Tuesday 2/18/25 I had gone to an Indian buffet in Muddy Branch a few months ago, and my mom had made a lot of claims about "India Palace" being one of her favorite spots for Indian food and Indian buffet, so we're finally putting it to the test. My mom and I came for the lunch buffet for $18 each, and the service was alright, but nothing stood out. You get all of your food from the buffet except for the naan that gets delivered to your table occasionally. Also, as a tip, I'd recommend paying with cash as it's cheaper. I tried a lot of items, so it's easiest to rank each item into tiers of whether I'd recommend it or not: YES: - Mango lassi - Gulab jamun - Chicken biryani - Deep-fried bread (bathura) - Tandoor chicken - Saag paneer - Samosa MAYBE: - Chana bathura - Butter chicken - Goat vindaloo - Veg noodles - Aloo tikka - Beans - Naan NO - Patty looking thing (best way I could describe it as I don't know the name lol) - Kheer - Aloo matar - Rice - Methi paneer - Dhai vada (this was HORRIBLE) Overall, the buffet experience was okay for the most part, as the food ranged from awful to decent. It's clear to see that my mom's claims did not pass the test, and I'd easily recommend the Muddy Branch Indian buffet for my Indian buffet fix.

Side of chickpeas, with tandoori Mixed Grill

We had the mixed grill tandoori, what a bargain, a huge platter of amazing food cooked to perfection. We started with the shrimp and split the huge piece of salmon, which was moist and tasty. This dish was accompanied by a side of chickpeas and of rice. The palak paneer was excellent, somehow they made it tasty even though my husband insisted it be mild.

I always forget to review this place whenever I come here, and I also don't take good photos because I am stuffing my face the whole time. This is one of the best Indian buffets that you can get in town. For $21 on the weekend, you get a full buffet that includes many specialties, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian dishes, multiple desserts, coffee, chai, and mango lassi. You really cannot beat this as the value is great, and the amenities are even better. Fresh naan is brought to your table, and services extremely efficient despite how busy they can get. The food quality itself is also decently above average for all of their dishes. I would say, my only complaint is that on one corner of the buffet, it is impossible to go around people and can get quite congested during their peak hours. I highly recommend coming here, if you are in the area and are looking for a fully balanced meal with more items than almost any other buffet.

    Buffet on Sunday

I have been coming here more often lately. It's been good each time. The reason I keep coming here is that they appear to be pretty well priced for what you get. They always have tandoori chicken and butter chicken for the lunch buffet, which is also offered on Sundays. The best dish is usually on the big metal plates along the wall and they had this tender lamb dish once and a fried fish dish. Both delicious and well worth the price for the lunch buffet. This buffet is unique in that they offer mango lassi as part of the buffet. I really only had mango lassi during a buffet. Most of the dishes, I never even attempted at home so it's definitely worth the money to come here and quench your craving for Indian food. It takes a lot of spices to make Indian cuisine so unless you're investing in making Indian cuisine for the month at home, it's best to just go for a lunch buffet and this one does a pretty bang up

You don't have to choose. It's all you want.

Lunch buffet on a Thursday was an excellent experience. Food freshness and variety was top-notch. See photos. Unlike mass feeding trough buffet's patrons were civilized and orderly. Table service to replenish drinks, take away used plates, process payment and generally check up on us was perfect. Ambiance is pleasant. Sufficiently quiet for conversation - yaaaa! Restrooms clean and accessible. This place has been around for years and some of the furnishings appear worn. Yet everything was clean. Bonus: 10% discount for cash payment. Lunch for 2 was less than $40.00. We'll be back!

Got takeout, so can't comment on ambiance or service. Garlic naan: 5/5 flavorful and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend! Chicken biryani: 3/5 relatively bland with very mild spice. There is a hard boiled with several chunks of chicken. Overall, would give this restaurant another try: would get garlic naan again but skip the chicken biryani.

Having tried their menu items before. This time I tried their buffet on Saturday. My top picks: - goat, very tender and strong flavor - aloo masala. It's a good choice to have something a bit sour in the buffet, because most other choices are buttery. Didn't like: - Everything else was a bit bland. - Aloo tikki and pakora, was too chewy. Which I didn't expect because I came as soon as they opened. - They had fried rice instead of biryani, which I was looking forward to since I liked their biryani. And again, a bit bland. - Naan is somewhat on the drier side. This makes it sound like I don't like this place at all. But. service was great. Refilled my water and took my plates away in a timely manner. And they have mango Lassi included in the buffet, which is not common. It's not something I can experience nearby me other than here. So there is a value here, in that there is no competitor. And that's what 4 stars means to me. An above average experience. I ate everything there, figured out what things I liked, then kept eating those along with the unlimited mango Lassi. And left having a good time. Isn't that what we're all yearning for, at the end of the day?

I was driving for DoorDash and picked up an order for delivery and it smelled so good in my car that as soon as I dropped that order off, I came back here immediately for myself. I got spicy butter chicken, garlic naan and mango lassi. We also got Punjabi chicken and if I could give it 10 stars, I would. This place also has a lunch buffet so if you're around for lunch, I don't think you could go wrong either! The service was really good and I'll definitely be back!

Can you order from the menu for Lunch, or only buffet?

You can order from their menu during lunch.

