This place is awesome! I was originally taken back when I first saw their prices and realized that they were located quite further than many other cheaper Horror Houses near me -- luckily my friend was able to talk me into going! My friend and I went on a Friday night, arriving around 7:30/8PM. We originally just paid for the regular tickets and parking. After we walked in and saw the first line... we realized that we were not going to be able to visit all of the attractions as the lines were far too long. We purhcased the fast passes, and although they are expensive, they are completely worth it and we both had an absolute blast! The park has 5-6 different attractions that are including in the fast-pass and they have a few more that are not included, but can be purchased seperately. I had a blast last weekend at Indy Scream Park, however I probably won't be back every year. I don't typically go to haunted houses. If I want to be scared, I'll walk down east 42nd at night. Indy scream is more fun than scary. Indy Scream has 5 haunting experiences, food, a few games, classic scary characters, and alcohol. All good, but the whole experience is pretty expensive for a family. Lines are long, unless you buy the fast pass ticket which costs more. I would not have had a lot of fun if I didn't have the fast pass. Parking has a fee. Beers are expensive, but large. If you don't mind long lines or if you don't mind ponying up some cash for a different experience then I recommend a night out at Indy Scream park. read more

Haunted houses are part of a family tradition we take part of every spooky season and we decided to give Indy Scream Park another try this year. To start, some high points are the offerings throughout the midway and overall vibe of the area. It was very easy to find food and drinks and the map of the entire park was greatly appreciated. I would say that my favorite attractions were Blackout and Backwoods. Getting into the park was quick and easy. On another note, there are a lot of areas that Indy Scream Park has vast room for improvement. The first being lines. I understand longer lines as the season progresses and more people attend, but it almost felt that they were trying to hide the actual length of the line by either putting multiple winding lines inside and outside of the building or by hiding it with trees. You really won't know how long the line is until you're halfway through it. I think it would be a great idea to at least put an estimate of wait time similar to how amusement parks do so you understand how long you will be waiting. We arrived around 7:30 PM and waited at least 40 minutes (if not longer) for each attraction. To surpass this wait, you can buy VIP, which doubles the price of your ticket. My last review highlighted the fact that it feels like they are understaffed and I still stand by this statement. There were only a few moments that I felt scared. Through attractions you can expect to be met by either animatronics or performers that simply just speak/act - I was shocked at the lack of jump scares with the amount of opportunities present. This was especially apparent through the attractions that offer glow necklaces as they are 'interactive.' If you don't wear one of these, the actors will basically ignore you altogether. For the amount of money, I wouldn't say this is really worth it. I am typically pretty scared at haunted houses, and I'd say about 2 out of 5 truly scared me throughout the entire attraction. The lines were all pretty long. Parking is in a big field, which they have people directing you where to park. Its a bit of a hike to get from the parking area to the entrance of the scream park. Last time I was at Indy scream park I was 17! And boy did Indy scream park look a little different back then. I remember when it was just a couple of fire pits and picnic tables in the main hub area, now they have these awesome covered seating areas, fire pits, lots of food and drink options, and more. It looks really nice. The haunted trails overall were really fun. My favorite was the zombie one out in the field! A couple things to note, parking is $7 (used to be free) and food is a little pricier. This is one of the highlights of fall for me! I've been going here since high school and always have such a fun time. I love Halloween and all things spooky, so I am always so excited to come back. My favorite attraction from the last two years I've gone is definitely the "Backwoods" one! Each one of fairly unique and the actors really get into it which makes the experience so fun. The 5 main attractions are included with cost of admission. I recommend getting a VIP pass to skip the longer lines if you want! They have a new attraction this year called "Zombie Paintball Assault" where they load you up on a bus and take you into the "Red Zone" where you get to shoot paintballs at zombies. I definitely think this one is worth the extra fee to participate! They have the midway area with plenty of food + drinks options and a bonfire to chill in between attractions. We went early (before it was dark when most the attractions open) to enjoy a beer and a funnel cake first. This would be such a fun idea for a date night or to go with a group of friends! read more

