICC? Although I want my kid to learn TT, I am not sure if I will feel safe sending them to ICC. read more

This review is for ICC Preschool.I have all good things to say about this school.My son was one of the first student of this ,school till he graduated last year.Their academics are at par with all private preschools in the area ,like Stratford, Merryhill and others.Their art and craft and celebration events of various festivals were simply amazing.All the teachers really work hard with kids and help them to grow socially and academically.A very special shout out to Manasi , the preschool director.She is extremely professional and went out of her way to make my son's experience exceptional. read more

The facilities here are very good. They also have improved the concessions. During a recent event, their AV system did not work well, otherwise I would give it a 5star rating. Parking can get tight during major events. Overall, it is well maintained & provides a variety of activities not just for the Indian community but for the broader community. read more

All I can say is they need to FIRED the ASSISTANT MANAGER because he/she sucks at booking the reservation. They need to have a better communication and be mindful of the events that's being book that day. Reception,baby shower, etch takes time to decorate. Next time look over your manager notes. ICC Afterschool Program My first-grader started attending the ICC after school care last year when she started Kindergarten. From the beginning, the ICC staff were kind, informative, supportive, and responsible. I felt secure that I was leaving my daughter in the best of care. 1. Orientation: Every school year is preceded by an in-depth orientation session. Parents and children are invited and the Program Director and teachers provide a lot of details about the services and policies. This is a very informative session and builds a great foundation for the year. 2. Pick-up Service: The pick-up service is terrific. There is a lot of communication from the Program Director. Every day around 3 PM, parents get a notification that the children have been picked up safely. There are two teachers assigned to each pickup van and there is plenty of training (mock pickups) and communication with the parents fully involved. 3. After School Program: I find the program to be very enriching for my daughter. The little ones have nap time when they first arrive at ICC. I was recently able to witness this. All children were resting on their individual sleeping mats with relaxing music playing in the background. My daughter was fast asleep and I would have happily traded places with her -- the room was so relaxing. The after school program has several rooms, so the children have plenty of space. The children get snacks and are reminded to finish their school lunch. They also get outdoor play time, and they celebrate various national and cultural holidays together. The teachers are excellent -- kind and warm. Most children have plenty of time and supervision to complete their homework. In addition, there are a lot of classes (Hindi, yoga, etc.) that are free. Children can also sign up for paid classes, like Bollywood dance, art, etc. Friday evenings are movie days that the children always look forward to. The program sends plenty of communication and notices for holiday schedules, pickups, minimum days, etc., which I very much appreciate! 4. General: I have found the staff to be very approachable and understanding. They are very accommodating, and most importantly, they are respectful and kind. I really appreciate this about all of them. My daughter is happy when she is at ICC, and I see that it is a safe, warm, and loving environment for her. read more

We rented the auditorium for a wedding reception in May. The premises are beautiful. Things seemed to go well during the planning stages, although there were times when Virender and Pramod were non-responsive for extended periods, but I was disappointed with the way my vendors were treated by Virender. I paid for extra wait staff, a per person charge above 300 people, babysitter fees, extra hour fees and whatnot. As much as I was nickel and dimed, I expected to get much better service. I have raised my concerns with Virender. My suggestion to others is to make sure that you have strong willed people the day of your event to enforce your rights. read more

This is the Best Summer Camp for children to learn and explore. My son was a part of this camp for summers and he enjoyed thoroughly, and got such amazing opportunities to open up with different kids. They provide kids with new classes every week including dances, robotics, games and also good lunch. As I was a single mother, therefore they helped me, and people working here are kind-hearted. My daughter who has sever allergies had a fabulous time when she attended the Cultural Immersion Camp this summer. The staff were exceptional. They made an extra effort to understand what factors cause her to react then came up with a plan that provided a safe learning environment . They were diligent, careful, flexible, accommodating and understanding. My daughter was included in all the activities and never got sick. The activities at the camp were hands-on, educational and fun! The camp instilled a sense of pride in where she comes from and exposed her to the various facets of Indian culture. It was my hope and dream that my daughter could have an opportunity to experience a summer camp that would help her develop a stronger sense of her culture and identity. My Daughter was enrolled in India community center preschool in Milpitas. The teacher Ms Manasi was very rude and is NOT fit to be the lead teacher. The kids are just siting Idle and they do not get any quality care. You are just fooled to enroll and lot of big talk ............ I had my daughter in this school for 2 months Every time I picked my daughter up, she was filthy - crumbs on her face, snot dried all over on her cheeks, fingers filthy, and her lunch was usually untouched and quickly packed back as if no one cared or even looked. All the other children in her 2 year old class were the same way (filthy and neglected). There was another little girl that was always crying when I picked my own daughter up. The teachers would let her keep crying and told me ignoring her was the best solution. I found that hard and would pat her back a little as I picked up my own child - that little gesture always seemed to calm her down considerably so not sure why the teachers couldn't do it. Please DO not look at the facility and get fooled. read more

