Our experience with Indie was unpleasant from the moment we arrived at the lot. We REGRET rentring from Indie and would NOT RECOMMEND their rentals to anyone else. I would strongly advise anyone to stay away from this company. There was no one ready for us at pickup and when someone did address us, they told us our van was right outside and "don't worry about that scrape, you can take a picture of it" - the scrape being a huge dent along the entire rear end of the passenger side of the vehicle. The staff even joked about knowing the previous user was going to crash. This was a big safety concern from the get go as it doesn't appear they took the vehicle in for proper inspection after a collision. The staff helping us were unprofessional, appeared hungover (one staff said "i feel like I cant breathe" as he was attempting to fill our water) and smelled of weed. As they were giving us the tour, they couldn't get one of the pop top safety clips clipped and just brushed it off and said "don't worry about that, thats just an extra clip." they were also attempting to fill the water tank and there was water spraying everywhere which was also brushed off, "that just happens sometimes that the water leaks out". as it turns out, they were overfilling the tank because they were unaware of where the fill line actually was on the water tank. We are wondering if this, or the giant scrape on the side of the vehicle had something to do with the largest issue on our trip, which was the water not functioning correctly. the first night we arrived at our campground we turned on the water pump and the control panel just blinked and appeared to be glitching, then when we tried to turn on the water it just trickled out until no water came out anymore. We did not have service at this point so there was nothing we could do and no one to contact right away. This was very frustrating as we just finished a long day of travel and were hoping to rinse off and have a restroom to use and water to use for cooking dinner that night. The next day we were able to get a hold of customer service who told us we just had to find a hardware store and get a new fuse, as it appeared there was a blown fuse for the water pump and control panel. We took time out of our trip to divert course and find a hardware store, but immediately after putting in the new fuse and turning on the battery again it shorted. We were then told to go to a repair shop to get the water pump replaced. This took HOURS out of our day and took away our one day that we had time to explore Bryce Canyon. It was a HUGE inconvenience on our trip, we were at least hopeful that from this point on we would have running water, but alas, the next day it shorted again and the brand new water pump busted. Customer service acted as if it was no big deal and we could just get it replaced again, but we had no time and had to just go without running water, which meant buying more water to use for cooking, cleaning, brushing teeth, washing hands, and that we had no restroom and we ended up having to pay for shower use elsewhere as we could not use the advertised shower in the indie camper. Throughout the trip we found numerous other safety/function issues including: - the upper pop tent screens being filled with holes -the downstairs bedroom screen would not zip properly so there were privacy concerns there - the oil was supposed to be changed almost a month (over 1,000 miles) before we picked it up, major safety concern if something were to happen when we were in the middle of the desert with no water and no service to reach anyone - the pop top leaked after rain/snow and water dumped inside the vehicle (which was also brushed off by customer service "we can help you find a nearby repair shop, its an easy fix" and saying we can just cover it with a piece of plastic.) - one of the main latches for the pop top was loose and you could just push it off of the latch which made us anxious the whole time driving that the pop top could fly open (the latch was loose AND the extra safety clip would not clip) - due to the water pump breaking and shorting the fuse, the control panel was not functioning the whole trip so we could not check propane/gray water/battery levels - there was no generator even though the product we rented advertised a generator - we got the unlimited miles package and were immediately given a limit before they would start charging for mileage (defeating the purpose of going with unlimited!) We have been in contact with the complaints team trying to get a refund but they are not being reasonable with how much of an inconvenience the water was along with all of the other issues that just put an overall negative tint on our trip. They advertised an upscale van with functions that we expected to work, and instead caused us anxiety and frustration throughout our entire trip. We will continue pushing for a refund as what we got was not what was advertised or what we signed up for. read more

