We visited the new Waterdown location last Friday and had a fantastic experience! The place was booming with guests and take out orders. With any new restaurant opening up (they were open for 1 week), there were a few very slight bumps in the road but all was forgiven due to the generousity, of our hosts and of course the incredible food. A diner next to us was thrilled with their order and though a few minutes behind, I overheard them say it was "well worth the wait". It was a reminder that it is impossible to open a new restaurant without some minor growing pains and made me wish other visitors were more like the understanding visitors next to us and less petty than other diners in attendance. We were traveling back to Toronto from Niagara when we turned to Yelp for lunch suggestions on our way. Indian Hut is a sweet little gem! It is tastefully decorated and smells so good upon entering. We were the only patrons on a snowy Saturday at 130 pm and were greeted and served promptly. The menu is extensive, but the lunch menu is an incredible deal with the right amount of a variety of foods for just about $15 pp. My husband opted for Lamb, while I got a vegetarian. I love Palak Paneer, and theirs may well be the best I've ever had. The naan they served us was fresh, hot and delicious. We decided to try the Cheetah mango local beer (we shared just one because of the weather), and as promised, is the perfect accompaniment to the food. I didn't walk, I *ran* to review this place! I ordered on UberEats & while I haven't technically been to this business the food was straight FIRE so I knew I had to hop on Yelp. Wish I could give it 6 stars, such a great value for the portion sizes and the taste was incredibly authentic. The tadka daal was delicious and the butter chicken with white meat was so tasty as well. My kids devoured the samosas! We will be ordering from here once a week from here on out! read more

I had an excellent experience at India Hut Grimsby. The food and service were exceptional. I really enjoyed the butter chicken nachos, chicken kebab, and the beef vindaloo. My partner enjoys a high spice level but rarely receives a dish that he would call spicy but not here! He asked for extra spicy and they understood the assignment. He almost couldn't finish (in a good way). We will be back for sure even though we live over an hour away. read more

Loved the food here. I was surprised it was amazing as its in Grimsby (small town). This place is a gem on route to Niagara. I ordered butter chicken medium (bogo) so I got two for the price of $11!! It came with fresh naans and saag. The saag blew me away! Haven't tasted it that good unless you eat in Scarborough or Brampton. This plc is getting bookmarked for my food stop to Niagara!! This is my first visit to the India Hut. It's located on a main corner in Grimsby, Ontario. There is parking, but you may have to drive around to find a spot. The place is clean, and they have some very good pricing on lunch specials. I must eat a gluten free diet, and there were some good choices for me to eat. Be careful if you have celiac disease to ask all of the right questions, and realize that there may be a small language barrier. The waiter was prompt and friendly. I ordered the butter chicken and the okra. The tables are beautiful solid marble tops, and the seats are comfy. The decor looks like the restaurant has been around since the 70s and the paint job is pretty rough, but I am assuming that they have gone with some of the original elements, but hey, I am here to eat. The food was good. I don't know if I'll be back in the area or return, but I left full. read more

Had this place a few weeks back and the beef curry was very good. Ordered today and it was very very oily and salty. The amount of oil was spilling over the edges of the takeout container. It didnt taste very good, certainly not like a few weeks ago. Nan also didnt seem cooked very well also tonight. Not sure if ill be back. read more

Ok so let's put it this way I was born and raised in Toronto with access to Indian food all over the place, and I never thought I would find some of the best Indian food I've ever had in Grimsby, ON but straight up, that's what's happened. Any and all of their dishes are delicious, and savoury. The staff is so very friendly, and their portions are generous. A group can eat well for a reasonable price. So happy to support this business, and I wish them much prosperity and longevity. read more

This place showed me how to love Indian food. I have never been a fan of Indian cuisine however I was convinced to go here by my girlfriend for a quiet dinner. The aesthetic of the restaurant is perfectly done - Indian through and through but not over the top. Service was excellent, food was truly incredible. This was our first time here and our first time trying authentic Indian food. Our server was wonderful so friendly and explained the meals. I tried coconut soup and it was very good and on the sweet side. The beef-makhani spicy amazing! My daughter tried the chicken-malai spicy and again it was amazing!! Had lunch here today with my husband, brother and nephew. Three of us had butter chicken and one had the madras chicken. Also had a side of rice that we shared and which was perfectly cooked and a plain and butter naan to soak up all that gorgeous sauce. Totally delicious and while waiting the waiter brought us an order of pakoora as a appetizer on the house which was a lovely gesture plus these little balls for dessert. This was our second visit there and will definately go there again. The waiters are prompt, efficient, friendly and quick to refill your water glass. Overall an enjoyable experience. read more
