Epic experience with JoVonna and Surf City RV! Last minute booking, delivery on site and pick up the next day, waived the multi day policy. Not to mention her 1975 GMC RV was the talk of the campsite when she showed up! retro vibe with modern amenities. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

Put the bikes on the back for when we wanted to go for a ride. It was like our own house on the beach.

Being locked down during this Corona Virus Pandemic has been quite boring and nerve racking. Fortunately we found Surf City RV and rented a beautiful, huuuuge motorhome to get out for a weekend trip. Not only was it safe to be in, but it was really comfortable and gave us a chance to "get away" during this crisis. JoVonna did a virtual check out and went over all of the amenities and functions of the RV so we had no problems and were completely safe the entire time. We used the insurance she provided with our package and added on some cool games to go! It was spotless and she assured us it had been sanitized before we left. It was such a relief to get out and do something. We were completely self contained in the spacious double wide pop out Sun Voyager. It's got everything you need for a romantic getaway or a small family outing. Full kitchen, Queen Size bed, shower, and seperate bathroom. All self contained and SAFE! We stored plenty of food and beverages in refrigerator and freezer, and had utensils, pots and pans to cook with! We put the bikes on the bike rack and had a way to get around! It was AWESOME!!!!! If you're looking for something to do during this crazy time Get an RV from Surf City RV and get a little piece of mind and have some fun! Safely of course. Thanks JoVonna!! We'll definitely use your service again!!!

Highly recommend SurfCityRV.com because JoVonna (the business owner) goes above and beyond and exceeded our expectations! We had never rented an RV before so we were a bit apprehensive, at first. We were quickly impressed with JoVonna and her professionalism along with how clean, well-maintained, and luxurious her RVs are for such an affordable price. We chose the Gulfstream RV and it was fully equipped with all the essentials: large queen-sized bed in expansive bedroom with a TV, a couch with a sofa bed, large TV, dining area, kitchen with high quality appliances, roomy shower, private bathroom, along with plenty of spacious room to lounge and relax. Easier to drive, park than expected. JoVonna assured us that her RV was completely sanitized and safe. We were really impressed with her superior cleaning procedures involving rigorous, deep sanitation on the interior and exterior. She also provided us with a comprehensive online training while guiding and instructing us along the way. Her walk-through, virtual tutorial made everything easy to follow and understand. It was impressive how organized she was in keeping all instructional manuals readily available. She had all the rental documents (affordable insurance offered as well) prepared beforehand and was patient in explaining when we had questions in making us feel comfortable in every way. She delivered the RV directly to my home and picked up also. JoVonna's customer support, before the trip, and while on the trip, made us feel completely taken care of. So, if you are in need of a mini-vacation, while still adhering to current shelter-in-place and social distancing policies, I strongly encourage you to rent an RV and see for yourself what an amazing experience you will have.

Rented a RV 21 months ago B-WAC-2253177. The trip an RV was a disaster, but I never wrote a review…read moreabout it because Road Bear was going to do the right thing and give us a redo trip. Just called today to set up our trip and how lucky for me they "updated" there system and any old reservation from 2023 and back are no longer in the system. The trip started fine until we reached the RV park at 12am. No water hoses, sewage lines or TV cable for full hook ups, NOTHING. Next the slide pop out had trouble opening. Next the fridge stopped working and a strong smell of ammonia was coming from it, next the CO2 alarm started going off and never shut off. The alarm was so loud (and rightfully) so the RV park made us leave. We then had to rent a hotel for the duration of our trip. The 1800 roadside service number I called had me on hold for over a hour with finally no one to service us. This all sounds like the worst experience right? Yes, but I was told my account would be noted and a redo trip was appropriate. I didn't want my money back. I wanted exactly what they said they would do. Family trips are not easy and not something we can do every year, but 21 months later and a baby later we decided to have another go at RV'ing. I've rented before from Road Bear and every time we had a issue they solved it, but now with "The new system" I'm screwed? So when you rent from them babysit and double check their work, make sure everything is working and all equipment is ready and if you have any issues just know they will fight you now tooth and nail on their screw up thanks to the "new system". I was told by someone I was clearly bothering that an upper management person would reach out to tell me in a higher paid voice I'm SOL.

Campervans are easy to drive and can fit into any normal-sized parking space. Regarding this company, they provided incredible customer service and a clean, comfortable Campervan. The fold out bed was easy to assemble and the van included a sink, small fridge and storage spaces. Our van was waiting for us when we arrived. We had the option of choosing different bundles: blanket, kitchen items, tent, chairs, basically anything that enhances your outdoor experience. They even had a donation locker where you could take items left by other travelers. We loaded up and we're off on our adventure to Death Valley. We found that this company has several locations in the US, and they will allow for one way travel between their locations. We are now seriously considering planning a cross country trip!

Ice was needed our entire trip to keep anything remotely cold. 2. When you hit the brakes at 55-60 mph or more, the brake pedal vibrated as did the vehicle. 3. The headlights were terrible because the lenses were so sun faded and fogged over. 4. I'm unsure if the shocks were ever changed but every bump on an interstate or rough roads at 65 mph or greater, the van shook pretty bad and wobbled more anything. 4. When rented, I took a picture of the odometer at 598 as the last 3 and they claim it was 587 and charged us for the 11 miles we didn't even drive the vehicle. This is the 2nd time we've used Escape because the first time it was a great experience. This time was not an enjoyable experience and we won't be back. For the price of everything, you'd expect a van in good condition that felt safe as well as being fully functional...we did not get that.

