Disastrous attempts at plucking throughout high school? That was my emergency. So I gave her a shot and oh I'm so glad I did! When untamed, my eyebrows are seriously out of control and I start to look like my very italian Dad who, you know, looks fine with those eyebrows because he's not a nineteen year old girl. Heidi told me I had very difficult brows and then proceeded to work magic on them to the point where, on the drive home, I couldn't stop checking myself out in the rear view mirror and nearly ran into a bus. Safe! But seriously, they are perfect. The salon is adorable, very welcoming. There's parking on the street all around, even on a Saturday, and no meters. I was offered a drink the second I stepped foot in the door and didn't have to wait at all even though I was twenty minutes early. The waxing itself was extremely comfortable and basically pain free, and they use all natural and organic products so my overly sensitive skin doesn't freak the hell out a few hours after waxing. I am sort of waxing poetic about this place but I think it (and Heidi) most definitely deserve it. Excellent!

I came in to get a very simple and straight 2 inch hair trim from Bella and it did not go as I was hoping. Bella was polite and listened to my easy request but her attention to detail and quality was not there. I came in with my hair almost fully dry from freshly washing it so she asked if I had just washed it, which of course I answered yes to. But I wasn't expecting this question to indicate that she would start cutting my hair dry. At first I was confused because at every salon I've been to, shampooing is usually included into the price of a hair cut but I went along with it thinking maybe this place just likes to charge more for shampooing and not mention that on their website or in person (and at this point I wasn't interested in paying them extra for it anyways). Then my dissatisfaction really started to kick in when I watched Bella measure my hair for evenness. When she did this, she took a part of my hair on both sides the first time really fast and with a very quick eye (possibly noticing a difference in length, I'm not really sure); then again immediately after only using her sense of touch while looking completely away from my hair altogether. Then she proceeded to snip a bit more on one side. My trusting personality started out hoping that this was just her technique but when I got home I realized it was purely lack of effort and care. Now, for paying $40 plus tip, I can't expect the best hair cut I've ever had, and apparently a complimentary shampooing either, but for such a basic hair trim, I would expect more than what I left with. The staff were all friendly and the vibe wad hip and laid back. I was offered water, soda, or a Lacroix when I arrived, and the receptionist took my coat. I felt immediately welcomed and comfortable in this salon, which was unexpected. Amber listened to my needs and looked at the pictures I offered to show her what my goal "look" was, and my hair turned out beyond my expectations! She recommended products that would help my hair but wasn't pushy about it, so I didn't feel "sold to". I will definitely be back - Amber earned a new loyal customer for sure!

She tried reaching out/emailing the owner of the salon to see if she would connect her with another stylist in the salon to fix her hair and remedy the situation (since she no longer trusts the stylist that originally did this to her hair). No response from the salon owner. So she gave the stylist that did this to her hair, the opportunity to fix it. She was and is still very underwhelmed/unhappy with the outcome and is having to go somewhere else to have the color corrected and her hair fixed the way she wants it. Hairstylist: It was somebody from...Yelp? They wanted to talk to the owner and she's not here so I told him I'd take the message and have her call him back. He asked me if I wrote down all the info but I didn't...oh well. Me: Ohh ok... It made me wonder if she knew any idea of what Yelp was and made me not tell her that I may or may not review this experience. I may not review all the time, but for the most part, people always remember their not so good experience so here goes nothing: I got a tip from one of our managers on our floor where she got her last haircut and I was in dire need of a haircut (hadn't gotten a hair cut in almost a year so the mop on my head was was in desperate need of TLC). I told her that I loved her hair and she had a good experience with the girl at Shear Success. I said I am totally going there and happen to see they had a Groupon. Score for me - made me look forward to it even more so. Finally the day arrived to get my haircut and I was anxious all day for it because I was ready for healthier and lighter hair. Unfortunately for the hairdressers here, I compare their work with what I get back at home in Michigan. I've lived here for the last 5 years and CANNOT find THE hairstylist that is a keeper. I told the hairstylist you can do whatever you'd like to my hair, all I ask is that you do not give me face-framing layers and that it's no shorter than my armpit. I would think there would be endless possibilities as my hair was waist length. So this is what happened: She took the shears and cut off the length with maybe two cuts. Then proceeded to color my hair with partial foil. When she got to the hair closest to my forehead she slapped it on and probably punched my right eye a couple times in the process. I would have told her but I probably blacked out both times. And here is where I should have stayed quiet and not ask any questions: Me: So...what do you plan on doing with my hair (this is while she is blowdrying my hair, at which point makes me think she was close to being done) Hairstylist: Oh what do you mean? Me: Like what kind of plans do you got for my hair? Layers? Etc? Hairstylist: I already cut your hair, I'm just going to texturize it. Me: Oh ok (in my head I said, hahaha, just kidding). I don't know if it was because I had a Groupon in tow, but I felt like she did a half-ass job. Like she just wanted to get the job done. I was disappointed that there wasn't more dimension in my hair. If I wanted to get my haircut at one length I felt like I could have done that myself. I asked her if she could go back in and put some layers in there and she said that there already were layers in there but I just couldn't see them. At that, I tipped her nicely - probably more so than I should have, but since I don't think I'll go back, it was my "I'm not coming back and guess what, you'll be on Yelp." Overall, it wasn't a botch job, it was not horrible, I'm not a person that is attached to my hair, I think I was just disappointed - hoping for more creativity. And onward goes the search for the perfect hairstylist....

I've been a fan ever since! There is plenty of free parking and it's easy to book services over the phone. I normally switch up who I see, but I have had great experiences with everyone I have come into contact with! This place is clean and has an upscale feel to it! I normally get highlights and a cut. Typically it takes about 2 hours and I never feel rushed. Everyone is very friendly! I would recommend this location to anyone!
