I've come here several times in the last few years. I've read some of the criticism of "the girls" here on yelp. True, it can take a painstakingly long time to get your hair done, and often you will wait (20 mins) to be seen even if you show up on time. why do I still give 4 stars? my hair looks f@$%ing fabulous. read more

I'm not a big fan of salons because there always seems to be something up their asses whenever they interact with customers. However. The ladies in Indie Six are quite the opposite. They're caring, definitely listen to your needs, they pay attention and they're incredibly friendly. All the stylists talk to each other while working and include the customers in their conversations, if the customer would like to join, of course. Don't worry, they won't take their eyes off your hair to talk. All in all, I was well impressed and would definitely go back again. You should go there too. read more

I didn't really want to spend a bunch of money on a haircut, so I ended up going to a Supercuts. While waiting for my turn in the chair, I noticed how incredibly awful the cut on the woman in front of me was turning out...so I left! I decided that spending money on my hair was actually a really good idea. I thought of the person I knew who had the best haircut and asked where she goes, and she recommended Indie Six. They got me in on the same day and I saw Alex, who spent a lot of time on my hair, making it look and feel awesome. $60 for a women's cut isn't any more expensive than any other salon in the area and I was more than happy with my decision to NOT save money on a haircut. I would definitely recommend Alex and Indie Six to my friends and I will be back in the future! read more

I read Ash W's post twice (below) to ensure I did not write it. Because I had the same exact experience of having to wait - even though I had an appointment - so that my stylist could cut her friend's hair. Her friend did not have an appointment but had an urgent "date." My appointments were cancelled on 2 different occasions because my stylist was sick. Only when I rescheduled she forgot what excuse she gave me and told me about her weekend out of town. These girls have 0 business sense nor have any idea how to treat their clientele who are paying upwards of $150+ for a color. Oh, and took 5+ hours for a cut and highlights! I gave the team there 3 tries (seemed fair, in case those were just coincidences in bad service) before I finally threw in the towel and never returned. Great hairstylists with business sense are a dime dozen. Don't even bother with Indie6 until the girls stop treating it as a place for friends to hangout and start treating their non-friend clients with consideration. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I gave the girls that cut & colored my hair multiple chances. I had almost the identical experience to Ash's post. In fact, I had to read it twice to see if I wrote it! 6 hours and $250 later (quite a shock, as I was not informed it would cost that much), I had something I didn't even ask for. And my stylist took in a drop in client (a friend) and I had to wait 45 minutes. Not a big deal but I had a babysitter at home whom I had promised I would be home MUCH earlier. 2 of my 3 appointments were cancelled (I can only make it on Saturdays, so this is a big deal) because my stylist told me she was sick, only when I went in again, she went on & on about her amazing weekend trip! These ladies have no business saavy whatsoever. THey constantly take calls with their friends and make their clients wait. Very unprofessional and great stylists with respect for their clients are a dime a dozen in Denver. Go elsewhere. read more

I was recommended to Angela by a friend. I went in with long hair and six or seven pictures of what I wanted. I specifically said that I wanted LONG, blended layers because I curl my hair (pictures!!). I also stated that I did NOT want short hair. My hair is at least 4 inches shorter and no layers. The ends look like they were cut with pinking shears. For a color and that crappy haircut, I was charged $200. Yeah, I know a lot of people "love" this salon. I don't. My hair looks terrible. I can't do anything with it. It's too short to fix now. I don't have any more hair to lose. read more

I'm very picky about where I get my hair done and who does it...the girls at Indie Six are awesome. I think my favorite thing is the fact that they communicate with each other and get 2nd and 3rd opinions from each other on customers hair. The other girls, while they probably don't know my name, take the time to walk around and look at everyone's hair and compliment them. The salon is small enough that it's almost like a barbershop for men, in the sense that everyone is just hanging out, talking, sharing stories, all while getting a fashionable trendy hair cut. They are up-to-date artists, they are friendly and sweet, and very talented. I recommend this salon to all my girlfriends. read more

