Another amazing visit to Indian Cafe in Lodi. We tried a new dish this time. Paneer Pakora, which is like a cheese fritter. So delicious! I need to remember to order that again next time. We also had our regular order of Palak Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala with rice and garlic naan. Hello, me and a friend were there today. We had the butter chicken with rice, garlic naan bread and the vegetable Pakora. Everything was great, but the vegetable pakora was cooked in dirty oil. It should've been a golden brown, but it was a dark brown, like dirty grease. Please change your dirty grease that is currently in your deep fryer. read more

I always see this little cafe when I am getting gas but just never had the time to stop in until recently when we were in the area getting propane. We walked in to some catchy Indian culture music videos playing on the television, and 3 associates welcoming us to sit where we like. We were brought some water to start and then placed out orders. Just smelling the freshness of our food being cooked so close to us made me salivate even more excited to try the food.,once presented to our table we dug right in to our chilli chicken and garlic naan. So warming and fresh and delicious. Mmm. After about 20 minutes we were asked how are food was and if we would like to order anything else. As we did, and chose to get the smothered samosas with chickpeas and delicious chutney sauce and cream on top. I really like the brightness of the decor that was hanging up and around the establishment. Eye catching. This place is in a great busy location for travelers but also good for the locals as we saw a good amount of food delivery drivers picking up orders for customers. I really loved the gobi manchurian it was super tasty! I ordered lamb curry, garlic naan and also tandoori chicken. The chicken didn't really have that much flavor and I wished that it was more flavorful. I really loved the lamb curry, rice and naan! I'd come back just to order some manchurian. First time here. Place was clean and nice. They had booths or tables. Pitcher of water and cups were already on the tables. Server was really sweet and attentive. Food came out quick. Fresh and hot off the stove. My daughter and husband shared the NON VEG COMBO. Veg Smosa(appetizer) , Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry, 2 bowls of rice, Garlic naan ( so good) , Gulab Jamun(dessert). The restaurant is a bit small, but as soon as you walk in the smell is AMAZING. The spices hit your nose just perfectly, the taste is AMAZING too. The garlic naan was perfect!! LOVE this place! It's right off highway 5 at CA 12 and has become our requisite go-to whenever we're passing through. We usually get the Non-Veg Combo for Two. It comes with two samosas, and enough garlic naan, butter chicken, and curry lamb, for us to both leave full after having a very tasty lunch AND have enough leftover for us to have a full dinner at home the next night. you guys. oh my gosh! i haven't had indian food this good in a while. every single time i took a bite i smiled because of how delicious it was. we got the chicken tikka masala and coconut chicken along with rice and garlic and regular naan. my personal fave was the coconut chicken while andy preferred the chicken tikka masala. both were so delicious, flavorful, and creamy. i was in heaven. the rice was fresh and soft. the naan was good, but we've had better. because of how delicious everything else was i choose to believe today was an off day for the naan. it wasn't bad just seemed overly chewy and not fresh. it was hard to tear and just not the best texture. flavor wise it was fine. we also picked up our order a good 20 min after it was ready so definitely could have been an us problem. we will definitely be back very soon and will be frequent visitors here. read more

One of the best Indian restaurants I've had on the west side, and being a truck driver it's in a very convenient spot. My wife and I always get the Non-Veg combo which consists of two dishes with rice (default is one butter chicken and lamb curry but we both got butter chicken), garlic nan, two samosas, and Galob Janum (dessert). To drink we got the strawberry milkshake which was okay and a mango lassi which was pretty good. The service is always fast. We very much enjoyed our visit to this new spot in Flag City. The space is located next to Starbucks and has been nicely done. Bollywood blares from the overhead tv adding to the overall ambiance. Service is prompt and efficient. There's a bit of a language barrier which prevents service from being more engaging but I applaud their tenacity! There is seated/ waiter service, but the bill is counter paid. The food is really the star of this production. My dining partner described it as clean food. It does seem like the recipes have been perfected and passed down through generations. The menu options are varied and there are many vegetarian dishes. They have only been open a little over a month. We were not in the mood to dine in, so we got our order to go. Very Clean restaurant, Delicious food. Great service. And I love that we have another option for Indian food. Hubby had his favorite Chicken Tikka Masala and instead of my usual Butter Chicken, I tried the Shahi Paneer... comes with rice, and we ordered a couple of Garlic Naan. I came for the veggie thali. I've had it before and it been pretty good. Tonite though they gave me grilled paneer and a not very good paneer masala as the 2 veg dishes - super boring. We have eaten at the Indian Cafe right off of I-5 several times recently. In fact, we have even driven down from Sacramento to eat there-45 minute drive. The food is that good! We have also had the Thali's (both Veg and Non-Veg). Delicious! Also, the servers are very responsive and try to help in any way possible either selections of dishes, level of spice, etc. All in all, we will be stopping many more times. read more

indian café was honestly one of the most average indian food experiences i've had -- not terrible, but definitely not great. the portion sizes were ridiculously tiny, especially for a place that advertises itself as family-style. the food itself was just okay. nothing stood out, and it definitely didn't feel worth the price. the naan was small and the entrées barely had enough to share, which made the steep pricing feel even more frustrating. the staff was fine, but they seemed like they didn't really want to be there. we felt rushed to order and the service didn't feel very welcoming. overall, it just didn't live up to the expectations, and i honestly wouldn't come back. read more
