I called Inflictions Tattoo & Piercing in Covina to ask if they pierced minors. I specifically mentioned that it was my daughter's 6th birthday, and the guy on the phone said yes and asked how soon I could get there. He seemed rushed, so I said 10 minutes, and he told me to "take your time, there are other people in front of you." No problem. When my boyfriend got there first, the piercer told him it would cost $200 for ONE ear. Excuse me... what?? When I arrived, I asked him to verify that insane price. He mumbled something, nearly bolted away from me, and when I asked him to repeat himself, he half-mumbled again that he was "finishing up with someone." The whole vibe was shady, the place had a weird smell, and my gut told me this was not the spot. So I left with my daughter. Frustrated that I wasted my time driving there, I called back to say my piece. Before he even answered the phone, I could clearly hear him call me a "stupid bitch." When I confronted him, he played dumb like he had no idea who I was. I told him I had just left his shop and asked why he had me come all the way there only to spring a $200 one-ear piercing price on me. His excuse? "You didn't tell me your daughter was six. $200 has been my base price for 25 years." That's a blatant lie--I had my nose pierced there before, and it was nowhere near that. The truth is this guy doesn't listen, doesn't respect customers, and acted completely erratic--like he was amped up on something. His whole attitude screamed bitterness and misogyny. Businesses survive on treating people well, not by insulting them and scamming families on their child's birthday. Save yourself the trouble and take your business somewhere that respects you and your time. Covina has plenty of better options...this is not one of them. read more

Walked-in with a group of 6 (including a baby) on a Monday afternoon to get ear piercings on a whim and had THE best time! We had no idea what we wanted but Paul was fantastic helping us decide the best locations for everything based on our ear anatomies. He gave us sweet pricing on everything (Cash/Zelle). I scheduled an appointment for a forward helix piercing at 8:00 PM and was told that time worked perfectly. However, when I arrived, I was informed by another staff member that the piercer Paul was running late, which was not communicated to me beforehand. During the piercing process, I felt the experience lacked proper communication and professionalism. I was told he was about to begin, but there was no clear countdown or warning before the needle was inserted. The procedure itself did not feel smooth, as there was a moment where the piercing was not fully through, which added to my discomfort. Pricing was also a concern. The forward helix piercing itself was $70. I then purchased a basic titanium rook jewelry piece for $20 (for a piercing I already had), bringing the total to $90. I added a $10 tip, making my final total $100. Given the quality of the experience, I did not feel that the service justified the cost and left feeling taken advantage of. I chose this shop because of its reputation and familiarity, especially since I was visiting my hometown and opted to come here instead of going to a studio in San Diego where I currently live. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations, and I left feeling disappointed. read more

i wanted to love this place so bad. the vibes and beautiful energy is there, but the piercing unprofessionalism not too much. I came on Friday the 13th last time around ....... as the piercer poked my stomach for a belly piercing he couldn't get the other half of the needle out. all i felt was the needle scraping against my outer stomach. it was probably for a good 2 minutes of him playing with the needle inside of me but with the pain it felt like an hour. i was sweating. i was nauseous. i felt like i was going to pass out, it was uncomfortable pain i have never felt before. after tries and tries of plying with it trying to get it through and the needle scraping around my belly button inside my stomach the other half wouldn't go through so he took out the whole needle and pushed it through again so it finally went in. it was definitely supper painful i sat in the waiting area for 10 minutes feeling like i was going to pass out. it was a white man with tattoos all over who did my piercing. the other piercer in there always does my cousins and they never have any problems with him. he will be your best bet. read more

Found them to be very unprofessional when it came to their piercing scheduling. For my first visit I came here to have help get some earrings removed for a medical procedure, the piercer had multiple other people come in at the same time and then was late. When I called to make an appointment to have the piercings put back in the piercer was unavailable that weekend, which is totally fine and normal, but then they told me they'd get right back to me with another date and time and never did. I had to reach back out again and finally locked in an appointment. Then the day of that appointment they tried to change the time of my appointment on me again. I understand myself being a service provider that things come up and things happen but my overall vibe of the place is that they can do better and they lack professionalism. i got my helix, orbital/conch (whatever u call it dont @ me), nose piercing, and second lobe piercings all from this place. every time ive gotten a piercing from them, the experience was good and i love my piercings. my most recent one is the orbital/conch piercing that i got. it cost $60 which i happily agreed to and got my service done quick. while i was in the piercing room, i noticed a group of 3 girls getting tatted by a younger looking artist at the shop. they were quite loud and probably excited to be getting their tatts which i understand, i get it, im not one to squeal or be super loud while getting one, but everyone's different. what rubbed me the wrong way was the girls wanting to bring "liquor" into the shop and share with the artist whos literally tatting their friend...like thats weird. even if they were joking, i dont think they were (they left their friend alone to get the drinks!!!), the artist shouldnt have agreed and told them no. thats my opinion im not an expert but every tattoo ive gotten at my shop of choice has been professional and amazing, i know nothing like that would have happened! read more

