Enjoyed the lunch buffet today at this well-lit, comfortable restaurant. Service (plate removal and filling water glasses) was very good. There's a nice selection of items in the buffet, including some vegetarian items, chicken and goat. The garden salad actually was excellent - very fresh, with tomatoes, red peppers and carrots. The tandoori chicken was very moist and flavorful. There were a few fried items - although I try to stay away from fried foods, they were very good. The lentil dish was nicely spiced. The naan delivered to the table was "ok," not great. There's even coffee available on the buffet - and it was decent coffee. The price for this buffet was under $20. There are a couple other buffets in Gaithersburg at a higher price point and might have an additional item or two, but this buffet is solid and we'll be back. read more

Tuesday 2/18/25 I had gone to an Indian buffet in Muddy Branch a few months ago, and my mom had made a lot of claims about "India Palace" being one of her favorite spots for Indian food and Indian buffet, so we're finally putting it to the test. My mom and I came for the lunch buffet for $18 each, and the service was alright, but nothing stood out. You get all of your food from the buffet except for the naan that gets delivered to your table occasionally. Also, as a tip, I'd recommend paying with cash as it's cheaper. I tried a lot of items, so it's easiest to rank each item into tiers of whether I'd recommend it or not: YES: - Mango lassi - Gulab jamun - Chicken biryani - Deep-fried bread (bathura) - Tandoor chicken - Saag paneer - Samosa MAYBE: - Chana bathura - Butter chicken - Goat vindaloo - Veg noodles - Aloo tikka - Beans - Naan NO - Patty looking thing (best way I could describe it as I don't know the name lol) - Kheer - Aloo matar - Rice - Methi paneer - Dhai vada (this was HORRIBLE) Overall, the buffet experience was okay for the most part, as the food ranged from awful to decent. I just ordered another lunch to-go here! Needless to say, our family is fully satisfied once again! India Palace is still doing the buy two entrees get third for free deal on Mondays-Thursdays. I got two orders of the butter chicken, one order of the goat madras, and one garlic naan bread. The total was $49 after tax. Very reasonably priced since the deal took off $19.5 (the price of the butter chicken) The butter chicken is still just as creamy, juicy, and tender! The goat madras is still tasty! Nothing has changed! The restaurant is still a must visit for Indian food lovers! The garlic naan ($4) portion seems to be a bit smaller than years ago. But given the rising inflation in recent years, the unchanged price with the smaller portion is understandable. The taste is still great! read more

That being said, this is probably one of the best Indian buffets I've been to in a long time This is the first Indian buffet that I've had where they have a full chaat set up which is actually pretty nice. They even provided tamarind sauce, fresh peppers, and lots of veggies on the side.. they even had a foochka station! They also had goat meat and chicken tandoori. In addition to a lot of other vegetarian and meat items. The food was replenished very quickly The other thing that was very different was that they offered mango lassi, as well as coffee and masala chai. These are things I have never seen offered on a buffet. And they were all quite tasty They have free parking in the lot. Bathroom is clean. One of the other things that was mildly irritating was the service. They have a buffet with broad hours. However, because I was here for a long lunch with a old friend, we were chit-chatting and promptly after their hours for the buffet ended they let us know. They also stopped the lights and the music and a lot of Hispanic workers were eating the food. Kind of bizarre. Also a little bit unprofessional if you ask me. I think that the management could handle this a little bit better in the future. Just might take. Overall, I think it's pretty good. Food. We had the mixed grill tandoori, what a bargain, a huge platter of amazing food cooked to perfection. We started with the shrimp and split the huge piece of salmon, which was moist and tasty. I always forget to review this place whenever I come here, and I also don't take good photos because I am stuffing my face the whole time. This is one of the best Indian buffets that you can get in town. For $21 on the weekend, you get a full buffet that includes many specialties, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian dishes, multiple desserts, coffee, chai, and mango lassi. You really cannot beat this as the value is great, and the amenities are even better. Fresh naan is brought to your table, and services extremely efficient despite how busy they can get. The food quality itself is also decently above average for all of their dishes. I would say, my only complaint is that on one corner of the buffet, it is impossible to go around people and can get quite congested during their peak hours. I have been coming here more often lately. It's been good each time. The reason I keep coming here is that they appear to be pretty well priced for what you get. They always have tandoori chicken and butter chicken for the lunch buffet, which is also offered on Sundays. The best dish is usually on the big metal plates along the wall and they had this tender lamb dish once and a fried fish dish. Both delicious and well worth the price for the lunch buffet. This buffet is unique in that they offer mango lassi as part of the buffet. I really only had mango lassi during a buffet. Most of the dishes, I never even attempted at home so it's definitely worth the money to come here and quench your craving for Indian food. It takes a lot of spices to make Indian cuisine so unless you're investing in making Indian cuisine for the month at home, it's best to just go for a lunch buffet and this one does a pretty bang up read more

