Tired looking place. There are not enough pool balls for either of the pool tables, the library is a joke, and they say they have shuffleboard but they keep their pucks locked up. Very little to do around here. their pools are satisfactory. Smells like weed at night. The cabins are ok. the age restrictions are crazy, you have to be 18 to work out. I'm 15 and can already drive but I can't even be in the same room as a treadmill. This place feels like an old white community. I never like to come here ever again. read more

We personally love Sun Outdoors properties. However, this was very deceiving. We didn't look in depth to it because it had the title of Sun Outdoors. But this is a mobile home park. Respectfully again, this is a mobile home/full time living trailer park. We felt very awkward camping in between people who have obviously lived here for years. We then requested to move to the new area that was recently developed - *staff was awesome. Our trip ended well, but packing up our stuff mid trip and switching spots was definitely not ideal. We have other Sun Outdoors trips planned for the year, but I do not think we will be back here based on the type of "campsite/community" it is... Again, Sun Outdoors is an amazing company which is why we try to stay at their resorts. But this by all means was nothing what we expected and we had to constantly tell people not to come when they asked where we were staying... I hope for big things in the future for this property. read more

This was a HUGE disappointment!! Quite expensive for a poor quality resort. We have stayed at another sunoutdoors resort and assumed this would be just as great. However, the pool was run down, bathroom had some nasty worms I've never seen before and the staff were rude. We were there for stagecoach and purchased over priced shuttle passes. The shuttle going home was impossible to find and the wait was ridiculous. We called the resort and the very rude man who picked up the phone hung up on us twice. We will never return to this resort. It's over priced it should be way cheaper for how crummy the resort is. read more

Hmm where do I start? Bikes stolen while we slept, they were chained to hitch. Painted over our power cord while it was plugged in, a few days later it began smoking and had to be replaced. Broke into our vehicle, smashed a window. People sneak in and use the pool in the middle of the night. Homeless people wander around and use the restrooms at night. Heard stories of stolen vehicles. Full time residents are rude. No management for months at a time. Park is in an undesirable part of Indio, not Indian Wells. I could go on but I won't, long story short it's unsafe. Do yourself a favor and go to Shadow Hills RV. Same price but gated and better location. read more

These pics are less than accurate. This place is very very run down. We arrived to find they'd given our spot to someone else, and offered us two options. We asked which was nicer and the woman was snotty in retorting, well you're idea of nice might be different than mine. Super helpful. We walked to see the options. One was high traffic corner with no grass, no shade, bare bones--but since the other was literally up against a huge dumpster, I think she could have wagered a guess on which one might be preferable. First night, our daughter's electric scooter was stolen. We asked neighbors if they'd seen anything, and he said it's common for tweakers to come in at night and steal bikes and stuff. The people in the office were nonplussed about the whole thing. Again, super unhelpful. They have cameras at the entrance but hadn't bothered to check even days later when we checked in. And were rude when asked. We've checked out several neighboring resorts for when we come back because this will never be a place we will stay again. One positive thing--the other guests here were all so incredibly warm and friendly. Our dog got so much love from friendly neighbors walking by, and everyone loved chatting with our kiddo at the pool, so even though she was the only kid in sight, she had a blast too. read more

I've stayed here 5 out of the 7 times I've come to Coachella. Unfortunately this year was extremely disappointing. We rented a "cottage" which in reality was a single wide trailer, which is fine. Cleanliness was decent, definitely not perfect, but it's the desert, so that is expected. Where we had the issue was upon checking in, the refrigerator was not cool, we figured it just needed to be turned up. When we woke up the refrigerator was warm so we had to throw our perishables away ($150 worth.) We let the maintenance team know and he let us know that he had to order a part. There was no additional solve. We had to find things to prop against the refrigerator to keep it closed. For the increased prices they are charging during this time, the features of the place should at least function. At check out, they could have at least offered to take what we lost off the cost, but instead, they just threw up their hands. read more

