Our 20-year-old SunPower system experienced an inverter failure (SPR-3200). Most of the advertised SunPower "repair" contractors we contacted seemed more focused on selling a complete system replacement--including roof tear-out and battery backup--rather than offering practical repair options. With our NEM-1 ending in July 2026 and NEM-3 beginning in August, we wanted to explore all viable options. Infinium Solar sales, Jacob Sleep, offered a compatible inverter solution over the phone and the first and only to conduct a thorough on-site inspection of our aging system. Infinium recommended a 5kW inverter (10-year warranty) compatible with our positive-ground SunPower 18-panel array (SPR-220), along with a 15kWh FranklinWH battery (15-year warranty) to prepare for the NEM-3 transition. He also presented an option to upgrade to 12 REC Alpha Pure-RX 460 panels (25-year warranty) but importantly noted that our existing panels appear to be in good condition and could continue performing well beyond their 25-year warranty. That honesty was appreciated. After inspecting our UniRac rails and mounts, Jacob confirmed a full tear-out was unnecessary. He explained that the REC panels could be installed on the existing rails, though a few inches of rail would extend beyond the panel edges. Unlike other contractors, Infinium provided four clear, well-explained options: 1. Replace the failed inverter and upgrade wiring with rapid shutdown devices for the existing panels. 2. Add a 15kWh Franklin battery to the above setup. 3. Install a 15kWh Franklin aPower S hybrid battery/inverter system with required wiring upgrades for the existing panels. 4. Fully modernize the system with a Franklin aPower S hybrid battery/inverter, MAC and meter collar, and 12 REC Alpha Pure-RX 460 panels-- utilizing the existing rails. We chose option 4 to upgrade our solar system with battery back-up. We appreciate Infinium's responsiveness, practical approach, transparency, and willingness to present multiple solutions rather than pushing a full system replacement. Infinium's thorough evaluation and honest recommendations made a complex decision much easier - especially in the absence of the 30% federal tax credit. When we installed our SunPower system 25 years ago the timeline from signed contract to final install was less than 6 weeks including San Jose inspections. We were very dismayed at the current solar system installation timeline. Contract signed June 19th, System operational on September 8th. The Infinium technicians were very adept and efficient - no time wasted. Using the existing conduits, racks, mounts, etc. made the task a lot easier. Stephanie Jacques, the Operations scheduler, advised, guided and followed up with us on the schedule. Everything dealing with the removal, installation and final sign-off seemed to revolve around her. Our timeline was as follows: 06/18/2026 Initial contact with Infinium via phone call/web inquiry 06/18/2026 Same day, sales, Jacob Sleep, inspected our 25-year-old SunPower system 06/19/2026 Contract signed, deposit sent 06/22/2026 Project administrator assigned, conveyed that we wanted the system ASAP 07/07/2026 SunPower system removal - took less than 2.5 hours 07/08/2026 Site survey - photos taken of proposed battery location and current solar layout 07/10/2026 Stucco repaired where inverter, shutoff boxes located. Not great work, had a stucco contractor tidy it up. 07/14/2026 Design phase - 10 days? Existing system! I asked for it to be expedited 07/20/2026 Signed off design 08/12/2026 REC-460 panels installed, overhanging rails cut, PV wiring routed through existing conduit 08/19/2026 FranklinWH aPower S, battery bracket (city) inspection and installation. System is fully installed - PG&E needs to install the meter socket adapter (MSA) - a 10 day window! Also, after PG&E installs the MSA, then the battery comes online and is commissioned by an Infinium tech and final city inspection. 08/28/2026 PG&E installed the MSA 09/08/2026 Inspection scheduled 6-8 weeks ago. FINALLY! We have solar power again! Note: Unfortunately, the city supervisor came out and asked a lot of questions. Dimitri, Infinium battery commissioning guru, patiently answered all the questions. Generally, a 5-10 minute inspection turned into a greater than 30-minute questions and answers session. Bottom Line: Would I use Infinium again? Very likely. The process took longer than expected, but most of that was tied to design, permitting, PG&E, and city inspections. # Extremely Disappointing Experience with Infinium Solar -- Poor Communication and Project Management I am a property manager, and I chose Infinium Solar for a newly built ADU solar project. Unfortunately, my experience with them was extremely disappointing. If you value your time and want to avoid unnecessary stress managing your own solar project, I would not recommend using Infinium Solar. ## Initial Experience The sales process was positive. Marcia from sales was responsive, provided different options quickly, and was easy to work with. We chose