For my husband's birthday I decided to give him a charter fishing trip. We woke up bright and early and signed in. My husband told me to take seasick pill even after I told him that I don't get seasick. I kind of think this was the cause because... Yep, you guessed it, after we were on the bumpy water and I had caught one whole fish, I started feeding the fish. My entire trip was me feeding fish. Oh, wait, except the one time I decided to feed try the reel again and slipped going head to head with the fish in the bins beneath me. I could have sworn one was screaming "Nooooooo!!!!" As I was trying to avoid him. The crew was so amazing! They had to try and balance taking care of me along with the many fishermen/women/kids. They even changed location of smoking because I told them it was making it worse for me (yes, they smoke on the boat). The crew caught my fish for me so when hubby and the rest were finished we had plenty of fish. I highly recommend taking this charter and plan on going again sooner than later...but without the seasick pills. Really, I think that was the cause. ;) ........ .. .... ....................

We left the dock around 7:30, cruised out about 20 minutes and had fish on as soon as we dropped our lines. We caught so many fish we started throwing back the small ones. On the way back in we opted to pull the crab pots...came home with 8 nice crab. We paid Jim $1 per fish to filet and package them for us. Bring an ice chest! We went back to our rental house and had an amazing fish fry and crab fest!

They don't allow motorized boats, but we spotted a couple of kayaks floating by, with the occupant casting a fishing line out. Beautiful scenery with well maintained, mostly shaded, asphalt trails. Very peaceful & the people we did see on the trail were polite & cordial.

Spots to fish and BBQ, launch non-motorized boats - great park! But unfortunately, it's frequently a camping spot for transients. And while not all transients are bad, we have experienced some that are on drugs, yelling, riding bikes at uncomfortably fast speeds, or just spitting and yelling at passersby. There was even a blunt sitting on an empty park bench. Which, shouldn't be an issue as marijuana is legal in this state, however, not only would someone not know what it's laced with, there are frequently children walking in that park and might come across it. If I didn't have my two dogs and my protector husband with me, you wouldn't catch me alone in that park ever. But with my bodyguards and always being alert and choosing my path wisely, I have some of the most amazing walks there!

The marina has over 400 moorage slips, a six lane boat launch, fish cleaning stations, restrooms and showers. The RV park offers full hook-ups, restrooms, showers, laudromat, and recreation room. Both offer daily, weekly and monthly rates. It's a great place to charter a boat for fishing. The rates are pretty reasonable in this small coastal town. You can also try to fish or crab on your own from the dock. We enjoyed our time here. Everyone was so friendly and willing to share their fishing adventures with us. We would definitely recommend if you're looking for a place to charter a boat or fish off the dock while staying at the RV park.

Honestly not sure how to rate a Marina but this one was just plain fun. The sounds of happy folks…read morehanging out on the water filled the air while we visited, and every once in awhile we'd hear an even more excited scream as someone pulled up a crab trap to find a keeper. Yep. That's right. In between all of the commercial vessels that call this marina home you'll find locals and visitors trying their hand at catching a Dungeness crab. Charleston Marina is one of the top recommendations for crabbing from shore. It's easily accessed, spacious, and can be productive. I was amazed at how many people were hanging out trying their luck. We dropped our first crab ring, and after a few minutes we pulled it up and found a lot of crabs! None were keepers but it was so cool to know all of them were hanging out. This is a must do during your visit and the bait shop near the docks offers the equipment for rent, so make it happen. You'll also find a lot of charter boats leaving from here too. Equipment is very nice, guide Mike was awesome. I learned SO much about the marine life, birds, and old coast guard station. Wet suits are provided. Suitable for beginners. The guide takes pictures that are available online afterward, so just go, paddle, and enjoy this gem of the Oregon Coast. SO, SO glad I did this. Thank you, David and Mike.

We took our boys (ages 6 & 8) and they were able to catch limits of rockfish with one parent per kid helping to hold the rods in addition to catching our own limits. We all had a great time and caught a ton of fish. The captain and deckhand were awesome and made sure we had all the help we needed. It was absolutely worth the drive from Idaho and we'll definitely be back for another trip!

Even at the start of winter the pond and ducks are a relaxing and calm sight to see. I imagine in the spring when everything is in foliage, it's more crowded. But I look forward to seeing it change throughout the year. They do have porta-pottys but would be nice if they had real restrooms. Across the street is a baseball field. Still didn't see any restrooms. Only had a short time to explore, but look forward to seeing the many hiking trails it offers.

Lots of nicer looking places to stay at nearby, especially if you want more room around your site.
