I love cheese. Their Ladysmith w/ chives is my favorite. I recently had a stay-cation in Skagit. I…read morehad tried a few different cheeses they create from various farmers markets and my csa carries a few as well. You must make the relaxing trip to their shop. Bring a cooler as you're going to buy a lot. The shop carries a lot of great products like wine, meat, soup bones, phenomenal salami and of course cheese. I loved it so much, I made a second trip just before heading back to Seattle. As much as I love a quick jaunt from Seattle, they do sell their products at two of Seattle's largest farmers markets and you can place orders online. The Gouda is next level!!! Run don't walk. This place will knock your socks off.

A variety of pantry items are also available to pair with one's fresh purchase. Support of local products is evident and appreciated. Cider and wine can be purchased to compliment cheese and crackers. Cheese can be purchased in pre-weighed rounds or by the ounce. I purchased the Queso Diablo, Basil Ladysmith and Dill cheese along with some crackers. Service was friendly. It would have been helpful choosing if samples were available.

You arrive at…read morewhat looks, like an abandoned train yard, cross the tracks, and suddenly.....there it is. The Taylor Shellfish Samish Oyster Bar. It's not a restaurant in the traditional sense; it's more of a landscape. We had dozens of fresh west coast oysters, smoked oysters, shrimp, crab, beer, and....a view that made this an unforgettable experience. If you're looking for a place that celebrates the food rather than the performance, this is it. Go for the oysters, stay for the silence, and leave knowing exactly where your food came from. Food (5/5): Everything was outstanding. I'm not even a fan of smoked oysters but these were prepared in a way that made them truly amazing. Customer Service (4.5/5): The staff were friendly and readily available. Price (Est. $60/person): It is easy to lose track of the final bill when the food is this good and you keep the orders coming, but expect to spend around $60 per person. Decor/View (4.5/5): The outdoor setting is perfect, especially on a clear nice day, providing an unmatched view of the water.

There's no shade, I think I could see people getting sunburnt in the hour that I was there. I ordered a dozen shucker's choice oysters and received an assortment of 3 different types. It's pretty amazing the difference in taste across the different oysters. They were great! Super fresh and served with a couple wedges of lemon and mignonette. A little different than the way they're served on the opposite coast (typically lemon, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and mignonette. Several of the oysters were pretty large and took some chewing to get through. I paired them with a nice glass of gruner veltliner. Great spot, I'd definitely return.

We headed over for dinner to celebrate a special occasion, and we were glad we'd made a reservation because the place was packed! The ambiance here is dark and elegant - not something I necessarily expect in Anacortes, but it set the perfect tone for a special evening. Our server, Aimee, who I knew from local Yelp events years ago, was absolutely fantastic. She knew everything on the menu, and by the time she described everything we asked about, we had trouble not ordering it all. But first, we started with a bottle of perfectly chilled sauv blanc while we perused the menu. I was impressed by the varied selection of food. They have everything from burgers to ribeye, and all very fairly priced. We started with an order of calamari, perfectly fried and served with a citrussy, aioli-style sauce. For dinner, Dude loved their fish 'n chips while I devoured a plate of fresh king salmon served atop crispy risotto and the most amazing pesto lemon cream sauce. After we enjoyed sharing a dish of tasty creme brulee, Aimee shared that they serve brunch here too! I had no idea, but looking at the menu and hearing that they serve mimosas, we'll definitely be back. We also got a mini tour of their adorable speakeasy style bar and huge in-progress beer garden too. I'm definitely keeping Tasha Lee's on my Anacortes rotation!
