Found this hidden gem while looking for Indian/Pakistani food in the area. We tried the chicken biryani and the samosa, and it turned out great, the taste and the spices. Will go again to try other items. The place has few tables and can probably accommodate around 30-40 people. Street parking is available in the front and at the corner of the street.

Love this place! The paneer korma is so flavorful and we love the chicken biriyani, tikka masala, and saag paneer. The service is always kind and attentive. The prices are decent for the portion size and it's way better quality than Indian places in center city! BYOB and dine in is available until 9:00 PM.

Because of busy schedules, my Mother's Day celebration was postponed about 3 weeks. All good with me because we ended up here, with a bottle of red and a bottle of white and delicious Indian food! Butter chicken, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and red snapper made it to our table along with fried vegetable fritters and 2 veggie samosas. All so very good! The food is fresh and the chicken is tender and the sauces are so good and complex! We enjoyed our food, the sweetest service and a complimentary dish of gulab jamun. There is no longer back porch seating, however, we were told that tables will be set up soon for sidewalk dining. This is a great place for good food!

Great new addition to west Philly! Probably the best lamb chops I have had out side of home and I said the same thing in my reel on Instagram! We were extremely happy with our visit, it's a clean atmosphere with both outdoor and indoor seating, the food is fresh, flavorful and appetizing. We had a lovely chat with the owner and are looking forward to future visits. The desserts were amazing too! Lam chops 10/10 Chicken tandoor 9/10 Cheese Garlic Naan 10/10 Tandoori Paneer 7/10 Malai Kulfi 10/10 I definitely will be back to try the biryani and some more Lamb chops.

Good flavors but fairly modest portions. Vindaloo flavor was really great but it felt a bit padded out with potato which is fine, but harder to justify the price. Definitely a great addition to West Philly and everything was served hot and fast.

I decided to order dinner from this decent restaurant for the first time on 3/8/24. When I say it was finger licking good; there is no lie in that. I ordered through DoorDash and my driver was quick with delivery service. When I received my food everything was as described from the menu. Everything was also a first try except the Naan, which is one of my favorites when it comes to Indian cuisine. The Quail was exquisite especially paired with the Turmeric spices; that's one dish I will be ordering again. Lastly the "tasty" Pakoras. I didn't know a dish like this existed until ordering from Indian Char House. Another favorite of mine. If you are looking for a decent dine in, be sure to give Indian Char House a try!

The lunch buffet was pretty slow around 1:30, but all the food was still out and warm. The chicken biryani was my favorite, but the lamb saag dal was also delicious and the samosas. The food was well-seasoned and a little spicy which is just how I like it! The naan was just ok and so was the chicken tikka masala. I've had better Indian food but this was still pretty good. They also make their own mango soft serve in house which tasted delicious. They offer student discounts as well. We found parking in a lot right beside the building. The staff was friendly and patient with my questions. I appreciated that they had spice levels since we had a mix of people wanting their food mild and spicy. The buffet looked appealing and the seating areas were clean. The inside was nice and pretty big. I imagine they are packed during busier times. We were taking our order to go, but the buffet looks like a good time. We ordered Veggie Samosas, Paneer Makhni - cheese cubes cooked in a tomato sauce with butter [gluten-free], mild and spicy Butter Chicken (Makhni) tender pieces of chicken tandoori cooked in a fresh tomato sauce with butter [gluten-free] and Chicken Tandoori half chicken marinated in yogurt and herbs, then barbecued [gluten-free]. Some plain naan and for dessert Gulab Jamun home-made milk-balls dipped in honey syrup. I really enjoyed the flavors of the spicy Chicken Makhni. The meat was tender and the tomato sauce had a range of spices that made it hard to say when! The chicken tandoori had nice flavors too, but the meat was a tad dry. The Paneer was good, but the star of the show was the Chicken Makhni. Throw some rice and mint chutney in with the chicken makhni and naan .... Happiness .... I would love to return to try a Biryani. The Gulab Jamun was a miss. It lacked the syrup flavor I'm used to. The pricing was around $33 per person for what we ordered. There were leftovers. I would recommend ordering ahead as the wait time was a bit long. Everyone was stuffed and happy that we tried New Delhi. I'd repeat more often if I lived in the area.

As someone who doesn't typically gravitate toward Indian cuisine, I've been genuinely impressed with how approachable and satisfying their menu is. Their saag paneer, in particular, is a standout--perfectly creamy, flavorful, and never overpowering with spice. One of the biggest wins for me is that Ekta's food is flavorful without being too spicy, which is a rare and much-appreciated balance, especially for a self-proclaimed spice wimp like myself. Even better, my six-year-old--who usually finds something to complain about with every delivery meal--actually requests their dal makhani. That alone is enough to keep Ekta on our regular rotation. My wife has her own go-to order: garlic naan, samosas, and chicken tikka masala. She's consistently happy with everything, and it's clear the kitchen puts care into each item. Everything arrives hot, fresh, and packed with care. It's hard to find reliable takeout that pleases our whole family, but Ekta has managed to hit the mark every single time.

I didn't end up finishing my food, but both my partner, and I had terrible nausea, vomiting, stomach ache after eating the curry. The chicken was also extremely dry, tasted, sour again, and it was so nontender. I do not think I will be ordering from this location again. Order at your own risk!!