Having tried their menu items before. This time I tried their buffet on Saturday. My top picks: - goat, very tender and strong flavor - aloo masala. It's a good choice to have something a bit sour in the buffet, because most other choices are buttery. Didn't like: - Everything else was a bit bland. - Aloo tikki and pakora, was too chewy. Which I didn't expect because I came as soon as they opened. - They had fried rice instead of biryani, which I was looking forward to since I liked their biryani. Very disappointed today. We've come here dozens of times and this might be our last. I had 2 big hairs in my curry goat. The tandoori chicken was out for most of our meal and the naan brought wasn't even enough for my family of four to each enjoy. I told the waitress about the hair. She did nothing. No one came to apologize and there was no sense of ownership for the issue. After leaving none of us felt great. Very different than previous experiences. I was so impressed with my husband's choice in the AYCE buffet. India Palace is beautifully decorated and the Indian music playing in the background adds to the immersive ambiance because it was not overpowering. The restaurant was very clean (including the restroom) and the food offered this weekend was excellent! Many options were vegetarian and there was one goat dish l(a curry) and two chicken options (boneless butter chicken and a bone-in chicken kabob). The lunch buffet price for adults is $14.95/person on the weekend (we went on a Sunday) and I was able to use a $1 off Yelp-checkin as well. As I said, I was so impressed with the offerings for lunch because there was everything I could have wanted: Tea, appetizers, Mango lassi, food of course, and dessert options. We even got a basket of naan included with the buffet price! The restaurant became quite busy at 12:30 pm, but before then, it was very calm. Even when it was busy, it's not like people were waiting in a long line for the food or that food was running out left and right. Service was impeccable! The servers quickly and politely removed used plates and refilled water glasses. They even checked on us after we had settled the bill and were getting ready to leave. I told one of the managers how much I enjoyed the selection of food and the amazing waitstaff and he thanked me and shared that the restaurant has been here for 17 years. Pretty cool! The meat served here is halal and not very spicy, greasy, or salty. We left very full and very happy. Given that India Palace is in the same complex as a Korean AYCE (Honey Pig) and Japanese AYCE (Yuraku, Sushi on Mon-Sat), I think IP adds to the competition for foodies considering their choices really well. I have been to this place twice and both on weekends. I can not taste everything because they have so many options at lunch buffet. I focus on goat meat and biryani and both are great . The only other place which offers more options if Dharni in NC . Everyone working here is very nice and the you g lady I want to mention here ( forgot her name ) is amazing . This is the best Indian buffet I've found in the DMV yet. It's spicy enough that it's authentic but not unbearably hot. The selection is diverse. The buffet has probably twenty different main foods to choose from and half is vegetarian. The staff is diligent, impeccable and knowledgeable about the menu. I had gone for the weekend lunch buffet (one of the few places that offer this during these times) in order to take advantage of the early bird special which is $13.95 a person if you arrive before noon and pay cash. The buffet itself was kinda subpar. I didn't really like anything, like the Butter chicken didn't have enough flavor, the samosas didn't have enough spice, the chai tasted watered down, and the diy pan puri featured super stale shells. Stay away from the kheer, it's literally straight up condensed/evaporated milk with a bit of nuts. I only really liked the okara and onion fritters. At the end, we did not get the early bird special applied and paid the $15.95/person. I'm guessing you had to eat and finish between 11:30AM-12pm in order for it to be applied. Service was fine and there's plenty of parking. Overall not my favorite place for Indian buffets. read more

Very popular with locals , we attend our family members 70 th Birthday . The restaurant knows my family and st aside 2 good sized tables for us all to sit and once we were all seated we hit the buffet. Traditional appetizers as well as food but the goat meat was extra good with very soft meat as well as bones which we really like. The plate kept emptying and it seem like it took a bit of time to replenish so would suggest management to be a bit more responsive especially when it is such a popular dish. The other item that one does not see often was egg curry which was tasty based on feedback. What would have made this a 5 would have been the Manager accepting the yelp $1 off which.