My son had a lot of fun, but I wish there was a non-participant price for parents to hang out. Haunted houses just aren't my thing, I enjoyed hanging out with the parents of my kids' teammates around the fire. A $15 ticket to be there and a separate price for entrance into the other stuff would be nice. I would have bought snacks and drinks if I hadn't already spent $100. First the good: the beer garden is very well done and they had a handful of what looked like off duty police officers throughout the venue so it felt safe and secure. Now, the not so good... Hard to believe this is rated #1 in the country. If so, the state of the haunted house industry must be in poor shape. The park is only open for 6 hours so if you go on a Friday or Saturday you will be lucky if you get through 3 attractions in that time with a General Admission ticket. We waited in line for just over two hours for one attraction and made the painful decision ($45 additional PER person) to upgrade to a VIP pass in a desperate attempt to see all attractions before they closed. That is $180 (total ticket costs) I wish I had back. Truth is, the whole experience is severely underwhelming for the price you pay. The actors they do have are very very good. There's just not enough of them. Case in point: the Back Woods attraction. 85 to 90% of your time is navigating a dark (but appropriately lit) path through the woods. So much scare potential seems wasted. And save the Mutation attraction for last or skip it altogether. We spent 2+ hours in line for this before the fateful decision was made to upgrade to VIP passes. It was BY FAR the most underwhelming attraction. Implementing a lower price point and figuring out how to move more people through each attraction more efficiently would do worlds of good. Watching the feeling of resignation appear on people's faces after standing in line for over two hours for low bang for the buck scares should be the new attraction. read more

My second year at Indy Scream Park and I loved just as much as the first! We went on a Saturday night (10/27) and surprisingly the ticket line wasn't as bad as we expected. Our first house was the Pandemic Mutation which was an interactive haunt. It was a good choice for our first house. It got our heart rates up for sure. Our second house was the Rage haunt, it was my absolute FAVORITE! It was so cool you got to wear 3D glasses and the house was painted in bright neon colors with a circus theme. So you had the walls AND the actors jumping out at you. I definitely wanted to go back thru this house. Our third house was the Asylum, it was the same from last year so I wasn't really scared or frightened by it. The actors weren't very convincing either. However, I still enjoyed it. Out of the outside attractions my favorite had to be the Backwoods. I went through it last year and I don't remember it being as scary as it was. Maybe because we were in the back? Idk but I was TERRIFIED. It was pitch black and we were in the very back of the group. Just when you thought you weren't going to be spooked someone popped up behind you or you heard a chainsaw coming after you. Whew! it was definitely a good scare. After we went through all of the houses we ordered a deep fried twinkie and enjoyed some smores with hot apple cider. It was a good time watching everyone around us have a good time. Update from 4 years ago. Aww I won't be back and I won't recommend. First standing in line for an hour on big ass rocks was a deal breaker for me. Second the fact that they have fast passes & VIP slows the line down drastically. Lastly we tried to make it to the last attraction ( the clowns) and was abruptly told by police that the park was closed it was 10:38pm. I was not happy about that, with the cost of the tickets you should be able to visit all attractions. So tonight 10/13/22 my legs are sore and my account is $106 less. It gets better every year. I have been going multiple times a year for several years now. It is not for small children. Parking is free. Mask rule is enforced for employees and patrons. They have 5 different attractions and the monster midway. They serve food and beverages but are a little over priced. It is not for small kiddos or those with health conditions. Lots of jump scares! We went as soon as they opened and did the inside ones. By the time we were done it was dark enough for the outside ones. Holy Moly! I love how much there is to do here! You have two options for tickets. You can buy a general admission for around $40 or you can buy a VIP Fast Pass for around $50. Both tickets get you into all attractions. There is an additional $5 charge for parking. Once inside the gate, there is a midway which has a large central seating area with bonfire and then around the outside is a few carnival games, port-a-pots, paint ball, and refreshments. Attractions: There are a total of 5 attractions. Three indoor and two outdoor. The three indoor open at 7p. They are the Asylum, 3D and Pandemic. For the 3D, you were 3D glasses. My least favorite of these was the asylum. The acting was mediocre and not much was scary. They had music playing and long lulls where nothing was happening. Most of the time spent through here I was just joking around with the actors (which I never do, bc I'm genuinely terrified). The 3D was really neat, but there's a part that may make you sick. Even if 3D typically makes you sick, wear the glasses. The spinning part will make you sick without them. The pandemic part was neat, but not totally scary. It was in the middle of the 3 as far as scare-dom. Hint: If you like being scared, definitely wear the glow necklace! Around 8:30p (pitch dark) the two outdoor attractions open. If you're in the midway area at the time, you'll know because the Zombies come running out with chainsaws for Zombieland and then about 10 min later the Back Woods crew does some sort of satanic ritual thing. Zombieland was cool, but it seemed really short. The end of it is just a maze that keeps going around in circles. My favorite of the whole night was Back Woods. IT IS TERRIFYING!!! Not only is most of it in the pitch black woods, but it is by far the longest route. We thought we'd never get out of there. The acting was pretty good and they have a lot of mannequins, so you never know what dark figure in the woods is real or fake. I haven't been to a haunted attraction for about 15 years because I don't like scary things. Thinking about this night had me in a panic for a week. But I'm really glad I went. It was a thrill. From screaming all night, I had no voice the next morning. That's how you know it was good! read more

