the best Mazatlan restaurant in the chain. It is absolutely GORGEOUS. They don't always have someone at the front so I usually take a look into the dining room until someone sees me and comes out. The place is clean and big. It is absolutely beautiful from the paintings to the seating to the ceiling. The food portions are huge , which is a big plus for us. The burritos are pretty good but nothing crazy. We got the mixed fajitas with the chicken and beef and the chicken seasoning is delicious in them. I don't know if the chicken burrito has the same seasoning but it didn't taste like it did, the fajitas were delicious. The fried icecream is a must. Very delicious from start to finish. Positives: we were seated right away and the staff did not seem to hurry us in any way despite coming in an hour before closing. Negative: I ordered the chicken fajitas. It did not smell or taste the way fajitas smells or tastes at any other restaurant I've been to. I can't put my finger on it exactly, missing spices or the wrong spices? The juices permeated into the lettuce which made the lettuce taste off-putting. My sister and husband noticed the smell was off too. This place is huge, with two dining rooms and a large bar/event area with a free parking lot. It's super clean, and the service was quick and friendly. I had never been to Mazatlan before, but I came here because it was one of the only places that popped up that had Menudo/Pozole on their menu. We found this place on our way home to the city after a long camping trip in the mountains, and the food was like heaven-sent. We also appreciated that they didn't judge our appearance (we probably could have looked better). At least one more group looked like they either hiked or had just gone camping, so it could be a stopover place. It's a perfect location for travelers, local families, etc. They're located right off the highway. We ordered: Menudo--As you can see in the picture, it's straight tripe. No hominy was in it, but tbh, I appreciated the flavor. I'm not sure if they use any feet in the broth, but the broth was not too watery and a little thick, which was perfect for my healing. I was feeling so weak and gross from our camping trip, and this made me feel way better. -Blended Mango Margarita--This was so tasty, just what you expect from a blended Mango drink. This was one of the most disappointing experiences. A new busser came to deliver more water and chips. Accidentally, she dropped the pitcher which spilled entirely over me and my cellphone. Hey, accidents happen... we told her we understood. Our server watched and brought towels to help clean/dry me off... At the end of our meal, we were presented with the check. No discount or comp for the issue - not even mentioned. I reviewed the tab and just kind of smiled and provided my card. She asked if everything was ok and I said yeah, everything's ok... She insisted I speak up, and I said I'm just surprised not even a free soda or something for the accident. Just a gesture... or effort to show apologies... No manager came by to ask what happened... just zero concern about it. She immediately apologized and said she told her manager and he said "if they don't ask for anything - do not offer". She was embarrassed about his call. We asked to speak with him. He came over and immediately was defensive. Said "she didn't tell me how much was spilled" and I just asked "is there an appropriate amount of liquid to be spilled on a customer" He scoffed, said "well sorry about that" smuggly and did not offer anything to right the situation and stormed off. I feel sorry for a team that tried to do the right thing and the manager made such a poor call in regard to customer service. The time prior, our daughter was served curdled strawberry milk, and when we brought this to the servers attention he said " I wondered about it... I should've checked the expiration date..." It was our first time here and my first reaction was how big this restaurant was. It looked really clean and everyone was super friendly. Our waiter was great and explained things on what we had questions on. The food did not take long to come out after ordering. I was surprised at how big the plates were. For appetizers, we got the fresh guacamole and the queso dip. The queso dip was great, it wasn't too spicy for me. The guacamole was very fresh and it too tasted great. I would definitely recommend this place for any occasion. I was looking forward to some churros or fried ice cream, but I was so full from my entree that we had to go without. Truly between a 2-3 star experience. The place is new, huge, bright and pleasant with a nice outdoor patio and beautiful landscaping. I just wish the flavor of the food matched the atmosphere. Huge menu but everything is close to $20, even spinach enchiladas $18!! The margaritas were very good, chips fairly fresh but close to room temp, salsa decent. Our server wasn't friendly, ugh. I ordered a chicken taco salad, I noticed it didn't have onions and didn't come with dressing, salsa (pico de gallo) or even avocado/guacamole. But it was the cheapest ($16) thing on menu and wanted something lighter. I asked for onions and ranch. Hubby ordered a combo of enchilada/chalupa w/ picadillo beef, rice/beans $18 or $19. When my salad arrived I was shocked how small and generic it looked. It was even on a small plate. Basically a lettuce salad in a small tortilla shell with few traces of cheese & tomato along with onion I added w/scoop of sour cream. I had to go searching for the chicken. I asked the server he just stopped for a second and said " it's in there" and walked off! Unbelievable. There was about 1/3 cp of tasteless chicken under all the lettuce. I had to add all our salsa, tried both hot sauces on table, S&P and it was still not satisfying. Sorry I ordered. Hubby's plate looked better than it tasted, he said it was just OK, but agreed you couldn't taste the Mexican seasonings, not