Because it was the weekend of the Coachella music festival, the entire resort was full and it was extremely busy. Check in was quick and easy with friendly staff. Since it is a WorldMark location, we were offered the timeshare presentation (marketed as a "tour of the property"); we politely declined and they never bothered us again about it. The following items really annoyed me and I am not sure whether this is the norm or if it was because it was busy and the resort was full. - The resort DOES NOT provide additional towels. You can only replace dirty towels by calling housekeeping and trading your dirty towels for new ones. I have never seen a resort/hotel do this and did not like this practice. Just really annoying. - The resort does not offer housekeeping, even though we stayed for 4 nights! Our room was never cleaned as a result and we had to take the trash out ourselves. I even tried leaving the trash outside my door so that housekeeping can just grab it, but I found that it was just left there all day. Some other cons... - The AC does not work in the bedrooms. It is strong in the living rooms, but there is no air in the bedrooms for some reason. Being in the desert, it was sooo hot getting up to the high 90s outside. AC is necessary! - The food in the market/cafe is pretty mid... With WorldMark Indio being a large well-known resort in the area, I would expect the cafe food to be better. Pro though - I like that they have a market/cafe; definitely helpful to get a quick lunch in before heading to Coachella. - The security becomes very aggressive if you do not have their resort wristbands on. I accidentally left mine in the room on the first day and was almost not let back onto the property even though I could tell them my full name with ID... The best and really the only PRO I can tell you about is that there are shuttles here that take you to the festival! It is run by a private company called LF Festivals. It is very convenient and costs $145 per person. It is expensive but it was convenient and made it so that we had one less thing to think about. One thing they could work on though is the wait times. I waited over an hour sometimes to get onto a shuttle since the line was so long. Sometimes though there was no wait and I got onto a van immediately. Okay, I know I have a lot of negatives to say but it's a solid place to stay. I guess I just had high expectations because of the high price. Overall, nearly every staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful and the front desk is quick to answer the phone when you need assistance with something. The room was clean and there is a microwave, fridge, freezer, and stove. Very convenient.

Pros: they let us check in early and leave our bags after checkout (standard). Good location for…read morecoachella/stagecoach but do not buy the standard festival shuttle as it does not go anywhere close to it. Cons: Timeshare presentation push (everyday, multiple times a day). The floor of the room was not even vacuumed/dirty. You have to pay $15/day for crappy internet (and phone signal was horrible). No ice anywhere. Hotel market/cafe more of a mini-convenience store with minimal products.

Rooms were comfortable and the grounds were well kept. Super convenient for Coachella too. The shuttle bus stop was just across the street at the neighboring hotel, which made getting to and from the festival pretty easy without much hassle. I spent $1000 on top of that we have a $45 valet fee for every day and poorly maintained. The rooms were not clean upon arrival, and overall cleanliness throughout the property was lacking. To make matters worse, the air conditioner did not work and our room was at 78° and I called the front office and no one ever came up which is unacceptable at this price point. The pool area, which is supposed to be one of the highlights of the hotel, was also disappointing. The water did not appear clean, no where is the waitresses to come to our pool after we spent over 1000 for the weekend. For the price charged, I expected a much higher standard in terms of cleanliness, service, and overall upkeep. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I would not choose to stay here again.

The rooms are spacious, the pool area is relaxing, the grounds and landscaping are beautiful, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I own numerous shirts, shorts, and other Tommy Bahama garments. The staff is very unrefined and even came across totally uninterested in helping (at the front desk) and bored. Bar staff having loud personal conversations while ignoring bar patrons. All in all, it just didn't feel like a high-end resort, and there was a general lack of care and attentiveness across the board. A manager checked in with us during our dinner, at which point I communicated that we had been provided no forks for our dessert--and the response was something akin to "I ALWAYS get on them about this!" or "I have to remind them over and over..." So this was apparently a common issue. Again, front desk employees don't care--there was no explaining that there are bikes available to guests or citrus to pick and get juiced. Not welcoming. And barely acknowledged me when I dropped the keys off as I checked out. WiFi was bad in the room--but front desk didn't pick up when I called. Also poor cell service on the property. The food was good and the property looks lovely. Room was nice. Although you could see the bathroom door was swelled from water damage. And that looks tacky. It feels like there's a lack of good candidates for staffing in the desert. And perhaps poor training. I want to feel like the staff wants to be there. Pretend and help keep up the illusion. Both my girlfriend and I left feeling a bit disappointed--and seeing the cracks in the illusion.