Not the friendliest with those of us with disabilities. I'm a type 1 diabetic (if you don't know the difference google it- aka I didn't do anything that caused me to get it). I was in like and my blood sugars went low (if untreated it can result in a seizure). I got out of line to treat it. Per doctors order and the rule of thumb, you have to wait at least 15 minutes to re check and see if it's gone up. The sad thing is that I was close to the front of the line. I went over to a ticket booth and asked if they had anything for these situations. Long story short, the only way to get back in line is to hope your group of friends are still in line and you join them or go up to the person in charge of letting people in and tell them what happened...no promise that they'll let you in. Please have procedures for all of us that have a disabilities and don't exclude those of us with an invisible disability. We are still covered under ADA guidelines. Indy Scream Park was an awesome experience! My boyfriend and I attended their venue for the first time on 9/30 and it was a great adventure. The Monster Midway was full of food, drinks, carnival games, and roaming actors and included plenty of seating and fire pits, a great place to hang out between haunts and grab a drink. We ventured into the indoor haunts first and waited around 10-15minutes with VIP passes. The VIP tickets made it worth it because the lines in most cases were very long. The first haunt was interactive but we decided to see how it went before fully committing. I can't say for sure what the theme was but it was a great start to the evening. The second haunt was one of my favorites and required 3D glasses, which was totally cool and exciting! Glow paint and black lights were everywhere and it was like a psycho circus! Sadly, it was not interactive, but the ending made up for it with creepy illusions and hidden clowns! The third haunt was a forgotten asylum with patients running lose! The special effects were killer complete with a terrifying electrocution! Before heading to the outdoor haunts we grabbed a drink and interacted with some "patients" outside. Teens were running around everywhere. Zombieland Unchained opened right as we walked up yet there was still a little wait for VIPs, probably 10minutes. This was interactive and my boyfriend opted in to become part of the show! This was probably the most intense of the haunts for me as he was taken from our group of four several times and reappeared in the weirdest places. The characters were awesome and I felt like I was in a horror movies. I had hoped to save the best for last but Backwoods didn't exactly live up to my expectations. The woods were extremely dark and but it was long walk between scares with some jump scares between. The closer to the end the more intense it become. We have always enjoyed this haunt but this year it was a huge let down. They advertise $5 off if you purchase your tickets online but we paid the same price online as posted at the box office. The huge rocks you walk on everywhere are torture in the feet and body and the few larger rocks strewn about are a huge fall hazard. The park opens at 8:00 but we stood in line almost 45 minutes before they were even set up for us to walk through and it was a short line. The wait to get into the haunts were at least 30-45 minutes each even with short lines. Backwoods was so dark this year that you couldn't see most of the characters or decorations and over the first half was the characters asking to be your sugar mama which just seemed weird. Maybe because they were playing off of each other and they just opened but whatever, it was just laughable and not scary at all. The Zombie haunt was super dark too and just not scary. The best was Kilgore's Circus but that was just because of the effects and a couple good actors. The ropes and cement filled buckets were like a mile long and too narrow leading up to the three back haunts so that you tripped constantly and seemed like ridiculously long walks when the lines were so short. They didn't even sanitize the 3-D glasses at all so they were smudged and gross when they give them to you and a couple of the staff at the doors were just weird and rude this year. On a great note the characters walking around and scaring people around the picnic tables and non fires were super cool and we had fun taking pictures with them. They all seemed like they have been here for years and I'm pretty sure a few have been. All in all I think this one has become a cool place for teens or a cool place to drop your teens off to while you go to other haunts. We will probably skip this one next year. Which is sad because we have usually gone twice a season here. The $7 cash for parking and the ticket prices just aren't worth what you get. The smoking and vaping in lines is annoying and needs to be monitored better but I will say when staff did say something to people they were blunt and effective at stopping it. The bathrooms were clean and the fire pit and community area was nice and clean as always. Just sad that the haunt attractions were a dud because this place used to be one of our favorites. My friend and I got to experience the scream park last night and it was scar-tastic (haha). We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a blast. The scream park is kind of far from Butler but it was a nice drive. When pulling up to the park, it's kind of creepy and sets the mood because you have to drive in back roads. Parking was $5 and it was on either gravel or grass. We got there early to get our VIP passes and waited until the park opened at 7! Once inside, we walked to the 3 attractions that were open and located in a building. We started at the asylum and headed to rage, then to the pandemic mutation. The asylum was definitely the scariest and rage was so cool with the 3D effects. After we went outside and waited in the midway until we could go to the other two attractions! This was cool because we got to hang out and mingle with other Yelpers! There is some food and beverages available as well. We then headed to the zombie house and it was scary. This was probably my favorite one because the set was so cool and they did an awesome job of scaring me. We finally went to the backwoods which was also good but we have an annoying group following us which kind of ruined the scary mood. All in all, the scream park is a great way to get in the fall mood. With lots of screaming, and crazy people-it's well worth the drive! Just FYI-this was an elite event I attended. read more

