I had a 40th birthday celebration here. We made reservations a year in advance and informed the owners that we would be celebrating there. We rented 6 sites close to each other and informed all our neighbors we would be celebrating that weekend. All neighbors had no problems with my group except the owners of the establishment. We have been going there for years now and did not expect the owners to have such a problem with us. We were told to be quiet two ours before quiet time each night while our neighboring campers had not heard us. We feel we were targeting for no reason. Would never go there again even though we have been going for years prior. A friend of mine posted a review and the owner deleted it. The owner doesn't like people and should not be working this business. If I could do a negative 5 review I would!!!!!!! Never again read more

Disappointed and won't be back. Their internet was totally useless at all access points, and there was no cable. We camp to get away and relax but were waiting on an important doctor notification. In addition to their lack of internet, Verizon service is spotty, and AT&T got no reception. We drove ~9 miles to get connections and after 3 nights determined to leave 1 day early. They give no refunds. Consider campgrounds with more amenities and closer to Cherokee like River Valley Campground or Happy Holidy RV. read more

One of the gorgeous campgrounds! We had our annual family reunion of 24 people here this year and it was a lot of fun for the little kids. They played in the creek and enjoyed themselves a lot. We booked sites 13-15 and 18 with water and electricity. Private property owned by a couple who lives on premise. Staff extremely friendly and campground/bathhouse extremely clean. The staff are constantly cleaning and roaming in their carts to ensure the campers have a good experience. Laundromat onsite if you have an extended stay. It has 2 washers and 2 dryers. Convenience store at the entrance. We picked up lots of ice, firewoods and sweatshirts here. Help our local businesses! Cleaning station for those who go fishing. Certain cell phone service carriers worked but it was nice being away from civilization for a week without working devices. Back to cave man's days...loved it. Regretfully writing this review after a WONDERFUL weekend. This isn't the first time my husband and I have been to Indian creek- our first experience was SO wonderful we knew we needed to go back and take friends. We were honest when we checked in about being there to celebrate a birthday. We had six sites total in the same general area to make sure we were close in proximity to our friends. We communicated with our party about quiet hours and greeted all of our neighbors upon arrival. All of the fellow surrounding campers were happy we were getting to celebrate in such a beautiful location- they agreed to let us know if we disturbed them at all. On our last evening, the owner came to our site at 9:15pm to let us know he heard us at his house (we had no music playing) while strangely our neighbor RIGHT BESIDE us reported to not hearing a thing. Also, another friend who was staying close to the office never heard us. We did continue to hang out and have s'mores- past quiet hours, but were extremely mindful of the time and our voices. The owner came by again at 11:15 on his golf cart to tell us we needed to disburse as we were still extremely too loud. So we did. We had been planning on setting a standing weekend for the next year for all 11 of us to make this an annual event; however, after feeling extremely targeted/watched while spending time with friends the majority of our party will likely never return. If your looking for a family friendly, clean, secluded, and a beautiful peaceful place to stay.... then this is your campground. We had our first stay there this week. It exceeded all our expectations. The campground sits between two creeks on the Cherokee reservation. You hear the sound of running water from the creeks throughout the campground, which put us to sleep every night. The bathrooms and cabin we stayed in were both super clean and functional. There is not a bad thing we could say about our stay. The staff was friendly and courteous and were constantly checking on people throughout the campground. We will be back for many more stays!!! read more

Had a great 3 days here in site 65. Staff were friendly and always present whether it be in the general store or walking their dog around the campground. Site was clean, comfortable, and being riverside was awesome. Traveling to downtown Cherokee and nearby towns (Dillsboro, Sylva) made for fun way to see the area. Recommend Mingo Falls hike (go up the left side of the waterfall along the makeshift trail to the top) and Alum Cave hike in Smoky Mtn Nat'l Park. Definitely will return in the future. read more

I always look forward to camping here! It is definitely one of the more primitive feeling camping sites compared to many of the other sites available in Cherokee. There are some sites available with electricity and water which is a great plus! They're really nice owners here too so I always feel welcome here. I'm always a sad camper every time I go and this place is fully booked and I have to camp elsewhere! read more

Very beautiful campground. We had site number 1 which was gorgeous right on the creek. Next time would get site 2 because site 2 was a little closer to the water plus site 2 had to go thru our site to get out. So site 1 only has a certain amount of space to set up because site 2 has to drive thru your site. Bathrooms were nice and central. The playground is small but my two year old loved it. Laundry room was nice. The little camp store has alot of things you might need but forgot. All the camping essentials including snacks and breakfast. They sold marshmallows and sticks to roast them on. They also sell firewood and each site has a little fire ring. From Cherokee its the furthest campground but very worth it. Very close to Mingo Falls and a must see. read more

