Just like everyone else, I found them on Groupon. The scheduling process was easy. Yes we were recommended the extra service but we definitely needed it. James also found that one of the ducts was closed which was an Ahh! Moment since we noticed little to no air flowing . I was shocked how bad our vents were. James and his colleague were very nice and helpful. They were careful and covered our couch to avoid getting debris and they even vacuumed after they were done. The only one problem was they left nails in two of our beds. He did suggest the UV light and will be coming back to install. James was very nice and even with expressing his recommendation, I never felt it was forced at all. Fair price for the service. I needed my air vents cleaned so I looked on Groupon and saw Indoor Air Specialists. I got the voucher and called for an appointment. James responded on the first call and gave me an appointment. On that day he and his Assistant arrived on time and got to work. They were very efficient! James explained everything to me. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. They cleaned the vents (all 8) and I had some mold on them. He gave me information on how they could treat it and gave me a reasonable price. Brian and his team arrived on time and prior to that, I received a text to track their route to me. I ended up having them do more than I purchased on Groupon yet it wasn't due to up-selling. James and Lance were great! We originally scheduled them for an air duct cleaning service since we just bought our home and thank goodness we did. During their inspection, they found mold in the air duct, it was so gross! They were able to come back later in the day when it was convenient for our schedule to do a deep cleaning. They made sure to move any furniture that was directly under any vents so they wouldn't get dirty. They cleaned every vent and duct and got rid of all that nasty stuff! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I hope others can save themselves from being scammed by them.My husband & I purchased our home on July 1st.We wanted to have the air ducts cleaned even though we had inspections done prior to our purchase & there were no issues raised.We found a Groupon for the cleaning of whole house air ducts & dryer vents.We planned on continuing services in the future to ensure that it stayed clean.The owner, James, came with the tech on the day of our appointment, they went into the attic & immediately told my husband that we needed deeper cleaning because there's really bad mold which isn't covered with the Groupon.He convinced my husband that it absolutely had to be done & also into putting in some UV lights to help with mold & prevent growth.The dryer vent(which was included in the special), he said he would have to charge extra because of location but he would "throw it in" if we get all the other stuff done.I was absolutely hesitant in agreeing to these services & should have listened to my gut & said no.A simple $100+ Groupon, turned into over $1000+ of services that "HAD TO BE DONE".I've been told to be very wary of air duct cleaners, because they'll always upsell since you cannot see in the ducts.I should have alerted my husband & stuck to it.  He only did the cleaning that day, which I don't feel that they actually did anything other then put some air freshener in our system that lasted about 20 mins.This was $600 on the invoice.He told my husband to call him when our dryer was delivered, for the cleaning of the dryer vents & he'd have the UV lights by then.Weeks went by & we couldn't get a hold of him.Initial appt was July 15 & from the week after we had been attempting to contact them to finish.Almost 3 weeks of being unable to reach him,I emailed & asked for a refund for the incomplete work, $400 on invoice.He called following my email claiming that he never received a phone call or any voicemails from us(my husband left at least 3).He gave excuses about needing to get their systems checked because they were having issues with their phone numbers & getting calls.While on the call, I requested a refund & explained the entire situation.He agreed to give a partial refund because the lights were already ordered.He said he'd call me the next day to set up an appointment & do the refund.Never received a call back.On 8/2 we called several times to the new number, no answer, so my husband texted him.He called back that evening, said he didn't remember us, or the interactions.He said they've been so busy but he would set it up on 8/7.My husband texted him to request the refund to be processed prior to the appt & we never got a response.On 8/6, we emailed informing him that we texted & called all week regarding the refund but we hadn't heard back & to please process the refund.On the day of the appt, we waited all day & no one showed up.That evening my husband texted him that no one showed or contacted.James responded back "oh let me check if a tech is nearby". No apology, no professionalism about the situation.Finally around 9pm after waiting all day & not receiving a call back, we sent him a refund request through Venmo(which is how we initially paid because he doesn't take credit cards or anything else. RED FLAG) & sent him a text informing him of such.On 8/10 after several calls & texts, we finally said that we would be pursuing legal action because we had just had enough.He responded saying he's been in the hospital & didn't have his phone which is why he couldn't get back to us & that he would refund us but still complete the job because he felt bad.Had we not received so many other excuses along the