1 star is being generous. Resort was subpar in comparison to other Sun Outdoor Resorts we have stayed at. Amenities were few and far between, in addition to being poorly kept and run down. Was there for Stagecoach 2023, stay and shuttle passes were over priced for the service we received. Staff was not available as were shuttles. When calling for assistance we were hung up on twice. I have a severe traumatic brain injury I am Caucasian and was forced to move during covid-19. Touring around the Coachella Valley i decided to come here a 2nd time the trailer park on the busy corner of 111 and jefferson in INDIO not INDIAN WELLS. I stayed at this trailer park November, December 2017. I had a problem with the front desk agents who were very rude and I was feeling ripped off. My credit card sorted the issue but the Hispanic women at front desk agents did not like me. maybe because I am Caucasian who knows. the little 'clique" of front desk agents apparently "banned" me from the park LOL. I did not know this or I would have avoided this trailer park. In June I made a reservation and I sent photos of my RV its a 1992 class A. I was dealing with Kendra who was very polite and it was easy to check in. I had no problems with anyone or anything until i went to the office to pay for more time. the first time i paid over the phone covid 19. the second time in the office a hispanic front desk agent reconized my traumatic brain injury slow voice and notified the new manager that i was banned by the park. She did this after I spoke with the manager for a very long time. I got along well with the manager and then when I left this employee thru me under the bus and it did become an isssue. I started seeing how bad the place really is like the grease from the bbq by the pool is just oozing out almost into the pool by the clubhouse. then if you take a shower a mop bucket is being stored there so you have to move it. then you look at the employees. I have nothing good to say anything good about any of them. today is August 15, 2020 and I am going over all my expenses and I found out that I was double charged for two days of my stay. it was a terrible experience during covid-19 and if I had known how unprofessional discriminatory the staff would be I would have never stepped foot on this property. There is lots of places to stay in the Coachella Valley. The current manager told me 10 percent off AAA then two days later said no she never said that. my mom was there when you said that and she wrote it on a stickier. I have nothing good to say about this company or their employees. in 2017 i saw and chased someone ripping off two bikes. the employees could careless. lots of tweekers, lots of tweeker homeless, lots of speeding rude full time people living there. negative 100 stars!!!!!!! read more

Very upsetting the Prices have doubled since 2017 with a drop in services. It is NO longer a RV resort but a Trailer Park. The Wife did NOT feel safe walking the Dogs at night. Never have I Paid $300 for power for 2 months plus a week. read more

We stayed here for a week and paid approximately $1200 for a one bedroom park model. From the moment we arrived it was awful. We had mail delivered and the mail system (the office) is so screwed up that our mail was missing, in the office, for days. Besides that, we arrived to a total plumbing problem. Cloudy murky water coming out of both the kitchen and the bathroom sink, as well as the tub. We contacted the office and they sent out a guy named Dwayne who took off the filters from the faucets and said he'd be back. Well we were thinking that day of course. Well, we were there an entire week and he never did come back. Therefore, when we used the faucets, the water would blow all over and make a mess. However, we couldn't really use the faucets anyway because of the nasty water, and had to use bottled water for coffee and brushing our teeth and washing dishes, etc. It was ridiculous. We saw Dwayne several times after that day in the park and he completely blew us off...like there wasn't an issue??!!!Completely ignored us. At one time we even asked him if he was coming back and he mumbled on that he didn't have the part and he would have to go get it but he never did that and they left us hanging for the entire week. As well, the tub was clogged and would not drain and it was disgusting. Again, we complain and nobody came. I then went to the office to speak to some sort of a manager and complain that Dwayne never showed back up and we are still living with the plumbing issue. They shot me off to speak with Sherry, whom I assume is the manager, and at the time seemed concerned and gave us a 10% discount which was about $100, nothing really, but even so...nobody ever came to fix the plumbing. During the last day of our stay, I then spoke to her, in which she said "we really need to get in there" and I said "well, at this point there's no need" and she said "oh yes, we've got back-to-back people coming in so we need to get in there and get it fixed", in which I replied "OK that's fine" and still, nobody came. Another thing to note is there's absolutely no towel hooks or bars in the bathroom. You have to lay your towel on the toilet or the very little room on the countertop and then when you get out you wet towel needs to go back on either the toilet or the very little counterspace. Plenty of room on the walls for towel hooks but nothing. It's a cute little place, but definitely not like renting a vacation rental and we would never ever stay here again. Do you self a favor and go around the block to Indian waters or find another place because they are you will get a way better rate and a way better place to stay with way better management and way better people living there. The new people they have moving into this park or not what it used to be. It used to be a very renting a vacation rental and we would never ever stay here again. We are staying here for month of December, 2018. Bikes are being stolen all over park. There is no security here anywhere. No security gate. I watched several suspicious people in cars cruising up and down the park...appearing they were scoping out for easy theft opportunities. One of the shower buildings had absolutely no heat. In fact the window was wide open every day in bathroom. There is empty lot at side of park. Full of trash, old tires, broken glass, and just dirty. Front office building run down, in need of updating. Cable tv not the best. Many lower channels fuzzy. Internet is ok on phone, but don't expect to stream movies on tv or pc. Bandwidth not the best. Ok to stay, but do not expect good security. Theft is a real problem here. read more

