I visited Maharaja Indian Cuisine in Lodi, CA [5 W Elm St] on Tuesday, 04/21/26, around 9 PM. I discovered this incredible restaurant by attending the Yelp Event for Yelp elites and Yelp community members back in March 2026. I decided to place a takeout order for the evening. I found a coupon deal in the mailbox, where I was able to get one entree free by purchasing a total of three entrees. I saved nearly $16 from the entire bill! In general, the price points of the food were fairly reasonable. I ordered the following dishes for me & my family: * Fish Pakora (mild) * Butter Chicken * Lamb Vindaloo (spicy) * Chicken Tandoori with Bone * Garlic Naan Bread All of the food was spectacularly flavorful, savory, and palatable. Even though everything was tasty, my personal favorites were the Spicy Lamb Vindaloo served with the Garlic Naan Bread and the Fish Pakora. The inside of the restaurant was thoughtfully decorated. I loved that there was a red flower wall with the Maharaja name lit up on it. The dining room had plenty of tables and chairs available as well. This restaurant is beyond marvelous. The Indian food served here is so addicting in flavor that I am eager to come back to try more dishes. I need to get some more of that Spicy Lamb Vindaloo and Fish Pakora, too! I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant. You will not be sorry.

My first Yelp Elite event was held at this location, and I'm grateful to have been part of it. It was a great opportunity to try a new restaurant and meet new people. My favorite dishes I tried were the aloo tikki, chicken tandoori, and the mango lassi. The chicken tandoori was flavorful and not dry at all. It was my first time trying aloo tikki, and I loved them! They were especially great with the mint sauce or curry. The owner also mentioned they'll be offering a lunch buffet seven days a week, which will be a great way to sample more of the menu. The owner and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming, and all of the employees worked hard to make the event a success. Thank you Rachel for making this happen!

I ordered take out from Maharaja Indian Cuisine last night through Door Dash, ordering their Butter Chicken which is offered in various levels of heat, the Aloo Tikki, Fish Pakora and rice. The ordering process was simple and the restaurant confirmed the order almost immediately with a pickup time. I arrived about ten minutes early and found the restaurant itself inviting and very clean. I was greeted immediately upon entering and was told that my order would be ready shortly. I was invited to sit in the spacious dining room while the gentleman retrieved the order. Everything was packaged well and came with tamarind sauce and mint chutney. The aroma was intoxicating and the food delicious! I was also informed before I left that their hours now extend to 2am everyday! Outstanding! My go to for Indian cuisine in Lodi!

Stopped by for dinner and the YELP event was setting up! So exciting to have an event in Lodi. Also our wonderful community Yelp manager Rachel was there!! What a wonderful time they put together for the Yelp community. Now the restaurant this was our 3rd time and we ordered the Masala Dosa's and I have to say there coconut, mint and tomato chutney's are amazing! They sambar was also amazing. We also had a cup of Dahl that was also good, it had great flavor I prefer mine a little thicker, but it was good!

I was here for the Yelp event about a month ago & I made it back. This is about 30-40mins away from where I live but I was in the area on a Friday evening so i stopped in to grab some dinner. It wasnt too busy when I stopped in I was seated immediately. Very clean & enjoyed the music that was playing. I enjoyed watching TV as I waited for my food. Food came out quickly. I ordered the butter chicken, fish pakora, & garlic naan. I didn't know, but our order came with a soup. I'm not sure what kind but it was like a vegetarian soup maybe peas? It was good. The fish pakora was really good. Perfectly made & the fish was flaky. It came with a side of I believe it was shredded radish. I tried all the sauces with the fish pakora. The green sauce was very spicy, but all the sauces were perfect as I used it to dip my fish pakora. Of course the butter chicken was my favorite. The creamy sauce was perfect and the garlic naan was delicious. Staff were friendly and service was great. I'll be back to try their lunch Buffet. It's Monday through Fridays from 11 to 3 PM for $16.99. There's public parking in the back right next to the restaurant. Great location

