Their rigs are in excellent condition and on the occasions where we did have an issue (there's always going to be some issue with an RV when you drive it for a few weeks), their customer service line and related support was great. Rented a RV 21 months ago B-WAC-2253177. The trip an RV was a disaster, but I never wrote a review about it because Road Bear was going to do the right thing and give us a redo trip. Just called today to set up our trip and how lucky for me they "updated" there system and any old reservation from 2023 and back are no longer in the system. The trip started fine until we reached the RV park at 12am. No water hoses, sewage lines or TV cable for full hook ups, NOTHING. Next the slide pop out had trouble opening. Next the fridge stopped working and a strong smell of ammonia was coming from it, next the CO2 alarm started going off and never shut off. The alarm was so loud (and rightfully) so the RV park made us leave. We then had to rent a hotel for the duration of our trip. The 1800 roadside service number I called had me on hold for over a hour with finally no one to service us. This all sounds like the worst experience right? Yes, but I was told my account would be noted and a redo trip was appropriate. I didn't want my money back. I wanted exactly what they said they would do. Family trips are not easy and not something we can do every year, but 21 months later and a baby later we decided to have another go at RV'ing. I've rented before from Road Bear and every time we had a issue they solved it, but now with "The new system" I'm screwed? So when you rent from them babysit and double check their work, make sure everything is working and all equipment is ready and if you have any issues just know they will fight you now tooth and nail on their screw up thanks to the "new system". I was told by someone I was clearly bothering that an upper management person would reach out to tell me in a higher paid voice I'm SOL. read more

My son and his family rented a class A motor home for the weekend. A very expensive rental. It turns out all the hooks ups they gave them were broken. This caused delays at the campsite and added expense. Road Bear was unwilling to compensate them beyond waving $180 extra mileage charge. Make sure you have working equipment. In May of this year, after 2007, we had a 25-foot motorhome from Road Bear Las Vegas for the second time for 19 days. The takeover was factual and the employee friendly. During our tour we found plenty of defects in the almost new vehicle, which we reported to the service number by telephone. When we returned the vehicle and presented the list of defects, the friendliness was over. The defects were dismissed with a note that the manufacturer is responsible for this. Even the worst defect, the steering wobbled and the vehicle kept pulling to the right, isn't that bad! The employee gave us USD 50 in compensation at his own risk. Road Bear RV Highly recommend! I was nervous to book an RV company since it was such a big investment. I'm so happy we went with Road Bear RV. We looked into Cruise America and El Monte, but we ended up with Road Bear RV due to the lower cost, and knowing that they only keep their vehicles for about a year, then sell and buy new ones. I was extremely nervous to pick up our vehicle. When we arrived, the place was not super crowded, and the staff was very friendly. Our RV was pretty much pristine, with only 3k miles on it! The attendant showed us everything, gave us a lot of advice, and each vehicle has a thorough manual for you to use during your trip. Absolute rip off!! Called these clowns to just get a price for an upcoming trip. First off the prices are never the same and fluctuate throughout the year on the same exact motorhome. I asked for a price for a specific date in September of 2018 and was told a completely insane price of $1200.00 to RENT a motorhome for 4 days!! I can put a down payment on a used motorhome for less than renting one from these guys and own my own. ABSALUTLEY insane prices and then they change the price due to the time of year?? We have rented from Road Bear for EDC Las Vegas in 2019 and it was very nice. However we made a reservation for EDCLV 2020 in June of 2019 when Insomniac announced the dates for EDC. Because of COVID-19 EDC Las Vegas 2020 was canceled and we changed our reservation to the new proposed date - May 23-26. Our reservation was for May 20th through the 27th. Late Tuesday night, April 20, insomniac announced that EDC Las Vegas would yet again be postponed. The new dates are to be October 22-24. We called Road Bear to change our reservation and we were told their computer system was updating and that if we had emailed our change request and everything should be fine. We sent the email at 7:30 AM Eastern standard time to Road bear requesting for our reservation to be changed. However, we have now been informed our reservation has been canceled. Road Bear Las Vegas has been very unhelpful and unresponsive! Poor very poor customer service!!!! read more

Rented a 33' Class D RV from them for trip through national parks with family for 9 days. Second stop leaving Grand Canyon in morning and the living room slide out would not retract. Called for service, they had nobody and suggested I try and make it to a mechanic in Bryce Canyon 280 miles away. I got the side in and had to jerry rig to keep it from creeping out on highway. Arrived to Bryce, mechanic there can't service the defective motor on slide out, we are told to try a mechanic in St. George after we leave Zion at end of our 9 day trip!! We used RV with slide out secured by our own means, when on 3rd day developed a leak somewhere under living room couch, presumable from gray water drain line. Not enjoyable and quite absurd that such a company would not have arrangements to service their defective RVs when out on the road. read more

