I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience with Dr. Bymaster. I came in with a serious…read morehealth condition (an ascending aortic aneurysm with blood flow issues) hoping to be treated with professionalism and care, but instead I left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and in pain. The doctor gave me conflicting information about losartan. At first, she claimed there were no side effects, but later changed her wording to "side effects seen in her patients." This inconsistency made me lose confidence in her honesty. While taking my blood pressure, the doctor made a passive-aggressive remark to one of the nurses (not related to me, but clearly directed at me about medication) about how people "just won't listen" and "will pay the consequences." The nurse giggled afterward. Instead of focusing on my care, the doctor was making comments and couldn't even give me her full attention during a basic blood pressure check. When I explained that I wanted to fix the root cause naturally, the doctor dismissed me and said the medication would "fix the root of it." When I clarified, she made an ignorant and condescending argument that because medications are made from natural substances, they are the same as a natural solution. She knows they are made in a lab. She knew exactly what I meant, but chose to belittle my concerns instead of having a real conversation. She arrived 15 minutes late with no apology, and then rushed through the appointment as if she had no time for me -- except when she wanted to question me in front of all the nurses, instead of speaking to me privately. This felt unprofessional and humiliating. During the blood draw, she shoved the needle into my arm so forcefully that my whole arm hurt afterwards. I don't remember a blood draw ever being this painful. Overall, I did not feel listened to, respected, or cared for. I felt pressured into medication without a meaningful discussion of alternatives, dismissed when I asked questions, and treated with open disrespect. I would not recommend this office to anyone who values being treated with honesty, respect, and professionalism.

I had reached out to Healing Grove…read moreback in March/April 2023 as I was having ongoing health issues that were not figured out by my PCP. Dr. Angie took the time to listen to my concerns, prayed for me, and suggested action steps to help me get back on my feet. The staff is kind and professional and when I have questions, Brett has responded quickly to emails. Healing Grove takes a holistic view of your health, which is integral if you want to have true healing. I highly recommend reaching out to them if you are looking for a new doctor!

This is a great little plot of land in the absolute heart of the city…read more A great idea and remarkably well executed. This small plot of land produces a ton (maybe literally) of fresh greens and veggies for the families and volunteers in the vicinity. It is nearly impossible to find, coming over the highway from coleman you can easily miss the tiny turn off and lot that is shared with the citibank. Inside are some really nicely maintained vegetable beds, a small green house, a sometimes farmers market stand and a few chickens down in the corner. They produce allot of really high quality produce with volunteer labor, grants for maintenance and help from the community. They are always patient and welcoming of any help (and donations) and are proving that you don't need a huge farm tract to be productive and in an otherwise food desert, they are really making a difference.

Taylor Street is a 1-acre farm producing vegetables and raising chickens and serves as a wonderful opportunity for us to experience with our friends and families where food comes from. Visit! Learn the in's and out's of urban farming. Harvest a basket of fresh, free, locally grown produce. This place is completely run by volunteers. So please make a donation when you come to help cover the cost of their supplies and insurance. And please find a time to bring some friends to volunteer a few hours of your own time to help keep this fabulous space in production and good use. Right now, I'm bringing my 4 year old and 7 year old to the farm on Saturday mornings for a very well-done "ABC's of Farming" parent-participation class facilitated by Farmers Trinity, Sally, and Kalyn. Nami Santa Clara was there for me. I did not need their services, but I did not fell alone anymore…read more I first found out about Namii when I signed up for a Nami Walk. That year the weather was very hot. So I did not walk. I felt bad not walking but I am sure that's what Nsmi would have told me to do. Now the walk is only 1 mile. This makes it a lot easiler forever one. If someone wants to make it 3 miles they can go around 3 times. I enjoyed raising money for Nami too. This way I was giving back to Nami for all the free services they offer.

I declined as I had other opportunities going on at the moment. Seven years; over 2,000 fliers; and despite numerous calls, not one peep. Except for the excited announcement of "another DOMEoltion!" from 3Below Theatres & SAVE the DOMES, every time another dome playhouse was destroyed. This entire campaign was a sham. This review is really a plea for the members of the council to look in the mirror. Really look. And ask themselves what the overall mission of PAC*SJ is supposed to be; how said mission ties, or is supposed to tie, into the overall betterment of society; and how said mission can best be accomplished. Because, to be blunt, I am not seeing ANYTHING close to resembling a willingness to realize full potential.

It can always be stressful and heartbreaking as a family member with a loved one staying at the hospital; esp if you are not from the area and driving back and forth isn't as easy as it seems. JW House offers rooms to stay, hot meals, a place to shower and overall, just a place for families to feel AT HOME and comfortable. A home away from home. I truly appreciate the time I got to spend here. I didn't stay a night but I did stay for a couple hours with my 6 month old to feed and to nap. It was for sure needed before the drive back home. I also stayed for dinner which was delightful. They also offer snacks, and if you have family members at bedside, you are more than welcome to pack them food to-go. They also have a huge backyard with a play area and a BBQ grill. I highly suggest going on their website to learn more about this amazing home away from home. It was built from love and you can see it radiate from the way this place is taken care of and from the volunteers. Thank you, JW House!

I want to be clear that I completely understand JW House has limited availability, uses a…read morereferral/waitlist process, and cannot guarantee a room. My disappointment is not that I wasn't guaranteed housing -- it's how little communication I received during the process. I started the process about a month before my scheduled surgery, worked with a social worker, completed everything that was asked of me, and followed up because I knew I needed to have lodging arranged ahead of time. Despite doing that, I did not receive any meaningful update about where I stood or what I should realistically expect. Then, only a couple of days before my surgery, I received a call asking additional questions and whether I was still interested. I said yes, but I was still told they could only let me know if a room became available. At that point, my surgery was days away. I was traveling for a medical procedure and simply could not responsibly wait until the last minute without knowing whether I would have somewhere to stay. Again, I understand that availability is limited and that JW House may not always be able to accommodate everyone. I would never fault an organization for not having a room. What was difficult was going through the process so far in advance, trying to follow up, and still being left without any clear communication until the final days before surgery. For someone already dealing with the physical and emotional stress of a serious medical procedure, that uncertainty added a tremendous amount of stress. If I had simply been told earlier, "We cannot guarantee anything and you should secure backup lodging now," I would have understood completely. Instead, I felt like I was left waiting until it was no longer realistic to do so. I ultimately had to make other arrangements. I genuinely think the mission of JW House is wonderful, and I hope the communication process can improve for future patients and families, because people seeking this kind of help are often already under an enormous amount of stress.

It's seeing peoples faces light up when they enter a once damaged or neglected area, and it has being transformed by the good will of others. This year was my second time participating in Our Beautiful Day. There was so many different projects to choose from. I decided to serve at InnVision Revision which provides housing and meal services to homeless families. They had a HUGE pantry that need a lot of reconstruction and help. Also, the building and kitchen were in need of much repair. It was amazing to see people with huge hearts serving with Beautiful Day to accomplish a night and day transformation. I seriously could not believe how much of a difference two days of hard work could accomplish. I saw families working together to sand down stair cases and paint doors. I helped with gardening, which is amazing because I DO NOT have a great thumb by no means... I could go on forever, but if you are looking for a way to give back to your community and neighbors check Our Beautiful Day Organization.