Infinium Solar because of their good reviews, our positive experience with Marcia, and pricing that was approximately 5% lower than other companies we contacted. Unfortunately, after the project was handed over to project manager Dai Danh, the experience changed significantly. ## Communication Communication became one of the biggest issues. After the initial site visit, there were revisions to the plan, but we had to repeatedly follow up to receive updated plans and pricing. For example, Infinium Solar recommended that our roofer waterproof the mounting anchors to preserve the roof warranty. We needed anchor specifications and quantities to obtain a quote from our roofer, but despite multiple people being copied on the emails, we waited several days for this information. Throughout the project, we constantly had to ask for timelines, status updates, and next steps. Instead of proactive communication, we had to chase Infinium Solar for answers. ## Project Management Issues As a property manager, I understand construction projects are complicated and issues happen. However, the purpose of hiring a professional contractor is to manage those issues. Unfortunately, I felt that I ended up managing the project for Infinium Solar. The clearest example was the roof mounting anchors. Based on Infinium Solar's specifications, my roofer ordered the required anchors. However, Infinium Solar also ordered and installed anchors themselves -- and the anchors they installed were the wrong ones. They eventually asked my roofer to bring the correct anchors for reinstallation. The frustrating part was that my roofer and I had the correct anchors based on Infinium Solar's own specifications, while Infinium Solar did not. The anchor count also changed multiple times (34 50 56), causing additional cost and delays. There was supposed to be a $100/mount deduction because my roofer handled the mounting and waterproofing, but I had to repeatedly follow up before receiving updated pricing. The battery installation was another major issue. The battery location recommended by Infinium Solar was approved by the city but rejected by the fire department during inspection. This required relocating the battery and caused weeks of delay. The relocation also damaged the wall. Infinium Solar initially did not clearly take responsibility for the repair until I informed them my GC would complete the repair and bill them directly. At that point, I had already lost confidence in their work and used my own GC to ensure the repair quality. The timeline was also disappointing. Before signing, we were told there would not be delays after permit approval. However, there was a five-week gap between permit approval and panel installation, even though the installation itself only took one day. ## Billing and Quality Issues The project pricing changed multiple times. While some changes were expected, the anchor-related pricing was poorly managed. Infinium Solar provided incorrect deductions based on outdated anchor quantities, and I had to provide their own previous emails to show the correct count. I also discovered multiple versions of the CAD drawings, and the latest CAD did not reflect the correct anchor quantity. Even after discussing the correct amount with project management, the billing department still sent an incorrect invoice. The installation team also damaged our roof during installation, requiring my roofer to repair the roof membrane afterward. Infinium Solar did pay for the repair, but this should not have happened. ## Lack of Ownership The biggest issue throughout this project was the lack of ownership. After signing the contract, it felt like the level of attention and care significantly decreased. There were repeated examples of internal miscommunication: * Incorrect anchor information * Wrong anchors installed * Incorrect billing * Conflicting instructions from different teams I frequently had to identify problems, coordinate between parties, provide documentation, and push for solutions. Alvin was very helpful in advising me about updating my PV system, installed in 2020. I needed to deal with my expiring communication with SolarEdge monitoring, and I wanted to check the condition of my back-up battery, because I had received a rather puzzling rebate offer from LG if I returned it to them. Initially he thought I might need a new communication board ($$), and possibly a new battery ($$$), but in the end I learned that fortunately all I had to do was renew my cell plan. Alvin asked me what the warranty was on the battery, which was surprising, given that his company had sold it to me. I had to consult LG to get the answer. Alvin absolutely did his best, but I felt that he had trouble getting the correct answers from his technical team. The entire process could have been handled better by both Infinium and SolarEdge. It took several hours of phone calls and emails to solve what was ultimately a simple problem. But Alvin stayed with me patiently throughout the process, and guided me to the right solution. I think Infinium is trying to improve its customer service. Last spring, when I had my roof replaced, their internal communication was poor, and more than one person contacted me to say they were my project coordinator. read more