Native Campervans is definitely worth a look if you're looking to rent a nicely equipped campervan…read morefor a fair price in the southwest. We recently wrapped up a trip to Utah's "Mighty Five" National Parks, and picking up a campervan from Las Vegas was the most convenient option for us. The entire booking process is done online, offering clear descriptions of your options and very flexible pickup and drop-off dates and times. (We even had the option to drop off on Easter Sunday, which no other company offered, as far as I could find). Pricing is fair for what you get. Even the actual pickup process is contactless, which is great if you just want to get in and start your adventure. Our particular van (a Squad, built from a Ram Promaster 1500) looked like it had seen better days, with some visible damage all around the exterior. Not sure if I needed to do it, but I took photos of the damage just in case I needed it later. We then got in and drove off. The van is nicely equipped, with a queen sized bed inside, a hard shell rooftop tent, propane stove, basic cooking supplies, a large cooler, and 5 gallon water tank. Most of these things work well. If Native offered a larger, long wheelbase, high roof van, with a wet room, that seats 4, that would have been awesome. But again, good price and value here. Good storage options throughout the van. A table that can be placed and put away as needed. There were a couple of minor issues around the van. Cruise control didn't work, which would have been a big help on some of our long highway drives. Not a huge deal, but annoying for sure. The power inverter's outlets were also barely functional, needing us to press on the plug a certain way to work. In addition, the van's auxiliary battery power switch was turned off at pickup, so I needed to fiddle with the finicky switch at the side of the driver seat to get the ceiling vent fan, interior accent lighting, and some other electrical things to work. The cooler's drain plug was loose at pickup, so some water was leaking once our first batch of ice started melting. That just needed to be tightened all the way. Lastly, after one night's rain, we had a water leak coming inside the van through the overhead map lights. Possibly coming from the roof antenna or marker lights. In addition, one of the window flaps of the rooftop tent had a broken zipper, meaning it couldn't be closed to block out wind. Only the mesh screen could be zipped. In early April in the Utah desert at night, that was an issue with temperatures dipping into the 30s. We also had a small rainstorm one night but luckily the wind was blowing the other way. The van itself was otherwise in decent working condition. The brakes felt like they were due for service but they worked. Fuel economy seemed to be in the 18 MPG range. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd certainly rent from Native Campervans in the future for another vanlife adventure.

We just finished a 9 day trip to several National Parks in the southwest. We rented the 'Smalls'…read morevan from Native Campervans ("Vincent Van Gogh"), which was the perfect adventure vehicle for the two of us! It was easy to drive (if you're used to a van or SUV), got good mileage, and was fast on the highway. We appreciated all the creature comforts we had on this trip, including a very comfy bed, a kitchen that is quick to set up, lots of storage that is easily accessible, and a nice roof-top fan that kept us cool all night. We added on the roof-top box, where we kept our unused airplane luggage and other items (like camping chairs) that we didn't need quick access to. We loved being able to pull-over and quickly put-together a picnic lunch at scenic views, and the convenience of the van made it easy for us to get to the hiking trails very early in the morning. We got several compliments on the van during our trip and we liked that the van did not stand-out in parking lots. We didn't miss our fridge, but we did buy ice for the cooler-bag every-other day. Luckily, every gas station and grocery store in the southwest sells ice, so that wasn't a hassle. There are also lots of places to shower, either in campsites you might stay in, or in RV parks along your route, so we did not miss that too much either (though we did have to accept that we were going to smell a bit some nights!). One thing to keep in mind is that the 'Smalls' is, well, small. Getting in and out of bed involves some flexibility and probably isn't for everyone. My husband is tall (6'2") - the bed was just long enough for him and the driver's seat had just barely enough leg room. He was comfortable, but if you're any taller you'll probably want a bigger vehicle. Also, the 'Smalls' has only enough storage for about 4-5 days, both in terms of the amount of food storage, and the amount of clothing storage. We bought more groceries and did our laundry mid-trip. On the plus-side, since the 'Smalls' doesn't use a generator and is the size of an SUV,  we were able to easily camp at "tent" sites, which are much less expensive than RV sites. Most of the parking-spaces are fairly flat, and with some maneuvering we were able to get the van nearly-level. No one hassled us for not having a tent, and the van is quite sound-proof, so we were never disturbed by our neighbors. We were worried that the water jug might not be large enough (5-gallon) for the desert and we bought a second collapsible one, but we didn't need to use it. We were also worried about changing clothes in campsites (since the van has to be open to cook), and we bought a cheap privacy tent on Amazon. This was useful a couple of times, but is not necessary. Since the kitchen is totally exposed to the elements, we brought a small tarp in case of bad weather. Luckily we didn't need to use it, but we were glad to have it just in case. These vans have a lot of mileage, ours was pushing 100,000, and it is starting to show. The storage drawers had a different locking mechanism from the one advertised, because the original started to break. Instead of a dimming interior light there was just a switch. Instead of bedside USB ports there were cigarette lighter sockets (and we couldn't get the ones near the driver to work). The privacy shields probably worked well once, but they are getting old and kept falling off the windows (we ended up rigging a system with our towels for privacy). On the positive side, despite its age the van ran smoothly and we had no mechanical problems whatsoever on our 1700 mile trip! Overall, we highly recommend Native Campervans for your next outdoor adventure!
