Lovely coffee shop located in downtown Carmel. The staff was friendly and had a vast knowledge of the coffees that they served. The place was exceptionally clean. I could see myself bringing a laptop and claiming a table at this place to get some work done. I got a cold brew to go (which was excellent) and I purchased a bag of coffee for a friend. Visited 1/4/19 and was not impressed. Ordered a flat white and muffin. There were about 4-5 drinks in front of mine but it took a full 20+ minutes for my to-go beverage to be ready. Each drink before mine had beautiful latte art and was hand delivered by the barista - there were 4 people behind the counter yet only one was making and delivering the drinks. When I finally got mine, imagine my disappointment with the steamed milk and foam being quickly poured into the cup with no care or art involved. In addition, after walking to my car (did I mention parking is a nightmare) a block away, I took a sip of my drink and burnt my mouth - it was so hot. So I opened my muffin to wait for my drink to cool and was so disappointed that the outside was black and burnt. If I could 6 stars I would. Wanted to shout out the brave folks behind Carmel's newest cafe. An independent coffee shop that's not Starbucks??? Good for you! If you are wanting another Starbucks in the world this is NOT it and thank heavens! The espresso based drinks are made with a single sourced Ethiopian bean which is smooth, bright and fruity! The vibrant flavor was really enjoyable and such a diversion from the heavy and burnt Starbucks espresso that stays in your throat for hours after. The location is perfect in arts and design district with easy street parking. Inside it's a modern and crisp white decor, which once again is exactly opposite from the expected. We all realize the importance of supporting our local main street storefronts and ICR makes it very easy! read more

Coffee is fresh and amazing. Atmosphere is open and very well lit. It was full and still able to have a conversation with my wife.

The pour overs and nitro brew cold presses are both smooth and delicious. I didn't even need creamer or much sugar. The staff was also very friendly and the store extremely clean. I would definitely go back. read more

My granddaughter was visiting from IU and we sent her to get our coffee. She placed her order and the staff was not very friendly(they were pretty busy) - she had asked for sweetener in her cold brew and they told her there was raw sugar packages on the counter, even though they made her drink incorrectly she attempted to get the raw sugar melted and went back and ask if they had liquid sweetener - of course they do, they just forgot to add it and instead of remaking it they advised her to use the raw sugar pkg - she ask for them to remake the drink - it was like water and no creamer was added (w/remake) and they were extremely rude to her - my husband and I use to come often as we live in walking distance, it will be hard for us to now want to come back when servers are rude, knew they made a mistake and tried to pass it off to a customer instead of taking responsibility for making the drink incorrectly. read more

What a perfect place to hang during the day! Relaxing atmosphere, modern but warm aesthetic promotes productivity and a low-key environment. I had a carmel latte with dairy-free oat milk (as creamer), and it was delicious! Definitely my new go-to work-from-home spot. Keep it up ICR! read more

Alright I take it back- it's good! I must've had a poor batch or inexperienced baristas the first couple times I tried the coffee here. I continued to come back for the atmosphere and I'm glad I did as their coffee has steadily improved. Their lattes are well balanced and the espresso is super smooth. I was very disappointed. Not only they don't have dark roast, they lectured me why dark roast is bad and insisted the reason I don't like medium roast because I never had the proper medium roast. So I was intrigued and ordered espresso. It was just horrible. Light bodied and extremely acetic. It also was served with sparkling water. Never again. read more

I had a terrible xperience inside this coffee shop today, and I am extremely disappointed. My family and I are new to the neighborhood, and we were excited to be within walking distance of a local coffee establishment! My husband has had great experiences the couple of times that he has been here, and he raved about the time that he took our dog inside redently. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I brought my dog inside to get a couple of drinks to-go after walking in the rain to get there, but the second that I stepped inside, one of the workers darted over to me and said that I needed to take my dog outside and "there's a sign." I was shocked because my husband had said that he took our dog inside just the week prior. I stood there, I'm sure looking extremely confused, and headed outside to look for the sign that he said existed that stated no dogs are allowed. I stood outside for a few minutes and did not see it written anywhere that dogs aren't allowed (their business sign, front door, and flower bed had no visible sign stating this). Never mind the fact that their logo is the silhouette of a dog and they have paw prints on their cups.. Since I had already walked over there, I tied up my dog outside and went inside to get my drinks to-go. The encounter with the lady at the cash register was even more awkward.. I apologized for bringing my dog inside initially and stated that I was confused and must have been misinformed. She then said, "It would be our luck that the health department would walk in and see. We only allow dogs to come inside to get drinks quickly to-go." That was my plan all along, so I'm not sure what the problem was. It could be that my dog is a pitbull and maybe was being discriminated against. I guess I'll never know for sure, but it's very unfortunate that the one local coffee shop in the Arts and Design District is so misleading with their pet policy. Also, the barista that made my drink filled it too full to the point where I couldn't put a to-go lid on it without spilling it on their counter. Also, why would they not put a lid on it for their customers that are taking drinks on the go? Very disappointing customer service all around from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. This place was okay. $9 for coffee and a muffin, which seems quite expensive. Internet did not work but the coffee seemed okay.

I wanted to find actual coffee shops instead of Starbucks and Dunkin'. Just went in for the first time. Such a cute place. I do a lot of computer work and working at home that sometimes I like to go in somewhere else and work. This may become my new spot to work. Coffee is great and I am that person that hates the taste of coffee sometimes. I got the 12oz ice latte and it's great. I do have trouble feeling like coffee does stuff to me for health reasons. Maybe I'm on a good day but I actually feel like this coffee did something. Something carmel needed. If they have flavors cause I'm that person that sometimes needs flavors that would be great but definitely won't stop me from coming back. Staff is also great. Saw them interacting with costumers answering questions. I'm an assistant gm at the Juice bar so for me I always look how to improve my staff and how not too from some places. So this place does everything I would ask for from my staff. Keep it up. Definitely check it out. read more
