Very disappointing. This is for a SINGLE skylight, mind you. Met with Jonathan on September 24, 2025 for him to take a look at my house and get a quote. Followed up on September 29, October 8, 10, 16, 28 and November 6. Finally, on November 8 they responded asking if I wanted it fixed or operable, something I had discussed with Jonathan when he looked at it two months before. That same day (November 8) I signed the work order. On December 8, they scheduled my installation for December 12 between 8-9 a.m. They never showed up and emailed me later that day saying the skylight hasn't come in. I heard a few more excuses about personal issues coming up from December 12-23. On December 30, they advised me that a crew would be there that day. They never showed up and I have not received responses to my three texts since then. I'm not sure if this place shut down, or what went on. Fortunately, I didn't make any payments yet. You might ask why, after all this, I still subjected myself to the non-responsiveness - there aren't that many companies that replace skylights so they have that going for them at least. read more

We had a small roof leak that would leak whenever it rained heavy. I reached out different roofing companies and was disappointed to hear really high quote's that involved replacing the whole section of the roof. My roof is in good condition and I kind of had an idea that those quotes are just ripping me off. I reached out to Kent roofing and was able to get an appointment quickly. Jonathan Kent stopped by to inspect the leak. He was very thorough and he explained all the things to me layman's language (did not confuse me with any of the roofing material/type language). He even went up on the attic to ascertain where the leak was and confirmed that there is no need to replace any section of the roof. Only a good sealant is needed as around the pipe to stop the leak. All of this took less than an hour. We agreed on the price which did not cost me a arm and a leg (he also gave me a discount) and came over to do the work the very next day. Overall, I am very pleased with this company. We had a slight miscommunication along the way, but their entire team made sure that our roof was in good hands. Mario and Francisco from Kent Roofing just completed two days of work on our house. They definitely demonstrated a high work standard. Our roof has tiles that break easily and are no longer manufactured. These roofers knew how to walk on the roof so very few tiles broke, and, more importantly, they were able to bring a unbroken tiles to the job, to replace those that broke. When they peeled off the outer tiles it was clear that more work, and expense, would be required to really do a thorough job. This probably happens in any roofing repair. Kent uses an adhesive rubber film instead of tar paper. It's more expensive but it lasts longer and seals better. When Jonathan gave us our quote he said that Kent Roofing is not the cheapest alternative, but they do quality work. read more

A great company to work with. I had a very difficult and complex situation, with a little bit of everything (replacing tar and gravel with membrane, clay tiles, gutter repair and stucco patching). Jonathan and his crew (including Karla in the office) were wonderful to work with through this awkward job, and it turned out perfectly, just as I wanted. I'm surprised by some who say Kent's prices are a little higher, because I thought my quote was fair and solidly in the middle of the range I'd gotten. Not to go on a rant, but I care about service and long term warranty, as much as initial price, because what kind of a bargain is it if you get a cheaper price up front, but the contractor won't stand behind their work later? Or even return your calls? Any little detail that needed follow up, like a bit of touch up paint or a broken tile, Kent was there to make it right. They don't avoid you for the little things, and the little things are what makes the difference between quality workmanship and those just making a quick buck, and moving on. I want a roofer to have a long-term relationship with :-) Best of all, Kent works extremely well with my chosen solar provider, Earth Electric, and the two companies coordinated all the work I needed done, perfectly. We contracted Kent roofing company to fix a leak in our roof that created a watermark in our ceiling. With this series of storms this year and last year, I noticed the watermark getting larger and just recently started to see water leaking through the drywall. I saw that Kent roofing had a good rating, so we thought we'd give them a try. Jonathan was very responsive and was easy to schedule the initial appointment to survey the damage. Both Dave and Jonathan came by to take a look and provided an estimate the next day. We didn't get a chance to check quotes from other companies, but the reviews seem to indicate their prices were reasonable. There was set of storms coming that was going to last over a week so we wanted to get the roof repaired before the storms arrived. Jonathan had a couple of miscues with his crews to start the job but he did apologize, and assured us that he would get the job done before the storms came which was at this point all that mattered to us. His crew (Manuel) showed up on time on Monday morning and was done before noon. We also included a maintenance service since we haven't done anything with the roof since the house was was built in 1997. They did find another problem with one of the flashings, which they fixed at no charge to compensate for the scheduling issues. They also found a few other things that they fixed. It is Dave's way of hard work and dedication that made my decision to work with Kent Roofing. What he did totally exceeded my expectations of just a free estimate of a roof leak. It just happened that Dave's big ladder was borrowed out, and my roof was kind of high to reach. He actually tried four different locations around my house. I could tell that it was too steep and not safe, when he was almost reaching the roof. So I suggested several times that it is safer to schedule another time to come back. However, Dave would not give up. He hold the ladder going around the house from place to place, and it is not an easy job for his age. Finally, he was able to get to the roof. Then I was surprised again that he stayed there for half an hour to check things so carefully, removing tiles, checking underneath, and putting them back, at different places. He honestly told me that he did not find any hard damage to the roof that could cause leaking, just a few suspected areas to improve. Also, there were issues found from the solar panel installation, and should be fixed. He told me, "If I could not find out exactly, what is the point of coming here." He also mentioned that Kent roofing is a family owned company, and he was working for Jonathan's Dad before. I went ahead with Kent roofing for the project. We had a good experience working with Kent Roofing to replace our 30-year old wood shaker roof with composite shingles. After requesting a quote online, Patrick was quick to come out and provide us with a quote, which was very reasonable compared to the others we obtained. Dave was the project manager on our home and he stopped by our home prior to the project starting to provide samples and options for our gutters and downspouts - this was very much appreciated. Dave's team of 5-6 guys (varied by day) were able to remove our old roof and replace it all within one week. On the last day, Dave was there to make sure everything was done well and that the job site was all cleaned up. During the project, there was a miscommunication issue when it came to the style of downspouts that were installed, but Jonathan Kent (the owner) was quick to have things corrected and remedied. We are extremely grateful to him for his quick response and believe his actions show the commitment that Kent Roofing has to the satisfaction of their customers. That alone makes it very easy for us to recommend them, but we are also very thrilled with how our new roof looks! The reason why I am giving them 4 stars vs 5 stars is because of the following: my husband went up to our attic above the garage about a week or so after our roof project was completed and he said it's an absolute mess up there. So much so that when he pulled down the ladder to go up, so much debris came out! He said it's going to take some time to bring down all the belongings we store up there, clean them up as well as the attic floor and bring everything back up. This is the way a company should be run! I called for a quote -- Jonathan showed up and I got a quote that was in line with others I got. I gave them the go-ahead and they said they would start in a month. Three weeks later they called and said they would start one week early. They finished the job in four and a half days. The crew was friendly, efficient, hard working, and respectful. They did a great job -- I love our new roof! Now the good part: During the job the foreman told me my attic exhaust fan was broken so it was discarded. He also said I wouldn't need to replace it because they would be installing roof peak vents. A month after the job was completed I noticed our ceiling seemed to be hotter than usual. I checked the attic and found it w4r4as 105 degrees. I sent an email to Jonathan explaining the problem. I said, "If I buy a new fan, would you install it at no charge?" He said, "We'll do whatever it takes to make you happy." The crew showed up yesterday afternoon and installed my new fan!
