I rented a camper van through Travelers Autobarn for my 67 year old mother. I live in my RV full time and had been traveling through California the last few months. My mother who is originally from CA wanted to take a road trip from LA to SFO and meet me to camp along the way. I rented her a camper van from Travelers Autobarn because of a few reasons, it looked like they had reliable vehicles, they appeared to be professionally managed, we could pick up and drop off at different locations, and because they offered unlimited mileage. I'm giving them 5 stars because even though my mother isn't unfamiliar with camping, there is a bit of a learning curve with a camper van. And when I met up with her, all she could say is how happy she was that every time she had a question, she would message Travelers Autobarn and they'd responde immediately. And she had a lot of questions. My mom is also deaf. So they were even so accommodating to not give her a call but to walk her through things via email. She told me she had some of the dumbest questions and when she would message them, they were so happy and nice and didn't make her feel like an idiot for asking things like "how do I fold out this bed". Instead they just nicely talked her through it. I was kind of worried setting this up for her and letting her go out to the middle of nowhere on her own and not having me around to help. And with her hearing disabilities on top of it, I just didn't want her to be without help if she needed it. And Travelers Auto Barn took all my worries away. I was also logged in on my app with the same login I set my mom up with. And I could see that they were so quick and helpful. And for that reason, I am forever grateful. Also, I went with her to drop off the car in SFO. And everyone at the return location was so nice. The van was so clean and comfortable and everything we expected. I travelled around Utah with a friend in their Kuga Campervan at the end of December and had an amazing time! There is ample space for two people to sleep, stand, and cook. I enjoyed having the two burner stove top, refrigerator and lots of storage and pantry space. The solar panels allowed us to charge our phones and other electronics via the USB ports they had (12V ports require plugging into a campsite). The unlimited miles is also a huge plus. If you're traveling around in the winter time, I would recommend either adding on their mountain winter pack add-on which includes a heated blanket and portable power station (we did not opt for this) or be fully prepared for the cold weather. My friend and I brought 0 degree rated sleeping bags and used the sleeping bags (included in the living equipment add-on) that were provided for extra warmth. Travellers Autobarn is a great budget campervan option. Their daily rate for their Kuga van is cheaper than a LOT of normal car rental options out of Las Vegas around the Christmas period. I highly recommend renting one of their vans if you're interested in trying out the vanlife. This was my first time traveling around for an extended period of time in a built-out van, and I would definitely do it again. It's the best way to travel around the Southwest and visit the national parks! read more

We've decided to go for the kuga hitop van to have the highest flexibility we can get for our planned roadtrip. Our initiary was to travel two weeks through the national parks of Arizona and Utah. So we picked up the van at the autobarn station in Las Vegas. It was super easy and well organized (you have a online tutorial as well sent to you days before). It took us less than 30 minutes to pack our stuff in the van and get an introduction of the super friendly staff. There is a lot of space! We had two 23kg bags and all of our camera equipment and really no problems to keep it stored. We did a lot of wild camping (where it was allowed) and it worked out well! The solar panel gives enough energy to fuel our smartphones, laptop and cameras. And there is also enough space to store food in the fridge. We made it to stay 4 days without any hook up and grocery's during our trip. Overall the roadtrip was an amazing experience. Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Canyonlands, Arches and Valley of fire, just to name a view of the great places we've visited. If you plan to travel around or do a roadtrip we can highly recommend doing it with travellers autobarn! read more

My experience with travellers autobarn was amazing. My girlfriend and I took a trip to some of the Southern California and Nevada National and state parks. We spent 6 days in the van and loved every second. We didn't have any issues with space for the two of us and our luggage. The Kuga campervan traversed some epic roads in Death Valley and Joshua tree national parks, and even got us to Mount Whitney on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevadas. We did a bunch of driving and had long road trips with minimal gas stations between stops. The gas mileage and size of the tank made it easy for us to not worry about getting even close to empty. The sink, propane stove top, microwave, beds, and storage were all perfect for our trip. We were able to cook daily in the van and make all of the meals we wanted to make on the trip. The best part of the trip was just being able to hang out in the coolest locations because we had a comfortable van to relax in and take in the scenery. I highly recommend the Kuga campervan to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable van trip. read more

We rented a KUGA Campervan for our fall trip in southwest USA. The pick-up and drop-off was very relaxed and the van was old but functional. The only thing about an old car that wasn't great, was the fuel consumption. Modern/new cars consume less which is better for the environment and your purse. Otherwise we didn't mind the age, because you don't have to worry with little scratches... We had an issue with the water pump and the hotline was very helpful and sent a mechanic to fix it to our campground. So we didn't loose hardly any time. Some very positive aspects: The solar panel, that loaded the battery for the fridge and the light. We switched off the fridge in the night because of the noise (we do that in motel rooms as well). Like this we never had to book a campground with hook-up. The stowing room is really big for 2 people. Cooking, washing dishes, eating and brushing your teeth inside the van in standing-up position was very convenient, especially in bad and cold weather. read more

We rented a Kuga Campervan in Las Vegas for 6 days. We drove it to the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Death Valley. It was so nice having everything right there and not having the hassle of a hotel or tent to camp. It's not super fancy, but you're using it for camping, so it's fairly nice, especially for the price. My husband did all of the driving for us, the only complaint he had was that the seat didn't recline enough. We will definitely use travellers autobarn again. The only other thing I would recommend to someone looking to rent, the stuff you can rent from the company works just fine, but it is the bare minimum so you may need to buy a few things if you want anything extra. There isn't a bathroom but we made do. We did a lot of our camping on BLM land, just be careful if you're driving at night, the van doesn't do well in sand or lose dirt. Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend to anyone that they take a trip to see all the wonders there are to see! read more