Do they still offer lunch buffet and how much does it cost? I remember in the past mango lassi was included. Is it still included?

Yes they do from 1130 to 1445 ET. Infinite mango lassi and chai masala. Cost is 15 or 16 dollars if I recall correctly.

What is a lunch buffet price on Saturday?

The weekend buffet price is $14.95 and on the weekday it is $12.95. The extra $2 on the weekend is definitely worth it because I feel that there are extra dessert and entree items

    Do they have parking?

Oh yes. They are located in a strip mall. No shortage of parking

Do they have buffet for dinner?

No. Dinner has an extensive menu you can order from.

Even the recently opened and popular Karahi Boys in Sterling, VA made a somewhat disappointing chicken karahi (although their goat karahi was on-point). Not here though. This place offers three karahi options or styles- makhani/butter, Shinwari, and Butt- with chicken or goat meat. My wife and I picked the chicken Butt karahi and a side of the Lahori chana/chickpeas. The order took around 25 min to fulfill, but it was well worth the wait. The karahi was wonderful with a wonderfully coated thick gravy that clung very well onto the chicken, with the ubiquitousness of warming savory peppery spice in each bite, hiding a slight hint of sour-sweet note that would come at the back end, and made us forget about the disappointing ones we'd eaten previously. The Lahori chana, like many of the chickpea preparations in Northern India and Pakistan, was perfectly spiced with that effervescent note of the baking soda in which the chickpeas were cooked. All in all, a wonderful afternoon meal at a spot that is highly likely to be very frequented by us often. The goat karahi, charga, and rest of their BBQ menu will definitely be on our agenda next. If there was something to rue about, it was the lack of clientele when we went around 1:30-ish pm on a Saturday- not exactly lunch hour but we'd have expected to see more people there (although people were coming in sporadically for pick-up orders). I will highly recommend this place to people to go and try some wonderful Pakistani cuisine and keep the place in business. I, however, will advise against ordering any of the typical North Indian/British Indian staples, like butter chicken or tikka masala even if they're on the menu. Ask the wait staff for recommendations and focus on the Pakistani BBQ and karahi, which is what they're famous for and you'll have a much better experience.

Our guests were particularly interested in visiting because Tooso is a familiar name to many people from Karachi. Their first impression, however, was less enthusiastic, especially considering the restaurant's size and ambiance. We live in Herndon and have eaten at Tooso several times, although, for some reason, there had been a gap of a few months since our last visit. The restaurant appears to have changed since then. The seating area has been reduced, apparently to make room for office space and employee facilities. The place now has a somewhat rugged, basic appearance, although the atmosphere remains clean and peaceful. It is casual and somewhat dhaba-like rather than polished or formal. The service is largely self-help: customers have to pick up disposable forks, knives, spoons, and paper napkins themselves. For lunch, we ordered bowls of qeema, grilled chicken, chickpeas, bread, and rice. Unfortunately, we felt that both the quality and portion sizes had declined compared with our earlier visits, while the prices had increased. This was disappointing, particularly because we had recommended the restaurant to our guests based on our previous experiences. Tooso continues to benefit from its longstanding reputation as a halal restaurant serving authentic Pakistani-style food. Its location is convenient, with easy access from Route 7, and parking is usually readily available in the adjoining lot. Overall, while Tooso retains the name recognition and reputation that have made it popular among people familiar with Pakistani food, our latest visit did not quite live up to our expectations or to the standard we remembered from previous visits. I would give 3.0 stars based on our last visit. Zafar Iqbal, PhD

(I paid $50 after tip) Tbh I don't go to buffets often especially in Ramadan bc I feel the prices are high compared to how much you end up eating, but I believe they charge a lot for the variety put out. Reservation required - my friend called ahead of time a day or two to book us a table. You are assigned a table number. I love that the restaurant made people reserve to make sure they didn't overbook! It was FULLY packed so there wasn't a lot of space between tables and someone's chair behind me kept touching me but no big deal. Parking - very hard to find parking based on capacity. Luckily the hookah lounge, Bank of America etc allowed people to use their spots and didn't tow, otherwise the Clove parking lot is quite small. Iftaar buffet - lots of variety! They also let people start getting food 15 min before iftaar, that way there wasn't a huge rush as soon as fasting broke to avoid chaos lol - I appreciated this bc it was calm and controlled traffic at the table! People also left the main hall to go pray maghrib. Staff was great and was very attentive to make sure all trays were constantly refilled. The staff also checks to pick up your plates when you're done or getting another round of food haha. The front of the table has plates, then there's chutneys and salad, followed by chaat papri, dahi balay, pakoras, samosas and other desi snacks. The mains ranged from qabuli pulao, biryani, butter chicken, malai kofta, fried fish, chicken 65 and a few other items. The desserts were at the end of the table including kheer and gulab jamun. A separate table along the wall held cups and hot canisters of lemonade, qahwa (green tea), chai, Kashmiri chai, including ground nuts garnish and sugar, and soda. Highlights - lemonade (even tho there was a touch too much black salt), samosas, chicken 65, butter chicken, Kashmiri chai, and the cute warm gulab jamuns UGH YES. Skip imo - qabuli pulao (I didn't feel a lot of flavor so not enough salt or broth), dahi balay (idk if I didn't like their yogurt or what but these were not it).