Mallory was so helpful when we checked in. She gave us the whole run through of the van and was very patient with all our questions. The van was nice, but you could tell it had gone to its fair share of festivals. It had everything we needed. There were no hidden fees or costs and the pick up and drop off process were seamless. I like that they included some kitchen and bathroom accessories for our use as well and have a cabinet of freebies that other guests have left behind. Would be a zero star if I could. This location is severely under staffed, expect to get your van/RV 2-4 hours post your check in time. No on is ever in the building and this place has the worst customer service imaginable. Multiple things went wrong with our van during the trip. They seems to have no internal quality assurance to make sure the vans are working functionally before giving them out to another renter. On the last 4 nights of our trip our power stopped working to the Cabin so we lost all power to the light refridge etc. All our food went bad and was told it was my responsibility to replace the fuses when I was in the middle of a national park. Overall if I could recommend one piece of advice it would be pay more and go to another company unless you want unneeded stress and frustration in your life. Our experience with Indie was great! We rented for EDC and it went very smooth. All the features worked and it was very cozy. Edward Kim was the one that was helping us check-in and he was super nice and helpful. He answered any questions we had and made it as speedy as possible! We rented from Indie campers for our road trip in the US and the experience with indie campers turned out to be an utter disappointment. To start, their customer service is practically non-existent. We experienced various hiccups along the way including our electrical system in the van failing and smoking, resulting in a loss of power from the auxiliary batter system (i.e, refrigerator stopped working, no water, no inside lights). When we contacted customer service they provided no help and wanted us to solve the issue for them, while on our trip. Luckily we were able to make it back safely, however, it proved to be a major inconvenience, plus the added factor that all our food went bad from the fridge. To those reading: STAY FAR AWAY from this fraudulent start-up! I paid 3000+ euros for an RV and returned it less than 24 hours after pick-up because of a laundry list of problems. Besides a filthy vehicle, the biggest issue was a full black-water (sewage) tank upon pick-up and all the running water smelled like rotten eggs, which was indicative of a BACTERIAL infection in our water tank( we discovered this a bit too late upon showering). After numerous hours filing a complaint and explaining issues to their "customer excellence" WhatsApp line, no one from indie campers took responsibility for these issues and we are still waiting for a total refund. As a result of this chaos, we lost time and ALL our national parks reservations. Indie campers cost us our dream holiday and it was the biggest mistake we ever made. DONT EVER RENT AN RV FROM HERE! We waited over 7 hours for our RV and ended up leaving with no RV! We camp every year for EDC and spent over 5k. All of that went to waste! After 4 hours they gave us the wrong RV, waited 2 more hours for them to give us an empty RV with a generator that doesn't work. They left us alone for another hour, we took the RV to the gas station to fill up to make sure the generator worked, it didn't! All the workers were new except two of them. They were cleaning the RVs and trying to fix all of them while handing them out to everyone. They told me to make a claim for a refund and after two weeks of going back and forth I got denied because the ladies handing out the RVs were making us all sign the forms saying the RVs work before even seeing the RVs. This place is a fucking scam and all the workers couldn't care less about their job. The manager said they were going to resubmit a claim but I still haven't received an email or heard back so she probably lied about that too! Do yourself a favor and spend the money on El Monte or literally any other place. read more

Roadside assistance is via outsourced bot. Camper had numerous issues that would not be apparent upon walkthrough. Generally the rig is not well cared for. Stay FAR away!!! Indie Campers has the worst customer service and most dishonest employees I've ever had to deal with. The Jeep appeared to be clean at time of pickup but once we hit the road, we discovered how filthy it really was with trash in nearly every compartment. We cleaned it ourselves no big deal but then we arrive at our first camp spot and put up the tent and find dirty unwashed bedding and more trash! (I did not pay for bedding) At this point we are hours away and the customer service number they give you is just AI that does not help with anything besides wasting time so we once again just delt with it. The cook stove did not work that was provided and was extremely frustrating. The biggest issue with the Jeep was anytime you went over 40mph the rooftop tent would make an ear-piercing screeching noise that was that was quite literally unbearable (I have videos and pictures for everything thus far). Once again, the number provided is zero help. Now it's time for drop off and we stop at a carwash and make the Jeep look better than it did when we got it. We get there and stand inside while the lady working talks to her friends on the phone for 5 minutes then briefly says she's going to take pictures. She then sits in the driver seat and continues talking with friends on the phone for TEN minutes while we stand outside the vehicle. once she finally hangs up and takes pictures I ask if there's any damages, she says