This was an absolute blast the actors where amazing scared the hell out of me! They put me in a body bag and zipped me up if you do the interactive part it's the best and worth every penny! Have to be 18+ to do the interactive. The lines are long and you have no place to sit and you stand in line for 45 min just to be out in five min but like I said before it's worth it. If you want to get past that get there earlier and get in line for the one you really want to get in the most! The doll who walks around super creepy and she does back bends. We went on a week day so it was not very crowded. There is plenty of parking. When you first go in they have people already dressed up trying to scary you. I was quite frightened when I had the opportunity to check out Indy Scream Park. It did not disappoint. All 5 Haunts were scary and unique. We had the VIP pass and honestly I think the extra was worth it. Since we didn't have to wait in the lines, my fear level stayed high the whole time. I barely had time to calm down from one before we were in the next. Oh and don't think you are safe in the Monster Midway either... the wandering actors will creep up behind you. The whole atmosphere makes for a fun scary experience. I think I particularly love the monster midway, it was a little rainy on the night we went but on a dry crisp fall night it would have been fun to hang out longer and enjoy the bonfires between the haunts. read more

The last time I reviewed Indy Scream Park was four years ago, which seems crazy to me! So I finally went back this year and was quite pleased. We went on a Sunday night and let me tell you, that was the time to go. There were hardly any lines at the attractions .. and I know the last time I went was a Friday or Saturday night and it was packed. So yes, we were able to zip through the lines on a Sunday night. This allowed you to not feel worried that you wouldn't make it to all the attractions. My biggest complaint is that they also make you pay for parking. I think that's a bit much considering you're already spending a decent amount for the ticket itself. But .. I got over it pretty quickly. Back to the park - it's truly a great time! Everyone needs a good scare every now and then. :) The group I was with was a fun and energetic bunch, so that was a bonus. I'll be back! read more

Gotta say this was way better than expected. Thanks to Yelp my girlfriend and I enjoyed vip tickets, and experienced all the haunted houses. This year's headlining theme was the clown themed haunted house and they really carried the theme throughout the park. There's a large seating area with firepits and plenty of things to eat and drink. There were even a few carnival games if you wanted to test your luck. Beer, hot cider, and standard sodas were available, as well as pretty substantial food choices. Could easily have dinner in the park and not worry about going hungry. The actors were enthusiastic and really did a great job scaring my girlfriend and her sister. If all the houses change each year, I'll definitely be back again. read more

I reallllly don't like haunted houses but I was roped into this one. I have to admit, with the fire pits in the midway and the string lights, it is very cute. They offered mini s'more kits for purchase which was a nice touch. We visited all 5 attractions. With the fast pass, the wait was minimal. The back woods haunt was almost cute with the dimly lit walkways through the forest, minus the chainsaws being revved up in your direction. They seem to put a lot of effort into creating each "haunt" and the actors seem to be enjoying themselves as well. Beer is not cheap $8 for 16oz Budlight. read more