We stayed one night on our way to Anza Borrego State Park for a week over Xmas break. I went on the internet for Carefree Resorts & printed a coupon for $25.00 off your first night at any Carefree resort. They accepted & applied the coupon. We arrived about 7:30 pm & the office was closed so they had left a paper on the door with our site number on the map. However, there was no information for the WIFI, so we couldn't use it (& we wanted to). The resort is very large & has 3 pools. However, they are spread out and very small. I was very disappointed in the campsite. I reserved a pull through & they put us in an area that was all "park models" with people who were living there full-time. I don't like camping in an area where people are living, as opposed to being with others who are nightly campers. The space was really small & all concrete. There was a shed on the space for the full-timer use. It was so narrow there was no room for any picnic table or any other amenity. Just full hookups. I think that someone had moved out of the full-timer spot & they just gave us that spot instead of giving us one other other spaces in the park for nightly rentals. If it was more than one night I would have been really angry & unhappy with my stay. There was a restroom building across the street from our space that had a small yard next to it (all concrete) with a chain link fence around it & the smallest commercial pool I have ever seen. It was not at all enticing me to use that pool. I was really turned off by all of it. The buildings are not attractive at the "resort" either. All the buildings are very basic & look like cheap construction. Not anything attractive. Before checking out I went to the front desk to ask where I could get diesel & the woman at the counter directed me to a station but didn't even know what brand of station it was. She asked where we were headed & I said Anza Borrego State Park (which is only an hour south & the largest State Park in California) & she had never heard of it. I didn't feel the customer service was good at all. I noticed this on the phone as well when making reservations. I felt they were not friendly, it was more like they were doing you a favor by answering any questions. (kinda bitchy!) I think this resort packs in too many units in too small space & is not a "resort", it is just a large RV park. I didn't use the showers so I won't comment, but my husband did. read more

Generator stolen, random people wandering around at all hours. We were sold a "site" in the back storage lot - next to the broken-down golf carts with no security lights, broken glass on the ground, and old RV's that looked like they had been there for years. Management just shrugged their shoulders when our generator was stolen - she said "well, there is a lot of theft here." Kind of tells you everything you need to know. Too many other great RV resorts in the area to bother staying here. read more

We stayed here for the first time for Stagecoach 2015. Now this was my first year of Stagecoach and it was fantastic! The staff was pleasant, easy check-in/out, clean venue, nice festival goers, spacey grass area, and a good price compared to others in the area. I only have one small complaint which was our RV shower was clogged so we had to use private showers in the pool area. They were clean and private, it's just the shower I used was cold water only. The hot water knob was broken is all. But that's it. We had a blast and will be here again for Stagecoach 2016! read more