even garlic! He dumped salsa, S&P on his food too. Server knew I wasn't at all happy but just kept walking by. Stopped once to give hubby water refill. A manager stopped to ask if we wanted another margarita but failed to ask how things were. It was just disappointing overall, we walked in expecting a tasty meal with pleasant service but left feeling the opposite. I was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful. Very large, nice space between tables and clean. I ordered the chicken fajita salad off of the lunch menu and snacked on the chips and salsa while I waited for my food to come out. The salsa was not very good at all. Kinda tasted like tomato juice with a couple bits of minced onion in it. My food came out and looked good but didn't have any flavor. It desperately needed seasoning. I was so disappointed. I've had better fajitas seasoned with a McCormick packet. The service was subpar. The waiter barely talked to us and when he did, the things he said came off rude. I ordered and paid for my food and asked for salsa, I mentioned that I needed several containers because they are small to put on my food. They brought out the food with one small container of salsa so I asked for two more. They brought them out and said they needed to charge me. I paid full price for my dinner and gave a $3.00 tip. I mentioned that if I sat inside to eat, they would bring me as much as I wanted for free but they said they had to charge so I said I would pay and they (including the manager) were trying to figure out the computer and it was taking a long time so I finally said forget it and left. I was very angry. I have eaten there many times and never had any issues but I thought was really petty and they never even told me what they were charging me. They weren't nice about it at all. Waited 5 mins and was seated with chips/salsa were quickly served. Great service. Very attentive. The food was...alright. I had the Chalupa deluxe which was basically a Taco Salad which was also on the menu except $1 less. Pictures added. My wife had pollo a la crème which was good as well. To be honest, there was really nothing special about the food. Tasted like any other Mexican restaurant (El Toto for example). Prices were about the same $15-$30 depending on the plate. I usually don't like leaving bad reviews but have to on this one. 12/31/2024 placed a pick up order in the afternoon via phone call for pick up at 7:30. The person taking our order said to pick up by 7:30 as they closed at 8. When we got there we said we had a pick up and no one knew what was going on for a pick up. No one said anything to us besides be right back. We paid upfront since they said they would be right back with no time frame. We then proceeded to wait for 30 mins as the person who took our order did not tell anyone. We were late to our party as we waited till 8 for our food which is unacceptable. No one was communicating with us while we were there as they were ignoring us. Not once did anyone said they were making it. The workers and even the manager did not apologize or anything for this. Very unprofessional for a manager to basically say the it was the guys fault in the morning but we didn't even call in the morning. I understand if there was a mishap or miscommunication but the fact they didn't communicate with us or even apologize to us for waiting 30 mins is what sets me off. read more

My favorite entree, Camarones Mojo de Ajo, has become 7 tough shrimp with very mildly spiced mushrooms BURIED in onions, onions, and more onions. No sauce, dry tasteless shrimp and shrooms totally overwhelmed with sauteed onions! I usually love onions, always ask for extra on burgers and salads. The sheer volume and smell of these are almost enough to make me gag. This was my first visit to this location. It's a gorgeous building. The staff was attentive and accommodating for a group of 6 on a Friday night. The food was fantastic! We were so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food. We had tamales, steak, chicken fajitas, pork and even a quesadilla. We left stuffed and happy. We tried the special drink which was the green apple sangria and it was tasty! We got great service and great food. That's all we wanted. We will definitely be back. We went here tonight, our sever was the best part of the night. She was so nice. The atmosphere is beautiful, but the food had zero flavor. We love Mexican food! I've never been somewhere bad!! Our margaritas tasted like store bought sour mix only. We asked for Cadillacs. The queso was burnt and there was no one there. It wasn't busy, nothing to explain the absolute terrible experience. Once we bit into the meat it tasted like fatty Rubber , the food didn't taste fresh , the guacamole tasted like it's been sitting out for a few days the sour cream and a chunky taste to it. The Chile rellenos tasted more like a tomatoe sauce and very pasty looking. The food wasn't even hot it was warm like they had heated it up from a microwave. The Burrito had more beans inside than meat and rice. Waste of money foreal foreal! Nothing tasted Authentic. Worst Restaurant EVER ! Horrible !! We took my brother in law and his wife for their anniversary lunch and the waitress kept asking us if we wanted margaritas, after second time she asked us, my sister in law decided she wanted to try strawberry margarita grande and my brother in law and my wife wanted one too, so we ordered three strawberry margarita grande. To our surprise we were charge $16.75 and additional charge of $0.50 for strawberry a total of $17.25 for each margarita's total cost for three margaritas $51.75, the price of drinks is more than our meal, no wonder the waitress is pushing this drinks to the customers. I tried calling the manager and I was informed that the manager was not available and that I will get a return call. Never got the call. I will not return to this business establishment. read more