way, we would have given him the benefit of doubt.If you're apparently the business owner, & it is your name & livelihood on the line, you make sure someone else handles your business when you're unable to.That night while they texted, my husband insisted that he do the refund right away because we knew he would to back to not answering & end up getting more excuses.He said he'd do it after getting the invoice the next morning, instead my husband sent him the invoice right away. He didn't process the refund, instead he said he'll come 9am next morning because he feels so bad.Same thing, no show, no answer, no refund.We text multiple times that day, with no response back.He eventually texted back at the end of the day & said he'll process the refund and stopped responding back after that.On 8/11 we received the $400 back but he did not complete the job as he claimed that he would.I should have my husband to stick to the Groupon & refuse anything else.I would have definitely filed a claim for the other $600 as well if I had used a credit card.Now reading other reviews & talking to others on the Next Door app, I see that upselling bs services are a common occurrence for this company. No professionalism.They should definitely be put out of business so that that can stop scamming people. read more

I am posting this review on multiple sites to help people avoid wasting their time and money on this terrible business. My partner and I bought a Groupon voucher because we wanted our ducts and dryer vents cleaned. They didn't do anything! Shortly after the technician began in our home, he informed us that our air ducts were filled with mold and we had to pay approximately $500 to get them cleaned. We denied paying right away because we wanted to do more research, so requested that he just clean the dryer vent, which was clearly included in the Groupon. The technician claimed he was unable to clean it properly and he would come back the next day with the owner. No one ever returned to our home or contacted us. It gets worse. Once the technician left, we reviewed the photos from our home inspection only one month prior. There was no mold anywhere in the vents, which our home inspector confirmed. I don't know what picture the technician was trying to show us, but it was clearly not ours. This is clearly a scam. They took our money, tried to upsell unnecessary services, and did nothing. We bought our house over twelve years ago, and we haven't had the air ducts cleaned since we moved in. Needless to say it was long overdue. You'd be amazed at the amount of dirt and grime that can build up in your ducts. More concerning to me was the fact that we've been inhaling all of that dust over the years. Lucious and his partner were great! They were professional and efficient. They provided a fair quote for a deep cleaning on both of our HVAC units, cleaned our dryer vent and swept and vacuumed afterwards. My girls were happy about that last part as they'd just spent part of their morning cleaning . IAS will become a part of our routine home maintenance going forward. I don't post reviews much but usually rely on them to decide which business to try. I thought this time i needed to let people who rely on reviews know about this company. I hired Indoor Air Specialists based on reviews from yelp and they came out 8/13/2020 to give me a quote for air duct cleaning. Turns out I had mold and needed a UV light installed to prevent future mold & I decided to get my carpets shampooed by them while we were at it. James quoted me about half what another company had quoted me the day before so we se ides to give it a shot. They cleaned my ducts & shampoo carpet on 8/13/2020. UV light had to be installed at later date because they had to order it. After waiting for over a month they finally came out on 9/18/2020 and installed UV light @ noon. My AC stopped working after they installed UV light and they had to come out same day @ 4pm to remove UV light because James said it was conflicting with Nest thermostat and would have to order another UV light. My house reached 80 degrees that day when the AC was set to 70 all day. Ever since 9/18/2020 my house was always warm and my AC was continuously running to no avail. On 9/28/2020 my husband finally had time to go up in the attic to see if he could notice any obvious problems. He found one of the main ducts sitting on the attic floor disconnected from the HVAC system. My house felt warm and the attic felt cool due to the air being blown straight into my attic for the past 10 days! I am dreading my utility bill next month. My husband had to run to Home Depot to purchase materials to reconnect the duct to the HVAC system. He also noticed a hole that had been cut into the HVAC box with tape over it, turns out they made that cut to install the UV light. This is beyond unacceptable. I tried calling James the night we discovered the problem but it was Sunday 7pm. I never received a call back so I texted him the next morning and told him everything we discovered and all he could respond with was that the UV light was defective per the manufacturer. No apologies were made and no explanation as to why the duct was disconnected from my HVAC system. I asked him to cancel the UV light replacement because I cannot trust him to work on my house any longer. I initially requested an online quote to remove mold from my 3rd floor ducts and out of the 4-5 companies I requested help from, these were the only guys that gave me a solid quote and agreed to come out. They arrived early and found my blower unit in the attic to be infested with mold. They