My friends and I stayed here for the Stagecoach Festival, April 2014 and we had a blast! When we arrived they allowed us to split the site cost among all of us evenly so one person didn't have to put the entire stay on one credit card. We had 7 people and stayed for 4 nights. It was $5 extra per person over 2 people but I think its 4 now. There were showers, pools and a lot of fun-loving guests! The pools were small but for how hot it can be out there they got the job done! There were always people hopping in and out of the pool and just hanging out in the pool area. The showers seemed more like the showers you'd use after being in the pool but they were fine. There were 3 showers next to the pool we used so sometimes we had to wait for 1 or 2 people to shower but we were parked close so we would drink a beer or hop in the pool and go back to the shower a few minutes later! They offered a breakfast cart in the morning with coffee and other breakfast foods. There was also a shuttle to take you to and from the festival each day which you had to purchase separately for $35 total for the 3-days. The shuttle picks you up at the front desk of the RV resort and drops you off at the designated drop-off area at the festival. There was a small grass patch at our site that we used to set up beach chairs and our shade. Everyone was friendly and we hung out in our site under an ez-up tarp that we brought for shade. We also made meals, drank some beers, met other stagecoach goers and had a blast! They also have a trash service that was unheard of! You just place your bag on the front of your site and someone in a golf cart comes and picks it up! AWESOME! The trash would disappear in minutes! The only thing I didn't like about it was that we made a reservation and requested a pull-through site since we had a truck with trailer rather than an RV and when we arrived they told us you didn't reserve a specific site, you get what is available so we had a non-pull-through site when we got there. It ended up being okay once we got into the site but I wish they would have told us that when we initially made the reservation. Overall, our stay was a great experience and we just made our reservation again for the upcoming Stagecoach 2015 festival and we're already getting excited! (We asked for a pull-through site again so I hope we get one!) read more

Have stayed here 2 years in a row for stagecoach weekend and i will never stay anywhere else. Not even INSIDE the RV park at the venue. Its literally like 5 min away from the venue, prices are super reasonable, they have 3 pools (the venue doesnt) and staff is SO nice. They dont harass you if you stay up late, just be respectful of neighboring RVs. There are some permanent residents that live in mobile homes who are also super nice and friendly. Ill deff be a returning visitor year after year. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH EXPERTS!! DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!! DISHONEST LIARS AND CHEATERS!! I booked a stay with them over the phone! They quoted me an exact price and charged me the deposit to my card over the phone! When I arrived and setup my entire camp site they then jacked the price up another $100!! They blamed it on the "computers won't let me adjust the pricing" and "I have to charge you this I don't have a choice". They are TOTALLY 100% DISHONEST!! This place is also a run down low rent park... I stayed at other RV parks in the INDIO area and they were ALL better! Half this park is permanently setup as a Mobile Home park... so expect half your neighbors to be trailer park trash! Pick a different site... one that won't lie to you and rip you off! Just stayed here for Stagecoach 2017! This was our first time staying here. This place was amazing!!!! Although I hate to let the world know for selfish reasons. The RV park has some sites with grass and others are gravel. We were on a gravel site which wasn't that bad. Sites are decent sized, but ours didn't have much shade. Their pools are in a beautifully landscaped area with a decent sized Jacuzzi. They also have 2 firepit areas which are very nice to sit around at night. They went above and beyond to make us concert goers feel welcomed. They brought in extra shower & bathroom facilities which were very nice to use. They supplied a wonderful continental breakfast. They had a food vendor on site to cook you up a yummy $4.00 breakfast burrito and some yummy $2.00 tacos when you returned late at night after the concert. They hosted a pool party for 4 days. They were very friendly and helpful every step of the way. IW, you do it right. They aren't all about the "don't do this and don't do that", however, they embrace the fun crowd and promote a fun, safe environment. Thank you again IW for a great experience. We booked for next year before we left to come home. So we're looking forward to another Stagecoach weekend with you. We also plan on bringing our families back for a family trip very soon. read more

Great location! You can ride your bike anywhere from here on bike paths or sidewalks. Lots of restaurants within a mile. It's close to Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Not a lot of privacy between sites, but not bad. We will stay here again. read more

Clean campground with friendly guests and staff. Only downside is the lamp posts they puts in between sites. Makes it harder to back in to and a hazard for parking. Still a really nice and quiet place to camp. read more

Reading some of the reviews it seemed like a different place than we visited. We stayed in an RV for a day here on our way to AZ. The place was really well kept. People working there were very nice. They take their grass seriously. Its all over and great to hang out on. Our spot was on a main road but was quiet. Lots of longer-term people staying there. All very friendly. Good with dogs. 3 different good sized dog parks. We didn't use the facilities much but many people and seemed to like it. Big park to walk the dog around. Would stay again. read more