PIERCING - made an appointment via text (only way of communicating apparently) to get piercing done went in a few minutes early like 15 since I know there will be paperwork and picking the jewelry, another family also arrived apparently they had booked an appointment 15 minutes before ours however it was more than 1 to get pierced. I asked the other family if they were there for a tattoo or piercing since i noticed she had birth certificates in her hand and i asked did they say to bring it and she said they just in case, i replied they didn't tell me that (so hopefully i wouldn't get asked for this) Anywho we sat there for almost 20+ minutes since I had scheduled a pickup at 2 apparently within those few minutes I got a text and they were being told piercer had something come up and would be in later, my text asked if I could come later.. Honestly, I came here with my cousin back in 2019 and I know - why barely write a review? Well, that's how awful this experience was, I still haven't gotten it out of my head and still tell all my friends to avoid this place. As a gay man and a woman, I feel like we were looked like as jokes and didn't know what we were talking about when it came down to tattoos. We went in for matching tattoos, and the guy who tattood us, seemed frustrated with us when we asked him to move the placement of the tattoo just a little lower. And he'd ignore us, put it way lower and tell us to "trust him" but when we'd fight back, since it's our body, he'd visually get frustrated. Exhaling very loudly or a little mannerism. I know, I know, we should've left the tattoo shop - but I was still fairly new to tattoos and stayed. Our tattoos didn't even come out identical and I hate the placement of mine, but was too scared to speak up and tell the guy. He also went too deep when tattooing and it clearly shows. I've gone to two other shops after that and have never felt so unwelcome or scared to speak out as I did with this shop. 10/10 would never go back here again. If you can avoid this shop, please do so! (My personal shop is now Graffiti Palace in North Hollywood, for those who are wondering.) read more

Only reason I'm giving two stars is because of Paul, otherwise I would give them -2 stars if I could! This review is well over due but I couldn't bring myself to do it because I was so embarrassed to let the world know what a horrible tattoo I received from this place. Finally, I am going to get it fixed and have other things added to it so I can finally be able to show off my tattoo. I will also include pictures so everyone can see how horrible my experience was. I loved this little place, the first time I ever went was to get my septum piercing done back in 2017 and Paul was the one who helped me out. This place isn't bad at all when Paul is there! I would not recommend anyone to go when Paul is not present. After my septum piercing I went about four more times and two of those times I got tattoos and the other two times was to accompany friends to get their piercings. The last time I went however, I decided to get a tattoo on my chest. It's fairly small, not too much detail and I was charged $80 for it. I was taken to a room where I took my shirt off and they placed the design on my chest so I could see how it looked and if I liked where it was placed. (See picture below labeled 'stencil.') At this point, I'm like "Okay great, it looks perfect." I send a picture of the stencil to my friend and he says it looks great (he's from India so he was making sure the design and the word was correct) so I agree to get the tattoo started. A bigger, chunky guy that works there says to me he will be right back to start on me and has me sit down on the chair. At this point, my friend who came with me is outside waiting in the couch and she sees my tattoo artist come out of the room and start drinking ALCOHOL before going back in to start on my tattoo. I did NOT know my tattoo artist was drinking prior to doing my tattoo. So he comes back in and starts doing my tattoo. After he's done he asks me to take a look at it and at first I start to think it looks a little weird but I've gotten tattoos before and sometimes they look weird because the stencil ink is smudged under it so I don't think too much of it. I pay him and I walk out to take a better look at it while my friend gets her tattoo with a different tattoo artist. (See image below labeled "tattoo outcome #1") After being outside waiting, I decide to clean it up a bit with a napkin and some water I have in my car (yes I know you shouldn't do that but I was freaking out because the tattoo looked nothing like what I was expecting so I went to clean off the extra ink and blood) and everyone can see, the tattoo looks nothing like the stencil! The word isn't even written perfect, the lines are crooked. At this point, I'm freaking out a lot more because it's a TATTOO and it's PERMANENT. I quickly take a picture of it and compare it to the stencil I was first given and I start to feel relieved that I took a picture of it so I can compare. I'm glad I did because I wouldn't have wanted them to say it was exactly like the stencil. I show my friend and I show her tattoo artist and they both see how messed up my tattoo is and they call back the big guy and tell him what he did and he has the AUDACITY TO GET MAD!!! He was mad that he had to ATTEMPT to fix his own mistake! So I go back to the room and he's trying to fix it "the best he can" he says. (keep in mind that at this point I still do not know he has been drinking. I don't find out until when I'm going home that my friend tells me. Yes, I did get upset with this friend for not telling me from the beginning.) While he's "trying" to fix my bad tattoo, all I can think of is how does someone mess up a tattoo when there's literally a stencil on my skin. All he had to do was trace it! Of course, on the way home after my friend tells me he had been drinking prior to doing my tattoo it all makes sense. After he's done "fixing" my tattoo it looks closer to what I had originally asked for but it still does not look good. (see image labeled "Tattoo outcome #2) The next day, I did text Paul and showed him the pictures I included with this review and he expressed how sorry he was about what happened to me the night prior. He offered to take care of the charge for my next tattoo whenever I was ready for another one but honestly, after such a bad experience like this, I never want to go back! Everyone has different experiences everywhere so I am not saying to take your business elsewhere, all I'm saying is make sure whoever is helping you out isn't drinking! I know for a fact this isn't their first time drinking while on the job since I've actually posted it before on my Snapchat. Always saw people who didn't do tattoos drinking, never thought the tattoo artists would drink too! read more