did a thorough cleaning and got it back new again and did the same to my affected ducts. The final price was at the high end of the initial quoted range and I can live with that, as it was a fair price. Fast forward a few weeks and we buy all new appliances (to avoid the headache we ended up with) and our dryer is taking days to dry laundry. We fight with the appliance people, get folks out here, and almost return our "non-working equipment" just to troubleshot ourselves and find clogged dryer vent lines. The guy who allegedly cleaned them argues with my husband and refuses to admit the job either wasn't done or was not done correctly. $300 more later to get someone out here to actually clean it. David and Lance came out on Saturday afternoon to clean out our vents. I was having a difficult time understanding not only the amount of dust accumulating in our home, but the way the dust looked! Hard to explain, but it was heavier and stuck together, almost looking fuzzy. I have COPD, and my health has quickly gone downhill in the 10 months we have lived here. Well, the guys went up in the attic and brought down pictures. The mold around the unit was disgusting, and it just happen to be directly above where I get the vent air every night! They quickly got to work, and when they started the sanitizer and deodorizer, my lungs said "Well, hellooooo, so happy to meet you!" What truly impressed me beyond words (well, not really) was when I offered a $20 bill to David to split with Lance. I ALWAYS tip above and beyond service. He flatly refused, I wasn't about to accept that, but in the end, I had to. David told me he was only doing his job and he wouldn't feel right accepting the tip. Indoor Air Specialist came today to clean our units. I had them come out after discovering that we had mold on the inside of our air vents in our bedroom. I called Indoor Air Specialist on a whim, simply because they had good reviews on Groupon. They arrived today-- the time window was 1-4pm and they called at 12:40 to tell me they were on their way. David and his assistant did an inspection, let us know that was going on and actually had me come up into the attic to show me. They were very educational on what needed to be done and there was no up-selling. Simple facts about they system itself, how it worked, etc. They got right to work, covering the ground/furniture with tarps below the room vents, as well bleaching the covers themselves. They were courteous, professional, very reasonable both in cost and work. Above all polite and timely, a Christian company who gave us a Military Veteran discount. Total A++ work! read more

This place is awesome! Chris and Jackson came on time to our house. They truly did a thorough cleaning and made sure to give us an estimate of price beforehand. I have never seen anyone do as thorough of a cleaning on an old place like ours - they cleaned out about 40 years worth of lint in our dryer! Chris and Jackson also taught us a lot about what to do to keep our air ducts clean. This includes how often to change air conditioning filters, how our dryer piping system works, etc. They are extremely professional and nice, and brought all of their equipment needed with them. Really pleased with these guys! Our dryer was taking forever to dry clothes and when the appliance repair person found nothing wrong with the dryer itself, he suggested having the vent cleaned. I called James for a quote and while he said it can range based on a variety of factors, it wouldn't be more than $100. That was less than the other quote I received so I decided to schedule with them. He was able to come out 3 days after my initial call. James and Lee were courteous and professional. They cleaned the vent and even vacuumed behind and under the dryer. At the end of the appointment I could see all of the lint they had cleaned out (gross) and they showed me how to tell when the vent needs to be cleaned in the future. And of course, best of all, the dryer is working efficiently again. The total cost ended up being $70. Would definitely use them again. read more

Warning!!! Do not use this company!! I paid 750$ for them to spend only 2 hours cleaning our system. Mold was found in our HVAC system and they cleaned the mold and sprayed cleaning products while our vents were open! So basically they spread mold spores all over our house. I was concerned about our air vents in our rooms and asked the technician to check the inside one of my vents. Mold was all inside the vent. He cleaned it, but didn't bother to check any other vents. I'm no professional mold cleaner, but I didn't feel comfortable with the fact that he didn't check any of the other vents. They didn't even change our air filters! Just left the moldy filters! I personally took down my other vents and found mold in all of them! My allergies started to get worse immediately after they left so I knew something wasn't right. I started doing research and learned you need to hire a NADCA certified company to remove mold. All of the vents should of been removed and cleaned and covered while cleaning our system so the mold doesn't spread all over our house! We immediately went to a hotel and The next company we hired to do it the right way spent 2 days cleaning our system. The convenience of having them in and out in 2 hours is not worth your health! After visit dryer still took way too long to dry and gave a clogged vent signal. Called James the owner who quickly put me in contact with Chris to come out again two days later and quickly discovered the roof vent was completely clogged that they failed to clean the first time.