I did quite a bit of research before choosing a solar company. I got multiple bids and talked with a number of charismatic individuals. It all started with AT. I think he was the only sales rep I spoke to who arrived in an electric car and actually had solar panels on his own house. He was extremely knowledgeable and had great answers to all my questions. While Infinium was not the least expensive bid I had, I truly believed they were my best option, and I'm happy to say I made the right choice. Everything they quoted happened when they said it would and with no effort on my part. I also need to shout out Alejandro for being the most competent electrician I have ever met. I'm a curious person by nature, and Alejandro answered all of my questions with patience and absolute authority. Once the panels were installed, Alejandro and Rudy (also great) took time to hook everything up. Nothing wash rushed and they did everything the way it was supposed to be done. I waited to post a review because I wanted the final inspection to be done, and I wanted to make sure I could review the entire process, not just the midway point. I should also give a big thanks to Ji, who picked up my calls more than a few times to help me out with things (I probably called to check in too much, but he was always great). There were some very minor issues (I was woken up early because of a scheduling mishap), but Infinium delivered in every meaningful way I could have hoped. Infinium had excellent communication through the entire process (they always picked up the phone), they were consummate professionals through the entire process, and I simply cannot recommend them enough to anyone that will hear me gush about my wonderful experience. I highly recommend infinium solar if you are looking to install solar! Our job was a bit more complicated as it included installing two Tesla batteries, and also trenching to include power at our driveway for an electric vehicle. The layout of our house made it a little bit complicated regarding how to get the power from the Tesla battery over to the main electrical panel. All I can say is that infinium handled all of this with grace. They worked hard to find solutions to all of these issues and difficulties, and they have an amazing supportive team that kept the project moving quickly and efficiently. I want mention some of the names of their team who were especially helpful: Dai, Franco, Ernesto, and Jobani. There is also one other person that helped us significantly with electrical calculations. I can't remember his name, but I know he sits at the desk across from Dai. Our system has been up and running for a few months now and our electric bills have dropped from $500-$600 a month down to $16 a month. We could not be happier! Also, we just got an electric vehicle and are very excited to have it charging up on solar power. Not only did Infinium Solar do an excellent job, but the price was reasonable. We had talked to multiple different solar companies over the past 5-10 years and none seem equipped to take on the complexities of our project. I don't usually leave reviews, but this company definitely deserves one. I had a simple job of removing my solar panels and then replacing them after a roof replacement. I'd recommend going with anyone else and if you can't find someone it might be faster to get a license and just do it yourself. Pros: - The eventually got the job done Cons: - Super slow, a simple removal + reinstall took 6 months - Expensive - Work is shoddy - Needed constant follow ups to get updates on the progress, usually they had not made any progress until asked - Not willing to take ownership when things go wrong First when they removed the panels, they also removed a solar water heater. However they left the pipes to the water heater open and uncapped so the water had to be turned off until I got another contractor to come and close the pipe. The contractor told me they had never seen someone leave a pipe uncapped like that before and it was extremely unprofessional. When it came time to reinstall the panels, I asked them if they had gotten a permit yet. They had not even started the process even though I had gotten requirements to do a permit as part of the initial job. They continued to tell me that a permit was not needed. I had to call the city myself to get verification that a permit was indeed required before getting them to start on the permits. This was 1 month after the start of the job already. Afterwards there was significant back and forth over a couple weeks for them to get all of the information they needed to get a permit. 6 months later they finally get the permit and the reinstall done. After the panels were back up, I checked the power output and the panels had 1/2 the output prior to being taken off. When I asked them about this they gave me a long winded answer to effectively say they weren't going to do anything about it. Ultimately I felt dealing with them any more wasn't worth the effort and closed out the project. read more

