A bit disappointed in this Indian restaurant. It seems that the reviews were highly recommended, but unfortunately, this food did not live up to our expectations. The Paneer Makhani was absolutely flavorless and just tasted of tomato sauce. The Mutter Methi Malai also felt very lackluster and without the use of fresh methi leaves vs the boxed kind. We ordered medium and both dishes were mild at best. The Naan was good and the best part. The service was also lacking as the waiter only came to see how we were doing when we were done with our meals and to offered a to go box. It was only then also that we got our water refilled. They were quite busy so it is understandable but still did not make our experience Satisfactory. Typical vibe for an Indian restaurant. We will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

Ordered: butter chicken, rice, garlic cheese naan, raita, chai tea iced. Service - sufficient, not hovering. Ambiance is good. For the main dish, they ask the spice level you want, I am a bland person so I had mild, but maybe someday I will be brave and try the medium level. Haha. Butter chicken is top notch, so tasty and filling. Garlic naan, I could eat this on the daily it's just delicious. Raita- yogurt dip, runnier than I was accustomed to, but taste was good. Chai- I wished I had ordered the mango lassi instead, as I prefer a stronger spice presence in my chai. Rice was good. I think it has cumin in it, but idk. read more

They are new and systems are evolving, but they are also learning fast. As anyone who has ever worked food service or small business knows, it's a ton of work. Food is excellent. The fact that they are packed from opening until about 7:30pm every evening they're open is a sign of how delicious it is. We've eaten here twice. First time was take-out. I walked in and asked about wait time for a to go order. (Every table was filled and there was a line of about 10 people waiting, and having read some of the other whiny reviews about long wait times, I just wanted to manage my own expectations.) The woman at the register estimated 45-60 mins. I ordered, went home, came back 50 mins later, and my food was ready. Lamb vindaloo, mango chicken, veggie pakora, palaak paneer, butter chicken, naan, a lentil and bean dish, and papadum. Spice level medium. Big hit at home. A week later we came back for dine-in at 7:30pm. Seated right away although all but one table full. Ordered spread pictured below. Mix of medium and spicy, meat and vegetarian. Water refilled 3-4 times. Noise level decent for conversation. This is such a welcome addition to the TVC cuisine options. Wish them all the best as they come fully up to speed. read more

We had a terrific meal at India Garden. I was excited to see goat on the menu, and the goat vindaloo was really outstanding. My dining companion, who is a little heat-shy, opted for the mild chicken tikka, which was perfect. My one complaint has to do with the size and price of the lunch portions. I told them refund my order in whole and I'm never coming back. It's not my job to do their job .,, done done done. We were greeted right away and seated beneath a ceiling decorated with multicolored fabric umbrellas. The wait staff paid great attention to us--filling our waters, asking us how things tasted, and clearing dishes as soon as possible-- with polite and welcoming conversation. The appetizer samosas were perfectly prepared, the chai tasted fabulous, mango lassis just the right sweetness, and the rice had such flavor! We ordered three entrées, and they were all fantastic. Let me preface this with, as a fellow business owner, I know what it's like wanting to open up for business ASAP and hit the ground running, we were the same way. That being said, I think for how new they are, they're handling the rush of business really well. We showed up on a Saturday night, around dinner and there was a line, maybe 12-15 people waiting. We decided to chill and see what's up. She wasn't a hostess, but after 10 mins, someone came up asking specifically of a group of 4, to fill a 4 top, despite a good amount of people that were waiting before us...we gladly accepted lol. After looking around you can kinda see the pace the people are working at, so we decided to get all our orders together to help the staff. A younger girl came and took our order as best as she could, as her English was very limited. We ordered Garlic cheese naan Garlic naan Aloo Tikki Chicken Vindalo Chicken Madras Curry All with medium spice Each dish was DELICIOUS and the portions are decent. Only complaint was that my curry only had 3 cubes of chicken, and we were only served water once and no one checked back. But the food was killer. Allow for some extra time for them to seat you, get your order all In at once, and don't be scared to flag em down. Overall fantastic and happy to have them here in tc! read more

Great new entry to the TC dining scene. Conversion of previous restaurant space to an Indian theme is done tastefully - warm and friendly. Staff is attentive and engaged with the diners. Most importantly, the food is authentic, flavorful and well executed. We sampled the vegetarian fare, which has a full page of entrees. The daal Makhani and vegetable curry with okra were outstanding, The garlic naan was also great. From the looks on the other diners' faces, the meat entrees were enjoyable as well. The food is great. The service is great. Is is good to see this location back in business. Only one complaint: the little fennel seeds? They taste like SOAP! DON'T eat them until they get the kind with the pale colors. They pale ones taste great and go cleanse your palate. I am so glad India Garden is in town! The food is fantastic. We got the mixed grill which was a generous portion of meats and a vegetarian option, Baingan Bhartha, plus garlic naan to share for two. I would go back for just the naan as it was that good! The rice also was fantastic, light and fluffy. The food was tasty but not nearly as spicy as I wanted. I requested the most spicy but it barely registered a medium my opinion. Perhaps a numerical system or additional questions clarifying exactly how spicy because I really do like spicy food. However, it was sooo delicious I enjoyed it anyway. Extra napkins would be nice with the mixed grill and topping off my water a little faster are the only other very minor suggestions. Can't wait to go back and try many more dishes. read more