We rented an RV from them in March of 2017, and to put it simply, it was as excellent experience! My family had not rented an RV before, so we were all nervous, but the people at Road Bear made the process simple, straightforward and painless. They checked us in and carefully went through the RV with us, explaining all the details of the RV and were happy to go over things until I felt comfortable. The RV was spotless and well maintained. While the weather on our trip was not completely as we had hoped, sleeping in that comfortable RV was a dream! Returning the RV was similarly painless and straightforward - no hidden fees or surprises either! I think we had to pay for our extra generator and propane use at very reasonable rates (I think it totaled less than $25), something they had told us about in advance. We had such a great experience my family is now sold on renting RV's in the future and we will rent from Road Bear whenever we have the chance! read more

I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews. The rental experience was pleasant for the most part and my hubby and I were happy to hear all their rentals are current models. Their website says all of their rentals are no more than 1 year old. We researched some other places and some of their rentals were 10 years old! We're traveling with kids so definitely wanted something reliable. Research was easy because a lot of their info was online but I made a few calls to their phone line and the service was friendly. A lot of the functionality on their website were not working properly (online booking, early check in) so we had to do some stuff through email and phone which was fine. But they should improve their online experience. When we went to check in the process was a little slow. The guy helping us was new so it was understandable. However I can see that if it were busy season, the check in process could take a long time. They do paperwork and then give you a tour of the rv and show you all the functions. They were also flexible on the pickup time and let us stop in early to check in. The return process was simple as well. All in all I'd recommend and re rent from road bear! read more

Long story short we had a very enjoyable experience renting from this company, until we turned in the vehicle. Take video and pics of the RV (TOP AND BOTTOM) when you sign the initial walkthrough waver. They delivered us a damaged ladder which we didn't see (this was our first RV experience) and said they were going to charge us $366 for a new one. All because I didn't see the slight bend during the walkthrough. They have NO on site security cameras either. So it's your word against theirs, and because you signed the paper, they're going to charge you anyways. Total scam. It's a shame, we really enjoyed our experience up until then... My boyfriend and I rented a Road Bear RV for 2 weeks and drove around the Grand Canyon. After 18 days, I can honestly say that I had 100% no qualms or problems with the RV. Do not rent from this place. If you already have a reservation make sure to take pictures of the entire Rv before you leave. My husband and I didn't notice a dent in the ladder all the way at the top. When we returned the Rv they charged us $366 for the damage. We would pay for something if we DID do the damage but we didn't. Obviously one of their past renters did it or an employee. It's possible no one noticed it bc it's so high up out of sight. Take pictures of everything. Even if there's no damage. We checked their facility and found damage to their roof the same height of the damage on the ladder. read more

WARNING, Please Read... Unit was poorly maintained and not serviced. Bedbug's, faulty equipment, and overall dirty. Plus non-existent 24 hour help or customer services of any kind. We had to hire an exterminator for the bedbug's and to finish the deal we were FLAT LIED to about details of the contract, P/U in broken and horrible English that did not match drop off and the pile of fees at all. Vacation with this RV company : Faulty equipment and obvious signs of a non-maintained or any general maintenance, plus they held my deposit after we wasted an hour in a half cleaning, cost of an exterminator, completely rude and LIED too. I'm trying to arange a rental out of Las Vegas from September 13 through Sunday, September 16. I have an early flight to catch out of Las Vegas Monday the 17th. I was informed, in no uncertain terms, that they are closed on Sunday and that there is no way for me to drop off the motorhome Sunday evening. It surprises me. I can't believe I am the only one that has this situation where I need to return it Sunday evening. If I were the owner, it would bother me to be turning away business because I made no arrangements for people in my situation to return a vehicle on Sunday. I am a pilot. Sometimes I land at airports after hours. I pay a call out fee to have someone meet me and service my aircraft, but I've never had anyone tell me sorry, we're're just closed, period. They want my business, and have made arrangements, even after hours, to make sure I get what I need. So, I am amazed at the owners turning down business, instead of trying to make it work someway. read more

