I've almost never reviewed any business on Yelp. They have to be REALLY bad, or REALLY REALLY GOOD,…read morefor me to feel inspired to do so. All Storage Seven Hills is the latter. In every possible way a business can excel, they do, from customer service to general security to vehicle rental. Superb in evey way. As another reviewer said - "A diamond in the Seven Hills."

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. After a previous interaction…read moreinvolving my fiancé, I reserved a storage unit online under my own name, paid the required reservation fee, and received a phone call from the facility confirming my reservation and telling me to come in. During that call, I explained that I wanted the unit to store boxes. My purposes for reserving the unit had absolutely nothing to do with my fiancé. When I arrived, the on-site manager, Ronda, immediately informed me that I would not be allowed to rent because of my association with my fiancé. There was no discussion of my application, no opportunity to explain anything further, and no indication before I made the trip that my reservation would not be honored. What makes this especially frustrating is that someone from the facility had already spoken with me by phone before my arrival. If the decision had already been made that I would not be permitted to rent a unit, a simple phone call could have saved me the unnecessary trip, wasted time, and fuel. Instead, I was instructed to come to the facility only to be told upon arrival that I was not allowed on the property. After I escalated the matter to corporate, I was told my reservation fee would be refunded. The most frustrating part wasn't even the refund--it was the way we were treated. Forwarding a confusing internal email stating the fee had been paid by cash or check instead of answering a customer's questions directly, refusing to acknowledge obvious errors, and making us escalate to corporate for a resolution came across as childish, evasive, and deeply unprofessional. Businesses certainly have the right to decide who they rent to. What customers deserve in return is honest communication, respect for their time, and follow-through when a refund has been promised. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with the Seven Hills location, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend it.

It was great to find extra storage space about a mile from the house. I got to say this, of all the storage places I have utilized in the past, this one had the most friendly and welcoming staff that I had met. They made the process super easy and super quick. At one point, I needed to upgrade my storage to a larger unit, but that was handled super easy and quick. The only negative thing I have to say, and this is not aimed directly at extra space storage. Storage rates across Las Vegas have gone up exponentially. Make sure to ask about discounts and possible other lower cost options when moving in. Plus, the nice thing about extra space storage is that if at all possible, they can lower your rates. Overall, renting from extra space storage was a great option for us moving into the Las Vegas area. I highly recommend them if you are ever in need to put some stuff in storage. Bottom line? If you are looking for a clean, safe, well-kept storage facility, you could do no better than going with extra space storage.

I wanted to alter it because I know property managers are not at fault for all of this. Whoever is the owner needs to step up. We were offered an "air cooled" unit. Upon entry it was equivalent if not hotter than outside (106). There is no world in which there was anything being cooled. The property manager was nice enough to submit a refund request and we went down the road to a competitor that was cheaper and actually air cooled. These units should not be advertised the way they are.