Wow, wow, wow! This hotel was exactly what I needed. From the moment I arrived, all I wanted to do…read morewas stay, relax, and enjoy every bit of the property and that's exactly what I did. The views of the lake were absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite moments was sitting outside in the morning with a good book, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. There is also an outdoor patio area where you can eat and take in the scenery. I loved seeing the fireplaces around the property too; I can imagine how cozy they must be during the cooler months. Now let's talk about one of the biggest perks: the pool is truly open 24 hours. Not "almost" 24 hours, actually 24 hours! I definitely took advantage of that and found myself enjoying the heated pool at 1:00 a.m. It was such a relaxing experience and something you don't find at many hotels. What really made this stay stand out, though, was the customer service. Every single employee I encountered was kind, welcoming, and eager to help. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. The only potential downside is that there are no elevators. It wasn't an issue for me, but if you're traveling with a lot of luggage or have mobility concerns, it's something to keep in mind. I wasn't able to try the complimentary breakfast, which is offered from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., so I can't speak on the food. But based on the rest of my experience, I would absolutely stay here again. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with beautiful views, a heated pool you can enjoy anytime, and outstanding customer service, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Title: Beautiful hotel - but a confirmed booking was suddenly withdrawn…read more I truly wanted to love this hotel. In fact, I still wish our stay there had worked out. For context: every two years, I donate my time to mentor a small group of aspiring photographers who fly in to work with me for about a week. It's a non-profit initiative that continues the legacy of my own mentor when I was a teenager. For the upcoming workshop, we planned to start with two days around the Salton Sea, and this hotel looked like a wonderful fit. After some research, we contacted the hotel and asked if they could match an offer we had received for this hotel from the German travel portal HRS for five double rooms (two beds per room) for $1,848 all-inclusive for two nights, including breakfast. It was slightly above our budget, but we were willing to make it work. The sales manager replied: "I think I can work with you on the rate. I just want to make sure a single king-size bed in each room is ok and if 6 rooms will be enough for your group." We confirmed that arrangement, adjusted our group so most participants would share beds for the two nights, and accepted the sixth room offered to accommodate everyone. We then: - confirmed the booking - received and returned the credit card authorization form - drove to the hotel to inspect the property in person - cancelled the alternatives we had on hold Two days later, we received another message from the hotel explaining that the rate had been misunderstood internally -- it had been read as $1,848 per night rather than for the two-night stay. Unfortunately, despite a long email exchange, the hotel ultimately declined to honor the arrangement and suggested we look elsewhere. The result: we had to restart the search on short notice, and I will now make another 500-mile round trip to inspect the replacement hotel. That was disappointing, especially because the property itself looked lovely and we were genuinely excited about staying there. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how they are handled. In this case, the solution was to ask the customer to absorb the consequences. If you plan to stay here, I would recommend confirming rates and all conditions very carefully, particularly since they upcharge a resort rate - and when scouting it, it felt like a very nice small boutique hotel to me, far away from a resort (which was fine to me, as we were looking for a place to sleep and leave after breakfast ;-)

This property is absolutely stunning and what truly sets it apart is that you get the entire place to yourselves for the weekend. At first, the investment might feel like a lot...but when you really think about it, most venues charge a significant amount for just 4-5 hours. At Old Polo, you have the option to turn your wedding into an entire weekend experience and that made all the difference for us. We booked three nights at Old Polo and we don't regret it for a second. We had our entire bridal party and family stay on the property, and it honestly felt like a wedding vacation (even though we live locally - it was the best "staycation" we've ever had). Instead of one quick blur of a day, we had a full weekend of memories, laughter, pool time, late-night chats, and quality time with the people we love most. It was the best time of our lives. The house itself is immaculate. It is beautifully maintained, incredibly comfortable, and perfect for a large party. Every detail feels thoughtful and elevated. Julie is amazing to work with. She is professional, organized, responsive, and genuinely cares about making sure you are happy. The entire team is on top of everything, which gives you so much peace of mind throughout the process. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a single thing. Old Polo Estate gave us not just a wedding day, but a wedding weekend we will cherish forever!
