It's good for what it's good for. For me, it was a welcoming oasis on my drive from Portland to Bend where there's not much. I needed a place to use the restroom and this place had nice clean ones. I also stopped on my return trip as I know there's not much else in the beautiful mountains of Oregon. I also stopped at the little coffee shop where I picked up a few drinks for the rest of the ride. I think it was bottles coffee's and teas and they were good. As a casino, it's a bit small but it seems to serve the area well. They had a decent amount of slot machines and many of them were newer. I had visions of the old reel machines but there was all of the beeping and flashing and whirling and excitement of a locals Vegas casino on a Monday afternoon. In any case, pointless to gamble here: they have zero money for payouts. Table games have always been limited here, for no discernable reason, so they never had that as a draw. The machines are dead. When we visited it was 90 degrees in July. There were three dogs out front that appeared to be in distress. One had a severely smashed paw that appeared to be stomped on and was trying to limp around. We asked several of the casino staff for a bowl of water and they said they lived "up the hill". We gave them water several times which they rapidly drank. We asked the Warm Springs police about getting the injured dog help and they said "they are just strays". Horrible people, horrible town. In the middle of nowhere you'll generally find a casino this like many other casinos is no exception as it's in the middle of like a ravine! Being this was basically the only thing in the area we stopped mostly for a restroom break but me being me I threw some cash down on the slots because why not as you know I didn't win anything so it was totally just for the few spins of it! They also had a complementary beverage station with some soda and other things we definitely grabbed a cup or two which was just what I needed at this time as this was just a stop lol! Good place to come when your going to and from Bend from Portland. It's a small casino with just sits and a few blackjack tables. They have a cafe where you can order some food and grab a brew. I think they have a bar as well but it was not open when I was there. The place is a smoking facility and smells like smoke. I have never had much luck here but I know a few that have. There are a lot of nice people who frequent here and I will come back on my way to and from central Oregon. read more

When you're driving through this stretch of HWY 26, all you'll see are signs for fried dough, so of course, I was going to get it for the crust of my pizza! With friends in tow last week, we made our first visit to the Indian Head casino which is about a 90 minute drive from our home in Bend. It was worth the trip to see the new facility and play a little blackjack. THE GOOD THINGS: Big advantage of the new casino in this new location is that the blackjack tables ($5 - $100 limits) are open beginning in the morning (10a?). But that's just one of many advantages. Opened earlier this year by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs when they moved the casino gaming from the Kah-Nee-Ta (sp?) resort location that is a good 30 minute, and difficult, drive off the highway, to this convenient location right off the highway. Bright, open space (but smokey...this is a casino after all), friendly people, dealers at the table who know what they're doing, lots of keno type slot machines (if that's your thing...not mine but my friend loved them) and cool ceiling light covers that change color from time to time. WHAT I'D CHANGE: As drawback, I'll agree with the previous reviewer that there are too few video pocker machines in the mix and the ones that are available are not great. If I could wave a management wand here, I'd add in more and better video poker machines to differentiate this casino in a good way over others. I also remember, with affection, the pretty recent days during which some tribal casinos use $3 lower limits during daytime hours, as opposed to the $5 limit here. If I were making management decisions, I'd lower the daytime limits (say before 4p) at the blackjack tables to encourage folks to come play. FOOD & BEVERAGE: Free coffee and sodas for sipping while you play. Two places to eat if you're hungry; a snack bar and a restaurant. We didn't try either, but a local Bend paper reviewed the restaurant a week or two ago with basically "AOK" outcome. SUPPORTING THE TRIBE: It may not be a cool thing to do, but my hubby and I like to play blackjack and we enjoy supporting tribal casinos when we do that. (Although in this case, all four of us left with some of the casino's money in our pockets so maybe not so much support after all?) I'm not as familiar with the history of gaming revenues for the Confederated Tribes but know for most tribal casino endeavors, not only do the casinos help create jobs and a revenue stream, much of the money goes back into the tribal community. And that the dealers seem to be always friendly at these smaller tribal casinos makes them an unintimidating place to learn to play blackjack if you want to do that. This place could be so much more in everything, but sadly it's Not. Last time I was here, was in 2018 and I really thought it be better. They Did enforce a No Smoking rule for inside the premises, so that is a plus. I came mainly for the slot machines and couldn't believe how tight the payouts were. And the selection were mainly of the cartoonish ones, not what I had expected. I didn't try any of the food so can't comment about that. Don't eat here! Worst food, terrible slow service and the food is nasty. I ordered an omelet and we were the only three people in the entire restaurant and it took 35 mins to get our food. Then my omelet, with only THREE ingredients arrived cold and missing one of the three ingredients I had ordered in it. They didn't even remake the omelet they just made me wait an additional 10 minutes while they cooked the spinach that was missing inside of my omelet and brought it to me on the side. I am a returning customer here. They have a restaurant that serves great food. They also have a Tule Bar and Grill. Great prices, great service. The environment is nice and CLEAN! Far from trashy. Don't go if you want to watch sports. Went on Sunday because their website says all the NFL games shown. Called to double check and was told the same. Went to the only restaurant open at 1pm which has TVS all of which were playing Twlilight movie. We and multiple other customers asked for them to be changed to football and staff said they would but that they were busy. 30 minutes later we reviewed our food. It was cold and not good. TVs were never switched over. Only reason giving it 2 stars is the staff at the grill that opens at 2pm was about to switch a TV to football for us and were very nice. Will not be back read more

Went on 8/21/17 on Sunday at 5:00pm. They had pot roast which was over cooked by hours, the chicken was dry as the bone. The only good thing was mash potatoes. They offered 10 items for main courses and then the salad bar. Beyond the smallest buffet I've ever seen in my life costing me $23.00 PER PERSON!!!! For the nastiest and driest food I have ever eaten in my life. Even the staff agreed that they were disappointed! They are charging over priced nasty food like izzys style? But izzys offered more food at over half the price! Super disappointed for a casino you would think they have some good food not like the crappiest dump I've ever been to. NEVER COMING BACK. Very basic casino, I only saw slots. There are two dinning options. The first is a deli type window in the casino where the food options looked iffy. Think nachos made with cheese out of a can. My husband and I haven't been to a casino in probably 30 years and this was our first time at this one. He had no idea that you aren't allowed to take pictures in the casino and as he snapped his first photo inside, a gentleman came up to him and rudely informed him about the no photo rule. It would have been nice if he could have KINDLY informed him that photos weren't allowed. ( we saw no postings of such a rule).