Overview: I visited Maharaja tonight as part of a Yelp event where I was able to try a large variety of dishes. First of all, the family was charming and incredibly inviting. The ambiance was very classy and gave a very modern aesthetic. The staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming as well as quick and efficient. Most importantly, of course is what I thought about the food. Below I as far as my overall experience I would say as a person who struggles with the spice pallet that comes in traditional ethnic foods I found this cuisine to be very entry level. I found that the spice pallets were complex and had great depth but were not overpowering for somebody who is inexperienced with intense spice mixes. However, if you or someone who frequently eats Indian food or is used to more intense spice palettes like the rest of my group is, I do think that offering the same dishes at varying spices would satisfy the most amount of people. Being entry level myself I found the spices to be just enough. However, the rest of my party found it to be lacking in spice, I think offering a mild version for beginners and well spiced versions for the veterans would be the most apt way to increase satisfaction amongst. I was also pleased to find they had a variety of vegetarian options that had both incredible texture, well balanced and complex flavors, and still felt like a whole sustainable meal. If you would like more detail, feel free to read the rest of the review where I will break down each dish individually. Mango Lassi: while this was something new to me I found it extremely refreshing and I found that the yogurt within the drink gave me a nice respite from any of the dishes that were particularly spicy, therefore making an excellent pairing. Aloo Tikki: It had an amazing texture being very crisp on the outside and pillowy within. Bursting with a wellspiced starchy filling. I found it to be very satisfying even though the denseness of the filling threw me off just a bit. Overall, I would definitely try it again! Vegetable Samosa: another amazing vegetarian friendly appetizer. The outside was crisp and the inside was filled with vegetables. But this is one of those dishes that did challenge me seasoning wise. It wasn't spicy at all, but as someone who's new to garam masala and spices of that nature, I found it right on the cusp. So again a very good one for beginners. Tandoori Chicken: I was pleasantly surprised that the chicken wasn't gamey in the slightest. The meat was perfectly cooked and not too dry and patted down with ample spice. I most enjoyed it paired with their mint sauce, which did surprise me. However, without a sauce I felt it lacked seasoning and spice. But as a pear it was perfect for the spring and it was probably my favorite thing I tried tonight. Chana Masala: another score for the vegetarians as this seemed to be a chickpea based Curry with complex and deep flavors that paired incredibly with the garlic naan. Shabi Paneer: another score for the vegetarians! I found the paneer to not be too dry and pair incredibly with the sauce which also had complex flavors and very mild spice. Butter Chicken: A western favorite and classic this butter chicken felt very different from others. I've tried. This of course being my go-to dish at any Indian restaurant. I was pretty sure I knew what to expect. However, I was wrong. This was much better than any other place I'd been while not challenging me spice wise. It had an acidity and depth that made it much more interesting. Paired with garlic. Dawn and I was one happy camper! If you've read this far down, I hope you found this play-by-play helpful and I really hope you put Maharaja on your restaurants to try list when visiting Lodi!

We have a couple of places we like, but they are either take out only or don't have a vibe inside that makes dining in seem like a good option. Wow am I glad we tried Indian Flavors! Not only was the service fantastic and dining experience wonderful, but the food! Wow! I had only had Korma at these other places, thinking I loved it. Well I did love those places, but I don't think I will be able to go back. The amount of love put into the dish really showed me how little I knew about how good it could be. It really was something special. Paired with their garlic naan (one of many Indian bread options I plan to try) it was seriously spectacular. This alone earns a 5 out of 5. They also brought out this dessert cheese dish for us that was so packed with flavor we both had to do a double take. They apparently have a lunch buffet with a super reasonable price that I will surely be trying. I have gone basically my whole life eating the staple butter chicken, but this restaurant helped me fortify how much I love Korma while inspiring me to expand my taste and try new Indian dishes. I hope Lodi, Galt, and the surrounding cities can help support this restaurant. What I tried was special. The Mexican restaurant that used to be here was a favorite of many locals but didn't make it. Please try this place if you love Indian food and help make sure we keep restaurants like this in our town.

The samosa was crispy and the chick pea curry was fantastic!! Unfortunately the tamarind sauce was ketchup. I was disappointed, but the other amazing components almost made up for it. We ordered chicken makhni and saag paneer for our entrees. Neither was what we have come to expect for these dishes, but both were tasty, so maybe it's just a regional flavor? The chicken was a little sweet and the paneer dish much less creamy than I'm used to. Tasty, but different! The young lady who waited on us was a delight! Attentive and helpful. One area for improvement is maybe clearing the empty dishes off of the table as we finish. She's young and learning, so I can't fault her much. The dining room is clean and orderly - cloth napkins on the tables. The chilled water bottle for each table earns major points in my book! I wish them much success!

Near the entrance sat a beautifully arranged bar selection, while the spacious seating areas easily accommodated larger gatherings of ten to twelve guests without feeling crowded. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance between modern comfort and lively elegance. Equally memorable was the hospitality. The service throughout the evening was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely warm. Our server, Khushi, delivered exceptional customer service with kindness and confidence, guiding us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations and patience that elevated the entire dining experience. The butter chicken was undoubtedly the star of the meal -- rich, savory, and deeply aromatic. Every bite carried layers of warm spices that blended beautifully into the velvety, creamy sauce. The dish had a comforting depth of flavor without overwhelming the palate. Paired alongside it was the garlic naan, served warm with the perfect touch of crispness around the edges. Its buttery garlic aroma complemented the butter chicken flawlessly, making each bite even more indulgent. The samosas were another standout appetizer. Golden and crisp on the outside with a satisfying crunch, they opened to reveal a soft, fluffy potato filling seasoned beautifully with traditional spices. When paired with the accompanying sauces, the flavors became even more vibrant and addictive. To finish, the jalebi provided the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Delicately crisp yet syrupy and rich, it offered a delightful contrast after such a flavorful and spice-forward dining experience. Its sweetness lingered pleasantly, leaving the evening on a memorable note. Overall, this restaurant delivers not only flavorful dishes but also an atmosphere and level of hospitality that make the experience feel complete from beginning to end.
