MOTW, in East Carmel, is off the roundabout and has parking both in the front and back. The space is huge, almost comically large. It could and probably does serve as event/gathering space. When I entered inside mid Wednesday morning, I encountered a Museum-like vibe. Unsure if there should be some exhibits for me to view and ponder while I debate what coffee to buy. I proceeded to get a latte with a little hazelnut flavor, medium size. Latte with oat milk ($1 up charge and hazelnut 35 cent up charge) medium size was $8. I wonder if more of the profit is from these non dairy milk surcharges or the coffee itself. I would say the latte was one of the better ones. It was smooth and not too sweet. Sometimes they're too sweet. The service was good, and it wasn't particularly busy so the coffee came out in like 5 minutes. There are small pastries to try and other specialty drinks. I would consider trying this again given the taste quality of the latte. The medium size was also sufficient. Not too small. 8/10 read more

I had not been to this place for a while because they tend to change the way they make the Hot vanilla latte and it makes me mad that today of all days they had two people working and my latte was awful tasteless and biter at the same time. The sweet gentleman offer to make me a new one and he said hope this one tastes better I try it and it was nog the same I gave him a thumbs up only because I did not want to offend him. But is sad this place used to be one of my favorites so I have been going to other places I think I also saw the owner there who came in later but I just hide like a bug because I know he would have offer me a free something and it's not about the free something is a bout them making things right. Continuing my quest to try all the coffee shops in the Indianapolis area, which took me to MOTW Coffee and Pastries. They have a few locations in Indianapolis, but I was near the Carmel location, so I popped in this one for a honey lavender latte. The decor is super pretty, especially the tile work. This is a great space for working and they are open a little later than most, which is perfect for people who need someplace later in the afternoon. I thought the coffee was ok. It wasn't a standout to me over other coffeeshops and I also discovered this is a chain. That doesn't = bad coffee, but I do think you find a little bit better at the more indie coffee roasters than you do chain places. read more

Our Indy Coffee Club Meetup group came to MOTW Coffee and Pastries for coffee and conversation. I had been wanting to check this place out for a while, and I was impressed with the ambiance when I first walked into the coffee shop. The coffee shop is absolutely beautiful and gorgeous with white floors and walls with beautiful murals on the walls. There was an event about to take place while our group was there for Mother's Day, so it is also a very nice event space for private events or special events. The service is something left to be desired to be honest with you. Everyone was very serious and did not look happy to be there. The young man who took my order was quiet and hardly said anything to me except for my name for the beverage. The other barista was nice and smiled a bit, but other than that, the staff was in busy mode and was focused on their work. It was not the best customer service experience. I ordered a matcha latte with oatmilk for my beverage. It was wonderful and delicious. It tasted amazing and put a smile on my face. They also have empanadas, assorted pastries, and other special drinks that look incredible. The empanadas are supposedly very good,so will have to check it out the next time I am here. MOTW Coffee and Pastries is a very nice venue with excellent beverages. That is all I can really say about this place. read more

I've always loved this location, so I was excited to see they now have matcha lattes. Had to try both the strawberry and the mango. Honestly so hard to pick a favorite. I'm more used to strawberry matcha (and this one is good), but the mango one pairs shockingly well! They also just added empanadas to the menu so I tried the bacon, egg, and cheese, the Argentinian chicken, and the Philly cheese steak.... All were great. I think the bacon egg and cheese empanada with an iced coffee may be my new go to breakfast. Such a relaxing bright cafe. Love the later hours and staff is always kind. read more

I've been to multiple locations several times and it never disappoints! The staff is amazingly kind and genuine with such an open environment. My favorite drink by far is the iced biscoff latte with biscoff cold foam. It's extra swee with chunks of biscoff. read more

I've been going to MOTW to study and enjoy some tea! I like the Egyptian camomile and find it very relaxing. I have tried their pastries which are delicious. I like their store hours because a lot of the coffee shops in that area close earlier, so once I'm done with work, I go to MOTW. I like that the tables are spread out and the space is large where you don't feel cramped at all. Staff is friendly as well! read more

Prefacing this with the fact that I love local businesses, will definitely still return, and will happily update the review to higher stars on a future visit. We just discovered this spot not too far from us and greatly appreciate their hours. It's so rare to find a coffee shop open past the afternoon or early evening. We had serious work to crank out and were so thankful for this wide-open space with many tables, great wifi, delicious drinks, and late hours. I ordered an iced matcha tea with almond milk. I asked for it to not be sweetened and the girl behind the counter said that they use real matcha powder from Japan and it is not sweetened ever. I really appreciated that and enjoyed my deliciously bitter matcha that I love so much. The cups were cute, I like the murals, and tile, and the place was busy. They have a good drink menu and a case of baked goods. I only knocked off a few stars because it just didn't feel clean. The gal behind the counter was just chilling, but the counter where you order had ground coffee beans scattered around, coffee stains on the menus, and our table was sticky. I had to go over to the water jug to try to get the stickiness off our table, but the water jug was also empty. A few other employees came in too and they would've seen all of this on that main ordering counter but no one re-filled the water or cleaned it up at all. With cafes, I always want cleanliness to be a priority, so that's something to note, but also something easy to improve upon. Thank you MOTW - your team was very nice. read more