Alex dyed my hair and honestly he was incredible from the work he did on my hair to his hilarious humor he had! Love this place! Got my hair cut here a while back- and liked it. Liked the atmosphere. Today- I went back for an eyebrow wax- they were running a groupon- so I thought I'd try out their waxing services. I don't get my brows waxed or tweezed often because usually they end up way to skinny and looking ghetto. I like them natural- but cleaned up looking. Alicia did a fantastic job. I literally could not have asked for anything better. And- she was super nice and great to talk to. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I absolutely love the service I get at this joint. Alicia is super friendly, interesting, genuine, and not OVERLY chatty, which I find refreshing. But most importantly, she is an AMAZING stylist and obviously cares a great deal about her craft, always going the extra mile for her clients. She has the right blend of attention to detail and perfectionism that is needed for a superb men's haircut & beard trim. She knows my hair and beard well after a few months and has plans for them into the future, and every time I go in I feel like I come out looking better and better. I've never received so many compliments on my style. After one recent cut, a random cashier asked me if I was a barber myself, because Alicia had me looking so sharp. I didn't realize you could buy this kind of confidence booster, but as it turns out, you can! As an added bonus, the prices are extremely reasonable. Amber had been cutting my husbands hair while I went to some other random salon. Then she started cutting our sons hair. I finally decided that it should be a family affair - besides, Amber was so cool and she was the first one to give my son a decent haircut. We came to love all of the ladies at Indie Six and when we moved back to California, it distressed us that we would not be able to go there for our cuts and color. However, we recently made a trip back to Denver and actually made an appt to have Amber cut our sons hair while we were there! Now THAT says a lot about her and Indie Six. Just want to tell all of Denver.....If going "or" maintaining a Fab color of Blonde. Get over to Indie Six and see Briana!! I had my hair destroyed a few months back at another salon. Bad Brassy color and uneven cut. Just meeting Briana seemed to calm me, and the salon had the best music playing that too helped! My daughter-in-law(Laura) had set this all up for a Mother's Day gift. I was scared!! Briana first talked to me to see what was I really wanting, color, cut...we made a few choices and she got busy!! We had the best day chatting and when Laura came by to check on me she was offered glass of wine and joined in the chat. My ugly dead Brown hair was transformed into a perfect color of Blonde for me. I requested a low maintenance cut, For the first time ever I got the cut I asked for, no layers, no bangs....just a simple Blunt cut. I want to Thank Briana and all the staff at Indie Six for making my first visit a wonderful and fun experience!! I have now found a home salon for my Blonde and Cut needs. Well, I have now been on hold for 7 minutes, listening to Angela try and figure out her personal bills as I try to schedule an appointment. Oh and better yet, she just hung up on me after I had to listen to her talk about her ex boyfriend and figure out her bills for 8 minutes. I am very irritated and would not even go here had I not already bought a voucher from Chase Daily Deals. I really hope the actual experience of getting my hair cut is better than my experience of trying to make an appointment. read more

I went to Peggy and got my hair done red today. It's always a coin toss on reds (some are too orange, some too bright, etc) so she helped me choose what she thought would be the best color choice, letting me know we could always add more color or highlights depending on what color my hair was when we were done. I had colored my hair a box color prior so that could have changed the outcome. I LOVE my color. I've been home for about an hour or so and can't stop checking the mirror over and over again. I will be back and would recommend the salon to anyone looking. It was cozy, everyone was nice, and I loved the results! read more

My first visit to this salon was a few weeks ago and I already can't wait to go again! I chose this location based on proximity (a block away from my place) and reviews. I hadn't got my hair professionally done in a couple of years and my boyfriend decided to surprise me with a gift certificate with Peggy Cox. Peggy did an amazing job adding vibrant green/teal to my jet black box-dyed hair. She also gave me the haircut that I desperately needed and I felt like a million bucks leaving the salon. Peggy lent her expertise in assessing my hair and gave me a realistic expectation on this visit and goals for future visits. Peggy and the other girls are warm and friendly, totally my type of chicks. I also had complimentary wine and got to listen to Nine Inch Nails, yay! read more