no it looks great, and we are good to go. Now a week later at the time of writing this I receive an email stating "card on file successfully charged $210 for damages". The email includes zero details as to what happened besides being charged. So, to sum it up just listen to the reviews. this place will do everything in their power to avoid any communication with costumers and give you AI instead. Four of us rented a jeep wrangler for 10 days. Almost all was at or above our expectations. The rental allowed us to go deep into the desert wilderness. What an experience, hiking slot canyons and hiking/camping the high desert. Wether a Backcountry tour or visiting the touristy National Parks this is unforgiving country. If you think a poor review will make every little annoyance go away you've come to the wrong part of the country. I recommend bringing your own camp stove. Our mini MSR was used most of our trip as the stove provided was not very strong. Gas cannisters are expensive here and the high altitude uses the gas faster. Indie Campers have Horrible customer service, dirty & broken vans. At check in they gave us a EXTREMELY dusty van, 1/4 inch of dust on the inside, they had sent 300 vans to Burning Man, and ours was one of them. They had not cleaned it to an acceptable standard, and wanted us to take it as is, saying it was not their problem. But after 3hrs of asking they finally did give it brief clean, but it was still dusty. This meant we could not use the AC or the roof tent. The wipers were held together with duck tape that the guy put on in front of us, like that was normal. He said don't worry it won't rain and suggested we go to a garage and purchase new ones at our own cost and ask indie to reimburse us - to date they have not done that even though we supplied our receipt. Indie customer support refused our complaints saying you took the van live with it. But they had told us when we reported in after pickup they would help us at the end of our rental - total lie!! read more

We had 20+ problems with Indie RV. side mirrors flappy and unusable resulted in an accident. Chargers don't work, covered with tape. No door on closet, stuff fell out. Fridhe and fan didn't work. Thermostat didn't work. We had a flat tire-unable to get hold of Indie. No owners manual. License had expired. I could go on. Our trip was ruined. we returned the RV early. Renter BEWARE! This company is a foreign-based company with no local support whatsoever! We Recently rented from Indie Campers Las Vegas and were extremely disappointed. Our rental was a newer Winnebago Solis 59p camper van which at first glance appeared great however after getting our trip underway thats when things changed for the worse. First, the table post for our removable table was missing so we had no place to enjoy our meals. Second, the rear exhaust fan did not work! Third, the bathroom toilet did not flush and the lights did not work. Fourth the lights for the pop-up tent on the roof also did not work. After multiple WhatsApp texts and multiple hours of conversations with someone overseas, there was no solution other than for us to take it to a local RV dealership and have them diagnose it which we were responsible for paying. Utterly ridiculous. Lesson learned. Bottom line, if you do decide to rent from them you better do your due diligence and make sure that everything works before leaving the pickup location or you will be on your own. I feel bad for the people who work for Indie Campers here in the USA because the actual company could care less for their customers. Great staff at check in. Rented Solis camper van. Drove south of Sedona first day to camp. Next morning discovered water leak. Indie told us to goto Galpin RV in Cottonwood for repair. We paid for repair and were told we'd be reimbursed. Two days after return,still hasn't happened. We drove four hours back to getanother rental. Chris, district Mgr, very helpful. We're told by indie on line we'd get credit for day , hasn't happened. Should get credit for excess miles due to extra return trip, hasn't happened. Two additional charges on credit card for as yet unknown reason. One for ~$100 (oddly same as what we're owed for RV leak repair fee we paid), another charge for ~$188 for we know not what yet and then another charge that was denied by our bank for over $2100 which is extremely disconcerting! Emailed Chris,district manager, to try to wrap this up. Did the website request and still waiting for resolution. Leak? OK, it happens. But the customer service? Needs a lot of work. Not the staff in Vegas, the billing and on line process: needs work! They'll never have another employee like me...Former employee here. I'm just going to keep it simple. GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY! We have Indie trolls on here trying to defend a company that doesn't care anything about employees or the customers who spend their hard earned money. I decided to leave because of upper management. They're literally telling workers to send out broken vehicles. Generator, broke. Coach AC, broke. Coach battery, dead. Sure power cable, broke. Bed, pissy. EVERYTHING IS LOOSE AND BROKE! I've seen customers, grown men, crying in front of their wife and kids because indie ruined their trip. Then they make it even harder to give a refund. Not to mention, if the RV has water in it, it hasn't been sanitized