I'll start by saying the almond croissant and biscoff latte were really delicious. Neither were overly sweet and really hit the spot. Unfortunately the ambiance was lacking. There was only one employee and he was not friendly at all, no greeting, just a blank stare, he did make the drinks promptly though which I appreciated. This place is big and open with ample seating but feels more like a gymnasium than a coffee shop, I would not want to hang out here for long. It was also extremely dirty. Bathroom was horrendous, no toilet paper holder, a horrible odor and noticeable dirt on every surface. The tables were all messy and the area where we picked up the drinks was grimy and had a visible sink that looked to be full of slop as well. read more

There's people who come in and order to-go, others that stay to chat with friends, and some who are working heads down. I recently visited MOTW in Carmel, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots. The cafe has so many amazing drink options ranging from frothy strawberry matcha to delicious traditional chai (my personal favorite.) Beyond the drinks, what makes this place stand out is the attention to detail. The baristas are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do. AC is the best and he always greets everyone with a very welcome hello and recommends pastries and new drinks to try. I love pastries of all kinds, and it makes me so happy to visit MOTW and see so many pastries that I don't usually see in a typical coffee shop in Carmel. Burma. Baklava. Birdsnests. So many delicious "B" pastries. They also have a good selection of muffins here. You'll find blueberry cream cheese and chocolate and cranberry orange and others. Chai was what I ended up ordering, but only after debating whether to get that or a rose-flavored drink. I love rose, and I've found that it's kind of difficult to find rose beverages. You can find them here! The space inside MOTW is very peaceful, bright and airy. When I visited, there were a few people working on their computers, so this looks like it would be a good remote working spot. There's also an impressive mural on the wall that makes for a good spot to take a selfie. read more

Great ambiance, friendly staff. One of my favorite places to go when I need to get work done. I've come here several times when I've needed to get an essay written or work on a project, and it's always been perfect. There are also lots of windows and natural light, so it's a great place to just hang out over coffee. Everyone is very respectful and the coffee and pastries are amazing! This location is a frequent meeting place for my friends and I due to the centralized location for us and the fact that they're open Sundays. There is a ton of seating inside, and it's bright and airy. Parking is usually pretty easy unless it's super busy. Overall, I've had a good experience. While their Biscoff latte is incredible, I tend to lean towards the Spanish latte if I'm feeling something a little less sweet. Their seasonal drinks have been a little more hit or miss in my opinion (though the pumpkin Biscoff latte was INCREDIBLE.) Every pastry I've had has been delicious as well. It's a struggle to NOT get one when I'm there. My only real concern is the fact that they are very understaffed at times. Frequently there will only be one person working midday on Sundays, so if it's busy, waits can be long. However, this definitely isn't enough to detract me from going, just a note if you're on a time crunch! All of the employees have been lovely regardless. read more

Yikes First thing I noticed upon entry to MOTW- baristas had personal Starbucks coffees behind the counter. Not a good sign for me, clearly shows they don't want to drink the coffee that they are serving. Service was unfriendly. Ordered an iced americano and all the ice was melted when served lol. The creamer they had on the counter was a joke, it was the non refrigerated singular creamers that you find at diners. This was my second visit here and my first time was similarly bad. I am a big fan of MOTW anyway but I got to check out the Carmel store today. The vibe is so spacious, and so so laidback. I immediately fell in love as soon as I entered looking at the spacious setup and MOTW famous paintings. I ordered a to go Americano and a date pastry both of which were quickly packed. The Americano as expected had amazing notes (Tinker never disappoints) and the date pastry. Please try the sweet yet flaky and fresh pastry that's bliss early morning making you forget any stress and rush of the day. I may have spent less than 5 minutes today but will definitely be back to spend half a day and work at peace. read more

This location of MOTW is unlike Castleton and 38th street. It's so spacious!! I really love that they are expanding. This location is about one year old I believe. I went there during the week in the evening. It's nice they are open until 8:30pm. There were not many customers. Although I got there around 6:30pm they still had a bunch of pastries. They all looked great. Other coffee shops don't offer nearly as many kinds of parties as them. I live their lattes, it has many different flavors. I chose coconut. I loved it. It was a nice, relaxing ñ, quiet time there. Will return for sure. read more

The pistachio baklava was amazing! I had a green tea the baklava was delicious! A lot of beautiful polite young people which is fine with me doing homework and studying. The music was great soothing it was different and I enjoyed it. My only issue is there's one bathroom one toilet shared by both sexes and the area needed to be cleaned. Coffee wasn't bad but,....... The decor was nice even if the tables had a few crumbs on them. Only one guy behind the counter so service was slow. It was oddly sized for a coffee shop. There was a weird storage area where random things were being kept. What was even weirder was a "security" camera that was behind the counter randomly moving around the area. Super creepy. Not welcoming. I realize that most places have security systems. Never seen one at about 6-1/2 feet off the ground and frantically moving around. Maybe instead of monitoring the shop remotely you come in and actually help your employee run the coffee shop. Can't say I'll be returning. read more

This is the best coffee shop in north indy. The decor in the building is fantastic with wonderful artwork from local artists.