Buyer (renter) beware! I recommend that you do not rent from Smart (dumb) Stop Storage. :) (The…read morename should tell you everything you need to know. Exact opposite of what it indicates) Go elsewhere! There are many better options. Extra Space Storage is one but there are others too. Be an informed consumer. Do your "homework". They rented me a "10x20" but the actual measurement was "10x19". This company is cutthroat! They will cut you no grace beyond what the law requires! The operate like they are renting apartments, but they obviously are not! The Manager, Desa, is friendly and cordial, but once you've rented the unit, Smart (dumb) Stop Storage will not cut you grace beyond what the law requires (3 day grace period. The same as an apartment complex). Desa informed me when I was in the process of signing the lease they wanted a 10 day notice when I wanted to vacate the unit. The understanding was they would "pro-rate" the last month based up the vacate date. I called her approximately two weeks in advance, Oct. 20th, and provided her notice that I intended to vacate on November 4th and was informed that they don't "pro-rate". Therefore, since the date I intended to vacate was about 10 days beyond the 3 day grace period, Oct. 28th, they required another entire month of rent! Rip off! They would not "pro-rate" it and they don't provide a refund for time not used! Pathetic! Absurd! As I was informed by Desa, "Its in the contract." Extra Space Storage does not do this. Extra Space Storage will "pro-rate" if you provide then notice ahead of time as I did Desa. "Its in the contract." Investigate for yourself if you don't believe me. One can deduce that Smart (Dumb) Stop Storage's strategy (scheme) is to rip their customers off wherever possible! (reach into the customers pocket and take as much as possible). If one was to surrender their unit before their rent is due again, Nov 4th, they could re-rent it and double dip, so to speak. For instance my due date was on the 26th of each month and if I vacated and surrender it to them on Nov. 4th they could rent it on the 5th to someone else and collect rent from the new tentant while keep your(my) money that you(I) paid through to the 25th (a full month). AKA double dip and rip people off. .. thats they way they do business. The District Manager, Nadine, was no better. I got the figurative poke in the eye from her. I informed her I could not vacate the unit until the 1st of the month (my rent was due on the 26th). She said she would give three additional days and I could vacate on the 31st. Yeah she sounded like she was making a special concession and providing more "grace" than they are required too. However, she said that after I informed her I could not vacate until the first! AKA the figurative poke in the eye, because she was informed I could not do that! I've rented storage unit on and off for 30 years and NEVER experienced this at any of them. Terrible customer service despite whatever their contract says! Go to a storage company that doesn't engage in such behavior.

I recently had the pleasure of interacting with Deesa at Smart Shop Storage, and I can't praise her…read moreenough for her outstanding customer service. From our very first phone call, Deesa's friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge made me comfortable and confident with trusting that location When I arrived at the store, Deesa greeted me with the same warmth and professionalism. She was incredibly informative and ensured I had all the details I needed. But what truly made this a great customer experience was the fact that the day after I rented my storage unit, Deesa called to inform me that during a routine check, she noticed I had improperly locked my unit. Thanks to her calling me and letting me know this, I was able to come in and properly secure my unit. Deesa's exceptional service and genuine concern for customers needs make her a standup employee. Thank you for your help and I highly recommend Smart Shop Storage off Silverado which is 5 minutes from southpoint Casino. Thank you girlie

I have had the unfortunate experience of having to move out of my home before my new house was…read moreready. So my only option was to put all of my expensive new furniture into storage. This was not just a simple task for me because I live in a 3000 square-foot five bedroom home. So it took about 4-5 storages to fit everything. I am extremely particular about my furniture because I had just purchased a lot of it brand new and it was nowhere near cheap. The staff here was really great and accommodating when they're actually in the office. The storages here are so clean and there's air-conditioning so you don't have to worry about the Vegas heat destroying your property. It is monitored 24/7 by security and cameras everywhere. I feel very secure having my belongings in this establishment and I'm so thankful for them. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because I was promised to get 48 hours of 24 hour access and that never happened. I don't like when I'm promised something and it's not delivered. Another thing is that I wish it was a little bit more warm because if you come during a busy time, there's a long line. But for the safety, it's worth it. Other than that, I have nothing but rave reviews about this place. If you want a trusted storage, definitely go with this particular location.

With that being said, nobody gets a 5 star. This specific location at Maryland & Pebble is getting in my nerves. Nobody there emphasized with me in the beginning that we have to punch in our code. Then almost a year later...we get a phone call about how they will fine us for not punching out with our code...with a very undermining and condescending tone. Ok, so from then on, I complied with the rules. I understand it's my responsibility to read the fine print. The thing is, I observe everyone that goes in and out of the unit and almost nobody at all enters their code as they're leaving. But management does nothing about the guy right across from me who runs a clothing business directly out of their unit which reeks of marijuana. The same guy also shares his code while letting strangers/customers in and out of the buiding as they're leaving. I know management sees this on their surveillance but does nothing about. "3.5.5 No Conducting Business, Habitation or Loitering. You will not use Your Space to conduct business or as living space for humans, animals or any living thing." There is nothing in the rental agreement specifically that mentions entering your code upon leaving the storage unit. So before you guys want to threaten me about a code, maybe you should enforce ALL the rules with EVERYONE instead of nitpicking with renters at your own personal discretion.