Indy Scream Park is so much fun! I recommend it to anyone in South-Central IN who likes a good scare. I went with my partner recently for a Yelp event and we loved the place. Luckily we had fast passes, however, since it is a very popular spot. The park has 5 haunts; two of which were outside and didn't open up until Sundown. Several of the haunts also had an optional participation feature where the actors could grab you and such. We did not opt in for this but we saw others have fun with it. My favorite haunt was the Backwoods one (it was also a full out hike which was so cool), definitely felt realistic. I also love the Monster Midway which is filled with food, drink and fair game options as well as several huge bonfire pits to warm your hands and feet at. My fiance took me to Indy Scream Park last night. My first time being there I was excited. The excitement didn't last long. Even from the parking lot the experience sucked. He is a disabled veteran and they parked us 1/2 mile away even though there were empty spots closer. We went inside and started the experience outside with the Backwoods. It was so lame. Muddy and dark. Not hardly any actors out there. Really just a waste of time and just asking for an accident. We continued to next outdoor event then to the closest indoor one. The one was just dark, no actors, just dark. Boring. When we came out of 2nd indoor one they closed off the last one. They refused to let an Afro-American family in just before us. The father was visibly upset as well as his children. We were told to go to "customer service ". We went and the man in the window was rude and dismissive to my fiance. I know my man was on his "best behavior". He is a combat vet and I know he was upset. The man in the window told him it was too bad and if we weren't in line by 10:30 it was our fault because the lines weren't long. Go read Google reviews! Many say the same thing about going and not having enough time to finish! So the worst part was when I started to complain and the man said he didn't want to hear from me and closed the window in our faces. We started walking away because my man was so good, keeping his cool. The crazy man came out with another guy screaming we were trespassing! To summarize my upcoming paragraph; expensive, not scary, not worth the money. Unfortunately this year just didn't deliver. No new attractions included with admission, they do have a zombie paintball at an additional cost. Very little, if any, enforcement of covid protection procedures. Also, no one monitored the parking lot and my car was vandalized while I was in the park. This end-of-season bonus pay is an incentive for good attendance and an attempt to reign in ISP's awful employee retention rate - perhaps because an hour's minimum wage in Indiana can barely purchase a bag of cough drops, but I digress. I took time off for my birthday and my father's and ONE day off to rest on a weekday so I could scream all Halloween weekend. Yet, at $7.25/hr, Todd seems to not want to explain why my bonus was never paid out. Perhaps because his retention is so bad no one takes notice. I still notice. Why am I not owed an explanation? Overall an entertaining experience... But not all for good reasons. First two attractions were fun. It was my two youngest sisters first time in a haunted house and we were very excited to take them. As we were going through nightmare, the last indoor attraction, I was approached by many actors. All but one did a decent job. The man in question approached and said "I can smell the innocence on you!" Laughing I replied "You obviously don't know me!" and I kept walking. He turned around and said "what did you say, swine?" Now I have worked in haunted houses for five years. I know the abusive back and forth is all in the fun. But this guy took it a little too far. He is now following me through the haunt. Screaming in my ears and he was so close he spit on my face. I asked him nicely to back up because he did indeed spit on me. He demanded me to be silent. Still in character. And again called me a swine. Now he is even closer I can feel his spit hitting my face and hair. After asking him twice more to back off I lost my temper and told him to get the hell out of my face. He said and I quote "Shut your fucking mouth you long swine!" At this point in time I am furious and trying to keep sane to keep my 14 year old sisters calm and not worry them about the situation. My boyfriend gets involved after I for the tenth time tell this man to back off. After some debates and name calling this individual claims himself to be the haunt manager and says he will have us thrown out. My sisters are now very upset and I am hurrying them out but the attraction has lost our interest. No longer entertainment but almost threatening. After exiting the actor pointed us out to the police on scene. After explaining what happened they agreed the man was far too aggressive and should have backed off after I requested the first time. My boyfriend paid $100 for the four of us to have fun at five attractions. But only four were any fun. This will not deter me from returning next year but it will make me wary of nightmar for sure. This situation was extremely unprofessional and quite frankly the worst behavior I have seen in my five years of working haunts and my 12 of attending them. read more

I have seen some outstanding haunted attractions and I've seen some horrible ones. Unfortunately, this one falls to the side of horrible. I went on the Saturday after Halloween, the last night of operations. I thought the midway was ok and the paint ball zombies was definitely the highlight of the night. It's always fun to shoot real people with paintballs and for $5 for $25 shots, that's not bad. It's too bad that this is the best part of the attractions. The two outdoor haunts are horrible. The wooded haunt (Backwoods) is laid out poorly and is a long way from one are to the other with nothing to see or make you feel uneasy in between other than being in the woods at night. The other outdoor attraction (Infected) had us walk through a corn field from one tent to another. It was a cohesive theme of army tents initially until we made it to the house which would have for better inside of backwoods. 0 scares in either. The indoor haunts suffered from being too open and didn't make me feel uneasy at all. The asylum had very large hallways and ceilings. There was nothing but writing on the wall on between. The rooms were huge and did not have any pop outs or anything. The best one was Bedlam 3d. The painting inside was excellent. Overall they don't seem to know the recipe for horror: build anticipation, distract and scare. They failed to do all of that. I'm also disappointed that with as much as tickets are, they had some horribly built props that looked horribly fake, especially the cheap homemade pneumatics. Best one was in the 3d haunt but as someone else said, because our group caught up with the previous group, I saw everything before we got to it :( read more