My family and I have been members of this center since day one. Great facility and i think that this place can unite all desi's and non-desi young and old. Fitness classes are amazing for all ages! Gym equipment is ok they do need some more machines both cardio and extension. However, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE especially Priya (extremely rude!) at the Front Desk. Management there needs some serious improvement on how to be sincere and intuitive with their guest, especially if you are paying top dollar for their service.Frankly this is not back home this is AMERICA. Where customers are right... its the golden rule!! One really bad thing about this place is they are not CLEAN at all. Every time i took a shower (i no longer any more) there are HUGE hair balls by the drain which I have complained many times to the FD... Simple solution hire more cleaning staff one lady can not do it all!! Will continue to keep you posted! read more

My second grade class has taken a field trip here for the last two years. The first year we all agreed it was fabulous. Even all of our parent chaperones loved it. So we came back this fall and it was even BETTER! The women who run the program are so lovely and all of the craft activities are wonderful! My kids loved the Yoga and Bollywood dancing. The cultural snacks were yummy and all of the students love this field trip. They allowed us to come during Diwali, which made it extra special for us. Wish there was a way to give 0 stars!! Attended a screening of the play "Blue Mug" there on 05/08/2010, it was my worst experience at a play. ICC might be good for a lot of things but was definitely a bad place to screen this play for a pretty large audience. Some of these issues might be the organizer's responsibility too but maybe ICC should just refuse to host events that it can't handle. Here are all the reasons - 1) The parking was lousy with one person trying to direct traffic to allowed parking areas (the signs were lousy, one of the signs said "Event parking" in huge letters with a piece of paper tacked at the top saying "no ICC"). Surely they could have made better signs. Hopefully no cars got towed. 2) Event started an hour late. There were no announcements/notifications to explain the delay. Everyone was squeezed into the lobby area trying to get inside, surely that was not a great idea. Least they could have done is get everyone seated inside and explained the delay or asked people to step out completely. 3) The seats inside were makeshift, i.e just regular chairs placed in rows. There were no levels/steps inside (like you have in a movie theater or other auditoriums) that would ensure everyone a view of the stage. Just imagine watching a 75 min play in this situation!!! My neck hurt trying to get a peek at the play through the space between the heads in front of me!!! 4) There was barely any room between rows, so if people wanted to get out they literally had to move chairs to do so!!! 5) Eventually when everyone got seated, the organizers didn't even have the courtsey to make an apology for the delay!!! Instead the audience was subjected to 30 minute dance performance by some local group!!! They were good dancers but that is definitely not the way to set a mood for a play and that was not advertised at all!!! 6) They should be stricter on there "turn off cellphones" policy. 7) Please close the refreshment stalls during the play!!!!! Can you imagine watching an intense play with people continuously walking in front of you trying to food and then back to their seats? Please atleast have respect for the great performers on the stage!! The tickets weren't cheap either, ours were $45 and there were lots of tickets for $75. The plays organized by "naatak" do a much better job of picking a venue and having piece and quiet during the show!!! read more

I am writing about ICC summercamps.My daughters had taken TableTennis Summercamp.we feel it was a very bad choice.The head of ICC was very rude guy. Worst Management with hundreds of kids in summercamp. And In three hours of TableTennis the teachers teach without passion and enthusiasm. Worst summercamp with huge Fees.My kids feel awful about this place. read more

I've been here for large events, small events, and even attended a bollywood jam class as part of their gym. Nice large rooms, clean bathrooms, and a good amount of parking. I've only seen the facilities as a participant or attendee so can't speak much on the management. read more

This is for the cafe Khaanapeena by Healthy Masala. I work 2 minutes down the road, and I LOVE Indian food... But Im not crazy about the weight I put on from it! This place is like going to your Indian friends house and getting fresh, homemade, healthy Indian food! I go in at least twice a week for the daily lunch thali that changes everyday. It's enough food for two lunches for me. It costs about $7-8. I get a veg, daal, roti or paranthas, rice, raita and a dessert. There are meat options too! A bunch of my coworkers stopped coming here when it was called Amber, but now I have them coming back. Especially after I had offered to share one day and I saw their eyes light up and say, " this tastes like how my mom makes it!!" Now, you know when an Indian says that, the food is LEGIT!!! Tip: order fried idly, it's not on the menu but she will make it. It is AMAZING!! They are open for breakfast and lunch. Seriously... WORTH IT!! read more

I wanted to know more about this place so I went online and learned about all the interesting programs and classes that are held at the ICC. When I first stopped by at the ICC and went on a mini tour I couldn't help but noticed how clean the whole building is. My experience thus far has been great. ICC - the Indian community center in Milpitas is like a Home away from Home - it caters to diverse needs - from seniors who meet every day eat wholesome meals, exercise through yoga, celebrate events, share their joys and sorrows, discuss current events (makes me want to hurry up and become one), to working families and single parents who use the gym and child care center to include exercise as part of their daily regimen, to high school children who learn how to give back to the community by volunteering their time, energetic and fun group ex and yoga instructors who make work out FUN to bollywood and other music, world class Table tennis center with world champion winners, a very elegant banquet hall and of course Amber cafe onsite for those quick lunches or leisurely dinners when you do not want to cook at home. I love the place and spend as much of my free time there as possible either working out or socializing with friends or eating lunch or volunteering to help with an event!!
