This restaurant is hyped all over tik tok so I went to try it. I think it's a trendy place to be but that's about it. The drinks were good and I quite enjoyed mine. The duck was small and a bit dry and not very flavorful. The curry was runny and thin so it slid off of the veggies and duck. The pad Thai was honestly quite small and tasted like any pad thai you could order at any random restaurant and it was also just vaguely dry. My biggest grievances with this place was the ambiance. I feel like they wanted to fit as many tables as they physically could in that building and boy did they. The tables are so close together and so tiny. We had and I'm not exaggerating under 3 inches between us and the table next to us and we were on the wall with booths on one half. The poor women go got seated next to us had to move her table on top of the table on her other side and squeeze between ours and hers just to get into the booth. And even then it was tight so her butt ended up on our table and I felt bad because she looked so embarrassed and apologized but there was nothing she could do. The silverware is ridiculously long for the small table they give you. We did not have room to comfortably fit 2 entrees on the table with our drinks and our forks and our silverware and our small plates. We also had a reservation, and our table wasn't ready and there was no waiting area. They didn't have an estimate of when it would be ready so they sent us out. We walked around for 15-20 minutes before they were able to seat us. They also had music playing not quietly and because of the proximity of all of the tables everyone was kind of talking loud to be able to hear each other. It felt more like a bar than a sit down restaurant. There are so many Thai places just within a block of grandmas I could not understand why someone would choose to wait there rather than go to Chatayee or Dara. Third time going here and the food is always bomb! This pretty and aesthetic Thai restaurant is one of my favorite go to spot for Thai food. I usually get their Panang Curry and Pinapple Fired Rice. They are so good, you can't go wrong! Some other must tries are their Drunken Noodles and Massaman Curry. Very flavorful and you can get it to your preferred spice level. For dessert I have tried their Mango Sticky Rice, which you can't go wrong with! For drinks I got the Grandma's Lychee which had perfect sweetness. My husband made reservations for us to eat here for Valentine's Day and I was so excited because Grandmas has been on my list to try! I am so glad he made reservations because it was packed! We got seated and the hostess mentioned that since it's Valentine's Day we had an hour and 15 minute limit to eat. Which for us was fine because we wanted to eat and get home. I am stoked to provide an update and am so glad I gave Grandmas another try. The menu has been revamped both in the form of items but also the menu book itself. The menu is literally a stocky book. It illustrates if something has an allergen which was a concern with my last visit. The service was really good as well, the server was easy to flag and was super sweet. We got a table for six around lunchtime on a Sunday relatively quickly, we had to wait roughly 15 minutes. Crab rangoons - you get 5 for $15 which may seem like a lot but these are the best crab rangoons I have ever had, they use fresh crab, none of the imitation stuff Rad-na mhee krob , pad thai, pad kee mao drunken noodles and pad si ew were all excellent options with generous portions! We are no Thai food experts, but the menu contains a pretty good variety of foods. We ordered the papaya salad (spicy level 2, refreshing and delicious); Fried Calamari (standard fare), meat balls (OK, nothing too special) and Chicken Wings with Saratha sauce (crispy and tasty). Came here on a Thursday night and luckily we didn't need to wait to get seated. I think we got lucky because on our way out we saw there was a line. We ordered three main dishes, the crabmeat fried rice, the khao soi and the ratchada duck. Our favorite dish was the fried rice. There was plenty of crab meat and the sauce added a nice tang to the dish. The khao soi was probably our least favorite - there was not a lot of noodles and lots of wontons that became soggy. The broth was also on the thicker side and was not like the consistencies we were accustomed to. Duck was great, was nice and crispy with plenty of meat and veggies. This place is popping when we walked in. If you are looking for a quiet evening, this is not it. We were welcomed with EDM music and Bruce Willis trying to save the world in Armageddon (screened on the wall). It was sensory galore lol. Family enjoyed it though, nonetheless. Big lover of Thai food so I anted to check this place out. Inside is quaint and very cute with lighting, decor, and flowers on every table which I always appreciate. Our server was very pleasant and high energy. We made an early 5:15 Saturday dinner reservation and good thing we did because the place ended up being pretty packed starting around 5:45. I like the menu and there's a fun list of cocktails as well. I highly recommend the Hot Grandma if you like a spicy tequila beverage. Both of our noodle dishes were delicious and very filling for the portion, just enough for the both of us. Again I could have ordered the spice level for my dish a little higher, as I did 3 for mine. My only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is because after the food came, our server never came back to check in or see if we needed another drink. Be careful with the drink menu, they don't include the fees for the liquor, so my drink was listed as $16 and it came out to $21.45 on the bill, which was almost the same price as my entree and I never would have ordered that.
