Kabob N Kahari has been one of my go-to spots since the old Silver Spring days, so finally visiting the Gaithersburg location brought back a lot of memories. This was always one of those places my friends and I would come back to whenever people were back in town visiting after college. The food still hits exactly how I remembered. The goat karahi extra spicy was packed with flavor, rich, saucy, and perfect with fresh garlic naan. The kabobs were juicy, the portions were generous, and the mango lassi balanced everything out perfectly. We ordered a take out of 3 items: cow feet(gelatinuous) lamb kebab, would prefer it to be more tender. beef shank(spicy), is my fav. Cute little spot that is good for dine in and carry out. And - the price is right! Each entree was under $13 on a Saturday night, and portions are very generous. We had essentially an entire meal leftover between the 2 of us to take home . Try finding that value at any other place! Dining area was clean and comfortable with plenty of seating and tables that can seat large groups. Spice level is decent, which we appreciated. :) Other reviews mentioned a language barrier but we didn't experience that. In fact, counter service was extremely friendly and the manager came over to check with us before we left on how our meals were. We will definitely be back! read more

The chicken Karahi for 2 is sooooo good. The chicken is savory and spicy and is perfect to eat with naan. You really could just buy it for yourself and save half for dinner later. Or you can bring a friend and share haha You can ask for it boneless or bone in but I recommend bone in. It always comes out piping hot! You can adjust the spice level as well. They also have really good daily specials so it's a good incentive to come back different days of the week. They staff are kind and helpful. Ordered the chicken karahi after a friend recommended it. It came in a big wok bowl of spicy, tomato-based sauce with strong ginger and garlic flavors from the pieces mixed throughout. I REALLY recommend getting the boneless version (even though a few bucks more) such a pain to accidentally bite into bones while eating (even in the sauce!!). Loved how steaming hot the dish was and how perfect it was to share. It comes with mini salad and two big pieces of naan. Salad was lowkey bland btw. And FYI: rice is not included!! Also loved the chicken tikka. It came with two drumsticks and a few smaller pieces (don't remember exactly), but it was honestly super moist and tender meat. It literally fell off the bone, so soft and supple. I miss having this in my mouth. Again, rice not included!! Haven't encountered prices this good for Indian food in a while. I'm def taking advantage of it while they're still low, haha. It's been forever since I've seen a biryani for $14 or less, wow. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. The staff member who took my order was a bit condescending and seemed lowkey miserable, but it didn't ruin my view of the place. The chicken was average and a bit greasy, and the salad was just okay. Unfortunately, as I was leaving, I noticed a roach near my seat. My new favorite spot. This was the square I grew up in and haven't been back in ages, but we wanted to venture out and try something new. So glad that we did! The inside is clean and spacious and looks new. They have high back booths so you have privacy and they have enough seating for large groups. The person who took our order was nice and patient with us since we were completely new to the type of cuisine, but we ended up grabbing the Boneless Chicken Karahi for two which came out to 30.73. It was made to order so we were able to tweak the spice level and took about 15 minutes. My gosh! The flavor was on point and strong. The flavor did not depend on the spice level and that made it fragrant and delicious. Like the other review stated, the food is absolutely delicious. The naan was also freshly made and it was soft and crispy on the bottom. Still thinking about this meal and wanting to come back. We were able to try the chai as well. I would get this again. It pairs nicely with meal and it does have milk in it so do be aware of that. Overall, I am glad I found this place. I had been looking for a new place to eat delicious food. The boneless lamb karahi for 2 is soooo good. The lamb is super tender, flavorful, and comes out piping hot every time. The sauce is rich, perfectly spiced, and honestly just off the charts. It's amazing to scoop up with their naan, which is soft, fresh, and seriously delicious. You could easily get this just for yourself and have leftovers for later, or bring someone along and share. The portion size is really generous and the price is very fair for what you get. This is hands down the best lamb karahi I've had. I used to go to Ravi Kabob House for karahi, but now Kabob and Karahi is definitely my new go-to spot. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and service is quick. My wife and daughter ordered the lamb and chicken kabobs and were both super happy with their meals too. Everything we tried was tasty and affordable. I went again and got the goat curry special and the Seekh kabob. It was delicious! The Seekh is very springy and well seasoned, which to me is an indicator of a good Seekh kabob. The goat curry was a very solid portion, with plenty of meat. It was also well seasoned and the flavors were on point. This is my new favorite spot in MoCo. My only complaint is that the way my food was packaged was not very well thought out lol. The goat curry was sitting atop of the kabob box in the bag. It spilled out a bunch of oil into the bag and subsequently my car. My only word of advice for the owners is to use a separate container to the curries, as they spill out of the side too easily in these containers. This place just opened (12/15). I visited the place a few days later. You order and pick up at the counter. They still need to work out the ordering process. There seemed to be a disconnect. I waited forever to place an order, and there were only two people in front of me. There is plenty of seating available. They have a refrigerated case showing all the raw kabobs and few prepared dishes. I wanted the butter paneer, which was on the menu, but was told I could not get that. They didn't really say why. I ended up getting the butter chicken, which was one of the prepared dishes. I also got the Chicken Boti Kabob and vegetable samosas. All were delicious, but I was disappointed since I had my heart set on a paneer dish. I will give it a try again, and hopefully, they have the ordering process ironed out. read more