This was an amazing experience! We picked up our van in Las Vegas and drove from there to LA. Making stops from Zion, Death Valley, Joshua Tree and more. We didn't have any problems with the van even through different environments and elevation changes. The solar panel was enough to charge our phones every night with some left over in the morning and being able to cook with propane was a big plus. It's not luxurious but that's not what you should expect with this company. They are centered on budget and adventure. Make your own memories with this van that you will look back on forever! Weird name, but an excellent company to rent a campervan from. Cory and Kyle were friendly and helpful. No hidden surprises: the price is the price. Their kuga campervans are in good shape and suitable for 2 people. For the cooler months, I'd recommend bringing a small electric heater (that you can use at plug in sites) to stay warmer at night. We aren't "campervan people" and there are pluses and minuses to travelling this way. In general, I'd recommend a slower pace than if you're travelling by car and staying in hotels. First, the gas will be more expensive than a car, and "getting going" in the morning takes longer as you'll probably want to make your own breakfast (the propane stove works great) and it takes some time to reconfigure from sleeping to day use. Campervans are best for places where other accommodations are expensive or scarce. We took ours to Death Valley, and that was perfect for a campervan trip. read more

We rented a minivan (rather than a campervan) for just under five weeks. We had an amazing trip that took us all the way north from Las Vegas to Crater Lake, west to the Redwoods, to Joshua Tree, and the Grand Canyon (to name but a few). We rented the car with a cooking set, chairs, tent, and sleeping stuff. I'd say the best last minute inclusion we made was the Jackery power bank with a fan (it saved us on some very hot nights camping!). We had a few issues with the van (the wiper blade came off, one of the interal seats wouldn't go down again after we put it up, and it was a bit juddery just after filling up the tank) but it got us over 4000 miles over 4.5 weeks and we are being reimbursed for the new wiper blade. You can see that the camping stuff is all entry level Walmart stuff, but that's what we expected with the price point. And it all worked just fine, keeping us well fed and comfortable for the entire trip. read more

The over all experience with the Van was very comfortable and very reliable. Customer service was top notch to be honest. The only issue I had was the plug outlet did not work and I could not use it but I was prepared and brought a battery pack. Also the van would not charge when it was plugged in but I still had power for the refrigerators so not that big of a deal. The oven worked great and the sink did as well and the bed was comfortable. I didn't have time on my trip to resolve the issue that I had because I only had a week and didn't want to compromise my vacation for an outlet and a battery that wouldn't charge when plugged in but would charge with the solor panel. I drove around 3000 miles with no vehicle issues. I'm sure if I called to have it resolved they'd be on it asap The experience still was great but what's a trip without issues nothing is perfect? This was such a fun trip! We LOVED our campervan. It's definitely an old van, and as basic as it gets - nothing fancy and well used, we were glad it held together for our whole trip lol. It started to feel like home after 10 days in it! We didn't want to give it back. The solar power is great, it kept our fridge cold and even items in the freezer. Having running water was amazing! And being able to cook with the gas range made it perfect. Lots of storage! We were able to find showers at stops along our way which was great! So we were completely independent and had everything we needed. We cleaned inside as we used it and cleaned it before we returned it. If everyone takes care of their vans hopefully the prices will stay affordable! No complaints. We can't wait to plan our next trip. Will definitely rent again and highly recommend. read more

When searching for RV's I wasn't really looking to go anywhere, just seeing what was available for rent. Travellers Autobarn camper vans showed up in my search and I was intrigued by the price. I was able to rent a van for six nights for about $350 with unlimited miles! After talking with my husband we made the quick decision to pick up a van in Las Vegas and head to some lesser known state parks in Southern Utah. We stayed at some of the nicest campgrounds I have ever been to. The van was comfortable and had everything we needed for a fun trip. The vans aren't Mercedes Benz tricked out Sprinter vans but we knew what we were getting. We would 100% rent again from Travellers Autobarn, maybe pickup in L.A. and go up the coast this time. An absolutely epic trip with Travellers Autobarn! Not only was the van great, but I was so impressed with the level of customer service from start to finish. Booking online was easy, follow up questions before pickup date were easily answered with phone calls, and we got a thorough explanation and tour of the van when we checked in. The Travellers team even took pictures of us with the van added some camp chairs to our van for free! The van itself was such a good value. It's hard to find camper vans at this price point that you can stand up in and offer a kitchen setup, convertible bed, and all of the other features that the Kuga does. What an amazing 2 weeks on the road it was with Travellers Autobarn. We picked up the Kuga Camervan in Las Vagas and started our road trip with an easy simple process (watch the videos that are sent before picking up the van). The van was clean and spacious. Even travelling during the middle of winter we were warm enough sleeping in the van without a heater. The option for having the bed on the top of down the bottom by folding down the table was a great feature. The kitchen was great and cooking meals was easy and simple (just need to remember to turn off the gas outside before driving the van again). The drivers area was large and the seats are comfortable for those long days of driving. I cannot fault Travellers Autobarn and its a 10/10 from me :) read more

We just spent three weeks traveling around the US southwest in a Travellers Autobarn camper van. Four states, five national parks, two state parks, a variety of private campgrounds, a handful of hotels, and 3300 miles later we are still talking about how much we loved our experience. The camper van had almost everything we needed: a two-burner propane stove, small refrigerator, sink for dishwashing, a microwave oven, and solar panels so that we had lights and the refrigerator stayed cold even when we stayed at sites with no electricity. Even when the temperature dropped below freezing, we stayed warm and cozy in the warm sleeping bags. This was our first upgrade from tent camping and we weren't disappointed!