I came here to get my nostril pierced in May... immediately off the bat just weird vibes when I pulled up at my appointment time to find the door locked and people waiting outside to get in. Then the piercer pulled up in his car and asked me to double park my car next to his so that "no one would ding his car"... okay... for sure... I guess let them ding my car??? He ended up opening the shop and although I was the first person he helped, I realized he was the only one working and had literally booked like 5 different people to all come and wait in the shop. He took me to the back and was super rushed and then commented that he didn't prefer when people got nose piercings on the right side... which is what I had chosen.. thanks for your input? I don't care. Then he pierced me. No count down. Nothing. I have literally gotten my nipples pierced illegally by a 17 year old in her parent's master bathroom and even SHE gave me a countdown and put my jewelry in more gently than this guy did. He rushed me out the door and sent me on my way. Well. This piercing ended up being a nightmare. Had to go to a place that was APP (Association of Professional Piercers) certified and get my jewelry switched after my nose started developing the most gnarly bump I've ever seen in my life. Turned out the jewelry used here (L shaped, most likely not implant grade metal) fucked up my piercing almost irreparably. I got my jewelry changed and the swelling/redness/bleeding I had experienced for literally 2 months stopped overnight. Please do your research especially with facial piercings and spend the extra money and get it done right. Learn from my mistake! read more

Disclaimer: LONG review ahead, but for good purposes. I came here to get my daughter's ears pierced in December 2021. My daughter was 5 months old at the time and we had an awesome experience. My friend and I went together with both of our daughter's to get their ears pierced on a Saturday. Paul was running late and let us know that he was, but it was all good since we were running late as well. (I mean who isn't running late when you have kids). But when we got there, he accommodated the other party before us since theirs was a much simple piercing and they were adults. While we were waiting, Paul gave us a run down of the procedure then we signed a release form. Then he went on to ask if we had any more questions. When we got to the room to do the piercing, Paul went over how to hold our daughter. But before piercing, Paul used a sharpie to mark my daughter's ears to make sure the piercing was straight. I really appreciated this process because I was already nervous, but this extra step reassured me and I can see how meticulous Paul is with his work ensuring the piercings wouldn't be crooked. Paul used a one-time use sterile needle, NOT a gun like other places I looked into. I had a great experience with getting my daughter's ears pierced for the first time and so did my friend. We're both exceedingly satisfied and I recommend this place to any mom that is looking to get their ears pierced. Both mine and my friend's daughters ears did NOT get an infection, so I am super happy about that. Paul did such a good job that I'm planning on going back to get my ears done with him! Side note: I went with my family to Disneyland earlier this week and another mom complimented on my daughter's ears. She said it looks really nice and asked where I got my daughter's ears pierced. I've never had myself willingly drop a bad review but my experience here was absolute, pure trash. I understand due to covid local businesses are suffering but I left this place in utter shock. I came to get my nose piercing jewelry exchanged and was requested to lay down on my back to start. As the worker was changing out the jewelry, the guy somehow accidentally DROPPED one of the jewelry pieces inside my right nostril, the piece falling far enough down through my nasal cavity that I unknowingly ended up swallowing it. Mind you I didn't even realize something had gone wrong until he started frantically swabbing my nostril, attempting to look for it. At the end of the day I understand accidents happen. But what blows my mind is that the guy didn't even bother to apologize. Never even thought to admit to his wrongdoing. Instead he claimed that he'd been doing this for 15 years and that what just happened was "the best case scenario." He then went on to explain why changing out my jewelry wouldn't be the best idea anyways due to yada yada yada.. He completely disregarded the mistake that just occurred. I was speechless in observing him that he even had the audacity to try and start spewing his recommendations. He obviously knew he messed up because he didn't charge me for anything. But as I'm typing this I can still feel the frickin jewelry piece stuck inside my throat. To the employee that fucked up - please know that defending yourself with your unsolicited, claimed years of experience and telling me that is the best case scenario is beyond dismissive and nauseating at best. The nice cherry on top was when I got home and looked at myself in the mirror, there was dried blood all over the top of my nose - he didn't even have the decency to clean all the blood off after supposedly popping a keloid that I had.