The food here rivals (but does not quite surpass) that of my favorite kabob place of all time, Ravi Kabob House in Arlington, Virginia. The chicken kabobs here are actually a bit juicier than Ravi's, but the flavor at Ravi's just has that little something extra. The bread that comes with the meal is a bit fluffier here, so in the bread department, Kabob N Karahi wins. The chickpeas are another close race... both excellent, Ravi's are a little spicier. Ultimately, you can't go wrong with either place. If, like us, you live in Montgomery County and don't have plans to be in Arlington anytime soon, do yourself a favor and give Kabob N Karahi a try. First time trying Karahi, so I don't have a good barometer on what it should taste like. But I liked it, the aftertaste is unlike anything I have ever had. Ginger like, maybe it's nuts? For the karahi, They asked how spicy, and I said the spiciest they have. I was warned that it's really spicy. And it was a comfortable amount of spice. But admittedly I am a bit insane about spice, so not their fault. Also maybe Karahi's not supposed to be super spicy, I'm not sure. But it tasted great. Also had Aloo keema. Which came with a generous amount of rice and chickpeas. Great value for the quality and portions. It's listed as a starter, so we ordered to share. But if I were to come alone, and just get Aloo keema, I would leave happy. read more

So glad this opened across the street from our house. We used to go all the way to New Hampshire to get it but now it's walking distance from us. The only thing I've had there that I didn't quite like was the biryani because I wasn't a fan of the rose flavor. Aside from that, I've enjoyed anything and everything I've had here. My first time to kabob n karahi and it won't be my last. Had the chicken boti kabob this time and was excellent but wasn't quite what I was looking for. I think I was expecting the chicken seekh kabob and said the wrong item. The salad with chutney that came with it was a salad but missing the chutney. If there was any on it, there should've been more to be noticed. The tandoori naan has an upcharge for it to be garlic naan. Honestly, I don't understand why adding garlic is worth an upcharge, is it that much extra effort? no matter how small of an uncharge, the bread is good but not worth the upcharge. read more

First time at this location, I figured it must be as good as their SS spot. Ordered carryout and maybe I should have eaten there, as there was plenty of seating available. Kabobs don't really travel too well, so by the time I got home, the beef seekh kabob was pretty dried out. Plus, the naan gets steamed to death in the paper bag and ends up with a weird texture. I love their chickpeas here, although they don't overload the rice like other places. The salad kinda just takes up space, so I just use it on top of my kabob/naan wrap. Their green sauce is too watery and not very flavorful. Do yourself a favor and make sure to eat there, so your experience is better. WOW !! I had no Idea this place was so close to the Shell Gas Station I go to off of Lindbergh Dr (7620), right across from the Montgomery County AirPark. Kabob N Karahi is so fantastic. You know a Kabob restaurant is great when they have Lamb Chops Available. Not only do they have Lamb Chops Available, but they also have Curry Chicken and Curry Beef as side dishes!! I normally do not eat ChickPeas but one of the owners let me try them while I waited, holly molly they were so tasty and fresh!! You have to try this place !! They also make their own fresh bread!!! This was my first trip to this restaurant. I've been to the one on New Hampshire a lot. Ordering my usual, it was as expected. So good! There was a lot of flavor to the chicken, and it was perfectly prepared. I would have preferred more chick peas over my rice, but that just gives me a reason to go back. I want to like this restaurant so much, but this is the second time I have ordered the paya from here (to-go) and it's as though they don't know how to package gravy! Paya is a gravy dish and the gravy is my absolute favorite part of the dish. The first time we ordered it, also take out, by the time we got home all the gravy had spilled out. So this time, I made sure to ask them to better package it and for extra gravy...the picture attached will tell the rest for me... Their boneless chicken karahi and goat karahi are okay. We are so happy they opened a new location near us in Gaithersburg. I went often to the Silver Spring location, but now I'm going to the Gaithersburg location more frequently. The take-out portions are so large, they overflow the containers. The home-made bread that comes with most meals is so fresh and delicious, we could almost come just for that. Of course, the main thing is the food, and the daily specials are great, the karahi for two (goat!) is a favorite, as are the lamp chops and chicken kebabs. The meals are so big I never have room for dessert. The food is legit! read more