I called to book a space for Stage Coach. It turns out that we wont be able to get tickets this year so I called to cancel reservation in plenty of time. The woman said "wow, you are going to make someone really happy" so I assume they will be able to re-book very easily. When I asked about my $344 deposit she said sorry no refunds on a holiday weekend. I was NEVER told this on the phone or I would never have booked this. She said please refer to your email from us. Which it does state no refund but the email is not received until after you book. I am very disappointed. This is a lot of money to miss out on for our family. read more

I just have to say that this place was an absolute gem to me and my friends! First off I called to see if they had room during Coachella weekend 2 and they said they had plenty of room which was a huge relief. As soon as I got there I was greeted with a warm welcome and was lead to my campsite super quickly. My campsite was amazing. Plenty of room to have a table and some chairs out in order to hang out with friends. It has FULL HOOKUPS which was great. In the mornings, you can leave your trash out in front of your campsite and someone comes by and picks it up for you. The whole neighborhood was friendly both locals and fellows Cochella-goers. ** Had their own shuttle service to and from the festival grounds Offered delicious breakfast in the morning which was the perfect food to have after a night raging! *** If I am fortunate enough to go to Coachella next year, this place would be the first on my list in case you were going to do the RV route, instead of camping or hotel. read more

Stayed here for Stage Coach 2016, and it was a great stay. The wife and I stayed in the park while the kids went to the venue. It was very loud when the concert goers returned, but that's not the park's fault, almost to be expected. That part comes down to the individuals themselves and how inconsiderate alcohol makes them. But as far as the park is concerned, the staff was great from the time I called for a Reservation to how friendly they were as we took walks. They also didn't crank up their prices because of the concert, they did have a min days that you had to stay, but that worked out anyway. It was very close to all the amenities from stores to restaurants. Thanks Indian Wells Carefree Resort. I will stay here again if I can. read more

We have stayed here twice now and the facilities are nice, but we are frustrated with how the staff has treated us. We put a deposit down for a certain spot and when we got there they gave it away and didn't even apologize or anything. Then they told us to plug into the wrong pedi stool so we had neighbors that asked us to move or used our power as well which we were paying for. The customer service is so incredibly bad. Every time we talk with them on the phone, they are so rude and cold. It's like they are trying to turn people away. I'm done with this place simply because of how the manager and staff treat us. read more

Stayed here for stagecoach 2015. One word, AWESOME. Very courteous staff and the park is extremely clean. They have three pools and the best pool party ever. Booked my stay for 2016 a week after I left. Can't wait. It's a three miles bike ride to the venue which takes about twenty minutes. Time to get our country on. read more

Nice RV park...but be aware of their cancellation policy! As a traveler with an RV, I think that is just wrong to charge me the entire bill if I don't make it there on time. I think that other RV travelers would agree that it is hard enough with a big rig to determine exactly when you can arrive...especially in this area. I could see a percentage should you have to cancel the day of your reservation, but to charge the whole amount...really?!!! Because of this we will never go there again, nor would we recommend this RV park to anyone! They make there money on ripping people off! read more

We stayed in space 54 last night. We connected cable and ran the scan and got zero channels on either tv! Our cable has worked just fine at other parks along our route. Then we went to use the showers this morning and they have no heat in them! It was far too cold to use! Since we checked out early, I called later to ask about a partial refund and was told they do not give refunds. The warmth and courtesy we saw at check in was gone! Very disappointed! We booked staying here accidentally. We were trying to stay at Indian Waters RV park, but accidently booked our week long stay at Indian Wells instead. Whoops! This place isn't nearly as nice, but whatever. It's a pretty standard RV park. I walked into the main lobby area the next morning just to see if I could find a coffee or restroom, and instantly came face to face w some grumpy old man asking me what I was doing. I asked "do you guys have any coffee?" His response was a simple "NO!" Then I saw a restroom. Asked if I could use it. He said "sure!". I came out of the bathroom and now there is a woman with this old grump. They ask me "do you live here?" Odd question I thought considering these two people work here and have never seen me in their life. Then they proceed to interrogate me a while to make sure I wasn't "someone coming in off the street" because "things come up missing" around this RV park. These are people my wife and I just payed 400 bucks for the week to stay here. I've traveled all over US and Canada in our RV. I've met many grumpy RV types, and this place is definitely one of those places. Hopefully the rest of the stay is chill. Won't be back after this stay though. read more
