I went for a dive class. My air tank was leaking. There were small air bubbles leaking from the top. Another person's was also leaking. My BCD was missing some hooks so all my things were not in the right places. At the end the owner comes in and goes off on a tangent about global warming and dinosaurs. I WOULD NOT recommend. I had my equipment serviced on 10/11/24 and was charged for parts. My equipment is under warranty and parts are included. I spoke with Dave and he agreed that he made a mistake. He was going to give me a credit for the parts. He was going to contact Aqua Lung to get my equipment back under warranty. I have been calling for several weeks to get this resolved. Unbelievable Horrible experience, I have never seen such poor customer service in any industry let alone one I have spent so much time in, I have been actively diving for 28 years and a NAUI divemaster for 25years, took in one regulator two tanks for service and one drysuit for seals, after seven weeks of zero communication I figured I would check on my equipment, person in shop replies your regulator is done but are you sure you brought tanks here, yes I am sure two tanks, let me check again, no there are no tanks here of yours, yes that's right my tanks have left the shop (why), no answer, what about my drysuit, not done, (why) waiting for seals, I found seals the next day they are all over eBay, amazon, there every wear, at this point I want my property back I will do the seals myself, I CALLED THE OWNER to request my suit back HE THEN WENT IN SOME KIND OF TIZZY AND PANICKED STATE, REPLYING I HAVE PULLED THE OLD SEALS AND I AM GETTING HEART SURGURY THIS WEEKEND AND REFUSES TO RETURN MY DRYSUIT, I TOLD HIM I HAD A TRIP BOOKED AND DEPOSIT PAYED I WANT MY SUIT NOW, this was Friday 5/24/24, he said I will call you back of course he never did, lock me out for five Days intentionally knowing it was a four day week end for them,. you see this guy would sooner have someone lose their deposit and miss there trip before giving up a measly $200 seal job, apparently on further investigation with local divers, because of the incompetence of the service department this is on the owner not the worker this taking things apart right away and leaving them sit are saying he has started the job is a tactic of this shop so you cannot get your gear out until he can charge you, quite the shyster, Continued to call for several more days he has my numbers would not answer, I then had to trick the shop in to answering by using a friends phone, answered right away, requested to come pick up my suit, shop boy replied it is not here, (WEAR IS IT), no answer, I had to threaten police action to get my suit back, IT TOOK AN ADITIONAL THREE WEEKS TO GET MY SUIT BACK TEN WEEKS IN TOTAL), Intentionally holding my suit now out of spit, (REMEMBER I HAVE PULLED THE OLD SEALS, HE HAD NOT, HEART SURGERY STILL IN SHOP EVERDAY FROM THE START OF THIS, this guy is a pathological Liar, he did manage to squeeze some additional money from me since he did not get the seals job by charging $246.00 for single reg service, unbelievably stingy person, Before you use this shop check other reviews, the bad one across all platforms they are the same this guy really does not like giving refunds are missing any amount of dollars, and the other trait of his is he keeps your numbers and email so he can ignore you for as long as it takes, OMG what a pro read more

A great place to get scuba certified as well as get all of your gear! This is a nice and closely run friendly place, where you really feel part of the scuba community. We did the fast track Open Water scuba certification, which required two full Sundays of classes with pool training (8;30-4). You have a book with practice quizzes that need to be done prior to the class, and during the class you pretty much review the quizzes and turn in your assignment. Then you do practice skills in the pool for the second half the day. After your second day, you take a 60 question final and are pretty much done. Next, is going to Dutch Springs in Allentown to do the open water diving over one weekend (Saturday and Sunday). So after 4 full days you will be scuba certified and ready to enjoy the great open waters without having to do the intro trainings at resorts. I also love that they have multiple pre-planned diving trips through out the year all over the world, so after being certified you will automatically have a lot of options to explore the world with a group from Indian Valley Scuba. On December 24, 2017 my husband and I visited Indian Valley Scuba for 2 reasons; to fix my husband's regulator and to get a snorkeling mask for me. Rather than expressing my true feelings I will only share exactly what happened. Upon arrival there was a couple working with the only sales clerk present. It was obvious the couple was buying necessary supplies for an upcoming dive trip. My husband and I then took the time to look around for snorkel masks. Seeing they did have what I wanted but not in my size we figured we needed to wait until the sales clerk finished with the couple he was working with. No big deal right? As my hubby and walked around the store admiring all the 'stuff' the couple paid and left. Our turn I thought. Great! We promptly asked the sales guy if they had any masks in the stock room as all the ones on the floor were too small for my face. About that time approximately 3 customers walked into the store to also buy 'stuff.' The sales clerk came out of the stock area and went straight to the new customers! He didn't even tell me at this point that he didn't have what I wanted. He just began helping the 3 new people! I felt dissed to say the least. What am I chopped liver? Grrrr! Oh well my brain told me. It's OK. Everything always works out. Right??? About that time a second person appeared from the back then both sales clerks conversed with the 3 people who came in after us. Double diss. I was about to leave without buying anything when I was finally acknowledged by the clerk. The clerk measured my face and stated he would order the mask right away but not before he tried to sell me glasses that would fit inside my snorkel. Can't use those I said. My prescription is way to strong So forget that. How about a go-pro mount I asked. Oh yes we can get that too. Great I thought. I could deal without the glasses. What I really wanted was the go-pro mount. I was assured he could make that happen. And everything would be there in a week. I paid. Bad move on my part. Might that be New Year's Eve? And then..... I Inquired about fins. As this clerk gave me the pros and cons of all the types of fins he suggested I needed booties for my fins. Not only did I need the $95.00 fins, but I needed booties as well. Nope. Sorry. Don't want them. My husband then scheduled his regulator for repair and we left. Thinking all was well and that our 'stuff' would be in within the week we kind of went happily on our way. I thought it best to give the dive shop a break so I waited until January 3rd to call to check on our stuff. Nope not in I was told. Repair not done either. By the sounds of it when asked when I needed it by I lied. Something told me to lie about our departure date. So I did. When this sales clerk asked me when we were leaving I told him January 9th. He then said they would be ready by the 8th. Cutting it close don't you think? On the morning of the 8th I called and got the same clerk who dissed me in the beginning and tried to sell me stuff I had no interest in. I told him who I was and he stated...'have I called you yet?' Rude. 'No I'm just checking.' 'I'll call you just as soon as your mask is in.' They did. But it wasn't the the a$$. It was some lady clerk. I went to pick up the regulator and my go-pro snorkel mask! When I arrived our items were sitting on top of the counter. My mask? No go-pro mount. The sales clerk (same one that dissed me from the beginning) said we never discussed the go-pro mount. Liar I thought. A$$ I thought. Since I already paid for the mask back in December I figured I better take it. I'll find something else and return this one for a refund. It's that sales guy; the one with the German sheppard who greets customers when you walk in? He's the one. In my opinion he is a pompous a$$ who is a rude know-it-all type of person. Better take notes, video of interaction because he will lie too. All I can say is this.....Wish there was another dive shop I could shop at because this sales guy at this dive shop is rude, crude and not nice at all. read more

