The lunch buffet is back. Seemed like a pretty good spread, but the flavors were mild. Loved how they brought around fresh Naan, and didn't put out too much tandoori chicken at one time so it stayed fresh.

Left to right: Basmati Rice, Chicken Tikka Masala, Kashmiri Naan, Mango Lassi

I had a nice quiet lunch on a Monday and the Chicken Tikka Masala at max heat was the perfect way to warm up. Even with a 6/6 slice, the flavor was fantastic and the naan and lassi worked perfectly with it. The waiter was nice and was attentive without checking in too often. I highly recommend coming here for a good weekday meal!

    GARLIC NAAN

Nice little Indian restaurant in Bellevue with friendly service! We came in for Friday dinner, and it wasn't too busy. We were a larger group, so we ordered 6 different curries and a bunch of garlic naan. It took around 30 minutes? For us to get our food, which wasn't ideal. Maybe it was because of the larger order? The curries are supposed to come with rice, but our server seemed to have forgotten about it. We had to ask for rice after about 10 minutes. The food itself was not bad. The garlic naan was okay, which is difficult bc I'd imagine it's hard to mess up naan. The curries themselves were not bad as well. We got level 2 spice which was perfect for us as it was still a bit spicy but not unbearably. Overall, this was okay!

This is the best Indian restaurant I've been to. There are many great vegetarian options! My favorites are the Paneer Masala and Dal Tarka. The Greek Salad is also really good! I've actually only eaten inside one time, all the other times have been takeout, but it's cute and intimate inside and the service was great, also!

Naan on the bottom and roti on the top

Came here to order lunch to go. We came in and were greeted and given menus. I chose the saag paneer which comes with rice, vegetable pakora, and roti. The saag paneer was super tasty and I got it at a level 5 and it was perfectly spicy for my taste. The rice was well seasoned. The vegetable pakora was crunchy and still soft on the inside. The roti was soft and so tender, it was ready to rip. Overall, we had 3 orders and they brought it out pretty quick. I can't wait to try the lunch buffet next.

Hair found in rice... This is the second time I've found something unpleasant in my food. I won't be returning here for future business. While the flavors are good and price is good, mistakes like this are unacceptable and very easily avoidable.

The food was not good. We had the chicken biryani and shaahi paneer. Both were bad and too oily.

The portions were ok, there was just something off about the taste. The best thing was the curry but the proteins were a bit strong.

I will say one of best Dal Makhni I had in states. Butter Naan was fresh and crisp . Always look for thickness of Naan . Less thick is more authentic . Malai soya chaap is my another favorite. Veg cutlet was flavorful. Ambience was too good . Good choice of interior. Washrooms were neat and clean Service was top notch . In fact the restaurant manager Akshay ( if I am correct) came to check about food quality and feedback. Manager is very knowledgeable . He told us how seriously they take the feedback. The entire restaurant was 80% full, but still the food and the service was super lazy. We went in at 9pm, and they close at midnight, so not even late into the night. Ambiance was just fine though we could see dirty floor and unclean tables. First server came immediately after we got seated and asked us if we are ordering food or not (first hint at their rudeness), but the second server was good. After we finished food, first server again came and asked us with straight-face- without even giving us a menu "are you ordering any dessert"? At the end the first server still came and expected a lot of tip, and showed a rude, non-interested face even when we tipped 15%. Now I am regretting why I tipped that much, when the service is so bad. This shows lack of training. Now coming to the food (important piece)- we ordered 4 things: 1) achari soya chaap - decently good, but there was no achari flavor in it. It was on a bland side as well. 3/5. 2) Malai Kofta - fully frozen. When we cut the kofta it was super cold and hard. The curry had some flavor but still cold, not at all fresh. 1/5. We asked for a replacement and it took them 20 mins to give us a new one and by that time we had already finished our naans. Even the new one was not good, though warmer than before. 3) Kadhai Paneer - again frozen one. Paneer pieces were soft but cold. Though the semi curry had good flavor to it. My assumption is that they took the frozen paneer and mixed it with previously prepared curry, without even cooking them up to infuse the flavors. 2/5. 4) Garlic & Bullet Naan - Both were really good, and we had asked them to be crispy and they were good crispy , so we liked them. 4/5.

It really was beautiful in all areas and the music was authentic and the perfect volume. We ordered the tandoori chicken and it arrived at the table sizzling on the iron plate. It was the best we'd ever had, full of spices and fall off the bone tender. The server was great with tips and I liked that we could adjust the spiciness. Next was the lamb keema biryani. Again, excellent flavor and we loved the sauces served with it. The raita was just right. The garlic naan was fresh and hot. For dessert, we ordered the mango lassi, chai tea, and shared the rasmalai dessert. All excellent quality with perfect texture, temperature, snd sweetness. We were very impressed. The only reason I gave only four stars instead of an enthusiastic five, is because when we entered we were excited to sit down in the beautiful dining room to enjoy our first meal there. Instead we just kept going and were led further and further back until we reached the sports bar area and were seated with no one else around for the whole meal. There was seating available in the main dining room. It felt very isolated and detracted from our overall experience. We'll be back but next time we'll request to be seated with the general population. That aside, I highly recommend!

The food is usually delicious, and the service is usually fine, but there always seems to be something that throws off our dining experience here. For example, we dined in last Sunday for dinner, and were promptly seated. We ordered the garlic naan to share, and our vegetarian friend ordered the Paneer Makhni. However, when the dish arrived, she took a bite and discovered that there were chicken pieces inside, and when we alerted the server, we didn't even receive an apology. They took away her plate, which had some rice and garlic naan, and gave her a new plate with a new order of the Paneer Makhni, and did not replace the rice and garlic naan that was lost due to their mistake. I feel that giving a vegetarian or vegan person a dish with meat is a huge mistake, and I was very disappointed by the lack of an apology and the lack of an effort to make things right. On the happy side, the garlic naan was tasty, and I personally ordered a chicken kabob dish that was covered in sauce, which was phenomenal. Another example is that for 3 or 4 visits, we interacted with the same server. He always greeted us with "ni hao" even though we are not Chinese. Even worse, on multiple occasions, after we paid for the food with credit card, he would make up some lie about how the card reader was broken for the tip portion, and he would ask for a cash tip that he pocketed. We've never had this issue with any other server, and I've even seen this guy tell other groups the same lie about the card reader not working for the tip portion, even though it worked fine for the main payment. In summary, although Kanishka seems to have some food quality control issues, the food is delicious, and the service can be a wide range from very poor to good.