or changed in months and in some cases over a year. I learned a lot through this company. I learned that all money isn't good money. I learned that upper management just wants their $100K a year, who cares if we ruin their trip of a lifetime. Desk Jockeys. Me and others literally tried to fix issues that the company was ignoring to do. "Just put on a happy face and send them away" should be their motto. Listen, be warned. Bottom line: DO NOT RENT A CAMPER HERE!!! This company is not based out of the US, have no local phone number, the branch manager at local office cannot access your reservation, the people located at the 1-800 number listed cannot help/change reservations, they tell you to email/chat with them even for emergencies. If you want a reputable camper rental, please checkout Road Bear RV in Las Vegas (a few minutes down the road) because they literally saved our trip. Read below for full story of our nightmare trip with Indie Campers. My friend and I take a road trip/camping trip each year. This year we decided to do the 5 National Parks in Utah, so we flew from Miami into Las Vegas (just a short drive away from the Utah border). We rented a Solis van with Indie Campers on April 14, 2023 for a trip May 25-30, 2023. We booked a camp site at a different location in Utah each night (5 nights) and had a solid itinerary planned with permits and reservations for certain hikes/parks/ etc. Branch manager Christopher Robinson emailed on May 22 to tell us when we could pick up our camper. I told him we were flying in from Miami and would get in around 5:45PM. He said no problem, he had someone scheduled until 7:30PM. Our flight was a little delayed, so when we landed my friend stayed at the airport to grab our bags and I grabbed the nearest taxi to make it to Indie before our pickup time. I tried finding a local number to let him know I was on my way, and all I could find was the 1-800 number. I called, which is when I was informed by "Ali" that the reservation was delayed due to "technical issues" and I would not be able to pick up until the next day. I asked him to call the branch manager since he had told me he had someone scheduled late for me to pickup; Ali said he couldn't contact the local branch. I checked my email during the taxi ride, and I had an email from "Muneeb" at 4:16PM saying due to "fleet issues" they couldn't give us a van and to come back the next day at 2:30PM. At this time, I was pulling up to the Indie Camper Depot. I arrived at 7:20PM to find there was no one at the site, but about 40 vans (not sure why they cited a "fleet issue"...I took photos of all the vans before I left in the same taxi I had come in). "Ali" told me not to worry, they would pay for a hotel up to "113 euros" (no idea why they couldn't tell me in $USD..) and they would refund me the costs of the nonrefundable campsites I had booked. I explained that we had a very tight schedule with planned hikes/permits/etc, and he didn't seem to understand nor care that my friend and I traveled all the way from Miami for our very well planned out trip. My taxi cost $118 to get to Indie Campers and back to the airport to grab my friend. We frantically booked a hotel on Priceline (we had been told we would be reimbursed), took an Uber to the hotel, tweaked our itinerary so we could hopefully make up for lost time, then took an Uber back to Indie on May 26 to get our camper the next day. Here, we saw 5 men with suitcases sitting outside an obviously closed Indie Camper Depot. They explained they had just flown in from Japan to get a camper but the site was closed. A random maintenance guy came up to us and told us that we would have to return tomorrow, the branch manager had just left and he wouldn't be giving us any campers today. This means 2 out of our 5 days of our trip had just been completely ruined. A tow truck driver (towing an Indie camper..) flagged me down and said "hey, if you're trying to talk to the branch manager, he just walked over there... he's leaving now". I sprinted to him, and he agreed to give me and the guys from Japan our campers. However, when he logged into his iPad, he informs us he cannot give us our campers as all of our reservations had been moved to the next day. I asked him to please move them back as we were supposed to get it yesterday. He literally stood up and started screaming at me (I have video), yelling that his employee quit on him last night and he just got out of the hospital and was in extreme pain. He pointed to his hand where he said he had 10 stitches. I saw nothing on his hand... I asked if he could please call Indie Campers to please put our reservation back, and he continued to yell at me, "I don't have time for that, I'm not even supposed to be here, I'm not doing that for you." I explained our trip was supposed to start on May 25, now it was May 26, and he was telling us to come back on May 27 when we were only there until May 30. He literally said "I don't care." Thankfully my friend had been frantically searching Google and we found Road Bear RV nearby and they rented us their last camper. I emailed Indie to cancel my trip, they replied they'd refund me (have yet to see the refund). I emailed as "Ali" said they'd reimburse for our unplanned expenses incurred due to their error ($118 taxi, $181 hotel, $21/$23 ubers, $55 campsite = TOTAL of $400), I got an auto response only. read more