We only stayed for one night. The people were very friendly at check in. We drove to our campsite (site 10) and instantly liked it. You can hear the creek as soon as you drive up. Although the neighboring site was close I felt like the trees gave us a little privacy. My husband uses a CPAP machine and there was a plug in for that. There were two outlets as well as a larger outlet for an RV. The site had plenty of space. We could have probably put 3 full sized tents up. It made it good for us because we had several places to chose from within our site to put our tent up. We camped as close as we could get to the creek. Falling asleep to the sound of the creek is heaven. The bathrooms are very clean. They had a dehumidifier in them so they didn't feel damp. Water pressure in the showers is better than most hotels I've stayed at. This is a good no frills camp ground. The creek is the drawl... It's beautiful and peaceful. People were catching trout to cook and playing in the creek. You have to pay a $10/day fishing license fee anywhere in Cherokee BC it's a reservation. Purchase these at the campsite store I enjoyed just sitting with my feet in the water reading a good book. The only down side is that the fire pit didn't have a grill piece over it. (You can purchase one in the store where you check in.) read more

We have a family tradition of camping here every year. We have stayed at this campground for the last 4 years. We usually rent one of their cabins and stay in campsites 64-66. This year we decided to try out their primitive sites as well. My parents found this gem by mistake and it is well worth the trip from Florida every year. The staff is friendly, helpful and has everything you need. The campground and bathrooms are well kept. The campsites are set up to be private so that you can truly enjoy the sound of the creek :) read more

We took the kids on a whim last weekend to camp for the first time. Nothing was available, I'd called everywhere. But this place popped up and I called and got one of their last spots. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! The location alone is so beautiful. We passed so many crowded campgrounds on the way to it and were glad to discover the privacy each spot provided. Yes we had campers on almost all sides, but it didn't feel that way at all. The camp store was awesomely stocked, so everything we forgot as we ran out the door that morning was right there. We were in 3A which was on a little trickling run off of the creek, but the creek wasn't but a campsite over. The attendants were helpful and nice. We wanted the kids to see a waterfall on this trip, so when we left we saw signs for Mingo Falls. 100% go see this!! It's super easy to get to the falls and we stayed playing in the water for at least half an hour. Thanks Indian Creek! read more

I was trying to confirm a reservation with this campground, when Jon responded to my message. I asked Jon a question about one of their rules and his response was, I'm not going to argue about it and I have canceled your reservation. I was shocked! This was just a question not an argument. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again, which is sad because we had stayed twice before and were happy. Obviously something has changed at this campground in the past few years and not for the better. read more

We had the pleasure of staying at this campground this past week. We didn't want to leave. We chose a creek-side campsite with electric and water and loved it. The campground is very clean, with garbage cans nearby, which are picked up regularly. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Most, if not all, of the sites are tree-covered, offering protection from the hot sun. The gravel in the sites help keep the dirt and mud down, less tracking inside. We will definitely go back. We didn't use the showers and bathroom, as we were in a camper and didn't need to use those facilities. I did check them out though and they appeared clean. My only complaint is that maneuvering around the campground can be a little difficult with our 28-29 foot camper, as some of the turns are tight. Our friends with a smaller camper had no issues. All-in-all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave! read more

We came to Indian Creek from a web search and saw the best reviews. The staff were very helpful and did their best to make things great for my 3 1/2 yr granddaughter, my wife and myself. We were in our first trip in a motorcycle popup that we pulled with a jeep because of having our grandaughter with us. The site had electric for our convience and my CPAP. The site is right on the water and only for tents but because the trailer is movable by hand and just 4 ft wide it worked great . This trip was just overnight but we have booked two more stays for two and three nights. There is no cell service and limited internet near the bath house which by the way was extra clean. I enjoyed the seclusion and the river sounded like sleeping in the rain. Wonderful trip for our family. read more

After reading positive reviews for the Indian Creek Campground, I called and reserved a full hook-up site for an RV that we would be renting. After the reservation was made, I was told that the only sites for a 36' motor home were supplied with a 30amp electrical hook-up. Being unsure if the rental RV required 30 or 50amp electrical hook-up, I explained to the woman on the phone, Tina, that I would contact the rental company to confirm the required electrical hook-up. The RV requires 50amps. I called Tina back within 48 hours to cancelled the reservation that was set 40 days in advance. I was told that I would be charged $10 for canceling??? She said she spoke with her supervisor, but the fee could not be waved??? Obviously, the $10 is no big deal, it's the fact the I was unaware of any cancellation fee. Again, it was cancelled within 48 hours and 40 days prior to reserved date. Beware of fees. read more