It's hard to find exceptional customer service nowadays, well I found it here. I booked a last minute trip to Jamaica and wanted to get scuba certified. I called Indian Valley Scuba and spoke to Sue. She called me back within the hour and was able to find an instructor available the following week. We scheduled a three day training session with my instructor. Jim was personable, incredibly knowledgeable and has over 30 years of experience diving. You can tell the people running this dive shop are passionate about what they do and know their stuff. Your experience may vary here. I've been dealing with this company for over a year now and I can't say I'm very happy. At first they were great when it came to service my first set of regs which impressed me. So I enrolled in a Solo/Independent scuba diver course in March of 2018. So I paid the $350 price tag, sat through the classroom course and completed the pool session. Only problem here is the open water portion as I don't have a dry suit nor am I qualified to use one. So the owner Dave said they'd keep me updated on when the next opportunity would be for me to complete my course when it warmed up. for the next 12 months I heard nothing from the shop. I had to contact them several times over the phone asking them what the deal was. So I came over and visited the store around January 2019 because I had a special bail out bottle that required servicing. While I was there I started asking about the solo diver course and expressed interest in a dry suit course. Dave the owner said ok, I'll look into it. He also said my special bail out bottle regulator set up will take about a week to service. So For the next couple months they never called me or emailed me to tell me anything about the status of my equipment or classes. Instead of waiting around I started to make visits about every two weeks to the shop. Every time I came to visit I was met with excuses and It'll be serviced by the end of the week. I stressed every time that I'm interested in a dry suit course and finishing my solo/Independent diver course. A couple weeks ago I walked in, smiled, and said hello. Then I said, "I'm here to pick up my bail out bottle no matter what condition it's in. I don't even care if it's in pieces". Then I said "that $350 course I took a year ago for the solo/independent diver which was never completed? Don't worry about it anymore. I wash my hands from your establishment". Then I said "Those 3 tanks I purchased from you a year ago? I know you will Visually inspect them and hydro them for free as needed. But I just can't trust your company". I was met with excuses as usual. I asked what my balance was for work done to my bail out bottle and there was no charge. It's been a few weeks since this happened and I haven't heard a thing from the shop to make things right. I tried to be patient, I tried to be understanding and I was courteous. I wanted to wait before I posted this review to let feeling settle down, and I really feel that something needs to be said. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Good luck. read more

Anyone using this dive shop should think twice. Signed up for a dive trip and the shop told us we could dive the same trip 2 years later. They decided to charge us $3,000 MORE, 40 days before the makeup trip. This was not an option for us, and now we lost over $8,000. Second time in three years that we had all of our scuba gear "checked-out" by IVS and both time we have found that we had problems. Both time we tested the gear in a pool before heading out for a dive trip. First time the high pressure hose on my dive computer leaked the length of the hose; called got a new hose replaced ourselves. Just last month we had all the gear checked out again for a trip in November. Upon our checkout of the equipment-- My husband's BCD had a leaky dump valve and also the hose for the dive computer was leaking worse than mine. All the paperwork indicated that all was okay. We took the equipment to another shop; we learned that both of our BCD's are leaking at the seams; the dump valve had a bad gasket; and the regulators have mandatory upgrade that were never done!!!!! So I ask you: would you trust this shop with your life. We will NEVER again! read more