I booked a 30-32 Class A motorhome from Road Bear RV in Las Vegas. The service was very friendly, and they explained everything we needed to know about the motorhome. They did a very thorough check of the vehicle inside out, and noted every tiny little scratch, on the contract. That made me a little nervous, because I assumed they would be just as thorough when I returned the vehicle, and therefor make me pay, if we had overlooked a scratch at delivery. The vehicle was in very good condition, and clean. Much better standard than what I've experienced with Cruise America with previous rentals. (I haven't had complaints about Cruise America, but Road Bear was better). The supplied kitchen utensils was very good, and we had everything we needed. With Cruise America the supplied kitchen utensils is more limited, and you often miss things. At return they took a quick look inside and out, but not as thorough as at the time of delivery. I hadn't made any scratches, and didn't have to pay for any. So no problem here. The carpets on the floor is covered with plastic. I knew that before I rented, and don't have a problem with that. But in a Class A motorhome, there's also carpets in front of the driver seats. It only took us two days, then the plastic was hanging loos, and didn't cover the carpets in the front. We didn't want to stain the carpets, so we bought some cheap floor mats. During the two weeks rental, the plastic on the carpets in the living area, also started to peel off. I think it's ok that they cover the carpets with plastic, but they need to use a better quality plastic. At least for longer rentals. It's ok for a weekend, but if you rent for several weeks, it's really annoying to have this torn appart plastic lying all over the floor. All in all, I would give 5 stars based on above. BUT, there is a big BUT! The 30-32 feet Class A motorhome we ordered, had the typical floorplan with a bed in the rear end, and in the living area there was a dinette, a couch and a sofa-chair. But the models changed in the time between my booking and the actual rental. So we received a 29 feet with a totally different floorplan. The one that they now rent out, has a bed in the rear end, a dinette in the living area, and then a bed that can be lowered in the front end. But that means no couch, and no sofa-chair. So the only seating option is the dinette. The model sleeps 6 people, but the dinette only seats 4 people. Luckily we were only to people, but the dinette is still not a comfortable seating, and we were really unsatisfied that there was no couch and sofa-chair. I know that they don't guarantee a specific floorplan, and I'm okay with that. But there's gotta be some limit to how much freedom that gives them. But Road Bear dosn't think so. Basicly their opinion is, that because it is written in their terms and conditions, that they don't guarantee a specific floorplan, then they can get away with giving you pretty much anything. I see no reason for ever booking anything but the cheapest model, because apparantly they can give you anything, and just use the excuse that they don't guarantee a floorplan. For that reason I only give them 3 stars, and will probably never rent from them again. If I need a motorhome with for example 4 seperate beds, then I need to be able to trust, that this is what I get. I can't trust that with Road Bear! read more

Rented a 26' RV for our trip to Zion and Bryce. They were a bit disorganized when we arrived but it was Friday afternoon, no doubt the busiest time. When it was our turn they efficiently walked us through the vehicle and its features and got us on our way. The RV was in great condition and looked considerably nicer than many of the Road America models we saw on the road. Had no problems with it during our 6 day rental and they were very accommodating when we asked for a later return time due to our flight schedule. read more

The check in process was super easy. They allowed us to check in early and the tour of the rv was very informative. The rv was very clean and plenty of room for my family of 5. At check in we were told we could check out the donated items that other families had left behind. Not much was there... understandable because we were there before other rvs were returned. We then needed to purchase all the essentials. Small grill, charcoal, trash bags, trash can, firewood, griddle, cooler, water, paper towels, pool floats, grilling tools etc. Again all things we expected to purchase but were hoping to "borrow" a few things from the donated area. This shelf is meant for families to grab a few essentials that the prior families are unable to fly home with. When we returned our rv we had a ton of items to donate. All the above items listed and more! We were just happy to help a few other families start their trip. As we were checking out I saw 2 employees go into the room and remove items we donated. The 1 female employee took a white garbage bag full of items!! It was done right in front of me. I felt very taken advantage of and was extremely disappointed. Now I understand why the donated items shelf was so bare. When I told an employee what I saw he was speechless. Very disappointed. read more

I rented from Road bear RV Las Vegas for a trip around the national parks of Utha and Arizona. Even though the trip was fantastic, and that we had no problem with the vehicule the drop off was a very bad experience since we were charged more than 400$ for damages that we could not have done. I felt riped off and I will never rent from them again. Even though the damage they claim could not happen without exterior damage to the bumper, the manager was absolutely inflexible and confrontational. Bad bad experience. read more

Drove the RV for a young European couple, they took it to the Burning man festival and wanted a Professional Driver ( I have a CDL) to return to the rental agency. I returned the RV at 10:00 AM after dumping, washing and cleaning the RV for 3 hours. I filled the RV with fuel less than a kilometer away. A lady met me when I pulled into the area asked for the keys and started inspecting the RV, after a few minutes she asked me to wait inside the office and she would meet me there. She said the RV was short gas and propane and also there was a scratch on the lower back of the RV, after a couple more minutes a different lady at the computer said that the couple would be charged $38.00 for the combined fuel shortage and $55.00 for a 1/2 hour labor to repair the scratch and $3.00 for generator Fee per hour. Understand, this is not my money but I don't like to see nice people taken advantage of...I asked her several questions about the fuel charges and after a few minutes she said 4 gallons gasoline and 4 gallons propane, I do not know about the propane but I am sure I completely filled the gas less than a kilometer away, but they were charged $4.75 a gallon anyway, so then I asked to see the supposed scratch so I could take a photo of the RV to show this nice young couple, they could not find the RV at that point, saying it had been taken to be fueled, I had noticed when I washed the RV a small rub mark, that would be made by something greasy or rubbery like a bicycle tire rubbed against the side, I could not clean this small mark at the car wash, but if I had some grease cleaner (Goo gone or GoJo) I could have cleaned it in under a minute, I believe this is what they were calling a scratch but since they could not find the RV I could not verify it. Again this was not my money, I have no agenda against these folks at Road Bear, but I honestly feel they took almost $100.00 out of these peoples pockets for no legitimate reason.