I wish I could have written a review on my experience with their work but I couldn't even get a quote. Infinium was recommended to me by a friend who used them to put on a new roof and is now using them to install solar so I included them on a list of 6 companies I reached out to to get a quote for a new roof and consider for solar based on the quality of the roof work. They have a calendar on their website where you can schedule a consultation request which I thought was a very nice touch... except that after scheduling a time and date, I received an email that the roofer was not available and the earliest time he could come was 6 days later. Ok, fine. It is what it is.  I received an email confirmation that confirmed my new time and date with Angelo being my "Infinium Roofing Consultant". That time and date came and went and nobody showed up. Nobody called, texted, or emailed so after 30 minutes of waiting, I called and spoke to Alvin to let them know nobody came at my scheduled day and time. He checked the calendar and confirmed my appointment was scheduled and on the calendar then put me on hold to "make some calls". After a few minutes he got back on and told me their roofer was busy with a final inspection and would not be coming that day and asked to reschedule again for 2 days later. I told him that was fine but since we had already 5 other companies lined up so we might call to cancel if we made a decision beforehand. I again received an email confirmation with my time and date with Angelo again listed as my "roofing consultant". Since it was already scheduled, I decided to keep it even though we had already received 2 quotes by then. Once again on the day of my confirmed appointment, nobody arrived at my scheduled time. However this time I received a text after 5 minutes telling me "Chris the roofer" was running late and on his way with an ETA of 30 minutes (note every single one of the other companies that we contacted arrived early. Some even sitting outside in their cars so they wouldn't be TOO early). When he did arrive, it was not Angelo but someone from an entirely different company which I was not expecting. At no point was I told someone from a completely different company would be coming. Especially since my confirmation email listed Angelo as my roofing consultant and within that same email it states that Infinium does not subcontract. He did apologize for "the other day" and said he'd do his inspection and "get back to me". I never heard back from him. The other companies that came out to do their inspections all sent detailed quotes with photos same day or within 24 hours. After waiting 4 business days (6 days total), we signed a contract with another company. I find it a deceptive practice to claim they don't subcontract when they clearly do. I will not be recommending this company to anyone who asks. read more

We had to call you many times, because we never knew what was going on. It took a year and a half to complete the project, because you called the city only once a week, not reaching anyone, and didn't work to get it taken care of. I was copied on the emails and you often didn't do what the city told you to do causing delays. We are very disappointed. You showed up at our house many times without notice. One time you climbed our roof to unlock our back gate and left it unlocked when you left. We have a camera facing the gate and watched you do it and saw every time you were at our house and didn't tell us you were coming. It was all very unprofessional. I asked to be notified when you were coming, but was not always notified. We need a battery to go with the system, but are afraid to use your company because of this awful experience. read more

I had a red light on my Sunnyboy inverter. Sunnyboy wouldn't help me even though I had put in all my panels and the inverter as I'm not a solar professional. we started with Infinium Solar the end of April. our first full month of solar our PG&E bill electric was under $13. our gas was also low at $70 because we prioritized using electric over gas because we could manage it with our battery backup. the support was tremendous. jiel justo helped us learn the system as I peppered her daily with questions and when I thought something needed fixing she was immediately on it sending Carlos who was great out to the field to investigate. Infinium did a full install on my roof of Maxeon panels and Franklin batteries. I'm very happy with how it turned out overall. Shoutouts to Ennar who drove the electrical and Jiel who helped with support. They were able to coordinate with my roofer to get the solar mounts in before the shingles went in so I could get a great install without having to screw through shingles, which I recommend. Response times and motion were a little slower than would have been ideal at moments.
